Govt is not spending on Education due to debt payments and our national policy being run
by all the "pawns" that we have as politicians who follow the dictates of the IMF, WORLD BANK etc

Black Africans are destined to be pawns a.k.a illiterates for the rest of their existence
unless they wake up to the global real-time game being played.

I saw this video, See what Alex Jones had to say about Nigeria @ 7.40 minutes

i actually told someone on here that nigeria had paid back the western loan sharks what we had borrowed ten times over and i got abuse hurled back at me - beleive me our people are in dire need of an understanding of how western countries are exploiting africa.

GenBuhari:
lack of education contributes to small-minded tribalist comments being witnessed on this thread. angry

Instead of criticising the elites for deliberately not educating the masses, so they could coninue to loot unchallenged, some here can only make tribal comments - because they are not educated enough to see the bigger picture.

Shine your eyes well well

The elites from all parts of the Nigeria are educating their children and denying our children education, so that their children could continue abuse our children in future generations.

This nation needs to wake up sharp sharp and start battling our real enemies.

Babangida - Head of State (Aug 85 - Aug 93) devalue Naira 2000% (increasing inflation from 3% to 54% ) and started the improvishement of the masses.

Obasanjo devalued Naira by 500% (during a period of record high oil prices) further impoverishing the nation and making education less affordable for the masses. Obj also looted $100 billion in my estimate and looted Nigeria Airways until it collapsed.

Both Obasanjo and Babangida, and their associates who have mortgated our children's future and looted our wealth, continue to beworshipped today by the uneducated masses because of thier wealth today.

Imagine the shame that a country the size of Nigeria no longer has a national Airline and the masses are too uneducated to realisethat thisis an outrage and even alowed Obasanjo who looted Nigeria Airways until it closed, to serve another term sad

Illitracy is the worst thing to happen to a nation.

Nigerians when are we going to wake from our coma and throw out these corrup elits?
you are absolutely correct, but nigerians are incapable of rising above tribalism and will remain pawns in the hands of the corrupt nigerian elite and the western powers forever , the western powers love manipulating nigerians because they know that the majority of us are too dumb to see the bigger picture, while we are fighting among ourselves they are covertly buying up all our land, privatising our utilities and other govt owned industries, they're also busy devaluing our currency and handing over the control of our bankign system to world bank and imf puppets, but we dont notice because we are too busy fighting over trivialites that will never lead us anywhere.

the ones who claim to be able to read and write are even worse than the illiterates because their knowledge is limited to regurgitating the ideas of their colonial masters , they have no understanding of the world they live in and are merely educated illiterates.

"There is no tomorrow" under a NATO sponsored Al Qaeda rebellion.

While a "pro-democracy" rebel government has been instated, the country has been destroyed.

Against the backdrop of war propaganda, Libya's economic and social achievements over the last thirty years, have been brutally reversed:

The [Libyan Arab Jamahiriya] has had a high standard of living and a robust per capita daily caloric intake of 3144. The country has made strides in public health and, since 1980, child mortality rates have dropped from 70 per thousand live births to 19 in 2009. Life expectancy has risen from 61 to 74 years of age during the same span of years. (FAO, Rome, Libya, Country Profile,)

According to sectors of the "Progressive Left" which have endorsed NATO's R2P mandate: "The mood across Libya, particularly in Tripoli, is absolutely —like there’s just a feeling of euphoria everywhere. People are incredibly excited about starting afresh. There’s a real sense of rebirth, a feeling that their lives are starting anew. (DemocracyNow.org, September 14, 2011 emphasis added)

The rebels are casually presented as "liberators". The central role of Al Qaeda affilated terrorists within rebel ranks is not mentioned.

"Starting afresh" in the wake of destruction? Fear and Social Despair, Countless Deaths and Atrocities, amply documented by the independent media.

No euphoria, A historical reversal in the country's economic and social development has occurred. The achievements have been erased.

The NATO invasion and occupation marks the ruinous "rebirth" of Libya's standard of living That is the forbidden and unspoken truth: an entire Nation has been destabilized and destroyed, its people driven into abysmal poverty.

The objective of the NATO bombings from the outset was to destroy the country's standard of living, its health infrastructure, its schools and hospitals, its water distribution system.

And then "rebuild" with the help of donors and creditors under the helm of the IMF and the World Bank.

The diktats of the "free market" are a precondition for the instatement of a Western style "democratic dictatorship ".

About nine thousand strike sorties, tens of thousands of strikes on civilian targets including residential areas, government buildings, water supply and electricity generation facilities. (See NATO Communique, September 5, 2011. 8140 strike sorties from March 31 to September 5, 2011)

An entire nation has been bombed with the most advanced ordnance, including uranium coated ammunition.

Already in August, UNICEF warned that extensive NATO bombing of Libya's water infrastructure "could turn into an unprecedented health epidemic “ (Christian Balslev-Olesen of UNICEF's Libya Office, August 2011).

Meanwhile investors and donors have positioned themselves. "War is Good for Business'. NATO, the Pentagon and the Washington based international financial institutions (IFIs) operate in close coordination. What has been destroyed by NATO will be rebuilt, financed by Libya's external creditors under the helm of the "Washington Consensus":

"Specifically, the [World] Bank has been asked to examine the need for repair and restoration of services in the water, energy and transport sectors [bombed by NATO] and, in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, to support budget preparation [austerity measures] and help the banking sector back on to its feet [The Libyan Central bank was one of the first government buildings to be bombed]. Employment generation for young Libyans has been added as an urgent need facing the country." (World Bank to Help Libya Rebuild and Deliver Essential Services to Citizens emphasis added)

Libya's Development Achievements

Whatever one's views regarding Moamar Gadaffi, the post-colonial Libyan government played a key role in eliminating poverty and developing the country's health and educational infrastructure. According to Italian Journalist Yvonne de Vito, "Differently from other countries that went through a revolution – Libya is considered to be the Switzerland of the African continent and is very rich and schools are free for the people. Hospitals are free for the people. And the conditions for women are much better than in other Arab countries." (Russia Today, August 25, 2011)

These developments are in sharp contrast to what most Third World countries were able to "achieve" under Western style "democracy" and "governance" in the context of a standard IMF-World Bank Structural Adjustment program (SAP).

Public Health Care

Public Health Care in Libya prior to NATO's "Humanitarian Intervention" was the best in Africa. "Health care is [was] available to all citizens free of charge by the public sector. The country boasts the highest literacy and educational enrolment rates in North Africa. The Government is [was] substantially increasing the development budget for health services, (WHO Libya Country Brief )

Confirmed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), undernourishment was less than 5 %, with a daily per capita calorie intake of 3144 calories. (FAO caloric intake figures indicate availability rather than consumption).

The Libyan Arab Jamahiriya provided to its citizens what is denied to many Americans: Free public health care, free education, as confirmed by WHO and UNESCO data.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO): Life expectancy at birth was 72.3 years (2009), among the highest in the developing World.

Under 5 mortality rate per 1000 live births declined from 71 in 1991 to 14 in 2009

Education

The adult literacy rate was of the order of 89%, (2009), (94% for males and 83% for females). 99.9% of youth are literate (UNESCO 2009 figures, See UNESCO, Libya Country Report)

Gross primary school enrolment ratio was 97% for boys and 97% for girls (2009) .
(see UNESCO tables at http://stats.uis.unesco.org/unesco/TableViewer/document.aspx?ReportId=121&IF_Language=eng&BR_Country=4340&BR_Region=40525

The pupil teacher ratio in Libya's primary schools was of the order of 17 (1983 UNESCO data), 74% of school children graduating from primary school were enrolled in secondary school (1983 UNESCO data).

Based on more recent date, which confirms a marked increase in school enrolment, the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in secondary schools was of the order of 108% in 2002. The GER is the number of pupils enrolled in a given level of education regardless of age expressed as a percentage of the population in the theoretical age group for that level of education.

For tertiary enrolment (postsecondary, college and university), the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) was of the order of 54% in 2002 (52 for males, 57 for females).
(For further details see http://stats.uis.unesco.org/unesco/TableViewer/document.aspx?ReportId=121&IF_Language=eng&BR_Country=4340&BR_Region=40525

Women's Rights

With regard to Women's Rights, World Bank data point to significant achievements.

