SoftSport:Skilled worker does not mean you have to become a citizen. Go their work and go back to your country, don’t abuse their system, don’t collect benefits. I do t see what is shrink with this. Diverse nation is what is killing Britain! I don’t like Kemi but I endorse her stance. She is clearly doing what the whites want to do but are afraid to do. So they elected a black person to do it. Fix your country, pay attention to who you elect to represent you and you won’t have to go to Britain. |
ValarDoharis:when you father is your mother's sister, you give birth to brain damaged r3tards like this village eeediot! |
ValarDoharis:oga if you cannot talk without bringing emotions into topics, please find someone else to quote. I am notinterested in discussions with frustrated village eediots |
comrChris:you think your votes matter today? no be person wey dey ballot you go vote for, na you go decide who dey ballot? No be North presidency dey go for 2031? nonsense is when you think you are more important than you are. you are not a delegate, you are not a member of any political party, you are not in the village close to the votters and you think you have a say in who becomes president because you vote? Education has clearly not taught you how to think properly. The myth of democracy is the illusion that you decide your leaders...you dont. Even in America until recently they were always preselected by the elite. It is a failure of the system that produced the likes Of Obama and Trump. |
Xisnin:By your argument, he also has nothing to gain in an alliance where he wont be the president or VP. Kwakwanso is a bride to both parties but he only got 10% in 2 states, in 25 of 37 states/FCT he didnt even get 1% and got only 6.4% of the overall vote...nobody is making him president or VP. |
Typing:I held this view and I agree 100% but over the last few days things have come to light and so i need to qualify my "agreement". It turns out ElRufai was scheming to be vice president under Amaechi. So the whole supporting Tinubu was a calculated move that backfired on him. It just so happenned that it benefitted Tinubu and without Elrufai making that move Tinubu was toast but it wasnt because he supported Tinubu. it turns out 1) ElRufai directed his delegates to vote for Amaechi at the primaries and 2) he delivered Kaduna at the state level but not at the presidential level. APC only got 29% in Kaduna as opposed to 48% in the gubernatorial. Did I say Kaduna delegates voted for Amaechi? So while it is true that ElRufai was instrumental in Tinubu becoming president, he did it for himself not Tinubu, he had to pave the way for a southern president for him to become VP. Finally, I hope people know that it is his fellow Northerners that blocked his ministerial nomination including his own state. Uba Sani has been in the trenches with Tinubu since the nadeco days. ElRufai is a very intelligent man and a trouble maker but, I dont think he has what it takes to pull of a political coup against Tinubu. he rubs people the wrong way. and even amongst northern politicians there are those who dont like his style. I nonetheless respect his intellect and I have said it before, his presence with the opposition is the only thing that can keep Tinubu up at night. The others together dont have what it takes. He will cause trouble but I am not sure he can pull it off. He will likely run his partners up the wrong way in the process with his scheming. The only person that could have engineered a defeat for Tinubu in 2027 is Babangida and he is old and retired. |
Xisnin:What role? There is no role for him in opposition. He is not going to get the presidential ticket with ElRufai, Mohammed and Atiku lurking or VP to Obi that’s an insult! Tinubu is like Trump, he is a deal maker. Ganduje himself knows the deal will be made because he can’t afford for APC not to win. |
donmixc:or possibly 2027 is the year the North is demystified for ever. 1)The idea the North votes as 1 is a myth, when people talk about the North,, what they are really talking about is 1 zone...the NW 2) the North has NEVER, I repeat NEVER won an election on its ownor voted together 3) there will be at least 3 parties again in 2027 4) Tinubu went from 1 state to 6 states to installing president who failed 3 times to becoming president himself against all odds. Those planning against him, the only record they have is to turn an opposition party with 14m votes into a loser against a party with 8m votes. Underestimate him at your peril. Tinubu is here till 2031 and he will choose his succesor! |
clearly the gloves are off |
are they going to release him conditionally, is he going to denounce his struggle because I dont know how you can release him to continue his Biafra agitation and expect insecurity to fall! Clearly this Kalu man has no sense and has reached his peak politically. i dont know how you can want to be president of Nigeria one day and be openly calling for the release of a court certified terrorist! Even Obi that has no sense is careful what he says when it comes to Kanu. |
