abbey621: The division existed before Trump and it will exist long after Trump, let's not kid ourselves. I don't think any civil consequences will stop Trump from remaining relevant, even in a loss more than 70 million people voted for him, those people are not going anywhere, in fact there's a high probability that Biden fails hence 2024 will be another major battle, it is well Trump was a main instigator of the division during Obama's 2 terms. He used it to ride into the White House. But if you think trump will be relevant in 4 years time, you obviously do not quite understand the extent to which he's being hunted and what it will cost him. His election loss already showed how much his 4 years damaged him. The double impeachment will erode some more. Those who lost 400,000 will despise trump. Business associates are detaching from him. Even his Nairaland dieharders are deactivating in droves, and now he squeaks instead of ranting on twitter and there's court after court after court after him. The only people trump will have relevance with in 4 years time will be his diehard supporters like you who see nothing wrong with him shooting people on the streets of New York and I am absolutely certain you are in the mega minute minority of like 10million at best. But popcorn, as you say. We shall most definitely see. |

abbey621: I have no doubt he is going to pay heavily my only concern is criminal liability. I'm glad you mentioned the 2019 lawsuit because it would be a case of double jeopardy since Trump can lump the payments as part of that settlement. Ultimate will be interesting to see what comes out of this, it's a battle of whether something that has never been done in U.S history happens, will an ex president of the U.S. go to trial or possibly go to jail? How far will the powers that be prevent this from happening due to national security? Grab your popcorn, let's wait and see. As I said, likely no jail. In fact, jail seems impossible because it would be a national security dilemma especially for trump who is more likely to use it to his advantage with immense success, I think. But this is not about jail time for trump but to humiliate and destroy him and his entire lineage so he would not be heard ever again in company that matters. It's safe to call it a witchhunt. Just that in this particular case, witch trump really does exist and must be hunted. You can't be behind the 4 years of division that culminated in January 6 and get away with it. You at least shouldn't be allowed to, so yes, grab popcorn and wait and see. |

linearity: I can see where the disconnect is, the NY AG is not requesting Trump’s taxes in order to audit him, it is a criminal investigation. That's what abbey621 is missing. He thinks its about tax instead of recognising the tax is just a means to their purpose. |

crackhaus: I only hope Biden will be able to keep his sanity and handle the criticisms that will no doubt be thrown at him for the next four years.
The major difference between him and Trump, is that the latter was more battle-hardened and will always throw back three punches in response to just one that was thrown at him.
Biden just seems like he will eventually collapse under the pressure of endless shots that'll be coming his way. Trump who was stuck battling on twitter is seen by you as "able to keep his sanity and handle the criticisms" than Biden whom despite the criticisms is just getting on with the job? You are funny, lol. |

johnw47: i remember some time ago seun threatning to ban olaadegbu on some disagreement they had
olaadegbu's last two writings that he tried to post were deleted, so maybe seun carried out on his threat. I'm not surprised, though seun probable did not ban him simply because they disagreed. Olaadegbu was often excessively rude and obnoxious, which is more likely the reason he was banned. The fact he called himself a Christian was enough to make me anything but, as he was a role model for the worst type in my opinion. |

If you were a mother like op, you would get my point in responding to her silly request for child support from her irresponsible baby father as I did. budaatum: Do know that I never asked for your advise nor opinion nor did I give you any.
Op would be ill-advised to expect her useless baby father who has already shown that he does not care to then pay support for a child he already maltreats. She should take her daughter and feed her the little she has instead of expecting him to pay child support, or sue him for it.
She has the choice of ignoring me if she wants to, as do you too, instead of misconstruing what I've said with insults like a person abused as a child! |

Perhaps they'll charge ₦100/Km. That should make highway building worth investing in. It's tax though. 'Theft by government', and rent seeking. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: U.S Supreme Court Allows The Release Of Trump's Tax Returns by budaatum: 4:49am On Feb 23, 2021 |
abbey621: Too bad intelligence is not what I would associate with your reasoning, failing to file taxes attracts automatic fines/penalities as long as you have tax liabilities, this is US tax law and non negotiable, whereas fiddling is subjective and open to interpretation so guess which ones you have a better chance of defending? Come on, I'm sure for someone so intelligent, you can figure it out but you're right we're just going back and forth so let's end this tomfoolery, shall we! We are not arguing about "which ones you have a better chance of defending" abbey, but about which is perceived to be the greater crime! So which is it, failing to file or fiddling? |

Goodvibes007: What do you mean budaatum. Trump is an honest man.
Someone like Trump will not pay millions of dollars to accountants to help tweak his financial records and possibly evade taxes. Same way he cried fraud in the elections but the courts found none.
Let's just say New York State Attorney General is wasting time by investigating claims that Trump’s company inflated the value of its assets to secure loans and get tax benefits. Do I detect sarcasm? It is my own opinion that trump is the most dishonest person to rule America in my lifetime which goes far back to Johnson. |

I want to scare you. The pain you feel after a scorpion sting is instantaneous and extreme. Any swelling and redness will usually appear within five minutes. More severe symptoms, if they’re going to occur, will come on within the hour. It’s possible to die from a scorpion sting, though unlikely. There are an estimated 1,500 species of scorpion in the world, and only 30 of these produce venom toxic enough to be fatal. https://www.healthline.com/health/scorpion-sting |

abbey621: In the U.S when you file bankruptcy, you must submit your tax returns to creditors and the trustee. Between 1991 and 2009, Trump did 6 bankruptcies for his business, so there's no way his taxes were hidden. I'm sure he has fantastic accountants. I am including tax avoidance and fiddling records in my "hidden". I do not trust trump to be honest. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: U.S Supreme Court Allows The Release Of Trump's Tax Returns by budaatum: 2:44am On Feb 23, 2021 |
abbey621: I already said I'm not going to argue about civil consequences, he sdeserves what he gets, my only point of argument is criminal liabilities. And I'm not arguing he has criminal liabilities since he has not even been charged for any yet. His tax records are being requested to see if he has committed a crime, and only after they are seen will he be charged for either a civil offence, or a crime or a nothing to see here. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: U.S Supreme Court Allows The Release Of Trump's Tax Returns by budaatum: 2:39am On Feb 23, 2021 |
abbey621: Remember all his taxes were only hidden after 2010, all the major loans he had occurred before then so I don't know how your theory is relevant unless you meant he inflated his income to IRS and then deflated it the next tax season, can you explain? Furthermore, any bank in the USA that would give you a major loan would do so by asking for bank statements and IRS issued tax transcipt better known as 4605-T. Overall this looks more like a civil issue, the criminal aspect lacks merit. It is not true that trump's tax was only hidden after 2010! He is far too astute a businessman to not have hidden aspects of his tax going back to his father's time, and I personally have never seen nor heard the details of trump's tax records prior to 2010. If you have kindly share. We will only find out if its criminal or civil when he's charged of course, which they need his hidden tax records to check. |

I still followed one of them argue earlier today and I had to take tylenol for the amount of jargon thrown my way He will lose a considerable amount of his assets and money if he loses this case. That's what he's scared off. In fact, he's already lost a lot of money and assets because of his deplorable behaviour after losing the election which tarnished his name and caused many to cut business with him. Trump deserves tylenol thrown at him for his deplorable behaviour and he's getting it thrown at him in buckets! |

abbey621: I already told you why he hid it, he does not want to seem poorer than he is .... Seriously? So it was not to take advantage in anyway like to get a larger loan than the assets deserve or pay less tax than he owes? I want to believe you believe trump is pious like that, I really do, but you sound far too knowledgeable for me to believe you believe he is that pious. |
