CSTRR:I told you this before the election and if I recall I told you a few days ago. Popular and electable are 2 different things. Atiku is electable which means with the right circumstances he can be president remote as it may be. Obi is unelectable because there is no circumstance that will result in annObi presidency. You only have to engage your brains and stop thinking emotionally. He may appeal to you, he may be popular amongst the Ibos but as you have seen that is not enough. The people whose votes he needs are the very people who would rather die than vote for him. That is the definition of unelectable….same fate befell Awolowo. |
The same factors that caused their split will emerge in 2027. Atiku wants to run and Obi is unelectable. |
O.5kw? That can’t power 1 AC. Sometimes I wonder why our journalists don’t engage their brains when they are writing their stories. |
chuose2:You people are daft sha! |
Obidients running their mouths without brains will get sense by force! |
hoeminique:it is the island that provides the money. if anything it is a shame it has taken this long to fix ikoyi roads. |
omoOYOauthentic:For what? |
Antoeni:Sowore is actually saying it as it is. Why is Obi begging? If Farotimi is sure of himself and his facts and if Obi truly wants to end corruption shouldn’t he want Farotimi to expose the alleged corruption in court? What exactly is Obi begging for? Is it that Farotimi should apologize or that Babalola to withdraw his case and for a cloud to remain over his name? This is what we say about Obi. Talk is cheap, watch what a man does. He compromised his so called (we all know it’s fake) anti corruption stance because for him it was an opportunity to play politics. The reality is that Obi is part of the corrupt system. |
Sowore is the only credible opposition in Nigeria. They others are opposition simply because they were not invited to the party. |
There are 2 classifications of useless governors in Nigeria. The ones with low IGR that just take VAT and fAAC money and do nothing and those with huge IGR and FASC that don’t know how to develop their states but fly under the radar because they have relatively huge FAAC allocations. You are building homes for navy, no foreign investment because you have more FAAC and VAT than sense. |
I don’t understand…..when did it become the business of a state government to build houses for the navy? |
Never4getU:Is this not the same man that 1) invested state funds in family business? 2) instructed MD of fidelity bank to collect Dasuki gate miney from Diezani? 2) large stash of cash was found in his aide’s boot on his instructions? Why pay a car dealer hundreds of millions in cash? Anambra state no fit do traceable bank transfer? |
Siberia01:What is wrong with Nigerians is they have very very poor English comprehension. As a result you tell them something straightforward 10 times and they still do not understand. Yet they have an opinion on things they don’t understand. There are different petroleum products marketing bodies lifting petrol from Dangote. IPMAN is one of them and it is an association of independent marketers, they are the ones that own small stations. They have 30,000 members. The petrol station you see in the villages that you’ve never heard of with only 1 branch are members of IPMAN! Because they are small they use their umbrella body to negotiate with Dangote. Your MRS, NNPC, Mobil, Total etc are not members of IPMAN. They deal with Dangote seperately. Examples of others are Major Energy Marketers’ Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) Yet another is Petroleum Retails Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PPROOAN). …and so on. Everybody strikes their own deal and when the deal is finalized they begin lifting. For instance last I heard, one of these bodies was unhappy with Portharcourt refinery pricing so they are not lifting. If and when they manage to negotiate an acceptable price, they will start lifting and people like you will ask “how many times will they load?”. You understand now or should we explain this for the 11th time? |
Primeark:Abeg rest! Focus your energies on scolding your principals to be strategic during elections and not to always be driven by ego blind ambition and emotion. How do you as an opposition have 14.7m votes but split your votes so the man with 8.7m wins and it’s INEC you are blaming! Is it INEC that told them to no gree for anybody and leave PDP? |
No doubt those coming for Xmas holidays will bring it. |
I hate reading stories from Nigerian journalists because the information is always confusing. Is this income tax or company tax? Because they are different. Income tax goes to the state, company tax goes to the federal. The story says income tax. |
flokii:He is a foool! |
DeepSight:Refuse to honour a court summons in enugu and think because you are in Lagos Enugu court has no right to issue a bench warrant for your arrest anywhere in Nigeria or that the Nigeria police force will not enforce it. Eeediot!! Buffooooon!!! |
IMPARTIAL:That is exactly what he did but he refused to come to court and even went on social media bragging. So the court issued a bench warrant for his arrest. Afe Babalola did not order his arrest. He merely made a criminal complaint and Dele refused to defend himself in court which left the court no option but to issue a bench warrant. A bench warrant is an order by the court to arrest an accused person who has been served but who fails to appear in court.

Goodnewsforlife:Deji has already written apology and withdrawn his allegations just days after saying he loves jail! The Obidient that libeled Bello ElRufai has apologized but unfortunately the case goes on. By fire by force these Obidient mob will get sense.
|
Just like Pep and Mancity, The demystification of the North is happening right before your eyes. |
I am confused is this part of the 40 states of Biafra declared in Finland the other day and why are they writing to Tinubu. Shouldn’t they be writing to the prime minister of Biafra? |
Mariangeles:They will fall in line and develop their zone if they want free money las las. All those lies and propaganda and threats of 2027 they’ve reduced themselves to, we no send! |
timota:Stop talking out of ignorance. If he had appeared in court when he was summoned he would have been granted bail but instead was granting interviews in Lagos boasting that he would not attend and he waited for the court to issue a bench warrant. Please see what a bench warrant is. No bail for bench warrant.