engineerboat:There are 2 types of candidates 1) people who are familiar to the people e.g Monday 2) people who are installed and hence beholden to godfathers but have no political capital of their own. Rarely do you see a sound candidate who is in touch with the people to be able to contest and win in his own right. If good people stay away from politics but more importantly remain in the cities distant from the grassroots. These are the only people that can emerge! |
fuckJones:Kwakwanso will join Tinubu last last because there is no role for him in any opposition coalition. Any student of Nigerian politics knows that Kano and Borno axis usually never aligned with the mainstream NW controlled Northern political structure. Politically they were never aligned with NPC, NPN or PDP. They usually go their own way! |
engineerboat:Yesterday or the day before I posted that BVAS and EC8 are the only proof of rigging because to me that signaled that PDP have a genuine case and it is something I have said time and time again that the only prooof and evidence of rigging you need or that matters in court are BVAS and EC8. Immediately someone I assume is sympathetic to PDP saw my post as favourable. I made a dispassionate comment like I said I have no skin in the game and don’t care who is governor. Immediately after someone who might be sympathetic to APC posted that although they presented BVAS ‘ in court they made no reference to them in their case. In which case I pointed out that I hope this is not another Obi/Atiku deception where the goal was to fool their supporters into thinking they had a case. Immediately the same PDP guys came after me. Let me stress once again that I have no skin in this game. Let me also stress once again that the only way to prove rigging is the BVAS for over voting and EC8 for altered results. You say they presented and reference these in court, the other guy says they presented but made no reference to them in court (Obi/Atiku style). I dont know which is which and I really do not care. I really don’t think any of them is going to take Edo to the promised land. I believe Ighodalo is an out of touch elitist Uncle Tom in the like of Obaseki who they say has little to show and the other guy is a village eediot style buffooon. I don’t like anything PDP but I also believe Monday is likely to be worse than Adeleke in Osun. I never thought we could have a worse governor till APC put forward Monday! So as a neutral observer, I don’t care which of them become governor. I am just commenting on the court process. My post here was simply procedural so to speak to say that silence and failure to present a witness does not mean guilt. It depends on what what put forward by the plaintiff. The burden of proof is on the plaintiff. If they have done as said and the numbers add up then no judge can find otherwise. However if they simply went to court for show and did not prove rigging or if the rigged numbers were not enough to overturn the result (as in Imo) then the defendants can keep quiet. The point is failure to present a witness does not mean it is a slam dunk for PDP. The defense responds last. If they look at the case presented by the plaintiff, they may decide to rest because in their assessment it is not strong or strong enough or it may be a sign of guilt. One cannot say unless one knows what was presented and referenced by the plaintiffs. Thanks for your perspective anyhow. |
paramakina202:There are comparable because the end game is dead on arrival in both cases. Biafra is also possible, everything is possible but there is a difference between possible and probable…….neither are probable! It is also constitutionally possible for me to create a state out of my street or you to become president because the constitution allows it but it’s never going to happen. |
Badgers14:I am thinking of calling a meeting of my street to lobby for our street to be made a state….comedians! |
Sijo01:I guess they are the only ones smart enough to know the whole thing is a joke and no state will be created anywhere. |
GboyegaD:They are simply telling you in a roundabout way that no state will be created and that any talk of new states is a joke. If they are honest with people and tell them no new states, people will get angry, so they allow all those who wants states to come forward knowing they will fight each other and in the end there will be no new state. |
Amah70:With due respect, whatever issues the ibos are facing in Nigeria today are the result of the past actions of the ibos. 1) Both the North and the west insisted on a referendum and secession clause, it was the ibos that not only rejected it but inserted a clause that made it a treasonable offense 2). It was the ibos that created and handed the present unitary system and power over our destinies to the North We had a system where each region was independent and not under the control of the center, it was the ibos that messed it up. Whatever you see, you see. Nobody has any sympathy for you because whatever you are going through you created with your own hands, on the other hand you truncated our development in the process for nothing we did and we are supposed to sympathize with you? As far as I am concerned the people least qualified to complain about the political structure of the country are the ibos |
