Ibime:I am seriously embarrassed discussing economics with them, especially since they find it impossible to admit its a subject they know very little about. |
Ibime:I do agree, though America would have been a lot better if he'd chosen someone else and still lost. Worst decision of his life, no doubt. |
basilico:I understand. If it were Sunday, you'd have easily understood, and you'd be more civil too and I wonder why. |
benalvino3:Russians have not been as hoodwinked as North Koreans and Syrians have been, Ben. And while Sanctions might not "deter the idiots ruling those nations", sanctions seriously compromise the damage and hurt "the idiots ruling those nations" could have inflicted if nothing was done. If nothing were done to Russia, Ukraine might have been Russia today, which would only further empower Putin to threaten further, and North Korea's Kim might have tried it on with South Korea by now too if not for sanctions against Putin. As for Syria, sanctions stop them getting involved in Israel. |
basilico:GameStop was ramped up on Reddit and had nothing to do with 4chan, but if 4chan is the "brightest chip on the block" for you, it shows how unbright you who claimed only yesterday to be here to learn must be. |
Former president Donald Trump on Sunday endorsed Sarah Palin for Alaska’s lone congressional seat, throwing his weight behind the ex-governor who embraced Trump before he came to dominate the GOP.A marriage of MagaTea. I blame McCain for succumbing to this. He might have been President if he'd swung Centre instead of the Right he tacked to by running with Palin. |
basilico:4chan is not indicative of the human mind, bas, and I never underestimate stupidity because it does a lot of damage with its ignorance if not checked. |
benalvino3:Ben, do I need to be the one to form a conspiracy to tell you that Biden is already sending money to organisations that will destabilise Russia and cause a regime change? Sanctions are put in place to destroy the economy which mostly does affect the people. The idea is that when the people suffer they will blame their leaders and revolt. But perhaps because we do not revolt successfully in Nigeria, you think Russians are like you who are ready to put up with being made to disappear so you'd rather shut up than fight for your rights. In Russia, where the citizens who care do express their hurt, it will be at their own "people who call the shots" that they will express it to, and they will not express it peacefully but loud enough so that the "people who call the shots" will have to care for the safety of their own heads! |
Fox News viewers who were paid to watch CNN for 30 days eventually became more skeptical and less likely to buy into fake news, according to a new study. |
basilico:He did not divide us because we kicked his orange ass out! |
basilico:Like, how? Like I like laughing at the idiocy of Breitbatians, or like being maga nuts like them that see bamboo in their kraken? If the later, bas, I am telling you the following for reasons included: what value do you add here except irrational complaints. Sort out your life my friend. |
benalvino3:I suppose you do not know the history of Russia that made a lot of noise against the leader called Nikolai II Alexandrovich Romanov, which is why you'd think "anyone who tries to speak or make noise will disappear", is going to stop Russians who survived disappearances under the Soviet Union from making noise under much less competent at disappearing people Putin. That's what you may be talking about, Ben. I am saying that the citizens those leaders are tearing apart do care that sanctions are tearing them apart. gambojimeta even posted increase of Russians fleeing, which shows some already care. Ben. We shall all live long enough to see how this plays out. During the July Crisis, Nicholas supported Serbia and approved the mobilization of the Russian Army on 30 July 1914. In response, Germany declared war on Russia on 1 August 1914 and its ally France on 3 August 1914,[9] starting the Great War, later known as the First World War. The severe military losses led to a collapse of morale at the front and at home; a general strike and a mutiny of the garrison in Petrograd sparked the February Revolution and the disintegration of the monarchy's authority. After abdicating for himself and his son, Nicholas and his family were imprisoned by the Russian Provisional Government and exiled to Siberia. After the Bolsheviks took power in the October Revolution, the family was held in Yekaterinburg, where they were executed on 17 July 1918. |
basilico:I'd expect you to be a user, bas, but since its so useless that even drumpfght does not use it, zero. How many people use truth social, bas? Two tech execs RESIGN from Trump's Truth Social just a year after being brought on with downloads plummeting and no Android app after a bungled launch |
Obrigardo:He must have thought all his magas were on iPhone. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-60922717

feedthenation:Is this what they call Russian Ruble appreciation?
|
benalvino3:You seem to be talking about the dictators who benefit from dictating, while I am talking about those being dictated to who would care. |
I feel I should apologise for flooding the thread with posts from this source. I had a thread for it but the mods shut it down for some reason so I decided this is a good place for it. It's America, after all. And the dollar. And Wolf does write very well, I dare say. https://wolfstreet.com/2022/04/03/my-wealth-disparity-monitor-of-the-feds-money-printer-era-holy-moly-april-update-of-the-greatest-economic-injustice-in-recent-history/

