Politics › Re: Strike: Blackout As Workers Shut Down Power Grid by casualobserver: 2:33pm On Jun 03, 2024
Honestblogger23:
Unfortunately, the nationwide blackout in Nigeria is a direct result of the government's failure to address the demands of the labour unions. The strike highlights the urgent need for a fair and sustainable minimum wage that reflects the economic realities of the country.
Labour is being unreasonable. The GDP per capita of Nigeria is N150k a month. Where in the world does a minimum wage worker earn close to the GDP per capita?

Nigerian workers are lazy, economically unproductive and entitled.

It is universally known that a man shall eat from the sweat of his brow. The economic output of an average worker is only N150k a month, so where is a minimum wage worker coming from?
Politics › Re: STRIKE: Do You Have Light In Your Area? by casualobserver: 1:28pm On Jun 03, 2024
Rikze:
I don't think you have sense. Because if you do, you can't mock Nigerian workers who are living in pain and penury.
1). Nigerian workers are unproductive. The reason they earn so little is because 3,4,5 people are doing the work of 1 person so they share the salary of 1 person. The GDP per capita of Nigeria is approximately N150K a month. This is the average worker not the minimum n wage worker. How can the average worker contribute N150k a month to the economy and the lowest paid. (With a much lower output) expects to be paid anything close?

2: I will reproduce a tweet I saw earlier today. The long and short is look at the federal allocation of most states divide by a minimum wage of even N100k. It will tell you how many workers a state can afford to employ assuming it spend no money on anything else. No roads, no schools, no nothing. It means a state like Oyo with Feb FAAC of N10b can only afford to employ 100,000 workers across all its schools universities, ministries etc etc…assuming all of its workers are minimum wage workers and it does not spend on anything else. if it had 100k workers to start with, at N150k minimum wage it will have to sack 40,000 workers.

Politics › Re: Multinationals Leaving Nigeria Due To Foreign Exchange Woes – Edun by casualobserver: 8:11am On Jun 03, 2024
This is why I don’t understand the obsession with seeking foreign investors up and down.

1) if we get our act together, they will be the ones scrambling to invest in Nigeria.
2) they are fair weather investors, once things are tough they leave
3) they repatriate their profits putting pressure on our forex reserves.

Personally I always celebrate whenever a multinational exits Nigeria especially in the FMCG, pharmaceutical area…..because it just provides a void for Nigerian busineses/business men.

We don’t need foreign investors in FMCG, telecoms, pharmaceutical, oil, electricity, agric. If we cannot build and dominate these sectors on our own then we are not serious as a people.

Thanks for this update. That was helpful.
You are welcome. I just stumbled upon the post where timselectric said he actually had 23.7kw on just one inverter. I had been looking for it and was beginning to think I was going senile because when I checked his build thread his signature said 3 growatts. Clearly the single Growatt was in the early stages.

Read and enjoy! (If you haven’t already)

But it has never happened. Your people right from Awo knew why they were afraid of allowing Biafrans to go. The development will be unmatched and you don't kid me to know better than them. But the truth is that the agitation has refused to go away, let there be referendum today, 99.9% Igbos will be on its actualisation
Don’t drag Awo into this because your forefathers told you lies to hide their shame of defeat in the war. We are not the ones denying you referendum, in fact it was Zik that insisted there should be no referendum when Awo and Sardauna insisted on it but they agreed because they wanted the British to leave quickly.

Referendum is a win win for us. Either you go (we lose nothing) or you stay (you swallow humble pie) either is a win for us…..we don’t care. The whole of SE is just about the size of Oyo state. If it were enough for you, you wouldn’t be fleeing in droves.

Let me also let you know that the real reason why you haven’t been granted a referendum is not because anyone cares if you leave. The real reason is because the North is not United and opening the door to the SE May open the door to minority tribes in the North. The North is fractured and hasn’t been the same because they don’t have a “leader” like they had under Ahmad’s Bello….that’s the real reason there is fear of referendum….that it will lead to balkanization of the North. Trust me nobody cares if you leave, not the North not the Sw and not the SS. Stop giving yourselves more importance than is merited.

I keep saying that I wish a leader will be bold enough to call your bluff, they know it’s a bluff but like I said it’s not you they are worried about. Ask the rest of Nigeria if they care and they will all tell you the same thing. So why haven’t they granted the referendum? …because it’s not losing you they are worried about.

Again I repeat the SE is the most dependent on the rest of Nigeria for its livelihood.

