Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Can A Person Be Denied Jobs Because Of Name Arrangement by Cactus(m): 11:55am On Sep 14, 2023 |
Yes. F be internationallyrom a legal point of view, the two names given are for two different people. Go do a change of name. If you ever plan to do or apply for anything internationally, it will be an issue. And that will be misrepresentation. Fix it or do change of name. It may not be an issue in Nigeria but it will definitely be internationally 1 Like |

Family / Advice Needed. In-laws Children Situation by Cactus(m): 5:19pm On Mar 07, 2021 |
This is in regards to my in-laws Children. Their mother passed away couple of years ago. Their father allowed them to stay with their mother's sister for two years before their father came to take them. Financially he cannot take care of them. One of the children stopped school. He is unable to pay the fees the other children need to pay at school. He threatens them from getting in touch with their mother's family members. When they were with their mother's sister, their father was supposed to be sending feeding money. After three months, it stopped. We pay school fees, buy clothes, give feeding money. Now he has taken then, the children are scared. He threatens them from talking to their mother's family members. One child stopped school. I strongly believe the others will stop if we do not intervene to help pay school fees because right from primary school, he finds it difficult to pay for school fees. He married another woman, she threatens them. Is there anything legally in the court one can do to be their primary guardian? Are there organization that one can contact. Serious advice needed? |

It may be Tinea versicolor Read about it. I had it before. Make sure anything you wear is dry. I got water resistant shoes. Make sure towels are dried. If you sweat a lot. Make sure your house is well ventilated. Also don't use anything that has perfume. Use baby products for your body Care And read about treatment option. Fyi, it is not transmittable off its Tinea versicolor. Funny have time to write much. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The Truth is bitter. We were caring for a relative in hospital with stage 4 heart failure. The doctors gave the family simple instructions that will stabilizer her. Unfortunately, a non related family meet her at the hospital to speak with her. The couple convinced hey husband to allow them take her to their house to pay. Less than two weeks she died leaving young children. We feel things should be solved by praying, fasting but we as individuals need to do or own part. If in Nigeria we workers are being paid per hour. How many people will you find going for service by 8am on Monday or through Friday. Pastors will not be as relevant because everyone is hustling to pay their bills. The church I attend outside Nigeria, we don't do tithe, no thanksgiving. Only a single offering during service. After you pay tax of 20 something percent to the government. You pay tithe how much is left to cover bills. I bet you many people that leave Nigeria to a Western country will have a softer view of religion. All any Nigerian in the West when Wed the last time they prayed against the devil. Or they prayed the type of prayer they used to pay when they were in Nigeria. Religion is holding us back in Nigeria. It may be difficult to admit but it is the truth. When I worked in a company in Nigeria and a problem occurs we will be asked to pray to find solution. Am like geez we know how to fix it why pray. 7 Likes 3 Shares |
Programming / Re: Guys Upwork Has Not Been On Side. No Job Since.... by Cactus(m): 3:26pm On Aug 26, 2019 |
I am also on upwork and I have made bids on projects but never got to interview stage. It is extremely competitive. I have previously sought for services on upwork. When I post projects, I seek experienced, high rated, service providers to work on the project. I shy away from new comers as they do not have reputation which does not mean they cant deliver a great service. It is all about perception. Unfortunately some of those that worked on my project where not great even though they have great reviews. I could have done the project myself with better outcome but based on the amount of work I had at hand at the time I pushed it out. So with my experience as a client, I decided to be a service provider as I could do better than what I was receiving. After signing up a couple months ago, till date, I have not gotten a project. I believe some reasons could be as I described above, no rating on upwork = avoid service provider. What some service providers end up doing is asking friends to post projects probably on projects less than 500 usd which they will bid on and win, so their money is basically coming back to them with upwork deductions. So they get high ratings, great comments and after a couple of these, they become established and no longer new service providers. I guess you can figure out the remaining part of the process. 25 Likes 3 Shares |
Travel / Re: Canada Is ‘Stealing’ Our Young People! by Cactus(m): 1:18pm On Aug 21, 2019 |
I studied in the usa in early 2000s after my graduation I chose to return to Nigeria. I had a good job that I made a lot of impact and drove the company forward based on my skills. I had difficulties with one of the managers who chose not to accept change and i felt under utilized, so I quit the job. Got another good job and worked hard. Things moved nicely during Jonathan's time business opportunities however as Buhari took over, hardly could I get a business meeting done. No one was interested. Feeling frustrated I started considering leaving Nigeria again. I was a bit mad at myself for returning to Nigeria saying had I known things will turn out this way but no one could have known. Finally I left the country for Canada as it is the easiest place to quickly move to. Am happy comfortable and those who I work with appreciate what I do and I can keep pace with advancements in my chosen profession. Canada is not stealing the most intelligent Nigerians, the government is letting them go. I had an interview I easily was qualified for when I first returned to Nigeria, the only reason I did not get the job was I did not have a Nigerian working experience. I was born Nigeria, did secondary school in Nigeria, bsc outside, returned to Nigeria and now I dont have Nigerian working experience though true but what about the Indians and other foreigners coming in. There are many qualified Nigerians who will fill their positions. I was once at a hotel while waiting cleaning was going on and an Indian guy who is a manager stood monitoring how the Nigerian cleaned. Do you think if the Nigerian had the opportunity to leave the country he will choose to stay? Nigeria is a very expensive country to live. If the issue of education, security, and power generation can be addressed properly, other industries will pickup and Nigeria will head towards a positive direction. Canada did not steal me, I chose to leave Nigeria for Canada because I do not feel the situation in Nigeria will improve anytime soon. How can a graduate who completed his/her academic studies since 2017 or longer be unemployed till now. 25 Likes 1 Share |