PDPGuy:The US has been exporting, is more like it, since they are the ones who invested in building factories in China. And how did China manage it? By providing cheap labour that so outweighed the benefit of the dollar that Americans converted their dollar into remnimbi to pay for Chinese labour instead of their own American labour because the returns were higher, so higher that America goes into debt to purchase it. Now, that's how intelligent people win economic wars in the twenty first century! Make their money flow into your economy. |
Bas, I'm watching All The President's Men. Great insight into government and media, with no impliance on my part that today's Washington Post is anything like then's or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DC3YFyah_Yg |
babasolution:Even though many here will just believe you, you are going to have to provide data for this to be accepted by those who use their own eyes and mind. |
benalvino3:It makes their people suffer and you'd have to spend more money making people disappear, and you'd also not be able to steal much tax from them. You, folk, for sure, don't sound like people who'd like to put up with living in any of those countries. Is that perhaps because it would be too much suffer for you or are you just being sarcastic, again? |
benalvino3:Imagine Americans having to put up with Russia type sanctions and it's inflation alone, Jan 6 will be like a celebration party compared, and Let's Go Brandon will be Let's Burn Biden, left and right. I would not agree that the west is losing any strength through sanctions. Sri Lanka, Greece, I hear, are rioting. Watch to see as others join in, including Russians, eventually. |
benalvino3:Time will tell us which way it ends up and whom it costs. |
basilico:It's still a lot below its pre-invade Ukraine value, and does hurt Russia, as inflationary evidence shows, and will get worse. Europe is looking for alternative sources for gas. Once it finds it (could take 2-5 years, so note it's a long term thing, though article says in a year), Russia could eat it's gas for all the world cares, but long before then, Russia will start to eat it's roubles as it suffers from an inability to find anywhere to spend it's roubles except in China, or sell anything else except at a discount. |
basilico:Bas, are you trying to be funny telling me what I've always done here? What most don't understand is that with Nigeria adopting the American style of government, we have decided to go down the American historical political root but without the fueling force of occupying the land that America seized plus the free labour they seized with which to develop it, and without the political issues - race, gender confusion, oppression, etc - that they adopted their political system to solve, which is why we can't grow as America did and must find our own way after fully understanding the path we currently travel. Unfortunately, we turn ourselves into the Right and the Left, a concept that does not even exist in Nigeria except perhaps as the North and the South, or my tribe and your tribe, a division that does get in the way of our learning. Good thing is, the truth shall set us free. We just have to be mature enough to admit it when we see it bas, instead of thinking those with a different view or opinion are competing with us. Anyway, I just watched some Chomsky, and all the way through thought, this is Bas' mouthpiece, if only he, bas, knew what he, bas, was saying. His books are much better, of course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wneThOUcpsQ

The fact that some think counting mosquitoes is so impossible or pointless just shows how little we know and how much more we need to learn! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TilyFG2BvEU

Nijagogetsense:How much you betting? I bet this political gimmick a cheap cheat to win votes that APC know how to use than all of the other parties that have produced presidents before now that did not know or bother to use it. As for their being Fulani, more credit for rewarding those in Owerri who are not Fulani and who achieved something in Nigeria's name instead of rewarding non-achievers from elsewhere. That credit, more votes, makes the reward of their cheat gimmick even cheaper. |
na2016:Na2016, are you talking from experience, and are you assuming buda is like you? |
Nijagogetsense:A political gimmick that no president has thought of using since 1994. Is it a bad political gimmick? |
na2016:Yet, I have used it here. Or do you want to also claim I don't understand what I'm writing here? Perhaps think what you really understand instead of trying to assume to know what I might understand or not understand or be like. |
Alexpre11:The use of the senses to ask and knock and seek so one may know instead of merely believing and trembling like demons and be bitten by mosquitoes. |
basilico:Russia too can be said to have wanted dominance, bas, but what they've got out of the stupid error in understanding how the world works and thinking dominance is the same as 20th century military might, is a vast diminishing of themselves. https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-economy-gdp-crash-ukraine-war-inflation-sanctions-energy-putin-2022-3
