Toruibestate:people with culture and values dont parade their ladies semi naked for grown men to gaze and judge. I am not a fulani, muslim or a northerner but any objective person knows they have the most beautiful women in Nigeria BY A COUNTRY MILE! beauty contests are for people from dysfunctional homes with low self esteem to who need validation. NO well grounded father even from the south will sanction his daughter contesting a beauty competition. |
na rest of the world destroy israel and palestine? how about tyou help Africa rebuild from the terrorism you exported to our shores as a result of your invasions of IRAQ and Libya? No boko haram before Iraq invasion , no AK47 carrying herdsmen before Libyan invasion. nonsense people! |
DrMB:oga focus on your state and what your state governors are doing and mind your business. |
Prince16:My brother, have a field day, me i no send them In fact you can even tell them that it was their grandfather Azikwe that connived with the North to remove kwara from the western region. So they. Should live with the consequences of their own actions. |
Afrobasic:Ibos are the biggest beneficiaries of Nigeria. You likely dont have what it takes to understand and i dont have the time to the inclination to engage you any further. Whatever problems they have are not unque to them. whatever political problems they have are entirely of their own making! But you are most welcome to swallow the propaganda and be gaslighted if actually you are a non Ibo not an Ibo under disguise as is their modus operandi for gaslighting nowadays! good day! |
mcquin:if you wanted to "move on" you wouldnt have quoted me i have already said (right from my first post) that if you said Tinubu owes Nigeria an apology, i will agree with you but he does not owe Jonathan any apology for not having the courage to push through a policy he knew was right. Politicians will play politics, All the opposition politicans criticizing the removal of fuel and forex subsidies are not going to reverse if if they win! Tinubu is not responsible for Jonathan's weakness! A president is not elected to be a nice guy but to make the tough but correct decisions! I would have thought that contained and implied in "if you said Tinubu owes Nigeria an apology, i will agree with you" is that Tinubu played politics with the subsidy removal. I have already said if you rephrased it and said he owes Nigeria an apology i would agree. the fact still remains that Jonathan was weak! nobody owes him an apology, if anything he also owes us an apology for not doing the right thing 13 years ago! |
Afrobasic:your attempts at gaslighting has failed before it took off. It matters because your actions then are still your actions now. For example, you are the only people in 2023 who voted 90% for their kinsman and you want to tell us Bringing up 1960 is insane? Even the North did not do that! When your actions start to deviate from your past actions then what happened in 1960 will be the past! until then! Aja nwachukwu was the minister for education then. guess what? It was his son as minister for education under yaradua that removed history from our curriculum. The history you dont want people to know we shall tell! |
Chucks13:people that when they controlled the government in the 1960s awarded 11 of of 22 schorlarships from germany meant for the whole country to their kinsmen from the east....not just from the eastern region as it was then but from his village. The same people that out of 608 federal schorlarships awarded 387 to their region, the same people that installed their own kinsmen as vice chancellors in all the universities at the time are complaining that a yoruba man is in power and appointed a yoruba man as InEc commisioner. |
LegendHero:people should understand something. this presidency is a once in a 48 year opportunity for any geo political zone. I make no apologies for what a yoruba man does in terms of appointments especially when he is doing a good job. Even in America that we copied this style of democracy from, Every president prays for retirement of supreme court judges to occur during his tenure so they can appoint people who have favourable ideologies. If he were not doing a good job, I would be the first to criticize him and indeed I have criticized him in certain aspects. Like orji Kalu said yesterday, the beauty of democracy as practised in Nigeria is that there are term limits....His time has come and will go and the next person from the North will appoint as he feels, when his time expires the person from SS can appoint as he deems fit. no politian makes an appointment that will hurt him. |
EZEBEL:please learn to stay on topic or dont respond to my posts. |
author=mcquin post=137068747]oga knowing and doing are 2 different things. The job of a good leader is to finish the job, you will always have opposition, the same people that criticize you will praise you when they see they benefits. anybody can say we must remove subsidy, every sound economics student who hasnt graduated knopws that. Removing the subsidy and staying strong in the face of the backlash knowing it is the right thing to do is where the courage is. that is where you earn your stripes and place in history as a leader. Do you know the backlash Awolowo faced when he was taxing farmers and market women to pay for free education? i read somewhere that at the time the tax rate in the western region was 44%. What are they saying about Awolowo and education today and forever? |
LegendHero:lets not behave like they behave. He is a yoruba man and anyone who doersnt like it can go hug a transformer. Since 1999 every president has appointed INEC commisioner. These are the rules, anyone who doesnt like the rules should lobby for the rules to be changed but this one o...e don appoint and he will serve his term. |
laivwire:instead of complaining, build bridges so that you can get there and do things in your "objective" manner. na person wey occupy seat dey make appointment. |
