Either way he maybe called up for interview during renewal... my fear is that he maybe deported (denied entry) because he waited till his visa has almost expired before traveling except in a case where he has solid travel history.
If it was me... I will risk it and spend less than 2 weeks in U.S before my visa expire.

ok, info is clear ,he has alot of travel history, he will also get a letter from HR stating he has requested for these trip on 5 occassion but was not granted due to project he is handling at work place, what do you think?and he is staying for 15 days, i.e 6 days before visa expiration

It is at the discretion of the CBP officer to let him into U.S or not and decide on how long he will stay in U.S but instead of doing that why not renew the visa and apply for his father asap.... but if he's ready to answer a lot of questions he can go ahead with his travel plan.

@seyewest, are you saying he can apply for renewal of visa before expiration or do you mean he should wait for it to expire then apply for renewal, please clarify?he didnt use the visa atall since it was issued, hence the need to travel before expiration, advise

Good Morning my good friends! I want to renew my UK visa to 2years. I have understood there is no option in the website for visa renewal then I apply as fresh application.
Now I want to renew my visa using conference /workshop as my reasons for applying which will not take Max two weeks and I need a 2year visa.
Is it possible for VO to grant you 2year visa for just a conference or do I use the previous reasons I gave which is visiting my cousin. Also is it possible for you to tick 6months and VO will grant 2years for me since it's renewal.
Secondly I have 7.6M in my account but transfered 1.5 to a very close relation to support him for something. Will that affect my visa. My bank transaction details is transparent . I work in one of the oil and gas industry and receive upto 600k per month. My fear is that huge amount I removed from my account if it will speak against me.

Please I your advice
from my little knowledge about UK visa, i dont think you have anything to worry about.i know people who got 5yrs visa with balance of less than 2M.
maybe the pros in the house will elaborate more on other item raised

No you can't and that was not my point, the daddy has every right to play a part in the child's life and you are still a single mother, the point here is that he will not be traveling with you but he has given his consent for the child to travel with you.

thank you, very much. your response is very clear.will proceed to apply this week.

I don't think that is needed but for the sake of rest of mind and doting all t's and i's you can do that

Was refused twice for the same reason?
first reason was incomplete documentation - i misplaced the consent letter during my ups and down at TLS
second reason - apply as same category or be in UK at same time or show evidence of sole custody/responsibility.
My other concern is that he(the father) contributed some huge amount into my account and the name appears??though he already has a visa.
but iget your advise clearly now, take him out of the picture completely, right

Have arranged for a carer via my project supervisor, what other care do you advise i arrange

You are over stressing this, use the blank page in the form for additional information to explain to the ECO that you are a single mother traveling with your kid, the daddy has given his consent and that it will be impossible to travel with the daddy as you are no longer together and never married.

Make sure that your kid's care arrangements are taken care of..things like school, who looks after him while you are at the university. This is in addition to your maintenance money.

thanks you @ justwise,my apologies that am over stressing these,my daughter has been denied twice and have spent lot and its really hurting.my last question, do i need to swear any affidavit claiming sole custody/responsibility to support these?

Since both of you are not legally married then i dont see a reason for him to apply as your dependant. If you still have the required funds for your daughter in your account then reapply for her. These were the documents i used: sworn affidavit that am a single mum, father’s consent letter and a sworn affidavit by dad stating have been the one taking care of the child since birth, dad’s ID, child’s birth certificate showing my maiden name, letter from child’s school as well as invoices from sch showing me as the payee of his fees. All these shows that you are the main custodian of your daughter and not going with her to the Uk is not an option for u. I also printed an application i sent to a carer website to show i have made provision for my child’s care while am away at school.

thank you, i will take the sworn affidavit route then, i didnt know it will work, i do hope VO wont say its coming now or even too early as i intend to get it on monday.

https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa/family-members - and what about these link?please advise

I think this was the clause that affected you. You showed from all indications that her father contributes to her upbringing. The only way this could work for you is to show you have been the sole provider for the child, i stated earlier in my reply that i got invoices from his school stating me as the payee of his fees since inception.

many thanks for your information, the father has advised that we both do a sworn affidavits as you stated but since we are not expert in these situation i wanted other opinion to weigh in before we proceed.my other reason is because, he has contributed to her upbringing and also contributed money showing his name in the account. many thanks again

Your baby papa contributed money into your account for care and school fees. That’s fine. But that doesn’t make or qualify him as your dependant does it?

