The more I go back and reflect the worse you actually become! Just listen to yourself trying to create people in your own desired image despite the evidence in front of your eyes!

budaatum:
I am very sorry that I stopped right there. I was an atheist from birth and my life had meaning so I can't say I shared your opinion that atheists arrive at the conclussion you arrived at!

As a humanist alone, your life ought to have plenty of meaning unless you have not got a clue what humanism is about. I mean, do you not know humanism means "Love humans", and what greater purpose can a human being have than the expression of love for their fellow human being so you get up daily with the sole purpose of diminishing the sufferings of your fellow humans?

Now, let me patiently go and read the rest of what you wrote to find out if you were only an atheist to the Bible, as in one who rightfully disbelieved it, but unfortunately failed to seek understanding of what is written therein.
I guess "all atheists should" because you say so, like Eve should have died though she didn't, but let's close our eyes and ignore the evidence and just believe the crap inside your head why don't you!

It's impossible to convince you.

The experience is Taylor made and subjective.
It is amazing that you do not realise that you are confessing that you "make crap up in your head" and are asking us to let you make crap up in our heads too, which, incidentally, was what the story of the Temptation of Christ was about, which just happened to be the reading for the first Sunday in Lent of the Church of England, which was when this conversation was held.

Satan was trying to put crap in the head of Jesus Christ the Messiah, but Christ conquered satan with the Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil! No wonder he is referred to as " the way, the truth and the life".

That is not true, Hell. People are not just born. You were not just born! I definitely was not just born! Mummy and daddy first had to find each other and decide to born us after setting up nest and dedicating to keep us alive. You might of course not know this yet, but you will not just born your own children if you ever decide to have any.

And neither do people just die! In fact, quite a lot of effort and resource is put in to ensure people do not just die, and I bet you will not just die neither, but rush to the doctor and spend lots of money to ensure you definitely do not just die.

Please let me know if I am incorrect.

Minimum wage should probably be left up to the states tbh.
"Red state" Florida voted to approve $15 per hour. The truth of the matter is minimum wage can't remain the same while inflation keeps rising year after year.
What is the point of calling it "minimum" if it's barely enough for one to start off??
Without that minimum people would be paid much less as employers would say take it or leave and hire the cheapest, illegals in many cases.

Like I said Buddy, those so called economic experts have their own agenda. $10 an hour is nothing to live on in most Cities of America with the inflation level. There are few establishments and companies paying $15 an hour already and their side effects of paying that is minimal at best. I live in Chicagoland and I can tell you that a single guy or lady without a spouse and a child can't survive in Chicagoland on $15 an hour considering the rent, utilities and feeding alone not to talk of other things the person will need. About the immigration, there's a way these stuff will solve itself out knowing that the RepubliKKKans shouting about immigration got their lineage from Europe. When the so called Republikkkans shouting about BROWNING of America, what should the American Indians who owns the land talk about after the early settlers wiped several millions of them out during the pogrom. America strength lies in her diversity and don't fall for the navitivy call of stopping immigration. I do not support illegal immigration but the ones that have legitimate claim of persecution should be provided an Avenue of being interviewed and processed. Diversity is a plus for America.
Some people forget that some would rather bring back slavery and pay nothing if they could get away with it, which is why a minimum wage

Two things needing to be done is enforce the law against the hire of cheap illegals, and Americans should buy American instead of made everywhere else that favors ceos, and $15/hr would be payable.

P.s. I am not against globalisism, but against its overexploitation.

These foreign extremist religions are the worst ideologies ever to set foot on African soil.
Oaroloye, you see. Amujale agrees with you, but I disagree with you both, and insist that while religion, as in, the acceptance of belief, might do what you both say, the Bible itself is the best thing that has ever been presented to humans such that if it is said about it that "Whosoever reads it and understand shall live a healthy and fulfilling life", I will not disagree, and thankfully, it is written in it as such though deciphering is required.

budaatum:
You really need to stop arguing with yourself. No one is claiming the Bible is history. It is mythology. Go look up the meaning and learn. Neither is anyone conquering you with it. You can read it to oppress yourself if you want to or understand it and free yourself, the choice is yours, after all, you must have heard the adage "know your enemy".

I can't understand how you would read it and become a slave unless you do not really understand what you read. Perhaps you need to be honest with us Amu and confess you never bothered reading it becaise you are afraid it will enslave you. Or perhaps you are the ignorant one here who does not understand that mythology is not history.

That said, the Bible starts off with a story of a tribe freeing themselves from slavery. Adam and Eve were slaves in the Garden of Eden and freed themselves from slavery by acquiring knowledge. It continues with another story about Moses freeing the Israelites from slavery. And it contains stories about a man called Jesus who taught people to free themselves from the slavery of ignorance, a lesson you would most definitely benefit from since you seem to be enslaved by your ignorant understanding.

