I would love to say a few words. its not nice that you have insulted everyone who cautioned you.. you could have pointed at her errors without joining her. anyways i understand you were angry, and we all do uninteligent things when angry. it would be nice if you make peace with everyone, doesnt mean you didnt have some points... but if we focus on being right, there would be no room for peace.

what is funny is that none of those criticsing, took up the challenge to explain what CRS is.. I would think that would have been an opportunity to prove a point.

.

Lmao @ bolded. That's what happens when one runs around like a headless chicken hunting Canadianfly cheesy cheesy

Peace y'all. It's a beautiful Sunday kiss

I dont know how else to say this and dont want to exercerbate the whole issue but you really need to tone down. your words could be fashioned alot better. A number of your comments really came off derisive, and it just shifts attention from your points. This is not to say you havent been very helpful or an integral part of this thread, I and a number of folks have acknowledged your contribution to our journey in the past and many more would in the future..

Hahahahaha it's so funny how y'all say this thread contribution, as if anyone gets paid for it. Outside being commended on here and accolades, what else does anyone get from answering questions here? Nothing LOL.
Anyway, I'm not in the business of fashioning words. It's a free world, no one has to read or respond to my posts. The problem is y'all take me waaaay too serious than I even take myself, that's why it irks y'all. Looool. If you take me as an unserious person, I promise you that una no go dey vex anytime I write anything. Just try it and you'll see Canadianfly won't get under your skin anymore grin
That's what I do, I don't take anyone here serious.

That being said, anyone is free to ask any question they like, when I say do your own research...it's for your own benefit not mine. No one knows it all.

Lol this obsession is REAL. grin

Aunty please I do not know Hamiltondreamer, doubt we've ever even quoted each other, let alone know ourselves. Why you have attacked everyone, even from Kontagious to now only tells me I thief ya thing cheesy
Ain't no way this is about NL alone, in any case...Biko continue the madness but reduce how you write Canadianfly Biko. 6 mentions just from your 2 abi 3 posts. no be say your mentions dey give person boost on top CRS grin

I didn't think there was going to be anyone lower than aunty Joanna in irritation...but my dear you take the win in this one. grin

I won't address your attention seeking self anymore.

Buhahahahaha

I come online and I see 13 mentions, and I'm like ogini? grin

Only to come and see that while I was at a children's party with the fam, folks on here were popping nerves coz of me? Wow! I'm so honored walahi! Everyday someone just wants to roll with me in whatever a way, I was like who the sliced bread is Owlette? Do I know it? But s'all good..the other day someone registered on NL just coz of me, LMAO. So this could just be another case. I swear I didn't know I was this gooood, lil ol me sha grin

No be to write come back, you for highlight what sentences in that post that was rude? When I specifically wrote I wasn't dissing. I may just take it as lack of attention and you needed one. Good, I noticed. grin
Some of y'all need to get over yourselves! The truth is I don't sugar coat anything when I talk to Nigerians who live in Nigeria and accept the harsh conditions of living in Nigeria and their leaders. If my post causes someone to be scared and have fear, then maybe you are not ready to take that big step in life. When you are not oyibo. If you have questions and you don't ask coz you are scared, then you probably need better friends in real life. How can someone be talking about fear on a FACELESS FORUM? Where you have a choice of using whatever you like as a username? And you are scared? Of who? Me? Do I know anybody on here offline? No. Does anyone know me offline? Hell No. So what's the worst I can do, no be to type and go and sleep? That's why soqmeone will say they have fear of posting here? Lol then your question is not important to you. I could write "Good morning" and some creature will still come shouting blue murder. So no need.

Anyway shout out to the folks with the thick skin....love y'all grin wink

Ohhhhhh...

Thank you very much. I have a few questions tho.

1. What's crs. Hearing it for the first time.

2. Vitally, how do I get an ECA done? And what's the cost?

But that test result ehn... Diarisgodoh

Sorry but I have questions. How did you decide you want to relocate to Canada? What did you know about it before? Did you just stumble on this thread? How did you find the EE link to create a profile?

I ask because it's chilling that anyone would want to take a major decision like relocation to another continent and not do serious research on how to go about it, what is required and what to aim for. I'm not dissing you or anything, but your questions like how to get an ECA suggests you haven't even read CIC website. That Nairaland is your authentic go to place. Very worrisome undecided

Sorry if I wasn't clear the first time. If the passport is your current valid passport, then yes you have to scan all the pages with stamps and visa. However, for old expired passport, you don't need to scan it. Just listing it in your travel history will suffice.

Yea this was what I understood was the way. Then I read that your post, and I'm like errrrr....which is it.

Thanks for clarifying.

