N206bn waste. If 10,000 Nigerian youths who don't have any connects go to any of these nonsense so-called financial institutions each for N1m loans (N10bn altogether) to fund solid business ideas or ongoing ventures that will employ at least, one person each and grow our comatose economy, they'd either manage to turn down all 10,000 of them or request that they meet impossible requirements and peg the loan at 20% (or more) interest rate. When the economy was so much better plus $1.2bn loan, etisalat still managed to make a loss. Now, in this economically demonic hBuharee era, they want to raise the dead with N206bn of uber-scarce funds. I better goan move my hard earned money from 3 out of these 10 banks where I have accounts to others that aren't, to avoid stories that touch. Penny wise, pound foolish. |
Even this report smacks of sheer one-sidedness. The fourth paragraph alleges that both parties " . . . engaged in a serious war, killing each other, burning down houses and kidnapping people here and there. . . " The remaining paragraphs allege that the atrocities were all committed by one on another. One shouldn't be surprised to hear a totally different story from the other end. |
Even common jollof competition, we cannot win. This Buhari administration sef |

In my humble opinion, the right remuneration is required to afford staff some minimum level of welfare and also support staff motivation to reduce staff turnover rate. How do you select based on these skills and qualities (that virtually all other companies use) on a lean budget that is common to most budding enterprises and keep the staff so selected for up to 3 years? |
Buhari is back. US$ 1: NGN 370 In November 2013, I paid 15000 CFA for a hotel room (L'hotel Vickinfel de Gahin, Cotonou). At the time, it's equivalent was about NGN 3,000. In 2015, I still paid 15,000 CFA for same. A fortnight ago, I paid the same 15,000 CFA which is now about NGN11k. Prices of everything has remained constant in Benin Republic. 50 CFA bike rides from 4yrs ago have remained so till today. One of the implications is the fast disappearance of made in Nigeria products in our neighbouring countries. Back then in 2015, there was Ragolis®, Eva® and Swan® everywhere in Cotonou but today, it's not available even at the border. Another issue are the Nigerian agency officials working at the border. When entering Benin Republic as an alien or their citizen, one is attended to by 2 (two) officials: a health official that checks the yellow booklet and the immigration official that records one's entry or exit and collects N500 (five hundred naira). On the Nigerian end there are 5 (five) posts where, at each point, one is ultimately asked to part with sums ranging from N200 to N500. One begins to wonder what the use of changing the immigrations bosses was. Anyways, what do I know? The way the government keeps ignoring pertinent issues to focus on petty divisive matters, we might be required to get a visa to travel to Benin Republic and Ghana. |

Oga Op, this is an unfair comparison nau. Because of work wey my bbQ10 (MY 2013) dey do seamlessly, my Tecno w3 (MY 2016) dey restart upandan. More seriously, why is my Tecno W3 refusing to save and download to memory card after changing the settings accordingly? |

Cool There used to be a nature park (plus pool and navigable lake) in the valley behind the mountain on which Premier Hotel sits and a strip club at New Bodija a couple of years ago. You don't need to disclose but I hope you were able to check 'em out. |

Okay so, I want to get this straight. Imagine the other Otedola girl or the female Dangote offspring who's potentially a co-owner of the business comes Mr. Dumelo's way. Is he trying to say that he'll turn them down? |
The power of social media cannot be overemphasized. If we focus on one problem at a time and generate enough meaningful discussions on all the major social media channels and platforms on the problem, our voice shall be heard and appropriate action taken. And then, on to the next problem. |

poseidon12:I don't know why people like you keep missing the message. Standard student housing my foot! There's a reason why each of these developments made the cut. Go figure! The on-campus MIT accomodation was privately built but it's a luxury accommodation. The HUB was built at a cost of $17.5m! The typical student would have to spend about $8500 [~N3m] per annum to stay there, net of utils & servs. Some of them even have pools. So, what's my point? These are luxury services. The Op made a compilation of different brands of a luxury service from different locations globally and some of you here are comparing it to what obtains in Nigeria. In my humble opinion, the most beautiful and best-managed of hostel accomodations that I have seen is the Tafawa Balewa PG Hall in Ibadan. However, it can't be compared to standard accommodation in any of the above-named countries because the systems and services established there over 50 years ago, though relatively well-managed haven't been updated. You rejoinder is equally untrue about being more cost effective by saving on transport. Most of the private developments are farther than school-administered accommodation. Definitely untrue about rent being inclusive of utils & serv. |