DrMrsAdeniran:Obidients you mean. Nigerians know he made allegations and he should prove them in court. Watch Jiti Ogunyes brilliant summation on channels tonight. He basically said the arrest and charges are in order and it is up to Dele to prove his allegations. 2 very important points he made: it is up to the person defamed to chose whether he goes the route or civil or criminal defamation and that If you chose civil and during the course of the case, you die, that is the end of the case. However with criminal the case continues even if you die so for a 95yr old man it makes sense to go the criminal route. He gave the example of a civil defamation case by Awolowo against concord newspapers that died as soon as Awolowo died. Which means if you institute a civil case you won’t be able to clear you name if you die in the course of the case. For a 95yr old lawyer who clearly understands the law and the process and determined to preserve his legacy, criminal defamation was the logical recourse. Secondly he said he was shocked that a lawyer would make these sort of weighty allegations and that having done so he must prove as lawyers are trained to be circumspect. Finally he said having made allegations against the Supreme Court, the attorney general of both Lagos and the federation are within their remit to bring seperate charges for defaming the courts. |
MadamVanessa:I personally have nothing against Muslims, we’ve lived together and intermarried amongst them in peace for decades if not centuries. However I’m glad you recognize that because the same thing is occurring in Lagos and the SW. This time the problem is not religion but a particular tribe and a culture intent on conquering and imposing by stealth a way of life totally at odds with that of the hosts. |
DatIgalaDude:Sorry to say, This generation is very stoopid. All you care about is clout and attention. The way you reason is astounding. Did he defame Babalola and the judiciary? Does Afe Babalola have a right to defend his reputation in the twilight of his years? Is defamation a crime in Lagos? If not Is it a crime in Ekiti? Where does Babalola live? Was he charged in Ekiti? Does Ekiti have jurisdiction? Was he served notice by the court in Ekiti? Did he appear in the Ekiti court? Was a bench warrant issued by the court and was he aware? Do the police from Ekiti acting on the bench warrant have a right to come to Lagos to arrest him? Did they manhandle him when they arrested him? Is he entitled to bail having been arrested under a bench warrant? These are some of the questions you should ask instead “ppppularity” Don’t worry he will be popular aand famous worldwide (as if anybody in the world cares but Nigerians) but he will serve his sentence! Nigerian abuse the word “world”. The world has too many problems right now to give 2 hoots about an unwashed Rastafarian lawyer wannabe activist. Nigerians abroad don’t have time either. |
All these unruly endsars and Obidients emptyheads that have been defaming people spreading falsehoods. They are coming after you one by one. The Obidient girl who retweeted falsehoods about ElEufai has just been sued! She was begging, ElRufai told her see you in court! All of you will get sense by fire by force!

gbengene1234:If you went to the right schools you will know people have always played rugby. It’s not a game for community school. |
https://x.com/thetope_ajayi/status/1864676255397707932?s=46&t=zIh8l0Y5x1WkbEiRY9Q56Q “A Nigerian lawyer in the UK, Mr. Lawal was on Morning Brief show on Channels TV earlier today. He made very profound and educative statements on defamation, the difference between civil and criminal defamation. He said a person who feels defamed can decide which course of remedial action to pursue depending on the level of punishment he/she wants to extract. He noted that in Nigeria, many of the so-called 'activists' who claim they are also lawyers don't practice law as a vocation, and therefore, they do not know the law. According to Mr. Lawal defamation cases can be prosecuted anywhere outside the place of origin or where the offense is allegedly committed because of what he called "theory of effect." A book where a person is defamed was written or published in Lagos State. The book published and written in Lagos will be read all over the world. In this wise, the effect of the book can be on someone and a set of people in Ekiti, Kano, Enugu, or London. In the matter between Mr. Farotimi and Chief Afe Babalola, it is not correct to say the author can't be arrested or prosecuted in Ekiti. Afe Babalola, who is a subject of defamation, lives in Ado Ekiti. The effect of the defamation is on him in Ekiti, his family, businesses, associates, and friends all over the world. The point being made here is if you go about defaming people because it is your right to do so, don't cry and play victim when the other person acts in like manner.” https://x.com/cabeecroft23/status/1864599045320396847?s=46&t=zIh8l0Y5x1WkbEiRY9Q56Q “Chief Afe Babalola(SAN) is 95yrs old while Dele Farotimi is 56yrs old. If Chief Afe allows this to slide and he goes to meet his ancestors without clearing his name, he would be remembered for what Dele wrote about him. Dele also properly timed his release to intentionally tarnish the image of the sage making it obvious he wanted to land a heavy blow on the image of the sage before the man leaves us. If this is the last case Chief will fight before leaving this earth, he would pursue it to a logical end. He would most likely throw everything he has in the case. At least he has been able to position the defamation case as being criminal in nature. I hope Dele has enough evidence to backup all those weighty allegations he published and distributed all over the world. If not, the petition written by Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) has been carefully written and each word and their measured impact is very intentional. Man has carefully brought into the light the impact of Dele's actions against the reputation of not only the Justices of the Supreme Court, but the Supreme Court itself.” |
RevFrNoah:Being rebellious or stubborn does not make you upright. You are not upright when you break the law. He said it in an interview, I didn’t become a lawyer to follow the law. |
He will return all the money as damages if found guilty (profits from defamation). |