"In a relative short period of time, Libya achieved universal access for primary education, with 98% gross enrollment for secondary, and 46% for tertiary education. In the past decade, girls’ enrollment increased by 12% in all levels of education. In secondary and tertiary education, girls outnumbered boys by 10%." (World Bank Libya Country Brief, emphasis added)

Price Controls over Essential Food Staples

In most developing countries, essential food prices have skyrocketed, as a result of market deregulation, the lifting of price controls and the eliminaiton of subsidies, under "free market" advice from the World Bank and the IMF.

In recent years, essential food and fuel prices have spiralled as a result of speculative trade on the major commodity exchanges.

Libya was one of the few countries in the developing World which maintained a system of price controls over essential food staples.

World Bank President Robert Zoellick acknowledged in an April 2011 statement that the price of essential food staples had increased by 36 percent in the course of the last year. See Robert Zoellick, World Bank

The Libyan Arab Jamahiriya had established a system of price controls over essential food staples, which was maintained until the onset of the NATO led war.

While rising food prices in neighbouring Tunisia and Egypt spearheaded social unrest and political dissent, the system of food subsidies in Libya was maintained.

These are the facts confirmed by several UN specialised agencies.

"Missile Diplomacy" and "The Free Market"

War and Globalization are intiricately related. The IMF and NATO work in tandem, in liason with the Washington think tanks.

The NATO operation purports to enforce the neoliberal economic agenda. Countries which are reluctant to accept the sugar coated bullets of IMF "economic medicine" will eventually be the object of a R2P NATO humanitarian operation.

Déjà Vu? Under the British Empire, "gun boat diplomacy" was a means to imposing "free trade". On October 5, 1850, England's Envoy to the Kingdom of Siam, Sir James Brooke recommended to Her Majesty's government that:

"should these just demands [to impose free trade] be refused, a force should be present, immediately to enforce them by the rapid destruction of the defenses of the [Chaopaya] river, Siam may be taught the lesson which it has long been tempting-- its Government may be remodelled, A better disposed king placed on the throne and an influence acquired in the country which will make it of immense commercial importance to England" (The Mission of Sir James Brooke, quoted in M.L. Manich Jumsai, King Mongkut and Sir John Bowring, Chalermit, Bangkok, 1970, p. 23)

Today we call it "Regime Change" and "Missile Diplomacy" which invariably takes the shape of a UN sponsored "No Fly Zone". Its objective is to impose the IMF's deadly "economic medicine" of austerity measures and privatization.

The World Bank financed "reconstruction" programs of war torn countries are coordinated with US-NATO military planning. They are invariably formulated prior to onslaught of the military campaign,

Confiscating Libyan Financial Assets

Libya`s frozen overseas financial assets are estimated to be of the order of $150 billion, with NATO countries holding more than $100 billion.

Prior to the war, Libya had no debts. In fact quite the opposite. It was a creditor nation investing in neighboring African countries.

The R2P military intervention is intended to spearhead the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya into the straightjacket of an indebted developing country, under the surveillance of the Washington based Bretton Woods institutions.

In a bitter irony, after having stolen Libya's oil wealth and confiscated its overseas financial assets, the "donor community" has pledged to lend the (stolen) money back to finance Libya's post-war "reconstruction". Libya is slated to join the ranks of indebted African countries which have driven into poverty by IMF and the World Bank since the onsalught of the debt crisis in the early 1980s:

The IMF promised a further $35-billion in funding [loans] to countries affected by Arab Spring uprisings and formally recognized Libya’s ruling interim council as a legitimate power, opening up access to a myriad of international lenders as the country [Libya] looks to rebuild after a six-month war. ,

Getting IMF recognition is significant for Libya’s interim leaders as it means international development banks and donors such as the World Bank can now offer financing.

The Marseille talks came a few days after world leaders agreed in Paris to free up billions of dollars in frozen assets [stolen money] to help [through loans] Libya’s interim rulers restore vital services and rebuild after a conflict that ended a 42-year dictatorship.

The financing deal by the Group of Seven major economies plus Russia is aimed at supporting reform efforts [IMF sponsored structural adjustment] in the wake of uprisings in North Africa and the Middle East.

The financing is mostly in the form of loans, rather than outright grants, and is provided half by G8 and Arab countries and half by various lenders and development banks. (Financial Post, September 10, 2011,

Sirte is too strong for the rebels

Thursday, 22.09.2011

[b]Gaddafi wanted Sirte to become the capital of a united Africa and it is the site of the headquarters of the African Investment Bank, which together with the African Monetary Fund (HQ in Yaounde, Cameroon) and African Central Bank (HQ in Abuja, Nigeria) which were to launch this September with a $42 billion fund to set Africa free from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank.   The USA stole the $32 billion contributed for this African project that would have prevented private banker control over Africa, thus preventing the project from proceeding.

The citizens of Sirte fiercely resisted the rebel attackers, who were forced to retreat in panic. Bani Walid still remains under the control of the Libyan Jamahiriya. This although the city has been under constant bombing for a month and constant missile attacks, as well as having its water supply cut off, food sources bombed by NATO, and being ringed by rebels who prevent anyone going into or out of the city thus enforcing a siege. NATO is thus deliberately starving an entire city into submission, and absolutely not protecting civilians, and committing war crimes while the world remains silent in the absence of pictures.[/b]

Nevertheless, rebel militants have been unable to take Sirte and Bani Walid, the other city which has faced the same fate for the past month, and both of which are fiercely protected by the forces of the Libyan Jamahiriya and its popular symbolic leader Muammar Qaddafi who handed all power, wealth and arms to the people in 1977 and resigned his government position in 1979. The rebels retreated in panic, [/b]says Al Jazeera, a channel financed by the CIA and which launched the war on Libya via fake "news" reports.

The rebels met particularly fierce resistance about 50 km east of Sirte (population - 100 thousand people, located 360 km east of Tripoli), in the Khamsin.  They claim they did not have enough firepower to respond to the forces of the Libyan resistance.

The rebels prepared for an attack on Bani Walid, and on September 9 the NATO-rebel TNC leadership declared that the rebels had entered Bani Walid. As it turned out later, their attack was repulsed and the town was again shelled by the Air Forces of NATO and 17 foreign mercenaries of NATO, mostly French, with 2 Brits and 1 Asian (possibly a Gurka or from Brunei) were captured and are still held prisoners by the Libyan Defense Force.

The rebels claimed to have taken the city of Sabha on the evening of September 21st, in yet another staged media lie.  The NATO-rebels were routed.  Sabha remains under full control of the Libyan Jamahiriya as does over 85% of the country.  Sebha is the largest town in the Libyan desert, with a population of 100 thousand people.  Military bases placed at Sabha make it a strategically important city.

Meanwhile, NATO has decided to extend its war against Libya for another three more months to provide cover for the rebels from the air.  Many military bases in the region of Sirte and Bani Walid were destroyed by NATO airstrikes. According to Syrian TV which has reliable sources in Libya, NATO bombed a hospital in Sirte yet again.

General News

Thursday, 22.09.2011

Interrogations of 17 foreign mercenaries captured in Bani Walid have begun. The Libyan authorities have stated that upon their completion of the interrogations, the prisoners will be presented to the media. This would be a blow to the authorities of all the Western nations.  The impact would be strong if the prisoners would be shown on television. Whether or not western TV stations show this, and to what extent, remains to be seen.

NATO no longer knows how to organize support for the rebels on all fronts. Meanwhile there is mobilized and organized resistance from the Libyan supporters of the Jamahiriya as well as growing world wide support. The rebels continue to disintegrate with insurmountable rifts between the TNC political and military commanders, and the commanders in the field, as well as between the TNC politicians themselves who have shelved indefinitely the announcement of their "committee" as well as between the rebels on the ground who are divided along tribal, ideological, and motivational lines.

Bani Walid. There were at least 57 rebels reported killed, and in the order of hundreds known to be captured.  There were 25 pickup trucks captured.

Tarragon. Arriving here, the rebels believed they would be safe, but here they were simply destroyed.  Corpses of rebels are littered throughout the city which put up a stiff armed resistance against the invaders.

Murzuk: Murzuk is a small town in the region Fezzan, near Sheba. It was announced by some media reports that Saadi Gaddafi has arrived there accompanied by thousands of Tuareg soldiers. Authorities from neighboring Niger have argued that it was under Gaddafi's control.

