All these lies about rice is what I don't understand. Agreed we are now producing rice better but saying we've cut importation by 90% is either a blatant lie or this government is truly out of touch. |
Arondizuogu:Push? Are you sure you saw the same match I did tonight??. |
Cromcruach91:You're wrong. Trust me what we needed would have been a credit economy. I'm not a fan of free education but human capital development. Imagine after $20b of our so called $45b invested into education and agriculture. The multipliers would be millions of jobs and reduced poverty. But then we prefer to save to claim cheap political scores. In the end the savings hasn't made Naira stronger. |
I remember about a year ago when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was paying unscheduled visits to government institutions. The media hype over such visits was actually what gave me the conviction then that is was just to hogwash the citizenry. The steam is now down and it's the formula of stolen funds. I think the difference between our leaders and those in other clans are just simply that you can't give what you do not have. They're after all products of our society. Nigerians we can actually take our country back from these politicians only if we are indeed ready. It shouldn't matter who becomes the President or where he/she comes from. I am so amazed as to how we have accepted faith that North must rule for another 4 years instead of asking for the manifestos and pedigree of those who are vying for office. No one not America or Britain will do what we must do for us. Let us wake up from all corners of this nation and take the country back. After all we have the numbers. |
He only said completed didn't say started. Na wa o |
congorasta:You should fast to rebuke it |
I've always had my reservations against people calling you a dumb lier but with this interview you just justified you are truly a lier the devil himself will be afraid of. You listed Secondus' name because you claimed he received #100m in cash. How do you expect that to hold in court. It would have been better if the money was transfered to his account but cash payment?? Damn!!! |
fiizznation:I disagree. We can get a new candidate and make him the darling of the electorate, not necessary the professional politicians we have everywhere. |
The Oluwo is actually just trying to create attention. Mind you an Emir is just a religious title. There are only 2 kings in the North; Sultan and Shehu of Bornu. However, the crown in Yoruba land is a property of the Ogboni cult and I am certain the government gave a letter of appointment to the Oluwo of Iwo land so right now since the Oluwo stool is vacant, the government can appoint another Oluwo while the Emir can continue his Emirship. |
KingsleyCEO:My brother abeg take am easy now. Laugh wan kill me here o. |
Yyeske: EVarn:Can you imagine you who are not armchair economists o. Tell me what reserves China built during the 80s revolution o. I insist the best way to successfully build an economy is to focus on human capital. What the post seeks pass across is that we don't need these stupid noise on foreign reserves. Invest the money in the people (technology, science, agricultural),/researches and see our reliance of foreign goods disappear hence better economy. Not bogus numbers of harvesting 17m tons of rice or claiming Thailand has shut all it's rice mills. Quoting Bill Gates "Dangote told me he didn't become rich by selling sugar he doesn't have" Imagine how many tractors do we have per hectare in Nigeria? Till date we can't fix Ajaokuta steel or finance to build a new steel plant yet we are saving forex. |
dvee2:You're such a chump. I was responding to every question raised by the OP then and mind you yes the home grown feeding program under Yar'Adua was an FG/UNESCO initiative. So who's a product of failed education? Someone who can refer to a project initiated and happenings of a decade ago or someone who can't even remember what happened a year back...UH? |
adanny01:My brother I traveled on that train about 6 times last December when I visited the North. As a matter of fact it's the only "real" infrastructure Nigeria has. The rigasa road leading to the airport was tarred (start to finish o, while the Abuja runway was undergoing reconstruction) I learnt in less than 4 weeks while the one leading to town hasn't been tarred in over 3 years because of course the poor may die. I'm sure that's the state government at work. Not to take away anything, the train station in Idu is world class unlike the bus stop here in Lagos. A train station that has elevator right to the coaches of the train. Trust me except for "speed" that rail trip is 100% better than flying by Air (I can stand on my claim). Although you only get the best services at Idu and Rigasa other stations are already corruption ridden with ticket hoarding and round tripping by staff. The infrastructure actually gave me hope that Nigeria can be great when we have serious people in charge. The whole damn thing didn't cost $2b and I wonder why we can't be constructing such every 6 months rather baba is saving up and down when Almighty America doesn't even have up to $200B in savings but has an economy worth $19T. Quoting Bill Gates "Dangote told me he didn't become reach by selling what he doesn't have" Nigeria can't get anywhere until we forget politics and think of the welfare of the citizenry. |