Multiple is the default for everyone. Even people without travel history get multiple for PCC placeholder.

Ah okay! Coz uploading all the old passports will be wahala, like bigfido said na only 4MB we get lol

so I'll just go ahead without his ECA as advised. Thanks a lot.

Your checklist is generated based on the information you input in the form.

For instance, you are getting "multiple" for the PCC placeholder because you have indicated in the form that you have lived in another country for more than six months. Also as a consequence your passport will show multiple because you need to show you had legal permission to be in the said country by way of a visa or just stamps.

Sorry oh, so are you saying that for me that lived in the UK and Canada, I should upload all the passports carrying the visas and stamps of those countries, as well as my current passport? Pele na clarification I need grin

I am not sure how they were able to claim points for Canadian Work Experience while studying full time. I guess they must have ticked "No" to full time study.

From what I have read on CIC website, regardless of whether you are FSW or CEC, any work experience in Canada while studying full time will not give you extra CRS points under Canadian Work Experience. Please note that the work experience might be used to qualify for FSW but will not give you points under CRS.

Check the link below and let me know if you agree with my line of thoughts. Scroll down to Canadian work experience and read the work experience - requirements under the section (Subsection 15(7)).
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/express-entry.asp

Don't worry/bother. If you read my response post to Teds you would know we are saying the same thing section 15(7) says. However, I rather not go back and forth about this. I hear you.

I don't think you can claim work experience if you are on a student permit even during holidays. According to CIC
"Any period of employment during which the applicant was engaged in full time study will not be included in calculating the period of qualifying work experience (e.g. work experience gained through co-op work permits, off campus work permits while a full time student, and on campus work permits)."

For a student who had graduated from a Canadian post secondary institution, only work experience gained after graduation will count towards meeting the work experience requirement (e.g. post-graduate work permit). So, one will only qualify for CEC 1 year after graduation date.

You can check this link for more details:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/questions-answers-by-topic.asp?st=29.5.3

cc @Teds

This is for CEC. Also you must have worked within one year of finishing school and in the last three years.

I'm not going that route. People see Canadian work experience and assume you are CEC. I am FSW. Many people I know studying in Canada, that went FSW claimed ALL their Canadian work experience and got the points for it. Especially if study was grad school, and what I have was an open work permit with no restrictions clearly written on it. Work permits differ with restrictions clearly written on them when you receive it in the mail. It details what you are allowed to do or not.

Hello House,

When applying do you count your part-time experience as a student or just the experience after you obtained your work permit.
For example, how many years of Canadian experience do you have, do you select 3 years if you have been working for 2 years with the company as a part-time student but one year under your work permit.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grin

Calm down. I too I'm claiming Canadian work experience. It doesn't matter if you have work permit before or after school. What matters is was the job FULL TIME AND PAID? Also that it didnt interfere with school, i.e. you worked in summer or when school was out. I got my work permit before I was done with school,so all full-time work I did when school was out, I'm claiming. Plus the one i did after school.
I did 5 months full time one summer and 2 years 6 months full time after school. So I'm claiming 3 years.
However in your case, part time work doesn't count because it's not up to 40 hours a week. In other words, you can only claim your 1 year Canadian work experience which is still a good 35 points since that's your actual full time work. Don't be greedy grin

Hope this helps.

Update: See below where it says "or an equal amount in part time".......maybe that part time can count, but have no idea what that line means. Or maybe that 2 years part time will be calculated as a year? Then you can claim 2 years? Research more on this yourself though

Lmao. But why Nigerian embassies across the world all gotta act like they in Nigeria? grin

CEC and FSW-I is usually processed slower. Just thought to mention that. FSW-O is the fastest.

I don't think there's a rule. Someone a few pages back Inland, submitted 28th October and PPR was approved last week. He was just asking how his wife would send her passports for COPR, being that he's in Canada and she's in Naija.
From my own count, Inland folks are actually faster.

Found his timeline

Hello All,

I just need your advise on a matter. Ill be going to canada for studies first week in january (my course is for 8 months only). However, i'm thinking is it wise to commence express entry now, i have 1 year 11 months working experience with a small consulting firm, and one of the Big 4.

Should i also go ahead and write IELTS now, to just have it now and probably not need it that to need it and not have it (hope you get my drift).

Lastly, if you were in my shoes, what will you advise.

*i'm still on page 9, have over 400 pages to cover #phew. Hope i also get more insight while reading.

Thanks in advance Bosses

You can choose to write your ielts in Canada. And my advice is don't start EE until you're halfway or almost done with your studies. Reason is you'll get more points/scores for Canadian study. Your application will be processed faster amongst other things. But you're on the right track. And yes, your 1 year experience is good when you are ready to use it.