Misrata: Fierce fighting took place yesterday between the rebel factions for control of the city which covers a vast area and throughout the 7 months of war by US-NATO against Libya, has never been under complete control of the NATO-rebels.

News from the front

Thursday, 22.09.2011

Sabha (major city in an oasis in the south): The traitors (NATO-mercenary-rebels), who entered the city without a fight, were lured into an ambush that will go down in history as a legendary achievement.  The cries of "Allahu Akbar" (God is Great) served as strong inspiration for the defenders of the Jamahiriya.

The rebels who entered the city, were quickly rounded up and the others fled. There were 45 rebels killed, and hundreds taken as prisoners. Their flight took place amidst big confusion.  The world media fail to report on this.

Tripoli: There is very bad news for the rebels in Tripoli.  There are intense clashes happening in Tripoli every single day. Rebels are either killed or being kidnapped every day by the armed citizens who are furious at the mass murder, pillage and destruction caused by the lawless rebels (also known as rats) and their helping themselves at force to any house and its contents.  The situation for the rebels is becoming more difficult, as the citizens of Tripoli who have put up with an unbearable life since the invasion, are resisting.

Al-Zhufrah: In al-Zhufrah, after NATO bombing ended, Libyan militias, along with the Libyan Defense Forces, attacked the camp of the rebels.  Dozens of rebels were killed and many were wounded.

Observers note:

The extension of NATO operations in Libya, by three months, demonstrates the utter failure of NATO countries to break a tiny nation of 6 million people.  NATO, supposedly the most powerful military alliance in human history, is an alliance of cowards, gangsters, psychopaths, racists, genocidal maniacs, drug addicts (literally), liars, thieves, and mental deficients, especially  Rasmussen and Obama.

Libya: a pause between battles

Thursday, 22.09.2011

Some reports say the rebels have halted fighting against the masses of the Libyan Jamahiriya, supposedly due to lack of ammunition, said the commander of ground operations. It could be a ploy to get themselves more ammunition or to misinform the Libyan Defense Forces.

Green Committees intercepted a phone conversation between two rebels, in which one was complaining of not having received arms and ammunition from Qatar, as had been promised.  In addition, the rebel command structure virtually doesn't exist, so maybe none of them even knew whose responsibility it was for re-supplying (logistics).  Also, the rebels are actually fighting each other, and may be hesitant to supply ammunition to a rival rebel faction that might turn their weapons against them.

Commander Mustafa Ben Dardef, from the team that walked 5 kilometers from the occupied areas of Sultan, located east of Sirte (370 km from Tripoli), said that his men would cease to conduct combat operations for one week.  "We will stop fighting for a week.  We are faced with the fact that we do not have enough ammunition," he said.  "The main goal for now is to maintain progress and to establish a strong line of defense in Sultana, 30 kilometers east of Sirte," he said.

The rebel commander was also asked whether the fighting will cease in other parts of the front and in other areas, to which he replied that he had asked other sections of the front to cease fighting so that their actions could be coordinated, but he has yet to hear from them.

This after the rebels had given repeated "final deadlines" for the city of Sirte to surrender of face massacres. China, Russia and other world powers have bought the media lies, and are also not cooperating with the Libyan Jamahiriya, which is winning this war. On return to peace, the Libyan Jamahiriya will deal instead of with governments and corporations, with citizens and small companies run by citizens, thus encouraging and offering solidarity with the masses around the world who are taking power into their hands.

Lessons of Sirte and Beni Walid: London and Paris are preparing for the occupation of Libya?

Thursday, 22.09.2011

TNC (NATO-rebel political council) leader Jibril, in answering the question, posed by a reporter of a TV news station, as to whether or not he believed that the attempted [but failed] storming of the cities of Sirte and Bani Walid would create an irreconcilable conflict between the TNC and the Warfalla Tribe, shamelessly, publically, and with apparent mental ease, said the following:  "Yes, this is serious. The Warfalla Tribe will retaliate.  But the French and the British are much stronger than the Warfalla Tribe, and we ask them to stay on for as long as it will be necessary."

This was said openly, unambiguously, with no need for interpretation, and no alternative interpretation available.  So, the future of Libya's rebel leader is seen in the form of confrontation with his own citizens, and his hope that his French and British masters will destroy his own people.

It is worth noting that, despite the June 1, 2001 NATO [false] claim that it had destroyed 80% of the Libyan Defense Forces, and that the LDF was "completely demoralized," and "shackled by the blows of NATO," and that the Libyan Jamahiriya (people's democracy) had run out of money to finance the LDF, the LDF is not only continuing to fight fiercely, but has, within the last two weeks, had 16 major military successes against NATO and the rebels.  Just to be clear, that means 16 major military defeats of NATO and rebels.

Obviously, the Libyan Jamahiriya and the Libyan Armed Forces are no where near defeat, and, in fact, still control between 85 to 90% of Libya, although some reports put that figure at between 75 to 85% of Libya.

No one is hiding the fact that the war in Libya is being fought between the Libyan Armed Forces and NATO.  The role of the rebels is to pose for the cameras, chant slogans, and recite monologues about "freedom."

Immediately after his visit to Tripoli by President Sarkozy and Prime Minister Cameron, the rebels became greatly inspired [What a pitiful display, happy that their European masters had visited them!!] So, in celebration of the visit of their masters, they set out in 900 pickup trucks and 100 tanks, and rushed to assault the cities of Bani-Walid and Sirte, which had previously been bombed for several weeks by NATO aircraft, only to be once again crushed by the Libyan Defense Forces, the Jamahiri green volunteers, and the armed citizens of those cities.

A NATO-rebel soldier said, "I've never seen anything like it.  We had recently arrived, and nobody asked us any questions. We just moved into Bani-Walid, because we were told that the city already has representatives of the TNC, to which we must join.

"But there was absolutely no one. And then we had to retreat under the heavy fire forces of the Gaddafi's LDF." Despite the support of the Special Forces of Qatar and France, the rebels fled to about 50-60 kilometers outside of the cities of Sirte and Bani-Walid.

According to CNN, which is another compromised media network, TNC emissaries arrived at the location of the retreating troops, trying to convince them not to disperse to their homes.  But even some of the commanders said that they did not want to die, and that they needed their masters, the French, to come and fight for them.  The French journalist, Alain Jules, said, "Some of the Libyan rebels no longer want to go to the front, because the loss in battle near the town of Beni Walid caused a lot of fear inside of them.

It is said that one of the reasons that the rebel assaults on Bani Walid and Sirte failed is because of bad interaction between rebel forces, some of whom rushed to the assault based on their own decision to do so, not through any consultation with commanders.  Commanders of the rebels in all key areas have accused each other of being unwilling to act in a coordinated manner.  Another reason for the failure is because of mutual hatred of each other, within the military units, based on tribe and ethnicity.

Moreover, the Al-Qaida Islamists are gradually beginning to demonstrate their intention of taking full control of the TNC.  For example, Abdelhakim Belhadj, the creator and the emir of the Islamic terrorist organization, "The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group," now holds the post of head of the Military Council of Tripoli, and does not hide his discontent with the leadership of the TNC. Belhadj spent years in prison in Libya after being captured in Thailand and handed over to the Jamahiriya by the British and American intelligence. He is still listed as a known terrorist with which no U.S. or others are allowed to assist, yet is fully assisted by the US-NATO alliance.

The first attempt to create a TNC government has failed.  Members of the board rejected more than 50% of the nominees proposed by Jibril.  The Islamists, as stated before, are gradually gaining strength and influence, and plan to attempt to build a "new Libya" guided solely by their own alleged ideas about people's needs, namely a dictatorship of "religious leaders" as they do not believe that the direct participatory democracy of the Jamahiriya system is "islamic" even though there is an entire chapter "Shura" of the Holy Qur'an of which Part One of the Green Book could be considered a practical explanation of the verse "their affairs must be among them under consultation".  But their first consideration is their [vain] hope that they will institute their own reactionary and false version of Shariah law in Libya. The Holy Qur'an has already been the Law of Society in Libya since 1977, but has been understood to mean "all power, all wealth and all arms in the hands of the people", and the Green Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms has placed religion and law into their proper context, not to be monopolized by sectarian groups such as the uneducated islamists.

As can be seen, the TNC and the rebels are in total disarray and today, it is clear that without the support of the West and the slave Arab countries such as Qatar, the current balance would be totally upset, and the rebels would be crushed in a day.   It is worthy to note that Libyan army commanders have been much more resistant than their Iraqi counterparts were during the Gulf War, and have remained in their positions, defending Libya, without taking a fee.

