I hope this proves what I have always maintained……that it is impossible for you to rig an election in Nigeria now without leaving evidence!! So if you lose and you go to court and lose in court also it is because you never won the election. If you did there will be evidence. You cannot hide evidence under our new system. Anyone who says he was rigged but cannot prove it in court is just a sore loser. |
abobote:I am one of the people whose votes Peter Obi needs to cross the line. It’s a vote he can never get whether Tinubu is contesting or not come rain come sunshine, hell or high water. Put a Chidoka or Umahi, that’s a different matter. |
I have said it many times on Nairaland, if ibos want a president Nigerians can actually vote for they should rally behind people like Chidoka in PDP and Umahi in APC. Obi is unelectable. Whatever party he contests in whether as Vp or presidential candidate. The idea that Obi is one step from presidency is enough for people to vote against whoever is the presidential candidate. The road to an ibo president is difficult, you make the task more difficult by fielding an unelectable candidate. |
Bizaustine:I think you are the one forgetting and who should look at the results again. Atiku did not win a single state in the core North. Not just did he not win in any state, in some Northern states he was humiliated. His average vote in the NW and NE was 27%. It was the SE, the SS and sections of the middle belt that aided him. He only won in 3 middle belt states Plateau, Adamawa and benue and none of them by more than 54%. All the states where he got above 60% were in the south. Furthermore Obi was a relative unknown in 2019. Now the whole country knows exactly what kind of man he is.
|
Tonymec:Understand something, 1). if the north is uncomfortable with Tinubu, trust ,they are even more uncomfortable with Peter Obi. He is the wrong type of ibo man. A Peter Obi as president or Vice President will never fly with the North. 2) Atiku will be 81 in 2027, we know what happened with Yaradua and Jonathan. The North will not make the same mistake again considering point 1) above with a man who can be president for 8 years. |
Why is immigration even descending to answer someone whose handle is “vaginal”? They could have made the public announcement without referencing her post. More training is required in the etiquette of public communication by corporate and govt bodies |
Tonymec:ElRufsi has merited disdain for Obi. He will never be part of anything that is geared towards making Obi president. I cant even imagine Obi and an intellect like ElRufai d having an intellectual conversation ……how? All El Rufai will hear is “….and everything” |
RodgersAkpafu:Imagine a Yoruba man going to NNewi to tell the ibo man which and which ibo man has legitimacy in ibo land. Even if you were not well brought up do you have any sense at all? An ogbomosho man is welcome anywhere in Yoruba land because he knows the culture and traditions and will not talk like you and cause irritation as a guest anywhere in Yoruba land. So are those from other parts of Nigeria who have of culture of respect. In all likely hood you will not know where a fellow Yoruba man is from in Yoruba land just by his behavior because our cultures are similar. Similarly peoples from other respectful tribes will not stand out because they come from a culture of respect and basic human decency. It is always the ibo man that stands out. I remember an ibo girl and I went to visit the mother of a colleague who was Ill at her home, there was a stench in the house likely the dying woman had wet herself and hadn’t been changed and the ibo girl brought out a small air freshener from her bag and started to spray it…..in someone else’s house. No Yoruba girl or girl from any other tribe in Nigeria I know will do that! That’s why you people always stand out! I am done with you. If you like listen and adjust your behavior , if you like don’t. |
RodgersAkpafu:A cof o is not ownership. It is a long lease and it is revocable and one of the grounds is security. So like I said carry on. Nobody sold you land, know the difference. If your land was purchased after 1976, your land is leased, you are merely long term tenants and the way you are going, many of you will find it difficult to renew those leases when they expire.. then you will know who owns the land. |
RodgersAkpafu:Focus on your own land and let the people of Lagos determine who is a foreigner to them. Overpopulation: The time it took to go from LASU to UNILAG to LASU in the ‘80s you will spend just trying to go from Ikoyi to Lekki today. That is simply down to overcrowding. Value clash: An example: we always had environmental sanitation every month. Guess where the immigrant who abused our court system claiming denial of human rights to abolish the Sanitation exercise resulting in floods everywhere today comes from? We never had flooding when we had monthly environmental sanitation. The indigenes that were performing the exercise for decades, you think we didn’t know it impedes our movement or that we had rights? It is always a particular tribe that feel they must impose their ways on their hosts. Many of us have seen the trending podcast and how 3 Ibo hosts tried to gaslight a yoruba host over imposition of Ibo leaders in a yoruba state. Nobody is forming supremacy, if we did we would not open our doors to you in the first place but we will not be gaslighted. All we are saying is you are in our land, respect our ways…simple! After all it’s not like you came here because you like us, you came because your place does not offer opportunities and ours does. People from other tribes coexist peacefully in other people’s land……why is it always and only you? Hausa, Idoma, Edo, itsekiri, Calabar, Bayelsa people no dey Lagos? Finally you clearly do not know the history of Lagos or the difference between the Federal capital of Lagos and Lagos state and its composition and history. Let me educate you: The federal capital was Lagos Island. Apapa, Isola, Ikeja, Epe, ikorodu, Badagry, surulere, Lekki, etc etc etc we’re all part of the western region. All those industrial estates, Apapa, Isolo, Ikeja etc were built by Awo. Ikeja stands for ikorodu and Epe joint administration. They were never federal territories. The Apapa port was under the Western region. Epe, ikorodu, lekki etc are ijebus! My grandfather is from Epe. I am in my land. Even if I am not from Lagos I am in Yoruba land, I know understand and respect Yoruba culture, traditions and respect them. In your ignorance you don’t seem to understand the difference between Lagos the federal territory and Lagos the state. |