Plus

You mentioned previously that he is NOT your partner didn’t you?

IMHO, you are making a simple matter complicated.

please what is the best advise and way forward?i need help

Have you now found the misplaced document? Or a new one has been drafted?
many thanks,a new consent letter was drafted alongside his visa page attached with data page of passport and a word of appeal signed with his full contacts included, yet they gave these reason for refusal.

do i just apply as a single mother or do i make him apply as dependant?

meanwhile i also read that "unless i am the sole surviving parent or has had a sole responsibility for her upbringing". i really dont understand these line. please all i need help. i want to re-apply again,i have spent so much already as these last application was super priority

In this case, he is technically not your partner since he has a/another family, he's just your child's dad and shouldn't have been listed as your partner on your application. According to UKVI, a partner is someone you're in a dating, sexual relationship with and with whom future marital relationship is likely.
You will need your child's birth certificate with both of your names on it, consent letter from the dad and any custody documents, if applicable. You should also be able to show that there isn't any existing relationship aside coparenting but since
It seems that you listed him as your partner on your application, that might be a tad tricky.

do i apply as a single mum for my daughter or do i apply dependant for both of them, considering the fact that he (the father) also contributed money into my account for care and school fees

I dont know what you stated in your application for the VO to have arrived at that decision. I applied for my tier4 visa along with my child as a single mum and we both got our visas, the only document relating to his father is just the consent form, sworn affidavit and his ID. I don’t think the father of your child needs to apply alongside for your child to get a dependant visa except if you already disclosed some information that was put into consideration.

REFUSAL NOTE STATES - In order to qualify under this category both your parents are required to be lawfully present in the UK or at the same time be applying for entry clearance under the same category unless if there are any other serious family or other considerations for now refusing this application.

I didnt not state him as my partner when i was applying, i only submitted the birth certificate of my daughter where his name appears as the father. the only mistake i saw in that application was that i didnt submit the consent letter (which i misplaced) during the up and down movement ,that application was returned with "incomplete documentation" as reason for visa refusal and mine was issued. the father of my daughter already has a visa,my question now is what do i do?should both of them apply for tier 4 dependant?

I think someone answered you before.
1. Yes but you need to have lived at same address for at least 2 years.
2. No. The UK recognises unmarried partners.
See the extract below, culled from https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa/family-members
Family members
Your family members (dependants) might be able to apply to join or remain with you in the UK if they’re from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.

A dependant is either:

your husband, wife or civil partner
your unmarried or same-sex partner
your child under 18 years old - including if they were born in the UK during your stay

THANK YOU, I DIDNT SEE STATEMENT THAT STATES WE MUST HAVE LIVED FOR TWO YEARS TOGETHER, MOREOVER HE HAS A SEPARATE FAMILY, WHAT DO YOU ADVISE PLS?

@mimilyrics,
no we have not lived in same address, we live separately,he is got another family but we have travelled to different countries together together in the last 5-6yrs. i have gone through the link you sent. so do you still advise that he apply as dependant, does he stand a chance?because they have refused my daughter and the refusal note, states that unless he applies on same category with me, my daughter wont get a visa. please i need the best advise. i have my visa already.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by carnal: 5:01am On Sep 08, 2018
The last application of my daughter that was refused and the reason they gave is that the UK Law stipulates that "her both parents are required lawfully to be present in the UK or at the same time be applying for entry clearance under the same category".
The father of my daughter already has a visitor's visa (2 years already),Hence i want to enquire that since we are not LEGALLY married and do not reside in the same house, can he ;
1. apply for a dependant visa on my tier 4 visa
2. is there any UK law that states that he cant apply as dependant on my tier 4 since we are not married. urgent reply pls
