Irony of life. Trump will use his power to grant himself pardon, escaping an impending imprisonment. A lot of those he instigated will spend time in jail, while trump goes off somewhere to play golf. What about those who lost their lives? Very painful truly. |
ogele:"For those of you who don't know Obama and his cabinet members did not attend Donald J Trump's inauguration". Are you sure you watched it? Or was your light off? Was your DStv disconnected? If not, please note thay Obama handed over physically. Trump saw him off and hugged him. Their wives hugged each other. The helicopter lifted him and his family away from the white house to the joy of everyone. We all watched as the helicopter charted its course in the clouds. Where were you Baba? |
Politicians use the words "playing politics". If politics can be seen to be synonymous with sports then surely there must be winners and losers. In sports good losers live to fight another day. Politicians also talk about showing "good sportsmanship". When Obama handed over to Trump, he left the white house with his family in a blaze of glory. We all watched how he was flown on helicopter and all the movements until at some point we could see no more. Today he is a big statesman just like Clinton and the Bushes in America. Trump never thought about tomorrow. Trump has placed his name on the American hall of shame. He had some good policies but his actions made him seem too mean and non caring about the colored and opposition. His presence at the hand over will add further tension and appear to pollute the mood. As it stands, he may very likely be impeached and Mike Pence will attend as the president, even if it is for one day. As the saying goes, who the gods want to destroy they first make mad. Trump got drunk with power and showed some signs of mental deficiencies in his tenure. If he is a man of remorse he should be ashamed of the problems he caused his fellow citizens in his final moments and he should be ashamed of himself and his actions. His irresponsible actions have led even third world countries to challenge America's ability to lead the democratic race. For people like us, it is better that he stays away on the 20th of January, 2021. Trump along with his son Don jr. and his lawyer Rudi Gulliani may end in prison shortly as the feds continue their search for evidences implicating them in their deep incitement of their thugs and bullies to invade their most reverred national assembly. Trump may have the inglorious honour of being an ex American president sent to prison. |
heniford2:Better write in your mother's language. Even your next comment is a monumental disgrace. Please reply in your mother's language. |
heniford2:Even simple English you cannot write. |
gtown:You deserve to be reported to Nairaland for calling the southeast the den of prostitutes. If you are not of age enough to make decent and coherent comments, why don't you just pass? |
They found almost 50 youths dancing nearly naked and arrested just three. The restaurant was an enclosed place. Police surrounded the entire place. How did the other 47 escape from the place? Vindictive politics sets Nigeria back so much. There is this strange ease in destroying opposition people's property under one pretext or the other. The state government also had been issuing conflicting reports and we were not sure what they were talking about. Taking people to court after the destruction of the property appears like a face saving move. |

How times change! How are the mighty fallen. "America the beautiful", "God's own country", the originators and owners of democracy. What we saw as a joke and an abomination came to play today, very disgracefully witnessed by the whole world. We got evidence today that no human system is 100% perfect or tamper proof. President Trump has shown the whole world how a desperate ruler can do anything out of his desperation to hold on to power. Sometime ago he was quoted as saying that he had not seen such a weak person as our own PMB. He has shown himself as a weak, greedy and irresponsible leader. If he was an African leader, he would have been in the league of the likes of Omar Bongo, Paul Biya, etc with no plans to relinquish power. Even with the on going attack by his supporters, he has refused to call them to order. I never believed that a coup d'etat could ever take place in the USA. Trump made a mockery of that line of thought. As it stands, can the Americans morally talk to African leaders about smooth power transfer? They say those who go to equity must have clean hands. By now the Americans would have issued threats, called the African leader with a stern warning and threat to send forces. I feel sorry for decent Americans who are forced to swallow this disgraceful pill by a president who should vacate office at exactly 12 noon in two weeks. |
Anambra state - the best to spend your christmas and new year holidays. |
With all the evidences why do some people choose to remain adamant? |
Myer:"Yoruba no really carry tribalism...". I noticed from your words that you are just influenced by what others say or do. You do not seem an extremist to me. From my observation the Yorubas misjudge Igbos, maybe because most of them have not ventured outside Yoruba land. The ones who have travelled to the east or the SS will always leave good remarks about what they saw and how they were treated. There is this evil remark that Igbos eat people. That makes the Yorubas avoid them. In Yoruba history do you know that some parts of Yoruba land were known in those days to be barbarians? Everything good and bad happen across all tribes and societies. As of today nothing of such happens anywhere in Nigeria anymore. Many years ago, a landlord refused to rent out a flat to me on the basis of my tribe. The man said that conclusively he would not rent out his flat to an Edo person or other, believing they were all Igbos. He further reduced his rent just to get a Yoruba person. Thank God I overcame that, building my own house. The man's daughter married an Igbo eventually. "The Igbos especially the Ipobians have been looking for a way to deal with Tinubu and Oba Akiolu". One would wonder how. It is true the Oba was said to have made a negative remark against the Igbos, but he refuted it. A few people listened to an audio message and drew a conclusion that Nnamdi Kanu had instigated the attack. May I ask if the attack was carried out by Igbo youths? Next if the Yoruba youths were prodded by the Igbos, how would Yoruba youths be so foolish to desecrate their ancient heritage? And they were so foolish to remove the staff of authority and wreak havoc on the palace. It surely was not the Igbos. I can on my own tell you the history of that Iga and how it got to that place. I used to visit the palace in the days of Oba Oyekan and I know how pleasurable it was going there. I met the Oba personally and was honoured. So to you the Igbos hijacked the endsars protests? That sounds funny. Maybe mischievous. Did you deliberately make that comment? Do you know how many Igbos were run out of business? Do you know that the Igbos lost more than any other tribe? Most stores looted were Igbo stores. What had palliatives to do with electronics and mobile phones. The Igbos lost a lot in lagos island in terms of goods and cash. Some lost their lives while trying to protect their wares. Would the Igbos hijack endsars to run themselves out of business? Please think about these things bro. |