Since NATO and the rebels have utterly failed, it is certain that the northern countries are now contemplating the full occupation of Libya by northern troops, or proxy via Turkish troops, as well as the use of nuclear weapons to wipe out entire areas of resistance.

i would really appreciate it if you would kindly point out to me in my post where i said nigeria was the only country that voted in favour of the no fly zone.

the issue is not about how many countries voted in favour of the no fly zone - it is about the fact taht nigeria had no business voting in favour of it in the first place. I referred to you as a slave because you have not even understood that there is something wrong with an african country voting to allow a group of european nations to attack a fellow african nation, in your dumb slave mind you see nothing wrong with such an atrocity and that is why you will remain a slave for life.

Hi All,

i read native guys comment, there are mixed feedbacks.
Many of them taking it as +ve while few of them taking as -ve.

doing privatization doesnt always solve problem at times it makes thing worse.
One thing is for sure, when any govt. Privatize its local resource, it loose country's integrity,

Govt. Is saving itself and doesnt taking responsibility to fix current issues by privatising, they are taking a step backward and making citizens life more difficult.
Govt. Will earn great profit and leave citizen pay high bills !!!

Remember these resource are Country's property not the government's
govt. Come and go, they are protectors or to serve the nation not to come and Sell Local Resources !!!
No forward thinking govt sells off 70% of its assets to foreign private investors - its suicidal - as you correctly stated the country is indirectly handing over its sovereignty to foreigners - you no longer have any say over the running of some of the most vital industries in your own country - this is going to be a repeat of what happened in some latin american countries where their govts sold off all their utilities to foreign investors and the prices of these services went through the roof effectively taking these services out of the reach of the poor, the same thing will happen in nigeria.

the african union have at last bowed to their western masters.

meanwhile the NATO countries divide up the oil and gas and reconstruction contracts among themselves.

can any african country dream of invading a european country, bombing its infrastructure, killing its people and stealing its resourcees and then turn around and say they are bringing demcracy to that country?

Libya owed no debt to the world but that is going to change very soon - very soon Libya is going to become submerged in debt, its people will be impoverished and the wealth of the country will be transferred into the hands of the western oil companies , banks and multinatinals all thanks to the NTC traitors and their western collaborators.

goodluck jonathan is a complete disgrace to the african continent, he has no self respect and that is why he allows himself to be kicked around by the west, hillary clinton speaks him and other african leaders as if they are pre school children , this is the kind of behaviour gadaffi would never tolerate from the west. the AU tried to stand their ground and stop the ongoing carnage in libya but they were dismissed, ignored and treated with utter contempt by the NATO powers.

throughout this libyan crisis nigeria has acted as pawns of the NATO powers, they voted in favour of a no fly zone - (which is an act of war) against a fellow african nation, they then recognised a govt that continues to kill its own citizens - a raciist genocidal govt whose aim is to ethnically cleanse the blacks from libya , the nigerian govt has shown itself to be nothing more than a traitor and an errand boy for the western nations.

I hope this doesn't turn into a situation like Bolivia where people are not able to afford their electricity and only the rich have it. It also better be constant 24/7 for the whole country then more economic growth can happen.
that is exactly what is going to happen - privatisation means a hike in electricity bills, instead of the govt to pump money into upgrading the existing system they prefer to make a quick buck by sellling it off to the highest bidder - this doesnt bode well for nigerians.

Muammar Gaddafi: "After this achievement, American threats against Libya will double, The United States will make excuses, but the real reason is to stop this achievement, to keep the people of Libya oppressed"

By Frances Thomas

September 1st is the anniversary of an event little known in the West. Today, twenty years on, the people who deserve to be celebrating it, are instead enduring a war. Yet the achievement changed their lives greatly and merits recognition.

A tap was turned on in Libya. From an enormous ancient aquifer, deep below the Sahara Desert, fresh water began to flow north through 1200 kilometres of pipeline to the coastal areas where 90% of Libyan people live, delivering around one million cubic metres of pure water per day to the cities of Benghazi and Sirte.

Crowds gathered in the desert for the inaugural ceremony. Phase I of the largest civil engineering venture in the world, the Great Man-made River Project, had been completed.

It was during the 1953 search for new oilfields in southern Libya that the ancient water aquifers were first discovered, four huge basins with estimated capacities each ranging between 4,800 and 20,000 cubic kms. Yes, that’s cubic kilometres. There is so much water that Libya had recently also offered it to Egypt for their needs.

After the bloodless revolution of 1969, also on September 1, the new government nationalised the oil companies and spent much of the oil revenues to harness the supply of fresh water from the desert aquifers by putting in hundreds of bore wells. Muammar Gaddafi’s dream was to provide fresh water for everyone, and to turn the desert green, making Libya self-sufficient in food production. He established large farms and encouraged the people to move to the desert. But many preferred life on the coast and wouldn’t go.

So Gaddafi next conceived a plan to bring the water to the people. Feasibility studies were carried out by the Libyan government in the seventies and in 1983 the Great Man-made River Authority was set up. The project began the following year, fully funded by the Libyan government. The almost $30 billion cost to date has been without the need of any international loans. Nor has there been any charge on the people, who do not pay for their reticulated water, which is regarded in Libya to be a human right and therefore free.

GMMR Project figures are staggering. The ‘rivers’ are a 4000-kilometre network of 4m diameter lined concrete pipes, buried below the desert sands to prevent evaporation. There are 1300 wells, 500,000 sections of pipe, 3700 kms of haul roads, and 250 million cubic metres of excavation. All material for the project was locally manufactured. Large reservoirs provide storage, and pumping stations control the flow into the cities. The pipeline first reached Tripoli in 1996 and when Phase V is completed, the water will allow about 155,000 hectares of land to be cultivated.

To achieve all this, construction work was tendered and many overseas companies, including from the US, Korea, Turkey, Britain, Japan and Germany took up contracts for each Phase, and some have worked for decades in Libya. The project has not been without problems, including faulty materials and financial difficulties within some of the contracting firms. Since the NATO air attacks on Libya began in March, most foreign nationals have returned home, including those employed on the hydro scheme. The final phase of the Great Man-made River Project is stalled.

Libyan people put their hearts into work on the GMMRP from the beginning, and years ago took on most of the managerial and technical positions as their expert knowledge increased, with government policy encouraging their education, training and employment. They proudly call the GMMR “the eighth wonder of the world.”

The project was so well recognised internationally that UNESCO in 1999 accepted Libya’s offer to fund an award named after it, the Great Man-Made River International Water Prize , the purpose of which is to “reward remarkable scientific research work on water usage in arid areas”.

Gaddafi was often ridiculed in the West for persevering with such an ambitious project. Pejorative terms such “pipedream”, “pet project” and “mad dog” appeared in UK and US media. Despite a certain amount of awe for the enormity of the construction, the Great Man-made River was often dismissed as a “vanity project” and then rarely mentioned in western media. But truth is, it’s a world class water delivery system, and often visited by overseas engineers and planners wanting to learn from Libyan expertise in water transfer hydro-engineering.

On 22 July this year, four months into the air strikes to “protect civilians”, NATO forces hit the GMMR water supply pipeline. For good measure the following day, NATO destroyed the factory near Brega that produces the pipes to repair it, along with killing six guards there.

NATO air strikes on the electricity supply, as well as depriving civilians of electricity, mean that water pumping stations are no longer operating in areas even where the pipelines remain intact. Water supply for the 70% of the population who depend on the piped supply has been compromised with this damage to Libya’s vital infrastructure.

Oh, and by the way, attacking essential civilian infrastructure is a war crime.

Today in Sirte, which along with Benghazi was one of the first two cities to receive the water, there should be a celebration to mark the twenty years since fresh reticulated water first came to their city, and Gaddafi’s vision should be honoured.

But today Sirte is encircled by the rebels, and right now is being carpet bombed by NATO. The civilians are terrorised, and many families have tried to flee. But the rebels block all the exits, they kill the men, and send the women and children back into the city to be bombed. In the media the rebels are reported to have given Sirte until Saturday to surrender before they commence a full attack. But that’s not what’s happening really.

September 1, 2011, will be remembered in history for NATO’s complicity in the massacre of the people of Sirte.

