Did this guy go to school? He can’t even spell weak. He did it twice so not a mistake. |
ascendo:Wole Soyinka professor and Nobel prize winner does not have a PhD. |
ariesbull:Your problem is you are being emotional. Academics do not deal in emotion. What does my qualifications mean to you? Does my saying I have a PhD (I haven’t said so) make a lie a truth or make anything I have posted any more credible? This is the problem with you people. Your obsession with the irrelevance of my academic qualifications shows you suffer for the poverty of mind of many Africans who are seduced by titles and certificates. Which is why you find it hard to believe that a professor from a lowly ranked university in America is mediocre. Question the validity of what I have posted and stop being obsessed with certificates and titles. By the way Wole Soyinka never had a PhD. I challenged you to show where your professor is cited and regarded by his peers internationally. You can start with conferences, citations or peer reviews from the American press institute or American institute of journalism after all that’s where he works? If you can’t please don’t reply me and let the matter die. I have given enough time to the subject. |
Sheggy13:My academic qualifications are irrelevant. This is the internet I can say anything. Judge what I say by the substance of what I post. Is what I am saying right or not, on the internet that is what matters. Kperogi is a mediocre in the eyes of those who understand what standards are. You are free to believe what you want. Pick any name of the list of professors I gave earlier. I will give you a detailed cv of his reach internationally. I will find academics from the top universities who have referenced his publications in their papers. That’s how you know people of caliber. I am sorry your opinion doesn’t matter. Facts don’t lie Pick up my challenge and browse the internet and give academic papers, conference papers, research papers from reputable professors and academics ABROAD that have cited Kperogi. That’s the ultimate measure of your caliber or mediocrity in academia. Your opinion is no different from mine or that or an okada rider, it’s irrelevant. What makes the opinion valid is the ability to back it up with facts. What is relevant is being able to show, this academic from this reputable university cites Kperogi as his source. You will struggle. And that’s how you know a mediocre academic. The truth doesn’t care what “you stand for” especially if you can’t back it up. You are professor who presents a paper at an international conferences of the worlds best in your field in a reputable elite university or environment is not the same as a professor who presents a paper at a conference in ladoke Akintola university where your audience and peer reviews are local equally mediocre academics. |
BrightFuture48:We’ve always been saying the same thing in a way, you just suddenly realized it. To start with I was never interested in nor did I make any comment on the substance of his article. It seems it took you a while to realize that. Now it seems you’ve finally realized that he is only rated in Nigeria, which is what I had been saying from the start. That you are a one eyed man amongst the blind does not mean you aren’t visually impaired. You still have only one eye, which means you don’t see well. You don’t have full sight and that has been my point abinitio. Because I have 2 eyes, I can’t be led by a man with 1 eye so to me he will always be a defective man. To those who have no eyes they are free to make him their leader but they should also note that by having only one eye, he is also visually impaired just not as visually impaired as the blind and so he could lead them astray. That’s my point. |
Nwaikpe:When people complain, you point them in the right direction, they refuse to go and look. It is clear they just want to complain. I am talking about research funded by federal and international agencies, including UN, World bank and carried out by professors. But clearly you prefer to remain unknowledgeable because it suits your agenda. Nothing concern me, I am not from Anambra. I just happened to be secondary school friends with the son of one of the many professors who have carried out well funded research on the subject so I know. If I tell you nigerian professors used to get local and foreign research grants running into $1m in those days you may be shocked. Carry on as you are! |
Tjra:With due respect that is why I say that celebrating a governor because he doesn’t borrow is borne out of ignorance. All Nigerian states are so challenged they can’t afford to not borrow. IGR should be spent on obpverheads and servicing infrastructure and developmental loans not capital expenditure. You will never have enough money to finance infrastructure via IGR. Capital expenditure especially critical long term ones should be financed by borrowing and serviced with IGR. You have to borrow and commit a portion of IGR as debt service for each project. That way you can finance multiple infrastructure project at once. You don’t take 10b IGR increase and use it to build one road, you use it to repay the loans to build 10 roads at once. |
