You know. It is just a way of gagging the press. They will settle and no TV station will allow anyone to say anything defamatory against him even if true.
Politics › Re: Tonye Cole Demands ₦20 Billion, Public Apology Over Wike’s Remark by casualobserver: 4:40pm On Oct 16, 2025
Interestingly he didn’t mention the part where Wike said in the same interview that he called Wike to see if they could work together after Fubara was suspended and that he has no loyalty to Amaechi.

Are we to assume at least that part is true?

You must be a joker if you think by obi disassociating himself from nmk he will automatically be allowed to get the presidency on a platter if that's the case igbo politicians like joe igbokwe, rochas, umahi and others who has been working against nmk freedom and igbo political interests would have long been rewarded with the presidency.
If the leadership is not blessed with intelligence, it should not be expected to be seen in the followers. Hence your post is excused for lacking in the subject matter of intelligence.
Politics › Re: There Was No Need To Arrest Mazi Nnamdi Kanu In The First Place.” – Obi by casualobserver:
WizardOfNG:
Indeed. I don't think Obi, because of lack of intelligence, has the capacity to think rationally before he rushes to say whatever come to his mind which often betrays his warped and highly flawed character.

Some things he says I'd expect from some Nairalanders who are touts and will likely never amount to anything in life. Not a politician who wants to be the President of the biggest black nation on Earth.
Even his visit to trade fair and meddling in matters that have an ethnic coloration should be avoided by a man who wants to be president of a multi ethnic country. Okay your Ibo brothers will support you but their votes are not enough and you alienate those whose votes you need.

Personally I have always felt (and said as much on Nairaland) that Atiku dumped him because he added no value to the PDP ticket in 2019. PDP actually got less votes in the SE than in 2015. Ofcourse Atiku did not factor that Obi would leave the party. The point though is that the Ibos have no one else to vote for so he doesn’t have to pander to them at the expense of alienating other voters. They will vote for him whether he appears at trade fair or not because they are not voting for the man Obi, they are voting for the Ibo in the man. So their vote is secure! Unfortunately for him he is not intelligent enough to figure that out and as a consequence each time he betrays his inner self and loses supporters.

Sometimes it's wise to just parry some questions or at best, deflect.
This is one of those.
He hasn’t got the intelligence. To start with if he had kept quiet for the last 2 years he would be more popular than now. An aura of mystery would surround him. His reputation would be enhanced and many would believe he is indeed the solution to our problems. But he felt grabbing the headlines would make him more popular but instead it has opened the eyes of many of his supporters to the true nature of the man. Just read the coment in the Twitter post. There are many like that.

If they explain Nigeria to you and you understand..you haven't gotten the true gist.
A govt that churns out unfavorable policies like it's Christmas candy. Extremely unfriendly business climate.
The article clearly stated they were thinking.. nothing concrete..
You think Multinationals take your emotions seriously.. they look and forecast. Waiting till 2027 helps them .if a new Govt enters or it's gonna be Extended Hopelessness 3.0
Oga stop being so negative. Even if it’s not concrete, people that were not thinking before are now thinking. Shell just confirmed $2b invested yesterday. Qatar just announced $300b investment commitment in Nigeria over the next 10yrs.

For Gods sake you can criticize the govt and acknowledge the gains. Not every time politics. At the end of the day, whether you support Tinubu or Obi, they will come and go and Nigeria will remain. It’s Nigerians That will enjoy or suffer whether or not investors come to Nigeria or not. Celebrate any investment irrespective of who is in power because the investors don’t ask who you support when they create the jobs.

What’s wrong with you people?

This is not the job of a government, it's meant for private investors...
Don’t believe western propaganda. There are some industries that can only be established by government. Once up and running you can then sell a partial stake or fully divest. If you are waiting for private capital in an environment of 30% interest. rates your people will be unemployed.

Just so you know even Trump from the land of capitalism has been taking stakes in strategic private companies like Intel. They bought stakes in GM during the financial crisis to preserve jobs. The UK govt bought stakes including controlling stakes in many banks to save them and the jobs.

We just follow western propaganda like Mimi and all our industries and jobs collapse.

Government cannot run companies but sometimes govt needs to establish the companies. British rail, British airways, British telecom, O2 mobile British Rail etc etc were all set up with taxpayers money.

Politics › Re: Peter Obi Dismisses Fears Of Nigeria Becoming A One-party State by casualobserver: 8:11am On Oct 16, 2025
shortgun:
Peter Obi has said it all.
Obi’s point strikes at the heart of Nigeria’s political reality. In a complex nation like ours, the mass defection of politicians to the ruling party will not guarantees public support. Nigerians have become wiser.
They now judge leaders not by the colour of their party flags but by the content of their character and the impact of their actions.

In today’s Nigeria, the people’s allegiance is shifting from parties to principles. Voters are watching, questioning and demanding good governance
.
. He is right so do not complain when he loses.

Where he is miscalculating though (and this is a mistake city dwelling political neophytes make) is that the majority of Nigerian voters are not enlightened. They don’t watch Arise TV, read Twitter or Nairaland. They vote based on local community political mobilizers and this is where structure and who is governor and haas the purse to mobilize matters. This is why you can’t win elections without governors.

