Ibime:When bubu voiced it, most, as usual, called him cow as if federal government runs the schools in my state that have no teachers and supplements with corpers who think sleeping with 13 year olds is fringe benefits!

DissTroy:I ask again, does lying make you feel good? And why the fuq would I be reeling from lies and untruths from people like you who need to lie in order to refuse to accept that your baiting is no different to the person you are now complaining about? Nigeria is not the rape capital of anywhere, and in fact, we do not really condone rape. That does not mean rape does not happen in Nigeria, just that you baiting with figures you confessed were bait is juvenile as far as I am concerned, and you've been called out just as you are now calling out some other, and if you expect him to accept your calling, perhaps you should lead by accepting yourself being called out. You never know, you just might be learned from. |
benalvino3:I doubt you'd bother to find evidence for the bold, Ben, so let me help you, but first, you are very funny at Abacha keeping thieving at bay when the record shows he was megastealing, and it would be naive to think others were at bay while he was. Were you too young at the time, I wonder, to notice how bad Nigeria was during Abacha's time, because he makes bubu an upstart compared. Even Head of State Buhari who was a no nonsense bubu compared to this current toothless bubu was not as bad as Abacha! The Nigerian election that gave us Buhari was between him and GEJ who was asleep at the helm while Nigeria's money was pumping up real estate in US and UK and Dubai. Oil was $150 a barrel but we had nothing to show for it except the ownership of the juiciest real estate in the countries mentioned. Bubu was not going to make it any better except harder for our money to so easily go missing like it use to. I for one have not read of billions of Nairas or dollars or pounds or euros in ghanamustgoes or in soakaways since he came to power, probably because Nigeria hasn't got that sort of money anymore. My own local government was bagging more than the entire state now bags, and we have nothing to show for it in my local government, but that wasn't our problem. Our problem was us, the citizens, who had little understanding of our responsibility in choosing our leaders. Hopefully, bubu has made us suffer so much that we'd now wake up from our slumber, but I'm not holding my breathe. The next election is likely to be between Atiku and Tinubu or their proxies, and in my own opinion, I'd rather elect drumptf to rule us than either of them, though I'm certain he'd be just as bad since our problem is not so much the leadership but the lame institutions we have that can't keep us in check. It's why I spend a lot of time in this thread. My hope is that by understanding USA whose political system we have adopted, we'd learn how presidential democracy works and use the knowledge we acquire to fix our own institutions. Sadly, we are consumed by wokeness and umudikeanism on the right and the left, but I have faith in us though. If we do not learn by choice, we'd learn when we starve. |
DissTroy:Like baiting, right? Intended to needlessly inflame? I wonder if I'd be wrong to say you are now sanctimonying. |
benalvino3:You are entitled to your opinion. Just don't go claiming buda says Nigeria is shit. |
PrideofLincoln1:P.s. I wrote $28.5 Trillion, and not "N28.5 Trillion"! And its America's debt, and not Nigeria's! |
benalvino3:Sorry Ben, but I do not agree that Nigeria is shit, as you claim! We may be facing some thorny issues but that does not in anyway make Nigeria shit, because if Nigeria is shit, Nigerians, including myself, must be shit, and I do not agree that I am shit, nor do I think Nigerian you is shit either, because If I think so I must be shit for talking to shit, please note.