BrightFuture48:So long as you accept that it is in Nigeria where he standards have fallen, where people like Rufai parade themselves as journalists that Kperogi is a leading light, then we are on the same page. My standards are the standards set when I was growing up by some of the professors I listed above, not the standards of today which I guess are your standards. A man like Kperogi would never get beyond senior lecturer in the Nigerian universities of old….such were the standards. And by the way, you become senior lecturer as a matter of length of service not brilliance. The professors I listed above taught only in the elite universities abroad. In those days Nigeria recruited only from he elite universities like Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, mit, Yale, LSE etc. you will not get a job as a lecturer in ABu, UI, Ife, Unilag with a degree from anything other than an Ivy League university. In fact you were better of graduating from UI, Unilag ABU, Ife etc than graduating from a 2nd tier university abroad. That was those days! Many of them are dead or retired now. |
Nwaikpe:I know for a fact that they did. Just Google “Anambra erosion research”. You will be amazed how much research was done by our universities. |
erico2k2:Tell that story for the gods to the visa desk. We know our people. |
BrightFuture48:Amongst which peers? That’s the issue! Which peer rates a professor in a 3rd or 4th rate university rate? If he were a leading light he would not be teaching at Kennesaw state university. None of the professors in Nigerians leading universities plied their trade in 2nd or 3rd rate universities. Even when things got hard and some went abroad they were employed by the Harvard’s, Columbia’s Oxford and Cambridges of this world. You need to understand or theythat in academia your CV is everything. Once you taint it with Kennesaw state university, nobody reckons with you. He may be a force in Nigeria as per country of the blind but not internationally, not even in America where he teaches, else he would have moved to a better university or they would have head hunted him Kperogi is like the japa who cleans toilets abroad then comes back to spend pounds at Xmas and people think he is a big guy abroad and doing well. |
erico2k2:No they ask you to send or cut your old license. I renewe by license online from Nigeria. So I still have the old one. Yes I am supposed to cut it and send it back but we NIgerians never follow the law do we? That’s why Britain is going to the dogs, the more of us (and others) they allow in. Luckily I am home and still have the letter |
erico2k2:As you please. |
nairavsdollars:My dear increased income is exactly why you can afford and must take loans. The old is not waiting for you to save to build infrastructure. Lagos with the highest revenue is the seE with the highest loans…..where does everyone rush to? Lagos! Do you think it is IGR they used to build rail line? You simply leverage your increased IGR to accelerate growth by taking loans, the loans will be serviced by the IGR. If a road costs 10b today and you don’t build it today, in 5 years that road may cost 20-30b. However if you borrow to build the road now, in 5 years you are paying interest based on 10b loan not 20-30b road. That’s why you borrow. Think of it this way you save to build a house maybe in 10years you finally complete the house because as you are building material become more expensive every year. So you stress yourself sacrifice and you only start getting the rewards in 10 years. Meanwhile someone borrows to build and after 1 yrs the house is completed. After year 1 he starts collecting rent and the rent services the loan. By year 6 his house is paid off. He starts getting the benefits 4 years before you. Meanwhile his house cost less to build than you because he borrowed and used increased IGR (rent) to pay off the loan. I hope you get it. |
erico2k2:I am a UK citizen born, not naturalized. I do t need a visa to most countries. |
BrightFuture48:You asked for 2. Professor Taslim Elias law Professor Wole Soyinka arts Professor JF Ade Ajayi history Professor Akinjogbin. history Professor Animalu, Ezeilo Professor Adegoke geology Professor Fafunwa Education Professor Mabogunje geography Professor iya abubakar maths Professor Biobaku history Professor Sam Aluko economics Professor oliwasanmi agric Professor Kasunmu law Professor onwunmechili physics Professor olubumo Professor Tejumola Professor Ishaya Audu medicine There are many more Nigerian professors acclaimed all over the world in the academic community. The true test at an academic is your contribution to new knowledge in that field.. Anybody can teach what is already known. Your respect within the academic community is founded on your contribution to new knowledge..hence research It is your pioneering work in that field that turns you into a source of reference and citations. not by writing yeye articles. There is no university in the world where these men listed above are not recognized and referenced as leading lights in their fields. Who references Kperogi? I can guarantee you just by the pedigree of his university alone that no one knows who korerofi is outside Nigeria even in his own field. If he was a leading light in his field he would not be teaching at kennesaw state university. He is there because that is the university that will employ him. Columbia, Yale, Harvard, Oxford, MIT, LSE etc have liberal arts departments. Nigerians teach and have taught in these universities, why is teaching he in a 3rd or 4th rate university? You are likely a product of the Nigerian educational system post Babangida era and people like you don’t know the difference. I can guarantee you that if any of those professors gave you a letter of recommendation to any top university in the world, you will be admitted such is their status. Kperugi’s name means nothing except in Nigeria. The anigerian professors abroad who are rated amongst their peers don’t have time to interfere with what’s going on in Nigeria. Kperogi needs Nigeria to be relevant because he is not rated amongst his peers abroad.

