hybrid77:
In enforcing the 48-hour curfew imposed by the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, to stem the activities of hoodlums in the state, some soldiers on Saturday reportedly forced a medical doctor, Raphael Onyemekehia, to swim in a pool of muddy water along the Effurun-Warri Road in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. when the doctor was on his way to the clinic, the victim and the state’s medical association said.

The soldiers forced the doctor to swim inside the muddy water at gunpoint while he was heading for work.

Mr Onyemekehia, a consultant physician, reportedly identified himself to the soldiers with his identity card before he was ordered to enter the gutter and swim for allegedly violating the curfew.

The soldiers allegedly told the medical doctor that nobody was exempted from the curfew by the order given to them.

But Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had while declaring the curfew exempted essential workers including medical workers from the restriction of movement owing to the violence that greeted the #EndSARS protests across the country.

However, the soldiers told the doctor that he violated the state-wide curfew declared by the state governor.

They reportedly threatened to shoot him if he failed to swim in the gutter.

A dejected Mr Onyemekehia was said to have swum for about 30 minutes before a senior military officer who ran into the group saved him from further humiliation.

The military authorities are yet to react to the allegations.

Allegations
Mr Onyemekehia confirmed the incident but directed this reporter to speak with his union, whom he said he had reported to.

The state chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Emmanuel Nwose, confirmed the development.

Mr Nwose disclosed that he had reported the incident to Mr Okowa.

He demanded that the perpetrators be fished out and prosecuted by the military authorities to serve as a warning to overzealous soldiers.

The NMA chairman said, “On his way to work he was beaten up by soldiers at Airport Junction in Effurun around 11 am today (Saturday). The victim is Raphael Onyemekehia, a consultant physician. He reported to us and said the soldiers were without their name tags.

“When he got to the checkpoint, he showed them his ID card and told them he was going to work but they refused him passage. Thereafter, they ordered him to swim in the murky water inside the gutter. Since they pointed a gun at him, he had no option than to enter the water to swim.

“While he was swimming, they were flogging him until a superior officer came and told them to allow him to go home. He sustained injuries. This is not acceptable to us. As doctors, we are essential workers and when we say we want to attend to patients, we should be allowed to do that.

“What we (NMA) are demanding is that those military personnel should be identified and brought to book. If nothing is done about this, we will be forced to withdraw our services until our member gets justice.

“We are calling on the Delta State Government and the military authorities to fish out the soldiers that committed this crime and with necessary disciplinary action taken against them. Our members must be duly compensated or we will call for the withdrawal of our services.”

The 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Effurun, has no spokesperson. A military contact in the 16 Brigade, Charles Ekeocha, told our reporter to come to the barracks “to make any inquiry” as he is not the spokesperson.

They have freedom of expression. Why should they deny other citizens their freedom of movement for 12 days and 12 nights?

People were trapped in hold up on Lagos Ibadan Express way for days and many were unable to go to work knowing fully well that most Nigerians feed from hand to mouth. Is that a peaceful protest?

I and many supported them but later it became nuisance. Even after their demands were met, they continued to disturb the peace till everything broke down.

Did you know that Lekki axis has only one major road? (Blocked)

Did you know that Lagos Ibadan Express road is the busiest in Nigeria? (Blocked)

Did you know that most head offices of Nigeria companies are located in Lekki axis?

Did you know that most billionaires in Southern part of Nigeria are residing in Lekki axis?

The protest was already constituting security risk to the calibre of people living in that area.

Otedola, Dangote, Elunmelu called the protesters. All their admonitions fell on in deaf ears.

The MMA was already turning back flights because of the protest.

The towgate itself lost more that 200 million naira in a week to the protest, now consider other businesses that were affected.

The protesters turned the whole thing to merriment, away from what it was meant for.
Is that how protest is done abroad?

I think they deserved to be sent away may be not by bullets.

There are two types of hoodlum . Physical and online hoodlum. Online hoodlums are political agents used by the politicians to twart the genuine course of Nigerian youths through social media propaganda.
Physical hoodlums are political thugs that government used during election, to disrupt peaceful protests and turned to monsters who loot and burn properties mostly owned by politicians and government. Online hoodlums will quote me now

The Economic Impact of the present situation in Nigeria will be felt for more than 5 years.

The most affected group of people in this whole riot and looting is the Small and Medium Scale Business and as we all know they are the back bone of any organization.

I in no form support the violence in regards to the Lekki shooting, i never supported it and will never, but the looting and anarchy going on presently will cause a greater problem than the problem we were trying to solve.

Shops are being looted, businesses burnt down, home being robbed and so on, we all hear of Somalia and Syria the present situation is not different from that.

I want to ask everyone a question today. If you were an investor will you invest in Nigeria ? my own answer is No.

No country can grow without foreign direct investment, most of the people i know who live abroad will never invest in Nigeria: some say the insecurity and lawlessness is too worrisome.

Let us use what ever means we have to calm the rioting and looting down, discourage it in anyway you can..... it is the only way forward.
Thanks to brainless leaders who think guns can bring peace. There can never be peace without justice.

PRESS BRIEFING ON THE CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF LT GEN TY BURATAI's MEETING WITH PRINCIPAL STAFF OFFICERS, GENERAL OFFICERS COMMANDING AND FIELD COMMANDERS HELD AT THE ARMY HEADQUARTERS CONFERNCE ROOM ABUJA ON MONDAY 26 OCTOBER 2020

Ladies and Gentlemen of the press

1. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai has just finished an important meeting with his Principal Staff Officers (PSOs), General Officers Commanding(GOCs) and Field Commanders this morning here at the Army Headquarters Conference Room.

