Hypocrisy in Nigeria government should be crushed. Nigerians need to be proud of their country for once, you shouldn't have to leave Nigeria and then start forming pride of your country. Nigerians living in Nigeria, rich or poor, should be proud of their country because of the benefits they get of being in Nigeria. |
Nigerians living in Nigeria, not in diaspora, sometimes act like meeting another country's president is a big thing. Macron is losing face with other Francophone countries in Africa, because they are cutting ties with France. We are a rich country with resources but we always believe our wealth is outside the country. Macron, Putin and all other foreign countries are looking to leech Nigeria resources big time and all some Nigerians do is praise the president or ministers when they shake hands with another fellow president from another country. |
https://www.occrp.org/en/news/us-blocks-records-on-nigerian-presidents-alleged-drug-ties Reported by Nneoma Omeje November 14, 2024 In a recent court filing, the agencies argued that confirming or denying the existence of records could compromise privacy interests and national security, as they responded to multiple Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests from plaintiff Aaron Greenspan. The case highlights ongoing tensions between transparency and the protection of sensitive information held by federal agencies. The CIA, FBI, and DEA jointly filed a statement opposing the release of unredacted files on Tinubu’s background, again citing national security concerns. According to the filing, disclosing these details could endanger U.S. interests abroad. Court documents from a Chicago case claim that in the early 1990s, Tinubu was linked to bank accounts allegedly used to launder money for a heroin ring in Chicago. Records from 1993 reveal that Tinubu, then a prominent figure in Lagos, agreed to forfeit assets to U.S. authorities in a plea bargain, sidestepping a potential trial on drug trafficking and money laundering charges. Nigerian journalist David Hundeyin, a vocal advocate for transparency on the issue, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the CIA, FBI, and DEA had recently submitted a memorandum opposing the release of Tinubu’s records. Intelligence officials argued that revealing such connections could “compromise U.S. national security” and referenced Tinubu’s possible status as a CIA asset. Amid public demands for transparency, the DEA echoed the CIA’s stance, maintaining that citizens are not entitled to unrestricted access to intelligence files. “We oppose the full, unredacted release of the DEA’s Bola Tinubu heroin trafficking investigation records because… they do not have a right to know what their president is up to,” the DEA stated. The agencies' position hinges on national security risks, with the CIA underscoring the potential consequences of either confirming or denying any ties to Tinubu. |
Terrorists, not bandits!!! Executions should be used, not catch and release like its done in New York, though in New York its mostly theft that catch and release is used for.. More rot and destruction will happen to any nation if the catch and release is still being carried out for Terrorists, not bandits. |
Melore:This may sound all good and innocent, however it is dangerous for a nation as big as Nigeria to be compared to Lagos. What happened to a normal competitive bidding process to win a crucial national asset? As long as there are no proper competitive bidding process where companies bid to win these contracts, there cannot be trust built. Tinubu is a human being, and the best he should have done was to establish good business competitive standards; you don't give national resources without an open contract bidding process for transparency. This is one of the reasons why Nigeria is considered a third-world country, even though we are older than a new country like Singapore which was once a third-world and became a first-world within some years. Anyhow, I come in peace and wish every Nigerian, living currently in Nigeria, peace and prosperity regardless of your tribe or language. |
Kobojunkieee:This is the gospel truth that I am surprised most Nigerians don't understand. How can a fellow citizen rejoice when a journalist is being intimidated, especially when it's an illegal arrest. Go read on free press, and what a democratic government is all about. If only every Nigerian know their rights and take it by force, the politicians will all be afraid and wary on discharging their duties to the country. |
seunmsg:They need this type of diligence and much more in handling bandits or terrorist in the North as well as all kidnappers. |
Until tribalism in voting presidential candidates is broken off and more technocrats lead the nation, I don't have much to say on Nigeria, but only a miracle from God can deliver the nation into Peace and Prosperity. |
Do your research after listening to whatever they tell you at their consultation: that's my only piece of advice to folks interested in consulting with any organization that make these claims |
SalamRushdie:There are honest people still in Nigeria. Please STOP generalizing! The parents can actually report to the embassy he traveled to and if they keep pressing on the issue, he could face deportation or extradition based on criminal charges. |
One major problem in Enugu state is that they do not provide the C of O to anyone which gives no rights to the owners of the property. This is very deceptive. I am igbo by the way, and these issues should be reviewed critically without tribal sentiments. Enugu State government should do better and not act as criminals, by giving home owners their C of Os. |
If they don't start prosecutions and executions, of these kidnappers or bandits, this sadly will not stop. |
Okortor:Why are you more interested on punishing a fellow soldier rather than properly investigating his concern? Soldiers are not robots; if this soldier complained using the chains of command, he may have died of hunger or intimidation. Man, be more conscious of your soldiers needs than your petty ego in punishing a poorly compensated soldier. You need to see yourself in the global military market, and watch your thinking process improve and your leadership style completely uplifting the cadets and junior officers reporting to you. The kind of upliftment I am talking about is morale, psychological, financial, health and mental wellbeing of any Nigerian soldier. Though I know there are disciplinary actions meted to soldiers for misdemeanor in foreign countries, there are far more interested in investigating the needs of their soldiers rather than just assuming soldiers do not have a voice. Listen to your fellow soldiers voices, because many Nigerian soldiers are suffering. Stop this nonsense of intimidation! Think differently and be a global military power; let Nigeria soldiers be proud again of being Nigerian soldiers! God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its leaders to do well for the country |