crusufixo:One of the consequences of japa is that low earning immigrants tend to live in disadvantaged areas amongst people that in Nigeria you would never interact with. If you are a care worker, security guard cab driver etc, you are a low income earner despite what it looks like when converted to Naira and you won’t have time to watch over your family. It is even worse if you have to take 2 jobs to survive or work shifts. Their children go to poor state schools and mix with children of much lower social class from the projects and the ghetto and join their gangs. These are some of the hidden nuances of japa they don’t tell you |
There are certain public figures that IMHO have very little credibility and integrity. Even when they are on your side don’t get carried away just be glad they aren’t attacking you because they are ferocious attack dogs. Reno, FFK, Sowore, ElRifai, Bwala…. Yes it better to have them on your side than against you and they are intelligent men perhaps with the exception of Bwala who to me is just of average intellect but I have no delusions as to the integrity of any of them. They use their intelligence for self serving purpose rather than principled advocacy. |
The problem I have with people like Koerogi is that mediocrity has taken over our public space. Draftsmen parade themselves as Architects. Quacks hold the title of professor. Someone tell me his contribution to scholarly work in his field! In my time Nigerian professors were globally recognized authorities in their field. Go and verify, in my time a lecturer or professor from the 3rd rate American university where he teaches would never be employed in a Nigerian university. Go and verify! |
Abdul05:You haven’t identified the real root. A movement based on falsehood and propaganda cannot sustain itself or endure because you can only fool people for so long. Obidient movement became toxic because there was no truth behind it. It relies on gaslighting abuse and bullying. Let’s look at it, the so called “new nigeria is possible”. Have they not returned to their home the structure of criminality in ADC? |
24 ke? It’s like she married like 10yrs ago |
Richtaiwo:He may get some votes but the overwhelming majority of Ibos will not vote for a yoruba man…impossible! It’s ingrained in their DNA. The real issue is the psychological damage to Obi and his negotiating leverage within ADC. Those who were courting him within ADC will be empowered to cal his bluff. Also note, his Obidient movement especially outside the SE is crumbling by the day. See below. This is just one of many and the withdrawals seem to be accelerating by the week. Like I had said years ago, the biggest mistake Obi made was his constant need to court the headlines. The more he talks the more people see through him! People are now finally seeing that Obi and his Obidient movement is toxic.

We don’t appreciate your many scandals and your inability to behave like a respectable African mother. |
what manner of keeper is this? |
AK481:I don’t know your level of schooling but it is not hard to guess. There is a concept called vicarious liability. You are responsible for the action of those under you. Particularly when you give orders to kill, burn etc. You see this terrorism thing of a thing, it’s like coup plotting. It’s high risk, high reward. If you succeed you become leader of a nation, if you fail or they catch you, normally na death penalty! The Vatsa that got pardoned yesterday, na coup them say he plan. Them execute am first before them pardon am. If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime! That someone else got away with it does not mean you will. You came to this world alone, will answer for your acts on earth alone and will die alone! Listen to Kanu give instructions to kill and burn:
|
AK481:Did they kill anybody? Did they burn down any buildings? Do you know that the governor of Oyo state seized a building that belonged to one of them and leveled it as a deterrent to to others? Did you see any Yorubas supporting Igboho? Do you see any northerners supporting Shelau? In any event Kanu is not under trial for secession, he is under trial for terrorism. Know the difference! |
…
|
Putindbutt:Ibos will never vote for him and sowore himself doesn’t want to be president. He contests as part of a strategy to remain in the headlines. Let me make it clear as a yoruba Christian. If Tinubu releases Kanu, he is setting a bad precedent and I will not vote for him! |
Toruibestate:if you raise your daughter well she knows she is beautiful (if she is) and doesnt need a crown for validation. plus respectable men dont marry beauty queens. Then again you probably dont know what constitutes a respectable man so you will probably give me an example of someone famous or rich but like i said you dont know what constitutes a respectable man. famous does not make you a respectable man. |
