Heard of Rema for the first time today. He was featured on Channel 4 Nigerian musician Rema now making political waves By Kiran Moodley He’s become one of the biggest names in Afropop with a huge following across Africa. Nigerian superstar Rema is now making political waves. His latest song Peace of Mind reflects on a difficult year for the world, and for his homeland, especially the popular movement that’s taken to the streets. https://www.channel4.com/news/nigerian-musician-rema-now-making-political-waves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNR7F3AuIhY |

vivsravine:Very proud indeed, because, rather than wait fir manna to fall down from the heavens for me, I use my talent and might and go up to the heavens and grab the manna for myself.

DoubleEngine007:Old man, you do not need to argue with me nor do you need to tell me what I should do or enjoy. It's a public forum. Post your point if you have one or shut up. No one bought your data for you nor did you pay for mine. |
Thank you. And good luck. |
TheSourcerer:I am ashamed to have to agree. Thankfully, average is made up of mean, median and mode. Some are below 70 and some are way far above 70. |
DoubleEngine007:Assuming I were a man, could you tell me why I would want a "manageable one". Am I so worthless myself that a "manageable one" is all I deserve? I think I would rather make myself worthy of a very desirable king, and if I can not find one I would remain single. But I agree. Believe whatever you may believe, since neither you nor I is choosing the others partner. P.s. Do not assume one is wise. Check the fruits so you know.
|
yomi007k:Denial that your sisters and mother might be desirable? Kindly give me reason to believe otherwise and I will willingly change my mind. |
HellVictorinho:What!? Is that what I said? Where please?! I do not agree that the Bible must have anything to do with religion. After all, I did say, "the Quran, or Plato, or Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart or Homer". Is religion compulsory for Things fall Apart? HellVictorinho:I disagree. I was an atheist throughout my growing up in Nigeria and I survived very well, thank you very much, and I am still not religious now and still survive very well. Perhaps step back a bit and let us first define "religion" because despite two years after attempting to take up religion, I am finding it to mean groupthink, or rather, groupbelieve, which I am finding to be contrary to what I have rediscovered in the Bible. Do you know Jesus was crucified because he did not believe what the group claimed should be believed? Do you realise that Eve refused to believe and remain a slave in the Garden of Eden? Perhaps we should wait till you have finished your conversation with Ihe and can devote your attention to our conversation or you might mix us up. |
TheSourcerer:I do not know that it is specifically due to religion, but I do often wonder if they have no sisters or at least a mother they can respect. I often want to ask such men if their mother was an olosho too but I guess I know some men are just stupid ignorant pigs, and some women too. |
yomi007k:I don't know where you see your own women, because I have personally found that just as some women of those days "brought alot to the table; submission, loyalty, respect, hardwork, sacrifice etc" did some women of those days like some women of today, not bring anything to the table, do not submit (not that that's a bad thing in my book since some men are pigs and unsubmittable to if one has sense), not loyal, disrespectful, lazy and will not sacrifice etc. I think a man who can't find himself a desirable woman probable never deserved to have one or does not know what to look for and got exactly what he deserved. Do you not have desirable sisters, at least? |
I can't say I know any. My paternal grandfather respected his 13 wives, and my father respects my mother. My maternal grandfather did not respect his first wife because she was taken from his older brother and given to him because older brother could not get her pregnant but his disrespect was particular to that one wife. He respected the other two he married. |
DEMZEE:Because I beg you. If you do not remind me I may not learn from my stupidity and error and will repeat it again. Like when it is time to elect the next President, I go and vote for Buhari. Remember, my ignorant choice is like rain. It will affect you too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZp-LLfDSc4 |
HellVictorinho:Neither do most people need the Bible to tell them what to do. And the Bible does not tell anyone what to do, though it is full of advice about what should be done. The Bible has it written in it for instance, that thou shalt not kill and thou shalt not lie, yet some Bible readers kill and lie. It is those who use their brains that tend to know why they should neither kill nor lie. |
HellVictorinho:As In, Don't you think the Bible is not absolutely necessary? No. I think the opposite. That the Bible is absolutely necessary. I am Nigerian, a country where half the population take the Bible as close to being a God. If I think it unnecessary then I am very unlikely to understand what influences those who think it is necessary, and my lack of understanding will make me sound like a fool. It is for this reason we learn in Buddhism to understand the religion of the people we dwell amongst, so that we can understand them when they speak and so we can speak their language. |
DEMZEE:You will at least remind me I was wrong so that I may learn from my error? |
HellVictorinho:Same reason I'd quote the Quran, or Plato, or Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart or Homer. Because I read them and learn. As is understood, "Humans shall not live by the bread in only one book or they will be malnourished". Matthew 4:4 |
DEMZEE:Promise you will rub it hard in my face on the day because I would very well deserve being told how stupidly ignorant I had been to think it could have possibly been Biden. |
Kriss216:If the above is your definition of the following: My 17 years old sister become pregnant after being raped You need to be carefully watched! www.nairaland.com/attachments/9764474_img20171031195618729_jpeg_jpeg06ce241846b7357d18a939481f3e9c6c |
LordReed:Yeah, I figured. Was she wearing a mini skirt? Not that that's an excuse for raping her. Just that the person who introduced her to the thread implied the mininess of her skirt had to do with the subject of the thread. |