In a civilized nation companies try to solicit reviews from all customers, good or bad reviews. People supporting this same bullying attitude from the company will still want to travel to more civilized nations and be offering their bad reviews freely to any product in that civilized nation. Think constructively in these times in Nigeria because the old ways of thinking in Nigeria, intimidation, fear and bullying, has to stop. |
Firstly, these actions are not by the whole igbo tribes. If you look within, Nigeria is a playground for anyone to display violence. I pray for the safe return of this young man and any other persons kidnapped in any part of Nigeria. Please Nigerian youths, think critically nowadays. Boko Haram and ISWAP are still being called bandits and not terrorist which they are, but are quick to label a hungry attention-seeking set of miscreants called IPOB terrorists so quickly. Pay attention to how these wordings paint your emotions. Think, and don't limit your mindset to tribalism. Prosperity, peace, wealth and power doesn't work like that because the truth is that our differences should bring us together and not separate us. |
I don't know why Nigerians are bitter to each other. Start thinking in truth, that if one tribe is at war in Nigeria, the whole Nigeria will be at war. War is not what you will want! Talk and type your words carefully and knowing whatever words, written or spoken, that comes out of your mind, you're its first victim or recipient of it, be it evil or good intended for someone else. |

The financiers are the real enemies of Nigeria, but the government let's small-minded people curse each other on the basis of tribes while wiping out regions and expanding their bloodlust agenda. Never try to judge anyone by their tribe, but by the content of their character and actions. |
Thank you for your comment. How can anyone ascribe to God when it was obviously a rigged election by mammon and greed. God is just and righteous. Ecclesiastics 12: 13 & 14 says it all! May God continually defend and bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria with peace, prosperity and justice. SenatePresdo: |
Don't be celebrating corruption ooo...We need to allow fairness, even if you want a particular candidate to win, then why not be open to a completely fair electoral process. Some Nigerians are the ones who celebrate corruption leading the way, change your mindset. If a candidate is worthy, then why rig the election. Don't celebrate corruption, because when it starts biting you later, it will be too late. Celebrate fairness, and when your candidate wins, you know he was worthy, but it shouldn't be based on rigging. |
Can people just cease these tribalism hatred! How far can you continue living like this when Peter Obi daughter may be married to Tinubu son or vice versa , and they will be flexing life without this tribal hatred, but some people here carry it on their head to hate a fellow human being because of tribe. Stop the hatred, and from your own God-given conscience vote your candidate without spewing hate to another tribe. 'Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds', as Bob Marley said. By the way, I am for Peter Obi for Presidency. |
I wish I can keep on posting this reality comment continuously! Tell them.. Tochj: |
The reality of change for Nigeria is here: let everyone living in the country pray and vote for PO because he's the pivot that Nigeria needs, no more the entitled politicians mentality that has denied the masses from benefiting from a rich country like Nigeria. |
This is what happens when money is talking, but the nation is being raped. Use your sense in this election, and vote with your conscience not the money you received. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and her citizens. |
CoronaVirusRelo:Not crying at all and totally not based in the country, I'm just praying that citizens in the nation of Nigeria vote with their conscience, not the money they receive from the politicians. |
Na wa! This is what happens when money is talking, but the nation is being raped. Use your sense in this election, and vote with your conscience not the money you received |
I wish Nigerians will accept the fact that you're all Nigerians. If you hate your fellow Nigerians Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa or any other tribe because of greedy politicians, stop and think that all of you will fall if Nigeria is continually ruled by the same evils that is currently causing hardship. Don't think inspite of parties, but who will best salvage the future of the country. |
These are critical issues why Tinubu/Shettima and Atiku shouldn't be in power. How can people be vouching for Tinubu who put Buhari as President. Imagine being a former military general and Boko Haram are striving pretty well in the country, but yet nothing is done. Military has to be an enviable position, well-paid and taken care of soldiers and their families, will focus on eliminating the enemy. This ex military general Nigeria has had as a President certainly knows all about building a soldier morale and their determination, but didn't do much about it, rather he's claiming external influence on Boko Haram. As indicated by Abacha, if an issue is a country exceeds I believe a day or a week, I may have forgotten the duration, then the presidency is aware of it. May God continually bless Nigeria with outstanding and effective leadership to make Nigeria the true giant of Africa. |
The hateful words against each other is not the best. As Jonathan said, paraphrased, election should not be worth any Nigerian citizen blood. Let's learn, as Nigerians living in Nigeria and diaspora, to be more objective on issues. We tend to castigate and insult so easily which reflects in the leadership candidate we choose. I choose Peter Obi because Nigeria current direction has been directly and indirectly influenced by Tinubu and Atiku: according to Newtons 1st law, without an external force(Peter Obi) influencing an object direction (Nigeria current path), the object will keep on its current path. Others may choose Tinubu, and others choose Atiku, that shouldn't make you to insult your fellow citizen. Let's think differently, as the famed Bob Marley said in his song, "unleash yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our mind". |
Let's try not to insult each other. We all do love our nation Nigeria and wants what's good for her. In your own sphere of influence, are you making the right decision and making a safe and corruption-free zone in your world? I asked this because a society is a product of its people. Our time on earth is not so long for us to swear undying loyalty to another human being except your own conscience. If you have objectively, without tribal ties, looked at the state of Nigeria and decide to choose a particular candidate, that remains your statutory and civic right and duty. Make your vote count and let us learn to work with every tribe and nation to build our country. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬 and make all her citizens wise and prosperous. |