2. At the meeting, the COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai made it unambiguously clear to the PSOs, GOCs and Field Commanders that there will be no room for disloyalty amongst all officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army (NA). He directed that they (PSOs, GOCs and Field Commanders) must reiterate to all their subordinates that the NA is determined to ensure democratic stability in Nigeria as the only panacea for development and progress. General Buratai also said - "The best system of governance is democracy and we must all ensure that Nigeria's democracy remains stable and steady. We will not allow any force, elements or destabilising agents in or outside our country to set our beloved country on fire. We remain resolute in doing everything possible to ensure that subversive elements, detractors and other enemies of this great nation do not achieve their aims and objectives of destabilisation".

3. General Buratai drew the attention of all the participants at the meeting that - "The events of the past few days in our dear nation have shown the determination of some unscrupulous individuals and groups to destabilize Nigeria by all means. These individuals, groups and other undesirable elements have hijacked the peaceful #ENDSARS protest marches resulting to widespread violence, acts of wanton destruction and looting of public and private properties in many parts of the country. These acts led to the imposition of curfew in several states of the federation" - he stated.

4. He also said that right from the onset of ENDSARS protest, the NA has been aware of the grand design by the sponsors of the protests to draw it into the crisis. The plan was to embark on massive propaganda to discredit the military and the government so as to set the people against the NA once it is called out to aid the civil authorities. The NA being aware of the devilish plan was careful not to be dragged in and issued the initial warning through a press release on 14 October 2020 of our resolve to secure and safeguard a United Nigeria. Now the detractors alongside their local and international collaborators have mischievously and deliberately misrepresented troops' efforts to ensure compliance with the curfew imposed by legitimate civil authorities in Lagos and other states. These agitators are falsely accusing the NA of being responsible for the activities of the miscreants despite glaring evidence to the contrary. They have continually threatened to report the NA to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and also threatened various forms of sanctions against personnel and their families. Thankfully however, a large percentage of Nigerians and the international community have started seeing through the smokescreen of falsehood and deliberate misrepresentation of facts being orchestrated by enemies of Nigeria and have retracted their earlier false publications.

5. The COAS further said -"Despite all these, the NA has continued to exercise restraint applied all the Principles of Internal Security Operations and fully abided by the internationally recognized Rules of Engagement as contained in our published Standard Operating Procedures for Internal Security Operations which are derived from the International Human Rights Laws and are in accordance with the international principles guiding the use of force". He used the opportunity to re-emphasize that none of the PSOs, GOCs, Field Commanders and other officers and soldiers of the NA should be afraid of the ICC for carrying out their legitimate duties as stated in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and other extant laws, rules and regulations of Nigeria. He further averred that -"They have every right under the Constitution to carry out assigned and legitimate roles of maintaining law and order in aid of civil authorities and other security agencies. He reiterated that anyone who doubts their commitment to their constitutional responsibilities must be made to know that they remain committed, loyal and unwavering in ensuring the unity, stability and security of our dear country Nigeria. He charged them to show the detractors and other elements of destabilization that they are neither part of them nor in anyway supportive of their activities at all times. He directed that any act of arson or attempt to kill or maim any military or security personnel and other law abiding civilians must be responded to quickly and decisively.

6. According to him -"In dealing with any security threat, they must fully cooperate with personnel of the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies and must ensure that everyone is in full compliance with imposed curfews and any other extant security instructions in force".

7. General Buratai also alerted the PSOs, GOCs and Field Commanders that -"The recent activities by unscrupulous elements have shown their desire to acquire arms and ammunition at all cost from security personnel. No less than 10 AK-47 rifles have been lost to these miscreants in the past 2 weeks across the country with attendant lost of lives of personnel. He charged Commanders to nip in the bud this emerging trend at all cost, and directed them to warn their troops on internal security or on guard duties outside the barracks to be at maximum alert at all times and to also deal decisively with any attack on their duty locations". General Buratai concluded that - "There is no choice between a democratically United, strong and prosperous Nigeria and a nation disunited in a state of anarchy and retrogression. We must all strive for a united, strong, stable and progressive Nigeria".

8. At the end of the meeting, the PSOs, GOCs and Field Commanders resolved to:

a. Remain Loyal to the Federal Government of Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari.

b. Ensure the unity and indivisibility of our country.

c. Assist the Federal Government to bring an end to insecurity across the country and to prevent miscreants and criminals from hijacking the ENDSARS protest nation wide.

d. Remain focus and not to be deterred by any local or international threats.

e. All Commanders have been directed to intensify joint training with the Nigerian Police and other Sister Security Agencies to enhance interagency collaboration and cooperation.

9. Finally, I wish to extend the appreciation and best regards of the COAS. You are please requested to give this maximum publicity. Thank you for your attention and safe journey back to various destinations.

On a serious note, it comes down to GPS .

The US, Russia and now China have their own GPS technology that synchronizes time and location.

We use the US GPS system.

Could be China fcking around with the US GPRS system as this has an effect not only on virtually all devices with a time clock but also high tech weapons, missiles, etc.

The Taiwan straits are getting hotter by the day with US deploying naval assets and troops. May be the chinkiods hacking into the US GPS system.

Or.....

Could be related to the erratic polar displacements that have become more erratic since we entered a mini Nova era.

As the north pole drifts from it's current location, the satellites that are used to track time and location deviate considerably.

But this doesn't explain why smart phone devices connected to same GPRS will be recording different times.

I will go with the chinks hacking into and messing with the GPRS .
We are saying similar things. Atoms are used to make international time. These atoms can be affected by earth rotation and likes. Our devices can be affected differently because of atomic components . My tablet, smartphone, and laptop are showing different times since yesterday morning, and setting for all is west africa time.