Back in 1991, at the gala opening of GMMRP Phase I, and maybe recalling the 1986 bombing of his home (which was carried out by US military on Reagan’s orders), Muammar Gaddafi spoke these words to the invited international dignitaries and assembled crowd:

“After this achievement, American threats against Libya will double…The United States will make excuses, (but) the real reason is to stop this achievement, to keep the people of Libya oppressed.”

His words were prophetic.

Foreign Affairs › Ghana Joins Nigeria In Recognising Libyan Ntc As New Govt Of Libya by cap28(op): 12:59pm On Sep 18, 2011
By Prince Akyeampong

After what recently happened in Libya, one is apt to wonder what democracy really stands for. If democracy is the keyword used to justify the destruction of human lives and property, then God help us all!

Yes, the NATO-aided NTC rebels have apparently managed to do away with Muammar Gaddafi, and Ghana, among other African countries has, after a little hesitation, decided to do obeisance to the western powers by recognizing these anti-Gaddafi miscreants. The question now remains: does a "post-Gaddafi Libya" hope to become a land of milk and honey? Believe me, that would be a very tall order because actually, whether you like Gaddafi or not, Libya, by all appreciable standards, had the highest standard of living in Africa, under Gaddafi. If western-style democracy was a yardstick for determining developmental success, Ghana, Nigeria and other countries in Africa would not be in their present predicaments. Let’s take a look at some of the comforts and benefits Libyans enjoyed under Gaddafi and draw our own conclusions.

When Gaddafi took over, Libyans had an average annual income of about $60. His government brought Libya from poverty and debt to prosperity and debt-free status education from the kindergarten stage through college was free. Health care was free as well. Under Gaddafi’s oil-revenue-sharing program, each Libyan had $500 (five hundred US dollars) deposited into his or her bank account each month. After marriage, each couple was given as much as $60,000 (sixty thousand US dollars) to spend. Libya gave free land and seeds to anyone who wanted to take up farming as an occupation.

Water and electricity were free in Libya. Petrol/fuel was sold at 75 cents a gallon under Gaddafi. There was virtually no homelessness as everyone was given a home. Undernourishment in Libya under Gaddafi was as low as 2% – a figure lower than that of the world center of “democracy,” the USA. For any medical care or health treatments that were unavailable in Libya, the Libyan citizen’s full expenses for travel, treatment and accommodation to wherever was required for treatment were borne by the Libyan government. Before Gaddafi, literacy in Libya was only 10%. Under Gaddafi’s leadership, literacy has risen to over 80%. Unlike some Arab states, women in Libya under Gaddafi had equal rights; not only as a philosophy, but in practice.

Libyans had a direct participatory democracy based on people’s conferences. The Gaddafi government invested billions to bring fresh water from southern Libya’s desert to coastal areas like Tripoli and Benghazi. This man-made river is a worldwide acclaimed achievement that stands as a testimony to Gaddafi’s huge contribution to the economic development of Libya. Folks, note that this project which cost Libya about $35 billion (US dollars) was exclusively financed by Libya’s Central Bank without borrowing a cent from abroad.

So, if these eye-popping achievements are not enough, then what exactly is the NATO agenda? What are they bringing to Libya that is better than what Gaddafi achieved? I sympathize with Libyans – and why not? In the name of western-style “democracy,” a hitherto affluent African nation has decided to take a dangerous u-turn and thus join the large group of third world countries in Africa.

The western propaganda machine is so deadly that they pick and choose what to report to the outside world with regards to the situation in Libya. Whatever event goes against their interests and machinations is not reported. How can NATO bomb roads, ports, buildings and oil fields’ equipment and yet claim to be assisting in a just cause? It’s about democracy, they contend; and some of us have ignorantly bought into that nonsense! If this maze of confusion and corruption in Ghana is what democracy is about, I’d rather take a Gaddafi-type system any day. Ultimately, life is about the search for the best means of achieving improved and quality lifestyles. Did Gaddafi fail Libyans in that regard?

For NATO, it’s been a job “well executed.” They have managed once again to bring a strong and thriving economy to its knees. Even as these ignorant rebels chant and wave flags, they are yet to come to grips with reality; they do not realize that they are now in the full clutches of the west – they have now become YES-MEN; and would listen to and obey their NATO masters. As Ghanaians and Africans, we must honestly ask ourselves whether our so-called leaders have what it takes to stand up to the west when it comes to issues that are not in our interest. The usual “Uncle Tom” attitude exhibited by our leaders does not bode well for the African continent. What is the essence of the AU if our leaders cannot take an emphatic stand and come to the aid of one of their own in times of need? A bunch of “Uncle Toms,” that’s what they are!

Ghanaian and African leaders had better wake up and get their act together! If the Libyan situation has not served as an eye-opener to our recalcitrant and NATO-serving leaders, I don’t know what will. God bless mother Ghana!

This is the traitor that the likes of Beaf and other sycophants respect:

Obasanjo's Curious Alliances
To track the careers of the high-ranking U.S. policy makers of the 1970s into the present time is to follow a sequence of bizarre coincidences -- or perhaps something far more sinister. It is here that Obasanjo's ties to the "inner circle" in Washington and New York become apparent.

At the time of Mohammed's assassination, the United States Ambassador to Nigeria was Donald Easum, who enjoyed a cordial relationship with Henry Kissinger, then U.S. Secretary of State.

After leaving his overseas post up through the early 1990s, Easum headed an outfit called the African-American Institute, which is headquartered across the street from United Nations in New York. The African-American Institute is an establishment created in 1954 with CIA money to promote an "exchange" of ideas between the United States and the people of Africa. It is essentially the "liberal" face of CIA-inspired meddling in Africa's internal political institutions.

Although Easum was the chief of AAI, Obasanjo could easily be called its most visible African.[/b]Obasanjo is an AAI trustee, and heads its prominent African Leadership Forum. He was specially honored at the AAI Sixth Annual Awards Dinner in November, 1989. Among those serving on the advisory board of Obasanjo's Forum is the Vietnam war era Defence Secretary and one-time World Bank president, Robert McNamara.

In June of 1990, McNamara was charged with planning a four-day World Bank conference in Lagos, at which [b]population control was the only agenda. The birth reduction programme, as the Kissinger-era National Security Council paper shows, was aimed at crushing Nigeria not only militarily but also economically. Larger populations produce more wealth, and more wealth in the hands of Nigerians would mean less dependence on western "development" institutions and heightened regional influence. So obvious was the ploy that the Bank itself dared not make such a pronouncement. Instead, it sent for Obasanjo.

During its planning and implementation, the Lagos conference was a well-kept secret, and World Bank press officers referred inquiries to Obasanjo's office in New York. After the meeting, however, Obasanjo publicly called upon Nigerian leaders to implement mandatory birth curbs barring families from having more than three children.

And while Obasanjo was in Lagos demanding that compulsory birth control be foisted on unsuspecting Nigerians, [/b]Easum's African American Institute was busy building a shadowy political network to make it a reality. Under a tightly-worded contract between AAI and the Agency for International Development, the Institute agreed to be instrumental in producing "a policy climate conducive to the successful execution of a national family planning effort [in Nigeria] and to strengthen federal, state, and local government capability in strategic planning in order to efficiently mobilise and execute an effective and self-sustaining national family planning programme."

Another outfit with extensive ties to Washington's "secret establishment" is the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a right-wing geopolitical "think-tank" whose most conspicuous team member is Henry Kissinger.

Obasanjo's footprints can be found all over CSIS. On 15 December 1987, the former Nigerian leader delivered the CSIS David M. Abshire lecture -- an annual event of no small importance which takes its name from the Center's ambitious founder and head. Abshire was the first director of the Board for International Broadcasting and is a member of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.

The Intelligence Advisory Board, established by presidential decree in October of 1985, is a select group of individuals chosen by the president and authorised to "continually review the performance of all agencies of the Federal government that are engaged in the collection, evaluation, or production of intelligence or the execution of intelligence policy." It makes recommendations directly to the president and, when approved by the president, "to the Director of Central Intelligence, the Central Intelligence Agency, and other government agencies engaged in intelligence and related activities."

Indeed, Abshire's CSIS publishes and sells materials written by Obasanjo, including a small paperback book titled, "Forging a Compact in U.S.-Africa Relations," which is based on Obasanjo's 1987 lecture.

