Angelfrost:There are things that the minute you open your mouth, people with pedigree, class and proper upbringing know you come from an environment without class or pedigree. Being poor doesnt mean you dont have good upbringing or class. Class is largely defined by having boundaries of what is or isnt acceptable behaviour. It is important that I state, because many of you do not understand, that position or wealth is not the same as pedigree or class. A man or woman can win the lotto and buy all the trappings of wealth, a man or woman can find themselves in positions of fame fortune or power but they can’t buy class. Class is a state of mind, it is how you think, it is what behaviors, situations and environments you deem beneath you. it is the boundaries and situations you set for yourself that determines and seperates classes of people. What many of you deem to be "class" is actually crass behavior because many of you don't know what having class truly means. That’s why it’s difficult to explain this to many of you and why you will never get it. The mentality and upbringing of a commoner is what is on display by many on my mentions. Someone whose pedigree and upbringing is low can rise to the position of a First Lady. It doesn’t mean she has class. We’ve seen this before in Nigeria. She will behave like a commoner because that is who she is. If you judge class by money or position then you don’t know what class it. I’d you don’t know what it means to have class how can you identify someone who is behaving like a mongrel? Class is not about position or wealth, class is about having boundaries and knowing what is appropriate behavior. you don’t date your friends ex, your brothers ex, same way a woman with class knows having served as First Lady, you cannot be First Lady of another country. First lady ship is not short time and serving who comes next. A First Lady is a public figure for the rest of her life even after leaving office. She is a mother of a nation, she cannot behave anyhow even after leaving office. There was outrage from the American public, the Kennedy family, the Greeks, the Vatican when Jackie Kennedy married Greek magnate Onassis after the assassination of JFK. Onasis wasnt even a head of state and Americans aren’t exactly refined people with class. Even they knew it was an insult to the institution of the 1st lady and what it stands for. But this is Nigeria, your heroes public figures and role models are themselves questionable characters so I am not shocked by the responses. Like I said there is a reason she is the first and the only, even in biblical times there is non on record. People use the word “class” anyhow, usually people without class who have no pedigree or class and hence have never experienced how people with class operate. Again what separates someone with class is not position, materialism or wealth but knowing that because you can doesn’t mean you should. Take that lesson into your lives and don’t throw the word class around until you actually know what having class means! No offense but your last sentence is the biggest telltale sign that someone has no class! That you can doesn’t mean it is the right or appropriate thing to do, again that is what separates those with class from t house without. CC: ademijuwonlo daddyjapan |
ademijuwonlo:Oga this is not about marriage or widowhood, this is about a First Lady. Your father is a man he is also your father and head of your household . As a man he has the right to knack. But as your father he has to consider the impact of his knocking on you his family and children. If your father decides to knack outside and have more children if affects the harmony in your family and possibly his ability to provide for you. The minute he chooses to be your father his actions must always reflect the interests of and impact on you his family. Nobody said don’t knack but knack with responsibility. Nobody forced him to be a father. Nobody forced him to marry your mother. Being a father comes with lifelong responsibilities just like a First Lady. Knowing the difference is the difference between classless and irresponsible or responsible and having class. |
Angelfrost:There is no class in this. Go and ask the Mozambicans how they feel about the wife of their national hero remarrying and becoming the First Lady of another country. Before you glorify the inglorious, how would a Nigerian feel about the wives of Awo, Zik, Balewa or Sardauna if they remarried the president of day Ghana after their deaths? Like I said before there is a reason she is the first and the only. It is not done! |
dangermouse:Didn’t Mandela marry Winnie? Winnie get sense? The man was old having spent all his life in jail. He needed a wife who could operate at his level. She having been the wife of a former president was available. E no pass that. Don’t dramatize and glorify what is not there. If you want to talk about character, I will easily say a former First Lady and mother of a nation has a lot of responsibilities in her shoulder. As a mother of a nation you don’t remarry talk less become a First Lady of another country. Bring a person from Mozambique and ask them how they feel they’re their First Lady not just remarried but remarried someone from another country. There is a reason why she is the only one….it is not done! She isn’t the only First Lady to be widowed! |