"Love your neighbours" is not "malicious tools of foreign extremist ideologies", but a lesson taught in most decent societies. You should try it and see how better the world around you would become instead of constantly spewing the vitriol and hatred that seems to consume you. You'd be being the change you want to see if you do try loving those around you.

First know that I had to dig through your diatribe which is like the cherubim with flaming swords that you use to deter people from getting to what you have to say. It is a pity, for while this is not one of the wise things you've written, a lot of intelligence is lost in many of your posts.

oaroloye:
THE DISSOCIATIVE MIND LEARNS LESSONS WITHOUT LEARNING FROM THEM: THE STORY OF EVE IS A CAUTIONARY TALE- YET YOU FAILED TO BE CAUTIONED.

1. EVE WAS OFFERED A SHORTCUT
TO ACQUIRING THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL, AND TOOK IT, DESPITE BEING FOREWARNED OF THE ULTIMATE CONSEQUENCE, NAMELY, DEATH.
I wrote in my previous that you only partially left organised religion which is where you learnt the above and continue to believe it.

The subject of your thread is Colonial/imperialist Christianity Has Betrayed Us All! And while I disagree, you did hit a sweet spot that Martian and Amujale would agree with, despite the first being a Martian and the second being antichristian. My contradictory view can be found in response, and is that it is not Colonial/imperialist Christianity that Has Betrayed Us All, but our own inability to read a book without what is believed getting in the way.

I mean, see you above claiming "EVE WAS OFFERED A SHORTCUT TO ACQUIRING THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL, AND TOOK IT" as if it is a negative thing to do despite the fact she never really took a shortcut and just plucked of the fruit of knowledge that was in the garden she lived in.

Then you claim the ULTIMATE CONSEQUENCE, NAMELY, DEATH, as if you read somewhere that Eve would never have eventually died!

As I said, partially left organised religion, unlike brave wise Eve who damned the consequences and tested her belief and freed herself from the enslaving "Colonial/imperialist Christianity" equivalent of her time, and who, however you wish to spin it, did not surely die on the day that she ate, but went on to live a very very long 800 fruitful years afterwards.

I LEFT ORGANIZED CHRISTIANITY BECAUSE IT DOES NOT WORK, BEING BELIEF-BASED WITHOUT RESULTS.

Having changed my Beliefs, would I not have different EXPERIENCES?

I LEFT ORGANIZED RELIGION BY TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY SITUATION: THE FAILURES OF CHRISTIAN RELIGION ARE DUE TO CONFORMITY WITH FALSE BELIEFS ACCEPTED BY THE MAJORITY AS "THE TRUE DOCTRINE."
You mean, you left Christian Religion because you found errors in their teachings and decided to use your own brain?

I commend this in you so much, but sadly you will believe otherwise.

oaroloye:
I KNOW VERY LITTLE OF THE BUDDHAS, BUT I AM CERTAIN THAT NONE OF THEM COULD HAVE POSSIBLY SAID ANYTHING LIKE THAT!

BUDDHISM is based on intuitive learning that supersedes logic: ENLIGHTENMENT.

Can you give the Chapter-and-Verse source of that alleged quotation?

Searching for the source immediately turns up that it is a fake quotation.

https://fakebuddhaquotes.com/believe-nothing-no-matter-where-you-read-it/
Warning. Read the comments

Now read the following 'direct sourced quote:

"Intuitive learning" is one of the many learning styles, and only fools live by one learning style alone. Jesus Christ

You obviously do know nothing about humans, or yourself for that matter, or you would realise that what you call intuitive learning is exactly what using your brain is. I mean, is that not what you left organised religion to come here and do?

As for the quote. It does requires a tiny revision, I must admit, for it to more accurately represent the teaching of Buddhism, though rightfully not a direct quote since Buddha, like Christ, did not write books.

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, even if unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

Buddhism is complex like that, and abhors belief of any sort, as you'd find when you learn about it, because belief implies knowing which it clearly is not as shown by the fact that Buddha does not claim to be "the way and the truth and the life" as Christ is claimed to have described himself, since like Buddha and Christ, one is required to ask and seek and knock until one finds the "the way and the truth and the life" for oneself. It's what Eve, who did not surely die on the day that she ate and who's eyes did open and of whom you simply regurgitate what organised religion you claim you left insists that you believe did. It's what Christ did in refusing to join the organised religion of his day and believe as they did, but going forth into the wilderness to learn for himself. And it's what you commendably partially did, when you left organised religion though you failed to completely exorcise the beliefs of organised religion that had been inculcated in you.