And roughly four years ago, Obasanjo was the featured speaker at a Washington conference on "Sudan and Nigeria: Reli- gion, Nationalism and Intolerance," which was sponsored by the government-controlled (and deceptively-named) U.S. Institute for Peace. There he presented a rambling talk that called for a "mental decarbonisation of the generality of the people in both countries [Sudan and Nigeria]" -- something his militaristic audience may well have interpreted as a veiled reference to wholesale brainwashing.

A Matter of Timing
The sequence of events that occurred in February of 1976 seems even more bizarre if one looks at what happened at the very top level of government -- the White House.

[b]In the fall of 1975, Ford selected a new Director of Central Intelligence, who was sworn in to office on January 30, 1976 -- exactly two weeks before the coup that brought Obasanjo to power -- over the objections of many of the same legislators who had labored to uncover abuses by the secret agency. The new CIA chief had a reputation as being the nation's most enthusiastic supporter of foreign population control measures in the 1960s and early 1970s, both as a member of the House of Representatives and as Nixon's envoy to the UN, and he later engineered the oil-motivated massacre of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. His name: George Bush.

It was not until 18 February 1976 -- five days after Mohammed was killed and more than two weeks after Bush took charge of the CIA -- that President Ford signed the long-awaited Executive Order 11905 on the subject of "United States Foreign Intelligence Activi- ties." The directive stated: "No employee of the United States Government shall engage in, or conspire to engage in, political assassination." By then, of course, Obasanjo had been safely installed as Brig. Mohammed's replacement. [/b]
Indeed, the influence gained by merely having a hand in a change of leadership could be enough to explain Obasanjo's pro-U.S. tendencies -- even if no conclusive evidence were ever found to link him directly to the CIA prior to Mohammed's assassination.

Whether or not Obasanjo acted on behalf of the United States in his recent attempt to bring down Nigeria's military government, one thing is certain: the United States intends to remain engaged in the oil-rich west African nation. And the 19-year-old Country Plan for Nigeria that was issued the year of Muritala Mohammed's assassination is still timely today when it says, "USIS has a particularly significant role to play in stimulating increased American influence in Nigeria, now of considerably heightened importance to U.S. strategic and economic interests,  [U.S. operatives will seek to promote] attitudes which are sympathetic to assuring U.S. access to Nigeria's energy resources on reasonable terms, "
A TRAITOR, A WESTERN COLLABORATOR , A MURDERER - this is the man foolish beaf praises and describes as " the dude with swag".

who are boko haram's backers - have you ever attempted to ask yourself that question?  of course not because you are simply incapable of anything bodering on critical analysis

Africom has been in the works for a long time - well informed african americans like Cynthia McKinney and Danny Glover the actor as well as many other black activists have  been warning about this project, perhaps you know something that Ms Mckinney doesnt know- i dont reckon with your attempt at political analysis because anyone who could look up to the likes of GEJ and now OBJ does not deserve to be taken seriously.

It is obvious that you have no clue about america's long track record of destabilising countries for their own economic and strategic  gain - ive got news for you al qaeda was created by US intelligence - google Zbigniew Brzinski former national security advisor under Carter - it will help you to fill in the gaping holes in your understanding of geo politics and american foreign policy  - boko haram is just another US sponsored terrorist organisation designed to fulfill america's prophecy of the disintegration of nigeria by 2015.

all the countries mentioned by the US general are countries that america has either a strategic interest in or has valuable natural resources:

algeria - oil
nigeria - oil
somalia - gulf of aden - and important oil shipping route which lies to the north east of somalia

in addition america is intent on destabilisng all african countries with huge chinese investment in oil, its done that with libya, its next stop is nigeria and angola - nos 2 and 3 in oil production in africa respectively.
why? because it does not want china to overtake them as an economic and military super power.

Foreign Affairs › Nato Still Unable To Gain Full Control Over Libya by cap28(op): 2:08am On Sep 17, 2011
Arab Spring Ending in Anglo-American Whimper
Unpredictable desperation to follow.
by Tony Cartalucci

Libya's leader Muammar Qaddafi has managed to survive and put up fierce resistance for now half a year against NATO aggression and their Al Qaeda led rebel forces on the ground. Tripoli is still unsecured, and entire cities still stand firmly in defiance against constant NATO bombing and multiple attempts by "thousands" of rebels to surround and starve out cities. Libyans have also now fended off several full fledged assaults by an increasingly disorganized rebel army on the cities of Sirte and Bani Walid.

The cracks are beginning to show in NATO's proxy army, the so-called Libyan rebels hailing from Libya's eastern Cyrenaica region, notorious as the most concentrated recruiting ground for international terrorism on earth and the home of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), listed as a foreign terrorist organization by both the US State Department and the UK Home Office. In recent weeks, it has become impossible for the corporate media and NATO to hide the fact that the rebels are being led by LIFG commanders. It is also increasingly impossible to hide these terrorists' atrocities as they literally exile or exterminate entire cities. The London Telegraph has finally admitted in short that the rebels are in fact genocidal racists. In the Telegraph's article "Gaddafi's ghost town after the loyalists retreat," it is reported that rebels have taken the city of Tawarga, where the entire civilian population was either killed, rounded up, or exiled, all motivated by a "racist undercurrent."

However, one thing NATO is still trying to hide, with the full cooperation of the corporate media, is that they are now on the eve of their September 19 deadline requiring their campaign to once again go in front of the UNSC for review. UK and France's Cameron and Sarkozy were allegedly in Tripoli along side warmongering imposter "intellectual" Bernard-Henri Levy, to quickly cement their open-ended commitment to the Benghazi terrorists, so as to permanently head off any previously self-imposed deadlines. Like the entire UN resolution, the deadline and review

process were there merely for show, and turn out to be yet another self-contrived mechanism to lend credibility and legitimacy for an otherwise illegitimate military intervention. Libyan rebel leader Mustafa Abdel Jalil could be seen walking literally arm-in-arm with Sarkozy and Cameron, with Levy skulking in the background, a truly disparaging, disgraceful, and treasonous imperial display for the entire continent of Africa, which is now standing once again on the edge of Western recolonization.

Photo: Treason. Libyan rebel "leader" Jalil is flanked, arm-in-arm, on his right by UK's David Cameron, and on his left by France's Nicolas Sarkozy, with just over his left shoulder, Bernard Levy walking behind him, a venomous pro-war lobbyist masquerading as a "philosopher" or "intellectual." This meager imperial parade easily doubles as a symbol for the attempted destruction of Libyan sovereignty.

,

Qaddafi's stubborn resistance against NATO is still threatening to collapse their efforts to seize Libya. Qaddafi's resistance has been so stubborn in fact, that it has tied up NATO's increasingly limited and ineffective resources long enough for other nations weathering similar Wall Street/London sponsored destabilizations to prevail against the foreign-funded unrest besieging them. Syria for example, has seemingly "broken the back" of armed terrorists operating under the cover of the corporate media's "peaceful protester" narrative. Reported first by geopolitical expert Dr. Webster Tarpley, the corporate media is now slowly conceding that indeed, Syria has worked its way out from under a clearly US-contrived "rebellion." With Libya's outcome still unclear, even a victory now would be Pyrrhic, and NATO hard pressed to use the "Libya precedence" as a means to sell intervention in Syria or Iran.

Other attempts to sow chaos and rebellion by the West in nations like Algeria have already failed, and the grand prize of starting renewed violence and unrest in Iran has fallen flat. Increasingly desperate, it looks as if Wall Street and London are preparing to play their last, and most desperate card - region wide violence centered around Israel. Attempts have been made throughout the entire "Arab Spring" to use understandable regional, even international contempt for the Israeli government as bait to legitimize and energize the "Arab Spring." This could be seen in false claims and rumors promoted by Western and Israeli media including that Israel was "shipping arms" to save Hosni Mubarak's regime in Egypt, or that Israeli-funded mercenaries were "assisting Qaddafi in Libya," and even that Qaddafi was "Jewish" and could seek refuge in Israel under Israeli law. Israeli press has also tried the cartoonish claim that Syria's Assad was Israel's "favorite Arab dictator of all" in an effort to undermine him politically.