We make celebrities of nonentities in this country. I guess it is a reflection of who we are as a people. We are very low level as a people. When I see the low caliber people that occupy the news I cringe. Reno, BLord, one Blessing somebody, Regina Daniel, VDM, Rufai Oseni, Peter Obi, Kperogi, even this hillbilly American trailer park American is now occupying space! These are the people shaping our thoughts? We are going nowhere but down! |
He collected campaign money from Ghadaffi only to plot his assasination later. |
gidgiddy:Oga when you walk your talk, we shall believe you. Nobody forced you into Nigeria infact the north and the west insisted on a secession clause. It was because zik insisted on secession being a treasonable offense that our independence was delayed by 4 years. Everybody else wanted the right to secede. We don’t have it because of you. We had referendum, ironsi removed it. The North was ready to secede after the counter coup of 1966. It was when the British ambassador informed the Northern coupists that "why do you want to secede when Ironsi has given you power over the whole country" that they realised that the kind of power Ironsi had abrogated to the Ibos when he was Head of state that they now stood to inherit that they jettisoned the idea of secession. Whatever problems you find yourselves in Nigeria today are of your own making, due to your lack of foresight, your covetous nature, your desire to dominate others and your inability to see beyond your noses. All the things you claim you want (which I don’t believe because your actions suggest otherwise) you had and you reversed it. Like I said yeye dey smell! Nobody stole your land (you are the ones I. Other people’s land) the Ibos more than any section of this country have always pushed for one Nigeria because 1) they have always known that their land is not sufficient for their population and 2) they have always had this deluded belief that they are destined to lord it over the rest of us. Go and tell your elected representatives to advocate for referendum not stealing more from others. This one Nigeria project has always been an Ibo project from day 1. |
gidgiddy:Unity begger is the one who instead of demanding their elected representatives fight for referendum and right tio secession are busy agitating for more states and how to become indigines in other states. talk is cheap, you know a man's true intention by what he does not what he says. Who removed the referendum? who abolished regional autonomy? After all it was referendum that created mid-west region after independence? oga this gaslighting was for yesterday o! nobody is falling for your emotional black mail. if you want referendum or secession, behave like people who want referendum. You cant be escaping your zone by the busloads, you dont invest in your zone, you troup to other people's zone, you diusguise your names and start to bear non ibo names, you try to claim other people's culture, you are boasting how you own properties in other people's land, how you are present in every corner of the country, your elected representative have never fought or moved a motion for referendum, regional govt or secession, and you think we are fools who can be gaslighted. you say you want Biafra but you are crying for more states. Act like people who want referendum then we will take you seriously otherwise to us you cries of marginalisation or Biafra are just using emotional blackmail to gain more than your fair share of the resources of the country. You gain more from Nigeria than Nigerian gains from you if at all anything we gain except headaches and perpertual friction and conflicts. Prove us wrong and tell your elected members to agitate for referendum resource control Biafra etc then we'll take you seriously. Tell Kalu you did not elect him to ask for states but a referendum, then we'll take you seriously. what are you doing in Lagos and the SW if what you truly want is Biafra? you ocuppy the no4 position in the country, he is chairman of the constitutional reveiw commite, instead of him pushing for referendum or you insisting he does, he is pushing that ibos become indigines of SW. is that what you sent him there to do? is that Biafra agitation? yeye dey smell! |
