Lagos was never part of western region.

If you look at the old regions, you will see that the old eastern region components faired better as predicted, '' the fastest growing economy".

What the whole old western region(mid Western inclusive) gathered is just 250 billion naira which is below that of old eastern region and if you remove mid eastern region , the revenue of old eastern region revenue is twice that of western region.

In essence, OLD WESTERN REGION excluding MID WESTERN is poor and this confirms why they are against BIAFRA. Post COVID-19 will reveal this as done in 2015.

Finally, it's better never imagined what old western region would become without proximity to Lagos.

Most did not want to leave but for the political class. The minorities in the eastern region were almost 45%, and they had the most resources, land etc but the Igbos greatly marginalised them with their renowned nepotism and tribalism.

The minorities were given 9 out of 26 positions.
This is sheer wickedness from the Igbos.
The minorities in the east were very much eager to be cut off from the Igbo but the minorities of the western region were very sad but for their political leaders.

Ibadan was the capital and it is understandable that the bulk of development will be there and the bulk of the money used in developing Yorubaland and even Benin-Delta came from cocoa. How much is the tax being paid now talk less of then when stipends were taken as taxes and just a few usually paid the tax
Most of the Midwesterner enjoyed free medical care, free education etc.

Most of the citizens did not want to go but for the political leadership..

THIS IS FROM THE ARTICLE:

In the weeks preceding the formal launching of the united Action Group at Owo from April 28 30, 1951, Anthony Enahoro had organized a meeting of Benin and Warri leaders of thought in Sapele, ostensibly to discuss Midwestern solidarity. People like Gaius Obaseki, Arthur Prest, Festus Edah (Okotie-Eboh), Okorodudu, S. O. Ighodaro etc. were present. At the meeting, most participants expressed sentiments against the creation of a separate midwestern region. However, two dissenters, Chike Ekwuyasi and E. O. Imafidon who were present, rushed back to Benin to alert Omo-Osagie who then called a rally of his own and initiated counter-measures [Oronsaye, op. cit.; Uwaifo, op. cit
Where did you get your 45% from?
We have 8 states from the old eastern region namely Anambra, Ebonyi, Imo, Enugu, Abia, rivers, Akwa Ibom and cross river.

All the south east are igbo and in the present rivers state, Ahoada province, etche, all ikwerre LGA, And Ndoki/Asa were classified as Igbo prior to state creation.

We can deduce from the above that :

A. Rivers state is over 65% igbo based on old eastern REGION.
B. IF the A above is correct, it means the mminoriy(apologies for describing indigenous people as that) are like 30% of the old Eastern region. This can be deduced from the fact that the Igbo still occupies close to Six of the Eight present states.

Please post facts and don't just post because you want to win an argument. There was never a time they were 45%.

Do you know the percentage of Igbo land in present rivers state? In that article, etche and ekpeye are in present rivers state and they held positions.

You haven't answered my question. Who do you pay your tithe to? Where is it commanded to pay? Who is authorized to collect/receive such?

We have harvest, offering, and so many ways of raising money for church operation.

There are two tithe here,
1, tithe commanded by God-This one most go to God not negotiable.
2, tithe given to the poor after you most have done the former. is more like alms-giving.
Which tithe must go to God? That's how you business men deceive your followers and not followers of Christ.
The first and second year of your tithe is for your consumption in the house of God and not to be given to yours pastors or God. God doesn't need that useless paper.

The third one is for poor and less privileged without forgetting the priest

You practice tithing to always be conscious of the fact that every goodies come from God.

Finally, in all the verses where tithes are mentioned, you have power over the tithe and not this modern preaching of pastors/guy men keeping your tithe.

I agree with your submissions, except the 5. We don't need any form of union with non Igbo groups down south. The toxicity and resentment coming from those quarters has passed the threshold that would make such arrangements worth sacrificing the lure of homogeneous Igbo country for.
I believe we can relate with all of them through AU and ECOWAS as mere neighbors. Those people are not our friends or enemies, and to mistake them for brothers or kins is the highest height of delusion. They are just neighbors with interests some of which are in clash with Igbo interests, and we must relate with them like we should relate with the rest of humanity. Not with love or hate, as no such emotions exist in international relations, but strictly for business and aim to protect and advance Igbo interests. We work with them in areas their interest align with ours, and work against them, where their interest is injurious to ours.
This is how we rebuild Igboland. Emotionalism must make way for pragmatism. But under no circumstances will I be a party to any form of arrangements that involves forming a country with non Igbo groups down there.