US funded Biafra during the civil war and urged them on

US started corruption in Nigeria

US started all religious riots in Nigeria, including telling people in Borno to burn cars and houses and churches because of a cartoon published in Denmark

US started zoning in Nigeria

Em, Em, what else ooooooooohuhhuh Lets just keep blaming the US for everything[/quote]ignorance is really a cancer eating away at the minds of our people.

builder i want to commend you for trying to educate some sheep on this forum.

x factoria - you are in dire need of an education:

first of all the US govt has killed more people worldwide than any nation on this planet, they have over 700 military bases located all over the world - why? in order to STEAL the natural resources of any nation unfortunate enough to be under thier occupation. any nation who can not defend itself militarily from them is a target - FACT!!!!!

the US has invaded and annexed hundreds of nations across the globe, builder has mentioned just a few - there are many more.

HIV aids is a biological weapon invented by the US military in order to decimate the population of africa leaving africa defenceless and weak and easier to recolonise.

In the 1970s the US officially declared that certain so called third world countries with high population were a threat to the US's national security as a result a report was drafted entittled NSSM 200 in that report various recommendatinos were made on how to deal with the "problem" of the growing population of various third world countries (especially the ones with valuable natural resources )- nigeria was one of the countries mentioned in that report and a solution had to be found to deal with its high population, some of the recommendations made in that report were:

biological warfare (HIV aids)
war
famine
economic warfare ie using debt to permanently enslave and impoverish populations. today the IMF and the world bank have single handedly crippled africa by submerging africa in debt that can never be paid off.
as a result many african nations have handed over their natural resources, govt owned companies and other valuable assets to foreign so called investors who now more or less own entire african nations.

all of the above tactics are currently being used on various african nations including nigeria in order to destroy these countries and reduce them to weak, dependant puppet states thereby removing any threat that these various countries may ever pose to europe and america.

boko haram is a creation of US intelligence - just as al qaeda is - read about how al qaeda was created by a former US national security advisor in the early 1980s.

IBB was used by the americans and british to derail any chance of nigeria ever getting its act together, buhari was toppled by the CIA and replaced with US puppet IBB who shortly after agreed to borrow billions of dollars in loans from the IMF and implement SAP which wiped out the nigerian middle class, caused massive brain drain and began the downward spiral of nigeria's economy, MKO was eliminated by the CIA (susan rice) because of his stance on compensation for the slave trade

the british instigated the biafran war by stirring up hatred between the igbos aand the hausas - this is how europeans are able to stay on top - its called divide and rule - they are doing it again - but this time they are using boko haram and nigerians are about to fall for it again - they want us to kill each other so that they can come in as our saviours (just like they claim to have done in libya) and secure all the oil wells in the south, they say if you fail to learn from history it will keep repeating itself.
Politics › Re: Obasanjo Visits The Family Of Slain Boko Haram Leader by cap28: 11:00am On Sep 16, 2011
i think this is a clear indication that boko haram are not who many in nigeria have been led to beleive they are.

why would OBJ decide to negotiate with a group that has even gone as far as blowing up the UN building?

OBJ didnt feel the need to negotiate with the people of odi or gbamaratu so why negotiate with a group that poses an even greater threat to nigeria?

could it be because boko haram are actually being funded and backed by the west?

could it also be because OBJ is terrified of what will happen to him and his fellow looters if boko haram succeed in hijacking the nation, this method was used in libya, the TNC members are mainly CIA and MI6 agents who have been working with america and britain for decades  so this method would not be a new one, it is no secret that america want  permanent military bases all over the continent and they intend to do so using africom - boko haram is just part of the plan in making that happen.

OBJ recently criticised NATO's involvement in libya - thats really strange coming from a western puppet like him, why is he suddenly making u turns on his previous stance?

OBJ has shown himself to be one of the biggest traitors and enemies of nigeria, he has never done anything that serves the positive interests of the people of nigeria - all he is doing now is rushing to save himself and his fellow looters, if america could turn on mubarak what stops them from doing the same thing to the nigerian looters?

You opened the door for NATO to come onto the african continent to recolonise Libya, you endorsed France's takeover of Ivory Coast - did you think your own turn would not come?

cicero

isnt it therefore ironic that the only african nation which was able to use its resources for the benefit of its citizens and not for the benefit of western multinational oil companies and banks was destroyed by the  west?

owobokiri thanks for mentioning gabon - whenever people dismiss Gadaffi's success i always want to cite gabon as a comparison but i always  forget - gabon is an oil rich country with a populatino of only 1 million people and yet 80% of the population live below the poverty line, what did omar bongo do with all the oil revenue - oh yes he invited the french oil companies in to gabon to ra.pe and pillage.  by the way omar bongo ruled gabon for 42 years just like gadaffi but unlike gadaffi diverted the country's oil wealth into his private bank accounts in switzerland, he also financed various french presidential campaigns and they in turn returned the favour by allowing him to rule gabon for 42 years, after his death his son took over the reigns of power - i think by now any person with a functioning brain should be able to tell that the west are liars and criminals who are merely bamboozling dumb africans with all their BS about democracy.

the war in libya is not yet over, the rebels do not even have control over the whole country, there are still so many pro gadaffi strongholds because the truth of the matter is that the majority of libyans still support gadaffi, dont be fooled by the BS being churned out by the western propagandists.
Journalists who report the truth of what is really happening in libya are captured, tortured and killed by NATO and their rebel collaborators, the only journalists that are allowed to operate freely in libya are the agents of the western media who continue to churn out lie after lie.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Nato May Attack Nigeria If . . . . . . . . by cap28: 1:49am On Sep 15, 2011
an attack from NATO will only come if all other measures fail to work.

the first warning will be blackmail (aka wikileaks)

the second warning will be bomb blasts (boko haram)

the third warning will be an assassination attempt

if all of the above are unsucessful the final attempt will be a NATO invasion.

the above will only happen if nigeria starts selling oil to china in exchange for the yuan instead of the dollar, why? because this will undermine the US's financial position and it will weaken the dollar - the last person who challenged the US's financial position in this way was saddam hussein - he started selling his oil in exchange for euros to a number of nations - this is the reason that iraq was invaded and taken down, if nigeria attempts this - the same tthing will happen, i dont think nigeria has the guts though. i think sanusi is independent minded and might want to go down this route but his major obstacle will be the world bank puppet aka finance minister okonjo iweala who will definitely prevent this from happening.

In the Name of Almighty God, the Beneficent the Merciful:
Today we are witnessing the inevitable collapse of Western economies. Inevitable -- not because of the encompassing debt that Western nations have succumbed to. Inevitable -- not because of misgovernance and misappropriation of fiscal revenue by government officials and embezzlement by central banking institutions. No. It is inevitable due the economic structures of these economies at the root. The economic structure is a parasitic design. The economic structures of these economies require “host” economies from which to gain its sustenance and preservation.

The genius of this design is its ability to make the host economies believe they are themselves “dependent” on the “parasitic” economies -- and can neither sustain nor preserve themselves without the assistance, guidance, financial backing and currency of the “parasite” economies. Simply genius! An absolutely marvelous and wonderful design!

These parasitic economies required an external labor force in order to extract resources from external economies in order to import natural resources that would support and actually back these parasitic economic structures. This is understandable because these resources were not produced in large quantities within these economies. However, to accomplish this, those external economies had to be utterly destroyed in order to reap maximum (limitless) benefit. Actually, this was not the only option. A cooperative measure could have been instituted if desired. However, this was not the desired option.

Nonetheless, through deception and war-making, the twin institutions of slavery and colonialism were established. The purpose was to utilize the expertise and labor of the indigenous populations in order to extract the natural resources of those “host” economies in order to support and back the “parasite” economies of Europe.

Now we have the motivating factor behind European expansion into the Western hemisphere, Africa, Asia, and throughout the planet. This was an ingenious operation in its execution and effectiveness. The best executive factor is that the European populations actually convinced the indigenous populations that they can not produce anything for themselves from their own resources without the expertise of their successful European counterparts. This would be laughable if it was not true.

Let's fast-forward to the 1700s-1900s. All Western economies had currencies that were subjected to a monetary standard. This is amechanism that allows a currency to be backed by a monetized commodity which is set at a particular nominal price per measure of that commodity. This set price/measure attribute was the indicator that detected inflationary and deflationary pressure at its earliest stages. This detection enabled the economies to check these market forces at their earliest stages by taking out and adding in currency in order to sustain the set price/measure of that monetized commodity. This brought price stability, monetary stability -- for it stabilized and preserved the value of the currency, and ultimately, economic stability.

