‘ Rinsola Abiola, daughter of late politician , Moshood Abiola , has renounced her membership of the All Progressives Congress .
Abiola relinquished her membership via letter that she sent to the APC chairman in her ward , Gbagura Ward 6 in Abeokuta North Local Government.
She shared a photo of the letter on her Twitter handle , @ Bint_ Moshood on Friday.
The Special Assistant to Speaker Yakubu Dogara, said although she had dumped the ruling party , she was yet to join another party .
She added that her choice of political platform would be informed by “ factors such as commitment to youth and women inclusion , and internal democracy in its true sense .”
Her followers have been responding to her announcement on Twitter , mostly in the positive, with some begging her not to join the Peoples Democratic Party .

though he did lots of work in his region I.e Nsukka, but his development isn't centralized. the truth is that in the name of urban and rural development, land grabbing has become the new trend. He started it, then the Igwes followed suit. there is hardly a town in Enugu now without internal communal land dispute.
moreover, I detest him for not maintaining the roads Sullivan built.
But as for moving to APC, he knows better than that.

In Lagos, plying on the Inland waterways are several commercial ferries and motorized high capacity boats. They are owned by private individuals, institutions and the Lagos state government.

They operate on the waterways in and around Lagos state. They are an alternative to traveling on the chaotic Lagos roads.

These ferry services are offered to transport commuters to a distant destination within minutes, as opposed to hours that it will normally take to travel to the same destination by roads.

A good number of Lagosians use them, especially those who reside in far-flung suburban axis but who work or trade in distant locations.

Autojosh.com was at some of the jetties built by NIWA (National Inland Waterways Authority), the Lagos state governments and some private individuals and institutions.

We got first hand information on how much it costs to patronize these commercial ferry services.

Our observation is that there are several, though slight, variations in the fares demanded for trips to some specific destinations. These variations are determined by the capacity of the engines of the ferries , the quality of the boats, etc.

However, we also observed something as it relates to the fares being charged by the ferry services operators: the amount currently being charged as fares by these commercial ferry operators would be significantly reduced if there were more ferries participating and competing with the few existing ones on the Lagos Inland waterways.

It goes without say, if this mode of mass transit is sincerely explored by the government, it would significantly decongest the roads and rid the state of the legendary road traffic gridlocks in Lagos.

Below are the average amount charged for ferry rides to different locations together with the average duration it takes to complete a trip.

sir, check again, the prices from ikorodu to anywhere in island is at least 700, be it ofin , Bayeiku, ebute or anywhere in ikorodu to Lekki, cms, Falomo, Cms, Ebute Ero or any other place.
prices are usually reviewed up and never down.

I have similar issues with Access bank. in my case, they didn't use ussd, they used an online platform called Tamara ( linked with pay with capture I was told).
they registered me before I could know my block the sim, then after I welcomed the sim back they logged in with their PC around 1am and withdrew a total of #74,500. I woke up to see the alerts.
painfully, it was transferred to a diamond bank account, which makes it very traceable, but my bank said they are limited by protocols.

I need an affordable hotel in Lagos mainland to stay for at least 3days.

preferred location: Ketu, Gbagada, Palmgroove, Onipanu, Fadeyi, Oyingbo, Bariga or the environments.
Budget: less than 8 thousand/ night.

I had earlier booked one at ketu through jumia travels only to receive a call this evening saying that the couldn't get me a reservation for tomorrow. Though the promised to get me an alternative but I am yet to hear from them.
pls help me with suggestions as this is urgently needed. My flight is expected to touch down by 1:40 tomorrow

The Oluwo of Iwoland in Osun state, Oba Adbulrasheed Akanbi Saturday made history when he dropped the the title of Oba and declared his resolve to adopt the Emir title popularly known with Northern traditional rulers.

Speaking at the installation and turbarning ceremony of an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yahquub Abdul-Baaqi Mohammed as first Waziri of Yoruba land, Oba Akanbi said he decided to now bear “Emir of Iwoland” because he wants to emulate the attitudes of northern Emirs.
According to Oluwo, Northern traditional rulers are better behaved than his counterparts from the Southwest saying Yoruba Obas are full of bickering, acrimony and enmities.
He said Yoruba traditional rulers lacks cooperation and expected royal characters saying the Yoruba Obas have been polarized owing to enmities.
Oba Akanbi said until Yoruba Obas come together, shun enmities and backbiting, Hausas would continue to rule Nigeria.
“I have decided to officially adopt Emir title today because I want to emulate the attitudes of Northern Emirs. They don’t begrudge themselves like Yoruba Obas.
” It will surprise you to discover that for the past two years, there has not been meeting of Yoruba traditional rulers just because of enmities. There is nothing strange in adopting Emir title. I am the Emir of Yorubaland,” Oluwo said.
Meanwhile, amid tight security presence, Oba Akanbi installed and turbarned an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yahquub Abdul-Baaqi Mohammed as first Waziri of Yoruba land.
At the well attended ceremony held at the palace of of the traditional ruler in Iwo on Saturday, Islamic scho)lars, Islamic organisations, Imams and Alfas, government functionaries among other notable personalities in the state were present.
The installation of the Waziri was against warning served on Oluwo by the League of Imams and Alfas in Southwest Nigeria, Edo and Delta States asking Oba Akanbi to desist from installing Alhaji Mohammed as the Waziri of the Southwest.
In a statement signed by the President , League of lmams and Alfas, Southwest Nigeria, Edo and Delta States, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere Bello urged Oba Akanbi to limit the title to Iwoland and not to the entire Yorubaland as being purported.
” The proposed installation of the said recipient by your Highness as the Waziri of Iwo land is no doubt the result of your avowed commitment to the development of lslam, the lwo Community and Osun State in general
“However, it is our considered hope that your Highness should as a matter of urgency correct the rumours making the round that the organisers of this event are trying to over blow the ceremony to capture the entire Yorubaland. This is not right.”
But Oba Akanbi shunned warnings by the Islamic leaders and installed the Waziri amid pomp and pageantry saying “Iwo has used this Waziri title to announce to the world that truly Iwo is the citadel of Islamic knowledge.”
The traditional ruler added that “Iwo has a unique and distinctive traditional history among the entire Yoruba race. And these peculiarities have made Iwo to be at the forefront in Yoruba land.
” The occasion of the installation of Waziri Yorubaland is another great opportunity to create the necessary awareness and promote to the entire world the deep Islamic culture and heritage in Iwo.
“Waziri did not come from Northern part of Hausa tribe but from God. So, there is nothing strange in installing Waziri. Yoruba has forgotten their history. Whoever is critisising me lacks history of Yorubaland,” the monarch noted.
The new Waziri promised to render selfless services that would promote religious growth and peaceful coexistence in Yorubaland.