GeneralOuki:1) we are not the ones stopping you from leaving. we pushed for referendum and secession clause you the ibos are the ones who made sure it wasnt included. Zik was the one who insisted secession must be made a treasonable offense and ironsi was the one who removed referendum. 2) You have rep members, senators and governors. if you truly want to leave not that you are trying to use Biafra as an emotional blackmail tool, how come none of your elective members are pushing for a referendum in the senate or house? There is a constitutional review ongoing chaired by an Ibo man in Kalu, how come instead of pushing for these things you are seeking to claim other people's land in the form of seeking to be indigines of other people's ancestral lands. 3) nobody is stopping you from leaving, table your motion through the proper channels, you may be shocked at the support you will get. what culture? everything about you is stolen from others. you dont even know your history, today you are jews. tommorow you are from Lagos, Benin, Ife, Akwa Ibom, Ghana,. I even heard one of you say they are the original inhabitants of England. all this your gaslighting, we want biafra, we want Biafra, nobody is buying your cries anymore. if you want to secede, you want autonomy, you want true federalsim, go to the national assembly and tell your elected reps to table the motion. if it fails at least we know you are serious. not the one that you will shout Biafra today and tommorow you want more states and want to become indigines of Lagos. those are the actions of emotional blackmailers and gaslighters, the actions of comedians. oh and BTW the reason we dont leave our enclave is because we have everything we need here. A man does not leave his house looking for what is not lost. A man does not leave his home for a place worse than his home. What do you have to offer anyone that he will go there, if your place had anything to offer your people would not be all over the place looking for opportunities. And please dont get it twisted. The SW is better off as an independent country, so also the SS. Your problem (if you are truly serious, which we know you arent) is not us. the problem is the Fulani North and please dont get it twisted, its not because they want you. it is because they fear a balkanization of the North if one section goes. IF the rest of Nigeria most particularly the North could remain one if just the ibos go, i can guarantee you the vote in the North will be 100% their fear is if they allow you to go, the minorities in the North would also want to go...thats their real problem not you....what do you bring to the table? the reason all of you are shouting biafra is because you know your leaders in Zik and Ironsi have made it almost impossible and you know you need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs you. Agitation for Biafra is a negotiating tool that people have seen through and no one is buying anymore. if you are serious make it a condition that your current leaders wont be reelected unless they fight for Biafra in the national assembly. |
Fellow Nigerians, please feel free to attack Reno all you want, in fact i encourage you to take him to the cleaners but please please whatever you do dont put this oyinbo man on a pedestal or elevate him to a status he doesnt deserve. He is here to exploit Nigeria and Nigerians dont turn him into a hero! he doesnt love Nigeria or Nigerians he is here in Nigeria running his own scam under the guise of IDP and we are the ones being scammed! again have a field day with Reno, he deserves it but dont make the mistake of thinking this guy has any good interests in Nigeria. i can guarantee you he is laughing at all of us thinking we are so gullible! |
I was reading with apt interest until he suggested joining the Ibos with others. Nobody, I repeat nobody, wants to be joined with the Ibos. |
xandy84:I say professional because you and I know that Nigerian plumbers mechanics and carpenters etc are quacks, they have no trade certifications like C&G etc, or skills that are transferable. we only manage them here because we have to, even here we prefer tradesmen from Benin republic. |
CSTRR:Like I said you never learn. Obi as deputy to Atiku is not the same as Obi heading a ticket. The majority of Obi’s votes are ibo votes. He has peaked. Unfortunately for you and for him, you don’t dictate to those whose votes you need. As I always say, beauty only matters if the object of your affection sees beauty in you. You can call yourself beautiful till the cows come home, you can’t define what is beautiful to me. Again have a field day arguing, you have plenty of time till 2055 to see the light. Please let me also state there is nothing that says an Ibo must be president. There are more than 400 tribes in Nigeria. If an Ibo never becomes president Heaven will not fall! You are not going to bully, agitate, protest or blackmail your way to the presidency. The presidency of this country is earned! It is a position of trust and goodwill, It is not a right! Is an Ibo man more Nigerian or more entitled to the presidency than the kalabari, ijaw, efik, andoni, anyima, igbira, urhobo, esan or ibibio who are just a few of the tribes from the south but have never led this country? After all you’ve been head of state twice! As far as Atiku, I remember having this dialogue with you and I am sure you are seeing it play out. What I told you then is that it is not in the interest of the true power brokers in the North for Atiku to become president in 2027. You can do a history search and read it again. It is playing out before you. No sitting governor has joined Atiku, in Benue the