Although these parasitic economies were dependent on stolen labor, stolen natural resources, and stolen wealth, they were able to sustain and preserve themselves in real terms because they were able to support and back themselves with real resources. The currencies used and created by these European economies represented real value as a unit of account.

They only represented real value because the real value was in the real natural resources from which they extracted from the “host” economies. In other words, the currencies had no value within and of themselves.

Each parasitic economy had its own currency with its own monetary standard. These currencies were superimposed on their colonial “host” economies. This added to the dependency of these colonies on their colonial masters. These various monetary standards naturally had some difficulties in terms of trading and business. This is what prompted the call for Western nations to unite their currencies. Of course, there were other factors as well. During the first World War, the indigenous populations had experienced the power of the firearm at first hand when they used these weapons against the brothers and enemies of their colonial masters. This is what helped sparked the idea of revolution and freeing themselves of their imperialist masters.

The wickedly-wise Western powers saw this and needed to make preparations for this. It was not the idea of indigenous populations using weapons against them that scared them. On the contrary, it was the indigenous populations being economically-independent of them that warranted nightmares. A circumstance needed to be created that would enable these “parasite” economies to continue their control and extraction of natural resources (wealth in real terms) in their “host” economies in perpetuity. The most effective and proven means to accomplish this is through debt. The best established and most proven means to create debt is through war-making.

sell outs, scumbags and reincarnated slave traders - thats nigerian leaders for you - no sense of africanness, no sense of self respect or self love - why would you recognise people who are killing your own citizens?

your day of reckoning is at hand - america and britain do not have permanent friends just permanent interests - they can change at the drop of a hat.

those racists that nigeria recognised are not even in control of libya, bani walid and sirte are still under gadaffi's control and the people of those towns have refused to surrender, NATO is now dropping mustard gas on the innocent people of that town and still the people say NO WE WON'T SURRENDER - i respect their courage and dignity, LONG LIVE MUAMMAR GADAFFI - DEATH TO NATO AND THEIR REBEL RAT COLLABORATORS.

The most effective and proven means to accomplish this is through debt. The best established and most proven means to create debt is through war-making.

The Bretton Woods Conference of 1944 from 1-22 July is where the Western “parasite” economies directly pegged their currencies to the US dollar. These “parasite” economies literally dropped their monetary standards and adopted the “gold standard” through the US dollar. The central banks of these “parasite” economies and their “host” economies harmonized in terms of policy in order to become effective. This conference is where the International Reconstruction and Development Bank (IRDB), the International Development Bank (now IDA), the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank (IRDB and IDA) originate. Of course, the League of Nations became the United Nations in 1945. The same year these international banks were established. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Bank, http://www.un.org/aboutun/history.htm)

The history of these organizations and institutions verifies the intent of their creation as mentioned in the paragraph above.

Of course, after the liberation wars, these banking institutions and Western economies offered to help these newly-emancipated economies in the rebuilding process. They loaned money to these newly-emancipated economies in order to rebuild the infrastructure and help them to “re-structure” their economies in order to “pay them back”. The most poisonous advice given, in my opinion, was the advice to devalue their currency. The deception is simple. It was explained that if they devalue their currency, prices will rise. The rise in prices will generate more revenue and increase economic growth. What these Western economists and international banking institutions failed to explain was that the economic growth would be inflationary. This means that eventually costs would catch up with revenue levels -- significantly diminishing profit margins which will result in economic decline.

The other aspect of this inflationary economic growth is that the purchasing power of their currency will become significantly weak where their former parasitic colonial masters will be able to extract resources and labor from those “host” economies at a much cheaper rate than in their own economies. The implementation of this failed monetary policy is the direct reason why Western economies continue to have economic dominance in so-called developing economies. This is also the direct reason why Western economies can buy raw materials at a very inexpensive rate, create finished products, sell it back to the “host” economies at retail prices, and still make ridiculous profits although the “host” currency has a significantly-reduced purchasing power.

Fast-forward to 15 August 1971; the former US President Nixon was directed to sever the US dollar-gold link—liberating the US dollar from the restraints and the constraints of the gold monetary standard which governed US monetary policy. The fiat bill was created, and now the US economy was subjected to the money-supply decisions and the interest rate targets of the Federal Reserve bank. Although the dollar was no longer connected to gold, the world currencies were still connected to the US dollar. This, in effect, subjected the world economies to the money-supply decisions and interest rate targets of the Federal Reserve bank. (Now you know how what happened in the US housing market grew into the so-called World Financial Crisis. Oops!)

Whatever happens in the US economy affects the world economies, and since the “host” economies devalued their currencies, they feel the effects of reckless money-supply forces and manipulated interest rates the earliest and the hardest. In a nutshell, the world economies are controlled by remote control via the US dollar -- including China! See “Warning to Latin American Governments” in the R & A section at: http://www.mge19.com) There's no other reason why China is experiencing inflation in general and food-inflation in particular -- except that the yuan is still directly pegged to the US dollar. Of course, the yuan was de-pegged from the US dollar by 2%. This increased the purchasing power of the yuan by 2% -- allowing the yuan to receive more US dollars for less yuan -- the center of the US-Sino trade disputes. However, the yuan is not 100% independent of the US dollar; it is only 2% of the way.

What is the point of this? What will African economies do once the US dollar and the euro collapse? African economies are in a very vulnerable position because of their artificial dependency on external economies -- including China. It has been stated that those who control the resources of Africa will become the next superpower for the 21st Century. In 2005, you could hardly find any so-called developed economy seriously considering serious investment in many African nations.

Africa suffered from severe capital flight. It was known to be a hotbed for corruption, wars, famine, and poverty. Not much has changed, yet today there is an explosion of investors looking to invest in Africa. Investment capital, infrastructural financing, and other forms of capital are blasting their way to African economies from the US, Europe, China, and India. France, NATO, Africom, and other entities from parasitic economies are increasing their military presence in the continent.

Is their a sudden interest in the people of Africa or in the resources of Africa? Well, if it is the control of the resources of Africa that will make the prospective nations the next superpower in the 21st Century, should not Africa control its own resources and become the 21st Century's next superpower? I'm just saying. What worries me is this: We have the Francophone nations still using the franc. This is why the French President Sarkozy interfered in the Ivory Coast elections because he did not want the Francophone African nations to develop their own monetary system. This is the same reason why Libya is being bombarded today.

Brother Leader Al-Qathafi wanted to establish the gold dinar as the Pan-African currency and create a Pan-African monetary system that would no longer accept anything but gold to exchange for oil. This would have broken Europe just a little bit quicker than Europe is breaking itself. We have Anglophone African nations that still use the euro and are members of the British Commonwealth -- although those nations are still impoverished.

Let's take Zimbabwe for example. They are a revolutionary nation that has taken back colonially-stolen land and given the land back to the indigenous Blacks. This must be applauded and admired because this is a true act of justice and liberation for the indigenous Blacks of that nation who has suffered unspeakable evils by their white occupiers. Because of this selfless act, Zimbabwe is punished by economic sanctions. The sanctions caused the Zimbabwean economy to suffer hyper-inflation. In 2007, I had offered to help them save the Zimbabwean dollar from the effects of hyper-inflation. I have made this offer on several occasions.

However, they decided to shelf the Zimbabwean dollar and implement foreign currencies such as the US dollar, the euro, and the Azanian rand in order to stabilize their economy. This has been successful, although foreign currency has been difficult to attain, and those whose savings were in Zimbabwean dollars were wiped out due to the hyper-inflation. Now that the euro is collapsing and the US dollar is beginning its fall, what will the Zimbabwean economy do? Zimbabwe does have a “Look East” policy where China and India are making strategic investments in Zimbabwe under very good terms. This is great! It is great to have an alternative to the beastly dealings with the West. However, the yuan is still directly pegged to the US dollar and is subjected to the value-pendulum swings of the US dollar and so is the rupee.

My question is: Instead of “Looking East” why not “Look to Itself”? Zimbabwe alone was the third largest producer of gold in the world. It is mineral rich. All African nations are mineral and resource rich. Why not connect your currency to the land by backing it with a monetized commodity and disconnect it from the collapsing fiat currency market which is dominated by the parasitic economies? When the US dollar falls and the euro falls, the world markets are going to go down with them. This includes China -- the largest holder of US debt. It is high time that Africa become the next economic superpower by gaining control over its own resources. I mean, c'mon, how simple is that?