Savagethe21st:I am neither an immigrant, illegal, nor do I live in the uk, neither did I disrespect the indigenes when I was there despite being a citizen by birth. The good thing is there is a general awakening and an awareness amongst hosts worldwide whether Europe, USA or Lagos that our hospitality openness has been abused and host communities worldwide are wising up. you cannot open your doors to people who do not have the same values as you particularly with regards to respecting your hosts. The same chaos that caused you to flee your land is what you are bringing to others whether Uk or Lagos.. Fix your country or your zone and you wouldn’t have to become a nuisance to others and when you become a visitor to other peoples homes respect their home. It’s that simple. You wouldn’t take it if strangers come to mess up you land that’s why you protect your land with all you have and keep it homogenous. We are no longer allowing ourselves to be gaslighted with name calling. We are fully aware that you know what you are doing. |
IbeOkehie:I agree with you but I think at this point it is academic. It’s never going to happen. If you observe the resistance over the tax bill, it is clear any restructuring or return to a structure that respects and gives autonomy to the constituent nations is a pipe dream. But who knows Tinubu is restructuring the country by stealth. A lot of the things he is doing: LG autonomy, VAT reforms, etc are actually the end game of restructuring. So maybe he has a plan. Maybe he is tackling the low hanging pg fruits first. The one thing I know is Awo said it from the get go! I said it in a previous post that the way Tinubu is moving I suspect he is not planning for a second term and plans to make structural changes in his first term. He is pressing along wi5 a lot of reforms that the Northern cabal are unhappy with and he doesn’t seem bothered. Having said that there are progressive elements in the North that know the country needs to be restructured.

RodgersAkpafu:Your opinion, you are entitled to it. |
RodgersAkpafu:Who says I apologized? I said it with full chest and I repeated myself in case you weren’t sure. |
RodgersAkpafu:It is always the hosts that feel the damage of uncontrolled immigration. We who know how Lagos was knows it is now a sheet hole, it is tooo crowded. People with different values are taking over our institutions and influencing our people especially our young ones in ways that are alien to our culture. PTA, housing associations market associations etc. I make no apologies for my comment. It is even worse when the immigrants have no regard for your way of life and customs. I make no apologies for my comments, particularly because it is those with no regard for their hosts that are most offended. Those offended by it would not tolerate it where they come from. Unfettered immigration is destroying our societies especially when you have insensitive migrants with no respect for hosts. Anyone who is sincere with himself knows in his heart that for Yorubas in large numbers to start to get annoyed, you know the visitors have overstepped, no different from the sentiment in the Uk. |
Gerrard59:France are on their knees, they a nasty people but they have industries, they have investment funds, they have expertise and we need those. They are also desperate and we are not a colony desperate for independence that will or rather should take bad deals from the French. I assume you meant we “were” better off? |
malali:At least I have clothes. You have no clothes and don’t know you have been naked all the while you were pointing fingers at people with clothes. Village eeediot |
malali:You (foaming in the mouth): She is a second generation immigrant. Feeling smart, presents “evidence” that contradicts your argument. Me: presents superior argument with unimpeachable evidence as someone properly educated does you: quietly drops “2nd generation” doubles down on “immigrant”, presents “evidence” of immigrant status not realizing that again the very “evidence” you present contains a line which nullifies your position. Me: as someone whose education was not bought on the streets and is not only about regurgitating things in exams uses your own evidence to destroy your case You: resorts to name calling in typical brain dead half educated Nigerian lout fashion. Me: I told you not to take me on, Abinibi is different from ability, pedigree is different from certificate! Now I see that you are the thread starter and want to prolong your thread. Good bye. Go to a proper school, mingle with the right people, you will learn proper use of words and learn how to think properly and address other defects in your upbringing and thought process. |
Macphenson:Because the Army are the ones in charge of the operation. It is likely he was there as an undercover reporter in which case once established he will be freed. However this is the complication. If he was there undercover and the illegal bunkerers did not know he was a reporter undercover, they may implicate him. In fact they may implicate him if they discover he was there as an undercover reporter because they may believe he was the one who exposed them. Was he not the one exposing customs? The guy is in trouble o! Even if he is released, He will spend months in guard room on behalf of their fellow service men in Customs. Na him say he wan do undercover for Nigeria. Too much BBC and CNN special report leads to delusions about your career path. Ask Hindeyin how market? |