Metordman:Look. I don’t know what transpired in court and I don’t need to know. Neither do I care. I am not from Edo, I am not a fan of either of the candidates. I have no skin in the game and do not care who becomes governor of Edo. My comment was in response to the assumption that because INEC or other defendants rested without producing witnesses, they have lost the case. We have been here before. If your case is flimsy, then a defendant has nothing to defend and can rest without calling witnesses. Same happened at the PEPT. My comment is not to suppprt either party. It is just to say a defense will call witnesses based on the strength of your case and May chose not to call any based on the weakness of your case. Note it is not the defenfldant that has to prove but the plaintiff. If the plaintiff has not proved anything in the eyes of the defense, it is the right of the defense to rest his case without calling witnesses. It could also mean he has no case. What I am saying is don’t assume anything because a defense rests without calling any witness. I don’t have to know the facts of the case to say what I said. This is a fact! You seem to know more, so perhaps as you are so knowledgeable you can enlighten us on the evidence provided in court that gives you the 80% certainty you claim? I am almost certain you can’t provide the legal arguments and evidence upon which your 80% confidence is anchored |
Akpakomiza2:You say you were robbed by a woman. You charge me (a man) with stealing your property. You come to court with CCTV showing a woman robbing you. You provide no evidence in court that I was wearing a wig or was dressed as a woman or that I was at the crime scene, no fingerprints, no DNA, nothing. What am I supposed to say in court? I can simply rest my case without saying anything except “not guilty” because you have provided no evidence that I was at the crime scene, caught with the stolen materials or in possesion of a wig or clothes similar to those worn by the woman in the CCTV . There is nothing to defend! The judge can see I am a man and you have provided no evidence despite all the fanfare, CCTV camera, etc etc that I was the one disguised as a woman! |
Oga, this is the same propaganda they propagated during the Obi/Atiku petitions. That APC and INEC closed their cases without witnesses. It turned out Obi and Atiku had no case so nothing to defend. If your case is flimsy, there is nothing to defend. Carrying ballot boxes and BVAS machines to court without referencing how they support your charge of rigging is not a case. I don’t know what transpired in court but a defense teams closes it case without defense, I think you should be worried that your case was probably so flimsy it wasn’t worthy of a defense. |
paramakina202:Ned knows. It is his supporters who think k doesn’t know. He is just stringing his supporters along to gain support. Ned is not stupid. He knows his supporters want a state, he knows it is impossible but if he positions himself as a champion of their cause even if he knows it dead on arrival, he can count on their continued support in the polls. It is no different from Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu deep down knows Biafra is impossible but he makes a name for himself, cements his status amongst his people and made a good living out of it. In this life if you choose not to use your brain and think for yourself, someone else will do your thinking for you whether politician, freedom fighter of pastor! |
paramakina202:Ned knows, you are the one who thinks Ned doesn’t know. You are the one who doesn’t know Ned is just stringing his supporters along to gain support. Ned is not stupid, it is his supporters who are. |
Amah70:Ned Woko and all those distracting their supporters with wild goose chases should focus on good governance within the current structure. I repeat…No new state will be created. You can call me a bastard is ANY new state is created. Anyone with common sense and a knowledge of the constitution as well as the politics of state creation, knows that it is easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than to create a state in Nigeria. It is only the military that can create states in Nigeria. The only time a state (region) was created in a civilian dispensation was when the Midwest region was carved out of the Western region. It was easier then because there were only 2 out of 3 votes needed so the eastern region and the north voted against the western region. The politics also favored the Midwest region as it was in the interest of both Balewa and Zik to weaken Awo and the western region. The middle belt also wanted their own region but it wasn’t in the interest of the North and not in the interest of the east to antagonize the North that was helping them to weaken the west. The only region that supported them was