You have a point on need of forming an alternative group to present a better front for Biafra actualization. Onlytruth the last Eze Ndiigbo in NL talked extensively about this years ago, when we figured out that MASSOB was dysfunctional, this was before IPOB came on board.
Its a good idea, but I think if we can get IPOB to have a rechange of strategy and accept our suggestions, it would be better than starting to build a new organization from scratch and start clashing with IPOB, which we further divide our camp and set us more backward as far as this battle for Igbo independence is involved. For now, I think we should apply more pressure on IPOB to change, forming an alternative group and abandoning the wonderful structure IPOB has built across the entire world to start afresh, doesn't sit well with me. I believe IPOB should be given more time to correct her own mistakes. The more we apply pressure by being vocal.on need for Pure Igbo country, the more we win over our people in IPOB.

You can join us at Proudly Anioma, Proudly Igbo page ,if you want to exchange ideas with people who believe on Igbo only Biafra, also you can.join Igbo Omenana/Omenala defenders project group
( though, these ones are pro jewish Igbos, which I don't support, but atleast, they are Igbo purists who believe in Igbo only country).

Chukwu gozie gi.
That's the way to go. We don't need non igbo group for any reason whatever.

The earlier we start seeing them in way we see other tribes in Nigeria, the better for us.
I like what umahi, Obiano and Uzodinmma is doing. We are igbo and have a major stake in Nigeria as Long as this country stands.

In 2023,we will correct all that and take our rightful position in this present country while working for an igbo nation.

PoliticsRe: South East Should Stop Disrespecting The Niger Delta by caleboxylic: 7:13am On May 07, 2020
efe2real:
This thread is really hilarious. It shows Nairaland is different from reality. The question I keep asking myself is that how come a tribe that you can find in every nook and cranny in this country does not know other tribes opinion about them? Anybody that have stayed in Benin, Warri, Yenegoa, and Portharcourt will know that the non-igbo speaking tribes in these states do not want to have anything to do with Biafra. But one IPOB member in Abia thinks otherwise because he thinks life starts and ends on Nairaland. Even, most of the igbo-speaking are yet to accept that they are even Igbos.

The next card that IPOB is playing is that the tribes in the South South or Niger Delta are not united. Sadly, they are right, but everything is all about negotiation and compromise. Even the so-called Igbos are not even united. Of course, anyone that has stayed in Igbo land knows Ebonyi people are the rags used to clean the ground in the South East. Most even view them as inferior Igbos or denied them as Igbos. What about the Enugu (in particular Nsukka) igbos that are viewed as 'wawa' Igbos. Of course, an anambra man will view himself as a superior Igbo compared to others. Let's not forget about the aniomas that are referred to as fake Igbos already. Imagine an ugochukwu from Anambra is referring to an Ugochukwu from Delta State as fake Igbo. SMH. But, you will see Igbos in Nairaland painting themselves like they all love themselves like saimese twins. No one should deceive anyone on Nairaland that the Igbos are united and loved themselves so much. Most of us have stayed in the East before, so we know what's up over there.

One thing people should realise is the Igbos are not different from the Hausas and Yorubas. In fact, they are even worse because of their greediness and cunny way of life. As far as I am concerned, all this Biafra agitation is just a smokescreen to control the resources of the tribes in the South South region all by themselves. Biafra with the tribes of the Niger Delta will be Nigeria all over again, but this time the Igbos will be in exactly the position they have always dreamt of: the sole controller of the resources of the Niger Delta. Most of us can see through their deceits.

I don't have any issue with Biafra as long they go with their Igbo-speaking brothers (those that want to follow them anyway). The non-igbo speaking tribes in the region will decide their fate themselves (that is even if Nigeria should stop co-existing). And personally, I think Niger Delta republic is the best bet for the tribes in the region. There, the tribes can practice true federalism and state should be created along ethnic lines and be in total control of their resources and the center should be made weak. Then, l, as an Urhobo man, will know who to hold responsible when things go bad in my state. Of course, it will not be the president because I don't have business with him. Well it is just an opinion that can be fine-tuned and worked on. But Niger Delta as a country can thrive peacefully and successfully. Biafra is a no no. I believe nobody from the south south wants Nigeria Again Part 2 to happen in Biafra except the Igbos, of course.
Shut your mouth up. Do you know the meaning of Wawa? Do you know what it stands for? Do you know the people call Wawa in igbo land?

WAWA means no ; just as MBA means no.

exactly my brother. They're really irritating, you hardly see hausas or Yorubas involve themselves in our discussions but some igbos will jump into it and start forming Lord's.
There is a reason to that. Few igbo here do that because, your present ND includes the igbo clans in SS which we are against. We want all igbo clans to form a republic when the time comes. Nigeria won't last forever.

I challange you to open a thread and redraw you ND map excluding the igbo speaking part of Present SS geopolitical zone except Ikwerre(they are not Igbo as they claimed) ; No igbo man will interfere unless the impostors.

This is the only solution to avoid igbo comments on your new ND territory. As long as you include all the present SS geopolitical zone in your ND, then Igbo are the second majority behind Ijaw nation and have every right to discuss it.