HgAkpobomeEr:For where? That’s the only thing keeping Atiku alive at his age. Atiku is trying to soften him for VP. You people pray to God for the gift of discernment. |
malali:After all your noise, after all your rabid dog foaming at the mouth attacks, see what you have reduced yourself to? “She said it with her mouth”….that’s now your defense? As if GEJ did not say he had no shoes or OBi he has only 1 watch? It never occurred to you she is playing to the gallery as a politician and the went on a psychological disarming of the British by calling herself an immigrant to soften their reception towards her? It never occurred to you? It never occurred to you the BBC reporter you quoted was misinformed just like you? You should have done what a properly educated person does……verify from the source. In this case the laws of the land and the dictionary. What you did was the equivalent of going to town on beer parkour talk. |
malali:I have told you I am not responding to you but I will this once. 1:we all make errors so for credibility, first admit you were wrong and her parents were not immigrants, therefore she cannot be a 2nd generation immigrant. To show the world you are actually a reasonable person you need to admit you were wrong and not just quietly drop the matter because you were aggressive in your attack on the matter. That was the basis on which you came attacking me like a rabid dog and you have since moved on to she is the immigrant, which again I shall show you are wrong. 2: I never told you that “everybody born in UK is a British citizen.“. So stop inventing things that were not said…or you can pour egg on my face by showing where I said so! 3: as at the time Kemii was born she qualified as British citizen. All Nigerians at the time were British subjects. (This is the second time you have shown you don’t properly read or understand the evidenceyou post). It clearly states in what you posted with your own hands “ One or both parents were British citizens or British subjects at the time of the child’s birth.”This means she came into the world as a British citizen, that was the point at which her status was determined. As such she is not an immigrant. Unless you have evidence to show she became a citizen by naturalization. Otherwise she was born a citizen and a citizen by birth cannot be an immigrant in his country of birth. 4: get it into your thick skull, immigrant status and heritage are 2 different things. If you are born a citizen of a country you are not an immigrant! Why are you so thick? Digest this for as many times as is required for it to sink in: “she came into the world a British citizen”. Stop using your Nigerian brain to interprete an English word into what you think it should mean. The word is an English word, the definition is there to see. End of discussion Have a good day. It has been laid out before you anything else is a waste of my time and You shall be ignored henceforth. |
malali:Every organisation has incompetent people just like you. Like I said the word immigrant is specific and technical. You cannot be an immigrant in your country of Birth. Stop trying to use Nigerian reasoning to interprete legal and technical terms. The word immigrant is precise and specific. I like Keri left the Uk when I was 2 years old, when I returned to the Uk as an adult, despite traveling with a Nigerian passport (with a right of abode). I was actually told I was on the wrong queue and I was to use the queue for citizens. You are not an immigrant in your own country. Heritage is a different matter, immigrant status has a specific and legal definition. They are 2 different things. That is what your thinking in Nigerian but talking in English brain cannot process and separate! Your heritage is determined by your ancestry. Your immigrant/citizenship status is determined by the laws of the country. I will not respond to you or any of your sort on this matter anymore. |
malali:You are stooopid. First you say she is a 2nd generation immigrant, now you say she is an immigrant. Which is which. Since you have quietly dropped the 2nd generation thing I assume you have realized your folly. Now on to her as an immigrant: She is a she is a British citizen by birth. You cannot be an immigrant in your own country. She is not an immigrant full stop. Stop trying to use Nigerian mentality and reasoning to interprete a legal and English word or term. |
malali:I really hate eeediots disturbing my peace. Her parents were not immigrants …that nullifies your entire argument. They never travelled to the Uk on an immigrant visa or settled in the Uk. We know they were not immigrants because her parents were working in Nigeria at the time and after she was born her mother returned to Nigeria and spent at least the next 16 years in Nigeria becoming a professor at Unilag. Read the definition of an immigrant again. Emphasis on “permanently” I don’t mind reading epistles if you have something sensible to say….not to disturb me just to prove you are an eeediot!!! We really have an epidemic of Poor English comprehension in this country!! The problem with you and the likes of those arguing with me is you are products of a degraded education system. You cannot get your heads around the fact that someone of a different heritage is not an immigrant. The reason is like I have said many times, your English comprehension and your thought process is poor. You have spent your lives abusing the English language not truly understanding what some English words really mean.