the western region but with only 1 vote, they never got their middle belt region. Point is Midwest region was created because 1) they had the votes and 2) the alignment of the political motivation of the majority vote in this case to weaken their opponent.. This is why I say creation of states is about the constitutional requirements and the politics. Now you need 25 out of 36 state parliaments to vote in your favour as opposed to 2 out of 3 during the creation of mid western state and you have to factor in the political implications. Already 13 core Northern states are against you, so from the start your votes are already in deficit. Of the 23 remaining (south plus middle belt), there are at least 5 or 6 that will not vote in your favour because either 1) they don’t want their own states broken up or to see their FAAc allocation reduced and will not support any new state or 2) they want their own state too and will not vote for another new state unless they get their own. . It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know…It’s never going to happen. |
paramakina202:It’s a fact! |
paramakina202:If they like let them go to 20th reading, no new state will be created in Nigeria. Nigerians should read the constitution and the process for creation of states. We are also not a serious bunch of people, on the one had some are clamoring for restructuring and going back to regional government, on the other hand some want new states. If I were a senator or rep member clamoring for return to regional govt, I will never vote in favour of creating of any new state because it only makes it harder to achieve regional government. Apart from the North, the biggest problem with returning to regional govt is the governors. No governor who is still in his 1st term will support abolishing states in favour of regional government. The more states you create, the more powerful governors you create who won’t support regional government for selfish reasons. Therefore those ideological proponents of return to regionalism (of which there are many in the house and senate) will be opposed to the creation of any new state. |
If that is truly the reason he joined, He had better leave APC now because if Tinubu could not get the North to approve the VAT formula, he will not be able to get them to approve new states. Mind you creating states is harder than amending the tax bill. Personally I think he is just saying that to get his followers to support him in APC. Nobody is creating any new state in Nigeria. Why? Because Ijebu will want their own, southern Kaduna will want their own, Northern Kaduna will oppose breaking up and creation of souther Kaduna and for that reason none will be created. The north will not vote in favour of any new state in the south without at least 1 in the North to balance. Ijebus will not vote in favour of any new state if they don’t get their own. To create 2 states in the south, the North will demand 2. In the end everybody will vote against it. |
Ojuntana:list the infrastructure EDIT: I just realised you are that eeediot from the other day. I should have checked the handle before I replied. Its hard keeping up with all these eeediots on nairaland and unfortunately Nairaland does not have an ignore button. |
Xisnin:where is the infrastructure PDP left for you whether via loans impoverishing or otherwise? The thing with infrastructure is once built, you cant take it away...where is the one PDP built? |

I used to take the Kelvin guy seriously until he started saying things that make it clear to me he has an agenda. For instance he keeps saying warri is not refining because it is not producing PMS. Warri has never claimed to produce PMS. They’ve made it very clear they are only producing Diesel, jet fuel etc for now.” Secondly he keeps mentioning “blending”. 90% of refineries blend because most refineries are not single train. A single train refinery like Dangote is a refinery that produces all its products in one process. Warri, PH and Kaduna are not single train refineries and were never even before they broke down. Any PMS they produced was always via blending. Again 90% of refineries in the world blend. PH refinery can blend and produce PMS because it can source the blending additives from nearby Eleme which is how it can produce PMS. Warri cannot and does not produce PMS only AGO and kerosene etc.

History555:So called educated Nigerians are so ignorant it is sad. 1: If a contract is awarded for 1 trillion for example, it does not mean they have to provide the whole 1 trillion in the budget. If the contract is a 3 yr contract, the allocation in the budget may be yr1: N250b, yr2 N350b, yr3 N400b 2: if a contract is PPP, I.e public sector private partnership (in case you don’t know what PPP means) the only part the govt includes in the budget is its own counterpart funding. So if a contract is N1trillion and the government’s counterpart funding is N250b, all it needs to budget for is N250b. Again depending on the terms of the contract, govt may not even have to budget the whole N250b in yr1. You understand? |