I read an account of the APC primaries recently. Supposedly, during the presidential primaries, Osinbajo and Amaechi were busy wooing the delegates individually and were feeling confident. Tinubu simply went straight to the governors who control the delegates. As they say they didn’t born any delegate well to defy the governors instructions after all who made you a delegate if not kthe governor? I know delegates are different from Election Day voters but it tells you the power of structure and the power of governors. In a country where the majority are poor and rural eS and practice a culture of reverence to leaders, governors will determine who wins elections irrespective of a maximum 20% of the electorate who think and vote independently.

I am glad I am on record. So at least people know some of us can support a candidate and be objective and see B S for what it is.

That said this man himself is not clean. He is clearly also a paid hack. The same way I could see through Reno, I can see through this guy! More on that later. But let me just say this Nigeria has not been an attractive place for Americans and Western Europeans for a long time. The legitimate “white men” who come to Nigeria in the last 3 decades or so tend to come from the “2nd tier” countries China, South Africa, India, Eastern Europe, Lebanon etc. when you see an American in Nigeria who isn’t a diplomat and has frequented Nigeria like this man especially under the guise of NGO or Aid worker, they are spies, paid agents or here as a front for a scam in collusion with Nigerians like the PI&d guy. Reno got played by a bigger scammer. I have no doubt this guy is an agent of the US govt, CIA operative or some ulterior IS interest long planted in Nigeria under the guise of building IDP camps. I suspect he is one of those planted by Obama or the CIA to destabilize the country which is why he was quick to blame Obama for boko Haram on Tv to deflect. No American would do that on TV in Nigeria and I thought it strange at the time. Which is why I am 100% convinced he is a CIA agent planted in Nigeria under the guise of building IDPs

casualobserver:
There are certain public figures that IMHO have very little credibility and integrity. Even when they are on your side don’t get carried away just be glad they aren’t attacking you because they are ferocious attack dogs.

Reno, FFK, Sowore, ElRifai, Bwala…. Yes it better to have them on your side than against you and they are intelligent men perhaps with the exception of Bwala who to me is just of average intellect but I have no delusions as to the integrity of any of them. They use their intelligence for self serving purpose rather than principled advocacy.
I repeat! This guy is not clean! Not all your enemies’ enemies are your friends. Don’t get carried away! Like I didn’t get carried away because Reno has been attacking Obi, don’t get carried away because this American is attacking Reno. He has an ulterior motive.

The attack on agbo is a diversion from the business of fake drugs in Onitsha which has been a problem since independence ans evidenced by the debate ant the federal parliament in 1965 below and has now reached epidemic proportions.

This is why they banned history. So the new generation don’t know all the things happening are not new and the actors are the same.

Is there a problem with agbo yes but a bigger problem is the proliferation of fake medicines by the usual peddlers of fake everything.

i cant see who or the post that started this thread cos its someone i have blocked but i am not shocked because this is the kind of low level reasoning and nonsense posts that get people like him blocked.

there are over 40 political parties in Nigeria, it is not the responsibility of APC or Tinubu to sort them out the problems of opposition parties. Neither is he under any obligation to deny defectors.

Peter Mba just defected, he is taking a big risjk because his constituency are arch enemies of the president and APC so why would he jeorpardize his career by defecting? He is a sitting governor who enjoys immunity, he controls the state purse, he has a second term to consider and he will comfortably win in PDP...so why is he defecting?

I have said it before that the sooner the opposition supporters start to hold their leaders for their failures the sooner the opposition will get its act together but so long as they lazily continue to blame the APC or the president, the longer the rot continues.

PDP, LP ADC etc have no incentive to get their act together when their supporters continue to blame others for their failures instead of the leadership of these parties.

Again there is nothing like a one party state, if the other parties are getting weak by the day, you should look inwards and take responsibility for not holding your leaders in opposition to account for the way they managed their parties, their inability to settle squabbles, their selfishness etc.

you have tenants, you and your wife are always arguing all night disturbing the tenants, the tenants one by one cancel their lease and take up tenancy with your neighbour. Instead of the children to tell the parents to please settle the causes of your constant fights, you the children are blaming your neighbour for taking your tenants saying he wants to be the only landlord. is the landlord supposed to say no to new tenants? is it his business to settle fights with your wife? the parents will continue to fight because they havent been shamed by being called to order by their children telling them to behave like adults so they dont see anything wrong with what they are doing to the family.

at some point responsible children have to say Daddy, Mummy stop the fights, get your act together, you are chasing the tenants away! for so long as the children blame the neighbour, the parents will not be shocked to act and do the right thing. The children are enabling the acts of the parents by blaming the neighbour.

some people just like to propagate negativity. As at the time the figure for |Nigeria was calculated Naira was N1650 to $1, today it is n1450. projected GDP growth for next year is 4% so expect next year's GDP to be at least $300b. this is the flaw in calculating your GDp in a currency other than your own and why GDP PPP is a better reflection of the true state of an economy.

for all those who delight is spreading doom, understand one thing: Tinubu is your president till 2031 so the sooner you start to see good in your country the better.