The website is https://ndsaward.com The whois information shows below Updated Date: 2019-03-15 Created Date: 2019-03-15 Registrar Expiration Date: 2020-03-15 Registrant Name: Niger Delta Scholarship Board Registrant Organization: Niger Delta Scholarship Board Registrant Street: Plot 21 Woji Road Off Olu Obasanjo Road, GRA Port Registrant City: Port Harcourt Registrant State/Province: Rivers Registrant Postal Code: 234801 Registrant Country: NG Registrant Phone: +234.7003355276 Registrant Phone Ext: Registrant Fax: Registrant Fax Ext: Registrant Email: ndscholarshipboard@gmail.com Registry Admin ID: Not Available From Registry Admin Name: Niger Delta Scholarship Board Admin Organization: Niger Delta Scholarship Board Admin Street: Plot 21 Woji Road Off Olu Obasanjo Road, GRA Port Admin City: Port Harcourt Admin State/Province: Rivers - Note it was created this month and a scholarship program is already out on it. - The contact email is @gmail.com If we look up the registrant phone number on truecaller (07003355276) The name comes up as Niger Delta Joint, 0700 335 5276, Uan - Alpha Technologies Then on the homepage at the footer of https://ndsaward.com it says Copyright © 2019 Niger Delta Joint Scholarship Board. Health / Re: Unfortunate Deaths In Our Hospitals; A Nurse's Perspective by Cactus(m): 8:16am On Nov 07, 2015 |
In response to the payment part. I understand from op narration it was an emergency. But for patients who have been registered and hospitals still ask for money before service. What is stopping hospitals from advising patients from the first day of registration to also apply for national health insurance scheme. I do know that not all hospitals are part of this scheme. It works. With 20000 per year you can Gert good coverage including delivery fully paid for by the scheme. With this hospitals are guaranteed payment. I also know that the scheme pay hospitals a nominal fee of 50 naira or less per month per registered patient. Even during emergencies money should not be an issue. The good thing with nhis scheme is also patients get to review hospitals and you can change. So a hospital receiving bad reviews will be forced to improver itself. The main issue will now be mushroom hospitals with no facility and people will avoid them. we can also look at proximity to patients during emergencies as the better option. knowing the trend willll be to refer to general hospitals or better ones on the nhis scheme. By the time people know more as bout his. I believe things will improve 4 Likes |

Webmasters / Do not register with Smartweb Hosting, they won't to refund my money by Cactus(m): 8:38pm On Sep 19, 2014 |
Things used to be better with smartweb now their hosting service is no longer inviting to users. I wanted to buy hosting and domain, for several hours now that I placed the order, I am being asked to provide certificate of registration for the company? I even uploaded the content of the site to a different server for them to take a look after I was asked why do I want to register the domain. This is their response: -------------- Hello sir, I am sorry that we need a verification before registering such sites. A certificate of registration can serve. I will be glad to assist if you have any issue. Smartweb.com.ng ----------------------------- Was I supposed to ask the company for their certificate of incorporation as a freelancer? The site in question is for a shipping company. I have requested a refund but no response yet. Has anyone successfully gotten a refund from smartweb? Why do we like ruining our business? 1 Like |

Webmasters / Constructive Information Required: Interswitch, Paga, Etranzact by Cactus(m): 10:16am On Sep 04, 2014 |
I need constructive information regarding the serves of Interswitch, Paga, and eTranzact. I need to integrate a payment system that I can use to settle multiple accounts. That is, I render a service (Owner) that individuals (Subscribers) can subscribe and customers (Customers) pay for whatever service is rendered by Subscribers. Owner = Owns service Subscriber = Has a web front from service Customer = Can buy from any web front The critical thing here is that I need instant settle to each subscriber account. Interswitch = this could mean being an aggregator, I need to know the requirements to be an aggregator and fees involved. High Cost eTranzact = I have no clue how their service works and dont know their fees Paga = Easy to sign up with requirements fulfilled. This is what I am actually considering to use because of the high cost of Interswitch. But I dont know if they have the function to enable instant settle to multiple accounts. And I was looking for their API to test. If any has API kindly let me know. Honestly, I am looking for something affordable. If Paga and eTranzact are not possible then will flow with Interswitch (what I am avoid with interswitch is paying 150k for each subscriber and I think the aggregator function takes care of this if not please explain) I dont want voguepay or any other aggregator, their implementation is unfriendly and high prices. Your advice will be appreciated. |
