Atreides: aww. . Thanks. Also thank daddy for buying me my first Hadley Chase when i was in pry. 4-i absolutely love reading and so writing comes naturally to me. And also thank old people(mom, dad etc) for always complaining about text language. I only write in shorthand when im texting to conserve space and money-otherwise i believe in writing in clear, concise English. It prevents unnecessary confusion. And yeah, ill bear with him-its not like i have any other choice. wow, he did that? that's just grand well take care of you. |

@OP, let me begin by saying that i am impressed at the way you write. for someone your age, all your peers write is 'short hand'. keep it up. if the way you write is the way you reason, then i really don't think there's anything to worry about. try and bear with your dad for now and see if you don't thank him later . |

Read the thread from beginning hoping to contribute only to see the the tide has changed. well, guess we can't always get to play marriage counsellors @OP, i have a lot in common with your man (apart from smoking and clubbing ), but it definitely doesn't mean i don't love my wife. the difference is that my wife knows it. and we manage to speak to each other no matter what. please enjoy ur new found 'love life'. conversation is the salt of marriage. @CC and others, please keep up the good work. |
Politics › Re: San Drowns In Lagos Beach Trying To Rescue Secretary by Carlosein(m): 3:23pm On Dec 28, 2010 |
All those waiting for agberos to come rescue drowning swimmers make me laugh. they are often the ones who lure pple to swim even when they are reluctant.
i was at eleko on sunday last week. usually i just enter the water and measure my level by not going too deep. but these agberos came and were luring me to come deeper that it was okay. i simply ignored them.
later on another swimmer in my group told me that there was a deep ditch around the spot where they were asking me to go. and i found out it was true. so u can imagine that.
may their souls rest in peace. |

As for me, here goes: 1. my wife disturbs me at night, says that i snore she jabs my ribs everynight to say 'turn over joo' 2. she can worry about anything i swear and me i'm just a happy go lucky guy (akunamatata). when all is well and there's nothing to worry about, she'll say 'ah, me i'm afraid o. this one dat everything is ok so' 3. she loves to walk around the house in her birthday suit. i don't mind when it's just us, but she does it with siblings on both sides. it just irks me no limits. Aahh!!! but i know say i get my own too o. |

Krayola: haha . Baba nla breakdown of communication. I think most of us are guilty of skipping pages of posts but at least read the first few and the last few to get some hint about the conversation that is going on. 5 pages of virtually nothing. So sad. This thread for sweet. make it 'some'. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Eating Amala, Is This Biblical? by Carlosein(m): 2:29pm On Nov 15, 2010 |
Krayola: hehehe. See as pastorAIO start nuclear war because of Amala. I think what he is trying to get at is how people use the bible as a guide for everything, and at what point this exercise may become silly. People have asked questions about all types of practices but hardly ever get the kinds of hostile responses this thread has. I wonder why that is.
How should the Bible guide believers? Are u allowed to do only what the bible explicitly endorses? Are u forbidden to do only what the bible forbids? Is whatever has not been commanded by the Bible forbidden?
e.g. If the Bible does not explicitly condemn/forbid pedophilia does that mean it is allowed?
If someone asks "is Pedophilia unbiblical"? what will an adequate, bible supported, response look like? I've seen some Christians give a lot of Muslims stick for this and I don't think I've ever seen a biblical quote supporting their rejection of the practice.
what about bestiality?
What about the cruel murder of animals for sport?
What about the environment?
What about eating amala?
When can we use our own "best" judgment to decide our conduct, and can this ever take precedence over what the Bible says? two thumbs up for this! |
Christianity Etc › Re: Eating Amala, Is This Biblical? by Carlosein(m): 2:28pm On Nov 15, 2010 |
i neither support nor condone pastorAIO's post cos i read it for what i think it is, satire. but i want to say that the way some christians go about asking 'show me where this or that is in the bible' begets such reactions.
that being said, i'm not sure about 'everything black is evil and all white is good'. |