state of ADC chairman, they are all defecting, in Kaduna of ElRufai they are all defecting. Atiku and Obi commited the biggest political blunder in 2023. It’s over for them politically. Even if they come back together they will lose. Atiku under PDP is different from Atiku in ADC. If you want to know Atiku’s true pull, look at his votes when he contested under ACN. He only got 8% of the votes. His votes in the last 2?elections were PDP votes not Atiku votes. They are not transferable to ADC just like he wasn’t able to transfer them when he ran under ADC! In the history of this country post 1999, substantial organic votes belong only to 4 people, Tinubu, Buhari, Obi and to a lesser extent Kwakwanso. Everybody else it is party votes that is propping you up. I have said it elsewhere on Nairaland Obi has more organic votes than Atiku. You are clearly not a very good reader of Nigerian politics. |
Thunderfayamods:Oga or Madam, no need to get defensive. This is not an argument or an attack on you. It’s an observation. You are an eyewitness to what she told you privately. The news media are eye witnesses to what she told the court. That the taking both together don’t make sense doesn’t mean any of you are lying. It just means her stories don’t add up. It’s not unusual to give 2 different stories to friends and family and to court. You may tell friends and family a lie to hide your shame or you may lie to court to give yourself the best chance of avoiding conviction. Whatever the case the stories don’t add up and again you and ABC are only reporting what you were told. |
CSTRR:After 2031, Yorubas have no business or right to be president till 2071. However I have told you this thing before 2055 is not assured for the ibos if they keep playing the type of politics they play and electing the kind of leaders they elect. If you still insist on this nzogbu nzogbu politics, a Yoruba man can take it from you again in 2055. I am not an advocate of such a move but I am just warning you. 2039 is going to the SS. As for VP the idea of a Yoruba VP in 2031 is ridiculous, anyone suggesting such is either winding you up or delusional. Again I advice you people, get your leadership right. It’s one thing for your turn to come, it’d another for you to be prepared. That it is the turn of the south or the Se does not mean the country will trust the stewardship to a clown. The SE have the worst set of politicians in the country. Sort out the caliber of people you elect to offic3 so that as they rise others will be comfortable electing them as president. Opportunity must go hand in hand with preparedness. The reason why Tinubu will win is largely because when the time for the south came, the rest of the country is not comfortable with the person you have put forward to champion your cause…Obi. You blew the 2023-2031 opportunity because of the person you put forward. In politics your opinion does not matter, what matters are the opinions of the people you need to cross the line of victory. If you like listen, if you like abuse, ignore and continue walking the same path that has brought nothing. You go for an interview, let’s say a visa interview, you queue, when your number is called, it is your right to be seen by the interviewer. The system has done its part by giving you a fair chance to be interviewed. However if on getting to the interview stage, you don’t have the documents required, that’s on you….you went to an interview unprepared…don’t blame the system. Interview over and the guy behind you takes your slot. |
xandy84:We keep telling Nigerians, this japa is not what it is cracked up to be. But for this story, many will not know what many Nigerians go through abroad. I repeat, there are only 3 conditions under which I will advice anyone to japa. 1: You are a citizen and can get a professional job even then don’t spend too long or your mates will soon surpass you 2: the cost of you relocating is less than what it will take for you to start a small business in Nigeria (because for many, the jobs you are going to do abroad are more degrading than the business you feel is too low for you in Nigeria. 3). Deep psychological trauma. |
Thunderfayamods:Oga or Madam abeg please this story is beginning to have different versions, which is which did she have the engine running with the AC on or did she as claimed by ABC have the windows down half way because it doesn’t make sense to have the engine running with AC on and windows open…a thief can easily get into the car and steal it with her kid in it. Why would anyone have the windows half way down if the AC is on and engine running? |
juwoonn:The reason why we are raising irresponsible adults is we over pamper them. What the person you responded described above can happen to an adult. A 9 year old should be intelligent enough to handle being home alone. That said what happened to this 9 yr old is not due to age but the sedative medicine given to her. The windows were wound down half way. She died because she was knocked out. It could have happened to an adult. Like you said a 9yr old is not a baby. Treating them like babies is why they grow up irresponsible adults. |