|
paramakina202:Do you actually understand what you are saying or you just trying hard to sound intelligent? |
Omotaday:Don’t mind them. When they wanted Biafra they had no problem running to France for support. As if France was not after the Oil and as if this was not the era 1960s when France was signing these agreements with Franco phone Africa. God knows what agreement Ojukwu had with the French then because he would have negotiated from a point of weakness. |
paramakina202:There are levels to this thing. Did we not gain independence from colonialists? Did we sign the kind of stooooopid agreements the francophone countries signed? Toh |
Electorate:That is cabbage not gabbage. You see this thing is above your pay grade, your exposure and your station in life. A smart man knows when to quit. You are not fully conversant in English and clearly you are not smart. If you had any sense you would have realized you are dealing with someone far more educated and exposed than you and would not even have quoted me. Instead with every post you expose yourself. |
HgAkpobomeEr:Other European countries will be taking notes. It was covered on Sky news. Germany is watching, Spain is watching, the Netherlands are watching, they know they need to make moves because China and the US are squeezing them economically. Why do you think suddenly Finland is answering us on Ekpa? Kemi will be thinking to herself why did I piss off Nigerians with my comments, we need them. Me that I should have been top of the queue. Nigeria is the beautiful bride for Europe, their economies are shrinking, Trump is coming with tarrifs, they need new frontiers, they need us, better believe it. Obidients have your blood pressure meds close by, more to come!!! |
Electorate:It’s not Gabbage, it is garbage. I stopped there myself. Uneducated foool who has never travelled or been exposed thinks he knows English more than the English because he got a “C” in o levels! |
Electorate:Sometimes it is best to ignore the poorly educated as it is not their fault but the fault of the system that produced them. Like I said most Nigerians speak English but do not understand English. Now they feel they know better than the people who own the country and the language and who invented the word. What you have just displayed is your failure to understand English. I am an advocate for teaching Nigerians in our native language because they embarrass themselves when they speak in English. Because they use their native reasoning to interprete English words. Whereas I have said many times the English language is a very precise language. If you did not leave somewhere to permanently settle elsewhere you are not an immigrant and the owners of the country and language will NEVER refer to you as an immigrant. Kemi was born in England therefore there is no issue of immigration. Your problem is you are thinking in your native language but do not understand English enough to express your thoughts in English. Roots and immigrant are 2 different things. By your uneducated unenlightened reasoning most White English people are immigrants. By your definition Boris Johnson is an immigrant, Prince Charles is an Immigrant. Clearly you don’t know the roots of the British Royal family are are German? You half-educated compound fooool You are clearly not educated enough or exposed to them enough to think in English so you abuse their language. Your limited English vocabulary does not equip you with the words to express your Nigerian thoughts so you end up making a fooool of yourself to the point you are telling the English man what the definition of his own word is. How arrogant is that? Heritage and immigrant status are 2 separate things. It might interest you to know that the English commonly referred to as ango-saxons are German in origin/heritage from the region of saxony in Germany. Stop abusing the English language. Speaking a language for everyday communication requires a low standard but comprehension or understanding a language are 2 different things. If you want to call out someone on his use of English make sure you truly understand English. If your understanding is limited, I suggest you take free online classes in English! When it comes to language you need to understand the culture of the people to truly understand the meaning of some words in that language. Because you can speak it does not mean you are automatically an expert in the language. As we say, Abinibi is different from Ability!
