Ok so here I am helping a friend to build her website (blogging, using wordpress) for FREE, 0$. I volunteered to help her for FREE. Now she is pissing me off because I suggested design and she says no she wants some crappy-ass messed up design.

You can use Joomla so that you make the cash and give the client a solution

Choosing a solution is not a simple thing to do.

I have a project i may start working on next year. I was thinking of using an opensource but after looking and researching. I will end up paying to have it developed. I dont want to pay. But, that is the best choice to avoid implementation mistakes and have a stable solution. If things fail, then I cant complain my software was bad.

Depending on specs 500 000 naira is not much.

I am not a designer. I don't do much web development. But if I have to do web development, I will not call myself a designer. Many people call themselves designers but they may actually be developers.

I would strongly recommend you to buy a solution if you cant make one. You may want to do it the cheapest way possible, but sometimes, might be easier to buy.

By the time you finish a four year degree in computer science or information technology things have changed compared to four years ago. Most of what people should know ought to be through self study or practice. You may then say IT infrastructure not so great or not many people can own computers.

You will get a bunch of things that will be useful in selfstudy. There are so many books online, many tutorials online. The amount of information available online is incredible. So there is no need to complain about how bad the university system is. Get online and great resources to use.

If you are complaining about computer science in nigerian universities. What do you want those studying chemistry, medicine, etc to do? These people need labs to get things done, though they can read. but not same experience. This is the upside of software related computer learning.

You have a computer, you have internet, use opensource tools, and you can become a superstar.

Sometimes I cringe when I hear Joomla. It is just toooooooooooooooooo heavy. But I guess sthat is what makes it robust.

You need to replace the fluorescent lamps in the screen. Both left and right. It is called CCFL Cold cathode fluorescent lamp. If you unplug it from a power supply, there is less voltage so it may not flicker. But when connected to a power source, when it starts flickering, That means you need to get replacements.

They are very cheap not sure how much they cost where you are but not expensive at all.

well, i dont see many blacks in shanghai. i was actally quite shocked seeing the way people stared at me. It never bothered me. Nothing bad or mean just curious. When I tell people am nigeria them seem happy and sort of interested, first they talk about oil and football. generally, the people themselves are great. Some govt policies not so great.

In big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu etc. the cities are great but if you go to smaller cities they are cool and obviously cheaper to live. less cars and pollution so feels nice seeing blue sky.

8. Your terms page looks better if you remove all the boxes and hr or the line below the heading. Try it.

I think the observation deck at the top is made of glass floor not sure. I havent been to the top yet. expensive. So you can imagine looking down or looking up and the cloud just some meters above you.