CoronaVirusPro:I will thank you for wasting my time by blocking you. I warned you! |
CoronaVirusPro:This is the problem with you Nigerians you take advice from fellow ignorant people. I said go and get a car and try it out yourself. The answer he gave you was based on what you told him. I am not sure you even understand what you should ask him. I have told you all cars are designed such that you can open the doors (except the rear door if child lock is activated) from the inside whether the key is present or not. It is a global standard safety design feature. You want to keep intruders out of your car not trapped inside. So cars are designed so you can always get out. In fact some cars are designed so you can escape if locked in the boot. You clearly dont have a car like I said or you won’t be asking someone. Go and find yourself a car and try it and please don’t respond to me wasting my time until you have. I don’t care what your friend Jelili said, this has nothing to do with child lock or no child lock. All car doors can be opened from the inside without the presence of the key fob. If the child lock is activated the rear doors won’t open but the front doors will. I repeat Don’t respond to me until you have physically verified tried it yourself. I am not interested in what Jelili told you! Sometimes you people don’t think well. What if the battery of the key fob dies while you are in the car and the doors are locked are you saying you can’t open the car? This is the problem with NIgerians our thought process is just wrong and devoid of critical thinking and logic.

pocohantas:She had done it 4 times. She couldn’t afford daycare and was being helped financially by coworkers. |
Ishilove:It appears the real problem was she gave her some medicine to help the child sleep which ultimately incapacitated the child. “ GALENA PARK, Texas -- A mother was charged with felony murder after her 9-year-old daughter was left in a hot car in July in Texas. She was arrested on Friday, according to law enforcement. Court documents said 36-year-old Gbemisola Akayinode admitted to law enforcement that she left her child in her car while she went to work in Galena Park, Texas. It happened in the gated employee parking lot of USG, a large manufacturer of industrial and building products. The mother said she lowered the back windows halfway and left her daughter with food, a fan, water and ice cubes, and gave her melatonin to help her sleep. Court records showed that Akayinode told investigators she stayed inside the office and did not check on her daughter until after her eight-hour shift was over, because she was too busy. When she left work, she found the child unresponsive and screamed for help. Her daughter was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. According to court documents, the medical examiner's office found the young girl's body temperature was 108 degrees. They said her cause of death was hyperthermia. Court documents revealed Akayinode admitted it wasn't the first time she left her daughter alone in the car while she went to work. According to court documents, she did it the day before and admitted to a total of about four times. She claimed she couldn't pay for day care until she received her paycheck. However, court documents said a coworker claimed he was helping her with money because he knew she was struggling to make ends meet. Investigators asked Akayinode if she had checked the weather or if she knew how hot it was going to be outside. According to court documents, she said she didn't and that it slipped her mind. ” |
CoronaVirusPro:You don’t need the key fob to open the door using the buttons inside the car! I said go and try it before you respond to me again. Let me explain something to you. No car will pass certification if you cannot open the car from inside without the key or key fob. It is considered a safety hazard. You won’t be able to open from outside without the key but you MUST be able to open from inside or else the Car will NOT be approved for sale to the public. Like I can if you don’t have a car borrow your friends car and experiment. |
aywagze:The problem wasn’t that the child was left unsupervised. I was shocked myself because a 9 yr old should be able to get out. It turns out it was the medication that was administered to the child that sedated the child. Not that I recommend it but the issue wasn’t leaving a 9yr old child in the car. The issue was the child was medicated and sedated. |
CoronaVirusPro:Do you actually have a car? I suggest you borrow someone’s car and try before you respond. |
DaddyJapan:Ahh ok I missed that bit! |
CoronaVirusPro:Jesus wept! I said u lock the car via the central lock button and exit via the front door! Why is English such a problem for Nigerians? |
CoronaVirusPro:Do you people think? Nobody is asking the child to undo the child lock. I am saying the central lock unlock bottom is inside the car. Press it and exit via the front door. How dull is a 9yr old to not know that? Or going by some responses some adults! |