lathrowinger:And now that the suspect is yet to be found what do you know is the status of the baby? Do you know if the child has not be sold off or harmed? You lots must face the issue at hand. |
Kzinne:Are you sure you read the comment very well? Are you well educated? Did you not read that the governor's aides, chairmen, etc beg for release of the hoodlums? Did you see anywhere the Amotekun commander mentioned other tribes? Some of you whose senses of judgment are beclouded by your tribalistic characters should be warned here to behave yourselves. |
Tissaia:So you see that you are an irreparable Muntula? Your title is unchangeable. |
ednut1:Power was given to all. Do the right thing so that you'll not be carried running helter skelter begging the same GOs. |
crazyclown:What did expect before? Denial of course. Na their way. Until they make all Nigerians poor, they will not stop. No good plans, no good policies. Their supporters die in silence. They are bewitched and completely lost. |
Myer:Hahahahahahaha. Do not forget the saying "cunny man die, cunny man bury am". Your people taught us what is termed "figure of speech". Your comment is well understood but do be reminded that your people practice indigenous, Christianity and Islam in one. Remember how they use indigenous means to pursue matters that seem too strong. Or should I remind you of the woman sacrificed on an altar in Sango by her trusted "Pastor". The truth is that you all must learn to set aside tribal sentiments in issues like this. What you attribute to the Igbos happens daily with the Yorubas and vice versa. Our country has been completely polarised by politicians and wicked elders, obstructing the youths from enjoying the best of relationships in this country. Hopefully you can see that I've not insulted your people as you have done mine. |
Tissaia:And you are a very organised MUNTULA |
seanfer:Wait and see friend. |
Indispensable85:Ize Iyamu was over hyped. APC was holding on the the results of 2016, forgetting the realities of 2020, where they had become weakened by several battles. PDP was on an ascendancy and Ken Imansuagbon was on the way to victory. The truth must not be denied that Obaseki/Shuaibu provided additional firepower. Whatever it was Ize Iyamu could not win. |
wink2015:What has that got to do with private individuals? Did you ever hear of their with governance? Your comment exhibits the thoughts and character of the typically poor. You think diseases are meant for the rich. You forget that when the rich get sick, their money becomes useful. When the poor get sick they run helter skelter. You hear of the rich who got corvid and were healed. Have you heard of the poor who got healed? You need to put your thoughts right. |
seanfer:Events overtook that bro. We are talking about the 2020 election now. |
Eriokanmi:And for all his years as a technocrat, he paraded forged documents? Our youths seem to view university admission of the early 70s from the current state of affairs there. The truth is that APC has followers who allow themselves to be hoodwinked by the party. There appears to be this kick-and-follow among its members. No one takes the time to reason out serious matters like this. |
PVision2020:And you think that in accepting Obaseki and presenting him as their candidate, PDP did not carry out a careful examination of his certificates and all that was involved in it? Mind you that all the parties know the danger of presenting candidates with wrong certificates now. PDP had other candidates and could have defeated Ize Iyamu with the backing of Obaseki. PDP was not fooled. In presenting Obaseki, they had a lot of corrections - over Obaseki's documentations - to make and I believe the corrections were made. Obaseki will survive it. |
Nigeria has never witnessed a leadership with such propensity to lie and spread propaganda all over the place. We have never witnessed a leadership that never accepts their faults and failures. For those who travelled to the east on the first of January, we can ask them their experiences on the Benin bypass. Fulani herdsmen seized vehicles loaded with passengers, killed some and herded others right into the bush. The irony there: soldiers were mounting a check point less than 400 meters away from the scene of crime without caring. Never have people experienced such fear in this country travelling on our highways. None of the highways are safe all over the country. Between Abudu and Agbor you have danger waiting. All over Edo state, you have uncountable bandits on the roads. Mr. Mohammed's claim is just one of those deceitful statements. Christians were asked to stay indoors. Even Christians on their own, knowing the security issues in their areas chose to stay indoors. The Muslim brethren too were indoors. Mr. Lai Mohammed should have celebrated his own new year in an open area in Borno to test the resolve of the bandits. Truthfully this government is not able to handle the security issue and the major reason is the northern sentiment. That is, the bandits are northerners and they do not want to be seen attacking their own people. |
Myer:So some Yoruba pastors are "successful native doctors cum pastors". Thank you for opening my eyes. |
Omoslim26:Na im make you take "obnoxiously unreasonable" follow up? Omoslim you must be a jet bomber. |
Please OP the place is called OJOTO, that is O-J-O-T-O and not Ojota in Lagos. The names are not the same and their locations are not the same. You seem to have deliberately written the name as your Lagos Ojota. |
Omoslim26:"fobial". I hope it is not the word "phobia" that you spelt in that manner. If English no gree you, abeg use your native language...we all go understand well well. |
tyup:"No matter how dumb a northerner can be". At least you recognise that you and your northern brethren are dumb. If the average northerner was sensible, how would he never go around this country with a dagger, a matchet to seek those to kill physically daily. |
All thanks to GEJ. |