dvee2:Totally false. Are you paid to do all this? I'll tell you for a fact the school feeding as been on here in Osun state for more than a decade. Go back to your history books. It was initiated since the days of Yar'adua. Agreed very few states keyed into it. APC truthfully increased the number of participating states but still not 100% till now. Do you know why? Because during the campaigns they never mentioned they would be needing counterpart funding from states. All they did was repackage and make a hell of noise about it. During the campaign they never said Npower would only last 2 years. They made it look like a permanent job. Check your history books for that too. Imagine having a job and after 2 years you're out of job again. That's very bad strategy. The Nigerian air force or army never went a year without buying equipment, agreed majority of the funds may be diverted. Remember just last month in our corruption index, Transparency international accused our military of corruption. On the ferterlizer thing truly a great move but remember we've never had shortage of ferterlizer except now prices are down and yes kudos to government for that. But ferterlizer is down and everything else is high, fuel to transport goods and parts for farm machinery and other chemicals are more expensive due to fall of the naira. So that power plant was built by FG abi? Your case is beyond redemption. |
adanny01:Namely? The 98% completed rail from Abuja - Kaduna abi? Your case is different walahi. |
pol23:Sorry Leah is still missing... |
Sorry...here is the update.
|
Although this was 2 years ago. The Almighty America instead of keeping money with the government would rather have it spread to the citizenry for optimum usage. Nigerian leaders develop us instead of saving and making a mountain out of it. Human development is the only way. Anything else na wash!

As much as I have issues with Jonathan and his government, the excuses people are raising to justify what is happening under PMB is wrong. World over government provides subsidies for citizens. Till date the American government is still subsidizing food by buying from farmers high and selling cheap, Chinese government is giving farmers negative loans i.e. borrow #100 and pay back #98. So, that government was subsidising is not stupid management rather saving only and not investing in human capital is the worst economic plan you can imagine. We now have $45b is reserve as claimed yet Naira is not improving. After claiming to spend over 500B alone in 2017 budget on capital projects it's clearly not evident but GEJ that VP claimed spent 90B on capital projects still fixed Benin-Ore road section, Abuja airport road, Kubwa express in Abuja, 10million MT of grains reserved and new silos built. Nigerians enough of this deceit. APC is taking us for a fool no excuses. They either show us where they are keeping our billions or go to hell. |
You call these stupidity dividends of democracy? SUV for economically useless "Kings". I bet one SUV will buy 15 of those Keke. Why not set up a soap factory in each of their domains and see revenue coming in everyday?. |
deomelllo:You're not serious at all. Lauretta your hero specifically mentioned the Kings family in her post, claiming they were present at the award presentation. Are you now saying Lauretta doesn't speak for the presidency again? Mind you in its rebuttal the King center said neither the center nor children are aware of such awards. Learn to support using your head. Agreed no one is perfect but you shouldn't always support everything just because you're too afraid your Lords have just been scammed! |
humilitypays:Why would you judge a whole tribe because of a few on NL, the fact here is most Yoruba's are no longer with this APC, trust me we Yoruba's never follow same group forever, check out our governors I can authoritatively tell you Lagos has remained Tinubu's hold till today because Igbo's have always supported his moves until last elections. Pls reason with your head not heart. |
Sometimes earlier in the year Mr Tinubu was almost leaving in the villa following the president everywhere and doing everything together. Lately that has changed again. I hope all ruling class continue to disagree genuinely so it can be an advantage to the masses. |