musicwriter:Fact is, keeping the information they had to themselves allowed that information to die off with them, while Judaism, which was disseminated all over the world has become the accepted 'knowledge' precisely because it was disseminated around the world. That said, I do forgive them. Their writing was on stone, which really could not easily be transported and read, while Judaism was on papyrus which was easily transported. But even the origin of papyrus must not be missed. budaatum: |
PrideofLincoln1:If people in Nigeria here are anything to go by, men using women's toilets in America is of more concern in Nigeria than anything Buhari or anyone else does. Thankfully, they are a minor few. |
Ibeme:Can you imagine a person who has had that conversation with their employer then going into a toilet to rape someone? The irony that this is what engages some when debt is north of $28.5 trillion and inflation is eating into savings and income, does not elude me. Something must divert attention from more pressing matters. There's a trans at my local supermarket. She's so nice that the queue to be served by her is always the longest, mostly women too, and her main competition is a Hijab wearing woman right next to her. |
DissTroy:Does promoting falsehood make you feel better or something? budaatum: |
benalvino3:So, you recognise not all women would react the same. Do you also realise that women are involved in making the policy about who enters their rest room, and some are not against what you are? I mean, if I were imprisoned for a long while, I could see me arguing to lock up men with me so I can get some diq, don't you think? This would be resolved in due time, is what I think. We down here in Blighty are just amused its the pressing issue it is for some, while those in Nigeria should be fighting for public toilets and not whether men would piss with women. |
DissTroy:Everyone was trying to have a conversation while you were baiting and you see nothing wrong with that? |
benalvino3:There is no reason for women not to insist their toilets be for women only, and theres enough women to fight for this and get it without the invocation of rape as the boogey, which is not supported by evidence. Boogey logic just weakens the position and opens it up to ridicule, is my point. |
DissTroy:You will then need to forgive me if I ignore you a lot as I'm not here for childish games. |
benalvino3:Don't you think it would depend on how the woman actually reasons? If she thinks men are out to rape her she's bound to be afraid, but if she thinks men are not pigs, then why should she be afraid ? Fact is, most people base their fears or not on experience. If I have been alone with men in a rest room in the past and haven't been raped, I'm less likely to think a man alone in a rest room would rape me, but if I have been or think I'd be raped by a man alone in a rest room I'm more likely to be afraid of being alone with a man in a restroom. |
musicwriter:That is exactly what people claim the God was doing in the Garden of Eden! Eve wisely said, "let me be hurt, I'll have the information regardless", only to find that the supposed hurt, that she would surely die, was a lie. I do not agree with keeping information from people, as doing so enslaves them to those who have the information. Either intentionally or unintentionally, the result is an ignorant enslaved populace and is detrimental to the development of said people. |
Tdotbluejays:There you go, Disstroy. Not counting does not mean non-existent. |
DissTroy:I would think it is obvious that nations that have a higher threshold for what constitutes rape and that counts marital rape in their statistics and encourages reporting of rapes would have higher rape cases than Nigeria where rape is mostly blamed on the woman which therefore discourages women from reporting rape. Just imagine a wife in Nigeria claiming her husband raped her and my point might jump out at you. Even parents discourage their daughters reporting rape because of the stigma attached. As for the raping of men in Nigeria, other men would just laugh at you if you claim it happened to you. One just need check how we Nigerians respond to rape cases on here to consider our statistics should be taken with a huge dose of skeptism I would think. |
basilico:We had a discussion about how you should seek superiority in education for your child instead of allowing the school system to give your child equity, so hopefully you'd start before your child hits 13.
|
benalvino3:You are the one using rape to justify you point, and I doubt any court in the world would accept same gender toilets as an excuse for rape just as no court would excuse you stealing a car because the key was in the ignition. Temptation is not a valid excuse for crime, and saying it is is just you being woke! |
musicwriter:No, we must not "see it from the perspective of their time"! It was wrong and stupid then and would always be wrong and stupid to keep people ignorant just so you can exploit them, which is what happened in Egypt and everywhere else such was practised. People should perhaps look into Buddhism to understand how people suffer because of their lack of knowledge. Once this is understood, people would begin to understand why Jesus was deified. |
benalvino3:Ben, men just need to stop behaving like pigs and blaming it on "she was naked", which is not an acceptable excuse for rape where I live. We teach children this in kindergarten so they would not depart from it and become rapists when they become adults. It beats the "build a wall" ideology, which in this case is the equivalent of getting women to wear a burqa so men may control themselves. |
musicwriter:Whatever the reason was, the consequence was malevolent, and it cost them since they themselves lost the ability to read what they kept from untrained people amongst themselves. You can not hide knowledge from your people and expect to grow and develop as a nation, is what has been found, which is why developed nations spend quite a lot educating their untrained people. The converse is us who refuse to train our people then moan when they become almanjeris, because, if you don't train them, someone else will to take advantage of their lack of training. |
raumdeuter:There you go. Privacy, and not, rape. Funny thing is most humans are comfortable stripping naked in front of other genders or they'd keep their clothes on and not procreate. The best prophylactic against pregnancy after all is keeping clothes on. |
benalvino3:We do not need to make up alternative facts when real facts exist! Or do you wish to claim most rapists follow their victims into toilets to rape them? https://www.rainn.org/statistics/perpetrators-sexual-violence
|
raumdeuter:There is a reason for sure, but I do not think its because they'll rape one another. I mean, some of us grew up in the same room as our other gender siblings and did not go about raping each other, and you wouldn't claim boy and girl schools promote rape, I hope. |
basilico:Perhaps think for yourself instead of letting sceptics think for you! |
musicwriter:Actually, the idea of keeping written knowledge from the masses was prevalent in Egypt where the written word was preserved for the priests. When the cult of priests died off, reading died of too, which is why later Egyptians believed the hieroglyphs were written by gods. This same idea of keeping the written word from the masses survived in Christianity by keeping the Bible in Latin until Martin Luther translated it into German, and it survives in Islam by keeping the Quran in Arabic that most do not understand. Both rely on others telling people the meaning of what people read, hence would you find some claiming here that "on the day that you eat you shall surely die" means "started the journey to surely die" like some slow death that takes 800 or so years. What they would not admit is they are parroting what they've been told to believe and are too afraid and lack the confidence to accept what they cleary read for themselves. Such nonsense can not survive long, as anyone who has been to Europe where such ideas came from would discover. They too built churches all over the place and that survive today, but now they are converting lots of them into pubs and houses and mosques, while they build libraries instead. I tell you, Seun is God for providing this platform to educate, and I hope he would let me pay him a token amount in appreciation! |
basilico:Yeah, so? Does that make her a man? |
benalvino3:A rapist does not need a toilet to rape! And I did not generalise or I would have generalised man you would rape! Thing is, our opinions on this are bound to differ. I live in a country where if a wife says no and her husband insists, it is rape; while any woman who says her husband raped her where you live would be laughed at and almost flogged. That's perhaps why you think men where you live would go into toilets to rape women, while that's rather rare where I live.

sanpipita:Most don't support this silliness! And what was done to Caster Semenya is a disgraceful tragedy. In light of current developments I wish she would sue! feedthenation: |
