On Tuesday, April 10th 2018 there were reports and a video alleging that a citizen was beaten up by SARS officials along Haruna bus-stop, Ogba, Lagos which allegedly led to the victim's death.

The Lagos state command has released a statement stating that the allegations are unfounded. According to the PPRO, Chike Oti, after carrying out investigations, they found out that nothing of such happened and the incident was also not reported at any Police station.

The statement reads;
The attention of the Lagos State Police Command has been drawn to the news making the rounds on the social media that SARS operatives, on Monday 9th of April, 2018, beat a citizen until he was dead.

Based on the video clip of the incident which went viral on the social media, the Command began an investigation into matter.

Part of its findings was that no such incident took place at Haruna Bus stop, Ogba on Monday 9th April,2018; there was no record of it being reported at any of the police formations within Ogba Area Command nor was it reported at any of the Command's complaint platforms.

Besides the above, it is a common knowledge that such an incident cannot happen in the city of Lagos without an uproar at the venue of incident; it is in this regards that plain clothes detectives were deployed to enquire from the people living and doing business around the popular Haruna bus stop whether such incident ever happened in their area and not a few were embarrassed by such question because according to them it never happened.

The Command therefore wishes to advise the public to take unverified news emanating from social media platforms with a pinch of salt. Media houses of all categories are also advised to seek confirmation of information available to them from the police before pushing it out to the public.

A London-based lady on Twitter with the handle @Diamsraven has taken to the micro-blogging platform to narrates how she was fired unjustly at her place of work for reporting a much older coworker for sexual harassment.

According to her, after filling the complaint, she was told something would be done but nothing was done. Rather, she was fired.

"3 weeks ago, I reported a much older co-worker for sexual harassment, was told something was going to be done about it (nothing was done)

Today I got called to the office thinking that we were going to discuss the issue, instead i’ve been fired from my post.

Nothing in that meeting addressed anything I reported. Instead they all of a sudden feel that i’m not “right” for the post

I’m so angry. Not because I lost my job but because it took a lot out of me to report this man. I was scared that I would lose my job but I did it anyways knowing his long history with other female colleagues at our post and their similar complaints which has gone unheard

Have also found out the two female colleagues who had reported him had since left the post with no notice whilst I was away.

I have just been informed (with screenshot conversations where he was laughing at the fact that he was already informed of my firing) that the person I had reported was made aware that I would be fired from my post before I even knew anything about it.

I didn’t have much quarrels with my manager but this is highly unprofessional & just further lets me know that I wasn’t fired because I was not right for the job but because she favours a pervert instead

It is sickening to me how another woman (especially a mother) can literally treat another woman like shit for fighting for women’s rights"

"I was once 80 pounds, in the hospital having tons of tests run. Now I'm 120 pounds and immensely healthy. Whether you're super skinny or overweight, your feelings about yourself are valid. Listen to your gut and don't ever let someone tell you how you should or shouldn't look."

"I'm just really happy I can use my story to turn this into something positive and open the conversation of body positivity. So many women struggle with their weight and not feeling like they are enough. For me, this isn't even about my ex anymore. It's about how reaching your goals is possible," she added.

A Nigerian man physically fights and kills a “demonic” cat in Osun State that fell from ceiling right inside his parlor and attacked him in the middle of the night

A young woman identified as Nunu, who slashed her boyfriend's throat in Sapele, Delta State, has pleaded for forgiveness.

The victim, Osagie Ikede is in stable condition and being cared for at the hospital by two of his lovers, who takes shift, one cleaning him up, the other takes care of the feeding.

Speaking to The Advocate, from her hide-out, Nunu said;
"All what Obage said was not true, though we have been dating for 3 months as claimed, Obagie has been treating me badly and I have been enduring so many abuses from him"

Nunu, who was looking un-kept and visibly distressed, said she that though they have been having problems they have a way of settling it.

"We love each other and it was never intentional that this happened, he slapped me and I was angry. The razor blade was not meant to harm him, I had actually bought the razor blade to cut my nail, but when he came shouting angrily that I had reported him to his mother, which led to him slapping me, I attacked him out of provocation.

"I am sorry for what has happened; it is the devil’s handwork. I want Obagie and his family to forgive me. I still love him and I am sure he love me too Nunu pleaded.

She explained that she was ready to bear the cost of his medical treatment, “but nobody has reached me, I even bought provision for him please beg Obagie for me.”

A Nigerian man and a Facebook user, Larry Shola took the platform to share his encounter with a woman who brought her two kids and house-help to a restaurant.

According to the man, the woman placed an order for rice and chicken for her kids while she gave the help only biscuits.
