When the ACN took over the SW in 1999, they wasted no time renaming every edifice within their states to "honour" Abiola.

Abiola is the only individual in Nigeria to have the most public edifices renamed after him and we can thank the Yoruba ACN party for this.

And who told you that universities can not be named after an individual?

I know of OAU Ladotech and even a state university in Abeokuta that was renamed after Abiola in 1999.

This same UNILAG benefited immensely from same Abiola who not only donated cash to the school but has many buildings on campus built by him.

As at the day of the election and the constitution of Nigeria, the electorate were legally allowed to vote for APC and I dare anyone to dispute this.

This just goes down as another shameful ruling from the supreme court though probably less shameful the one one that made Amaechi governor for an election he never campaigned in.

The funny thing is that most people supporting this injustice are doing so on party lines but I wonder how they will feel when the new governor finally decamps back to his APC. Then they will understand the script and finally see the handwriting on the wall. Pathetic.

As a fellow Yoruba person (before I get bashed) I don't think she deserves this. She's too partisan and also I haven't seen major achievement since she's been adviser on diaspora. This is someone who has in past bashed disaporans open for criticising the President. If noise making and issue press statement is what makes "fellow Nairalanders" believes she deserves this, then I have to say our taste and understanding for round peg in round holes is worrisome. From my understanding the issue is of proof and not electoral law or otherwise. Aregbesola got his mandate in 2010 same as Mimiko in 2016 solely based on forensics. There was no room for forensics in the electoral law either but it proved their cases and exposed multiple voting, also hidden cameras exposed violence during the 2015 general elections.

This very moment I believe truly we have many "educated illitrates" in this country. The op was clear enough. He wasn't for any party but simply questioned why the number of accredited voters not votes recorded differs between senatorial figures and presidential figures.

I think you can all enjoy your delusion while it lasts but here are my views on this...we yorubas are a very complex lot, very hard to please and we seldom follow leaders or have any. Since the days of Awolowo we never get enticed by the promise of the centre. Apart from Lagos, all other states have been at some point won by opposition. We are hard to please and Osun was a case study. Even Omisore may loose ife now simply because he traded our trust and votes for selfish gains. He may have lost Ife forever.

I can bet you PDP will surpise many here in the South West. In all fairness to Buhari he was good to us in appointments but the Yorubas he picked failed us. The only legacy of this govt so far is rail and that's kudos to Amaechi (non yoruba). The rail however hasn't changed the views of road users. In 4 years of APC Lagos Ibadan is still about 50% completed. Fashola could have done better. Ports remain congested. Akerodolu has been poor and Oyetola even seems less interested in being governor.

This election ought to be PDPs finally burial but the failure of APC gave PDP a new lifeline. Listen more to TVC hangout and hear Otitoloju speak. All sentiments apart Atiku seems more preferred. APC spent months saying Atiku cant enter America.. the rest is history ...