Please let me state this, ibos are our brothers and sisters, that’s how we grew up. I always saw myself as a Nigerian and never about tribe but you guys are overplaying your hand with this tribe thing and it’s getting tiresome. At some point people call your bluff when the noise becomes too much.

I do t know why people are stressing themselves over regional govt. an exercise in futility which amounts to playing to the gallery. It will never see the light of day. The very 1st set of people that will reject it are the SE houses of assembly.

I have always said it if you want to shit down Biafra and secession talks, give them
Referendum. When they realize they are the biggest beneficiaries of Nigeria and those with the most to lose they will borrow themselves brain.

Yeah, about it been the 18A version you may have a point. The current one I got is 22A. I know about the forum. I'm a member for like two years or so. Thanks for the update.
Here is what you are looking for. I get the feeling all Spf5000s can be overpanelled including the 18A but you must perform a firmware upgrade especially on the 18As.

https://www.amosplanet.org/forums/topic/overpaneling-on-spf5000es/

Edit: Also discovered that Timselectric was using the 18a version and his parallel setup simply capped his available amps at 18.2A. So looks likes you can parallel either, the inverter simply won’t draw more than the max (18 or 22). Hence Amos’s comments about waste if you overpanel excessively.

I'm only cautious as when I tried it with Longi 450w with 11.60A Isc it kept shutting down at peak sun hours. It stopped when I removed the parallel.
It could be because you have one of the earlier Growatt with 18a. I think the German guy said something like that on another video. Whatever the case get to your firmware number and ask Amos. It could be you need a firmware update.

I have just sent you a picture with a post from the engineer from Growatt. What else do you want…feel free to ask him directly. This is from the source.

My panel's PV parallel current exceeds 22A, which is the maximum PV input current of Growatt SPD5000ES.

I don't have doubt you can over panel it; maybe with panels that has Isc of less than 11A. Mine is 13.4A
You can safely. There are numerous examples. In fact the growatts are well known for overpanelling. I’ll look for the guy who ran his for months and post. Like I said make use of Amosplanet and ask Amos directly. He is one of the engineers at Growatt China.

I don’t care which tribe you belong. It is neither here nor there and I see no reason why you feel a need to mention it. There are videos all over the internet where Kanu gave orders to kill (including soldiers) and destroy property. If that is not terrorism I do t know what is!

what is the max input current on thhis model be it stc or imp.
I am not sure what the SPF5000 can handle (early models say 18, later models 22) but the SPF6000es which is rated for 16A on each MPPT can handle 60A. This is direct from Growatt engineer. The bottom line with growatts and many (not all) inverters and SCCs is do not exceed VOc under any condition but there is often a lot of wiggle room on current side.

Visit www.amosplanet.Org for more info on Growatts. It is a blog run by a Growatt engineer.
I think two 3.5-4K strings in parallel on an spf5000 is a sweet spot. It should give reasonable to good output in bad weather and will have a broader output curve and won’t waste too much power in sunny weather

Thanks for the reply, but when you said you've done it, thought you exceeded the maximum VoC of your system. In this Growatt scenario, we want to have someone exceed slightly the maximum VoC to see what happens.
Why take the risk exceeding the Voc, when you can just over panel with parallel strings? And have a wider power curve?

Growatt spf5000 are well known to handle overpanelling so long as you don’t exceed the voc. Some guy even had 15kw on his spf5000.

Just overpanel with parallel strings with a lower safer VOC

This guy below had 2x 4k parallel strings on his spf5000, that’s just one example.

Fast forward to May 2024 and my income is still in dollars but now I receive between N1200 and N1500 for my dollar. It also means that in dollar terms the N400,000 ($888) I owe is now only $296. Wheras I needed $888 from my dollar income to pay the debt, now I only need $296 and still have $592 change. Don't play on people's intelligence. Tinumbu had mentioned that old anthem prior to becoming president and now confirming that it's his priority means he pushed for its passage. And knowing how those selfish things at the national assembly work it's obvious Tinumbu wanted passed ASAP.

As for governors and others, there's the exclusive and concurrent lists. Let's hold Tinumbu responsible for the ones on the exclusive list.
Don’t tell me about concurrent and exclusive when you don’t understand separation of powers.

Tinubu did not pass the bill, the National Assembly did. This is governance 101.

Tinubu may have expressed a wish to return to the old anthem but it was not an executive bill….a LP senator from Anambra said this on Arise…..quite frankly I had always said it that the old new anthem does not resonate.

Again go back to study governance 101 and learn what an executive bill is and in fact why it is called “executive”.