mcquin:Tinubu doesnt owe jonathan an apology, If you said he owes Nigerians an apology that would make more sense. Jonathan is the one who should rue the fact that he did not have the courage of his conviction to follow through on what he knew was the right thing to do. |
ogododo:me too i was shocked nobody mentioned cadbury. i grew up knowing him as a boardroom guru...chairman and MD of cadbury. Any diplomat sicint was after he retired. |
Karlman:please stop deceiving yourselves, peter Obi is not a threat to anybody. If you had said Atiku/Obi one can even engage you but OBi? from where? Obi has peaked and honestly i will be shocked if he contests in 2027 and doesnt get less votes than he got in 2023! i can also tell you that the narrative in the North is that Obi is behind this christian killings propaganda from the US so he can forget the North in 2027. And please Tinubu cannot stop the FAAc allocation to any state, it is a constitutional right. Is he stopping the allocation of Kano, Bauchi, Oyo. People please we went to schoool so that the way we talk is different from those who didnt...let it reflect please!!! whoever told you this is definitely not learned! |
Delta defected and the existing APC structure accepted the defectors as their new leader. AKWA Ibom defected no problems, Rivers found a way to manage both sides and retain their structure to play the game for their own interests. You that you have not produced any elected official in 11years that you have superintended the affairs of the party in the state and nominated a minister that forged certificates are rejecting people that have won elections? When SS becomes VP in 2031 and president in 2039, they will still be shouting marginalisation. it is always these same people and their no gree for anybody attitude that creates conflicts everywhere they congregate in numbers since the dawn of our being brought together as a country. The same no gree for anybody attitude, that means even among themselves they scatter everything that they are exporting to other places they have fled. this inability to submit yourselves to party supremacy, this inability to play the long game, the inability to stoop to conqueer, this "my way or nothing" mentality is the reason you never make progress politically or in any endeavour that involves human relationships and why anywhere you gather in numbers eventually ends up in chaos. Dwell on that for a minute. |
Jostoman:Direct your queries to the judge. They are an independent arm of government. As for igboho, I don’t recall him killing anyone, ordering his supporters to destroy, burn or kill any person or private, public property. Secondly these incidents you describe occurred before Tinubu came to office. Tinubu was excluded from govt at the time, remember how you people mocked him from being excluded from the Buhari govt after working to install him? Thirdly, you account for your own actions, they don’t catch you for a crime and then you start arguing that it is not fair because other criminals got away with their crime. Face your own crime. |
Jostoman:Is he the one that arrested him or charged him to court? Tomorrow you are the same people that will start screaming interference with judicial process! The only thing Tinubu can do is pardon him if he is found guilty. However also remember that Kanu gave orders to burn down TVC owned by Tinubu and the hotel she thought belonged to Tinubu. Now Tinubu is president!…….this life eh? |
McDoe:But superintending the killing of innocent people and burning of buses and police stations is kindness? |
“I call for his immediate release or due prosecution”. Is this man senile? What is he doing in court? Is he in court auditioning for Nigeria’s got talent? |
Wike has his own issues we are all Nigerians and we know those who are clean and those who are not. But Nigerians need to understand that most of the CSOs in Nigeria especially those who are funded by foreign NGOs and government aid are the biggest weapons fashioned against the country. They are agents of instability. There are people who are funded genuinely to promote democracy who will no longer eat if Nigeria is viewed to be democratic by their paymasters because there is no need to fund them. So they attack democratic institutions just so they funding will continue. There are those who are funded to promote instability to force the government to do their bidding. There are those who are funded to advocate for victims of one thing or another, so it is in their interests for those things to continue or for them to continue to give the impression that those things (whatever it may be) still persist.. Don’t sleep on the senator who said $697m annually was channeled via USAid to fund Boko Haram. All these save democracy groups are all funded. It’s in their interest to attack democratic institutions in the country…that’s how they eat. If they say the system is working their food stops and most of them have no other job. When I was young what they did was recruit Nigerians as agents as they studied in their top universities. Many of them rose to the top levels of the civil service….they were CIA and British agents. Today the rely on CSO and activists to do their bidding for a fistful of dollars. An Uncle once told me if you want to understand what is going on in anything involving humans...follow the flow of money..ask your self who is making or stands to make money! |
chimex38:There are people who are a temporary nuiscance and there are those who are permanent nuiscance. For me to add you to a list it means you’ve established yourself as a permanent nuisance. These are the people that I don’t want to interact with ever or see their posts. Either way the power to unblock should rest with the person who blocked. |
bassdow:The power to unblock someone should rest with the person who instituted the block. You are blocked on WhatsApp until I unblock you and if I choose not to unblock you, you remain blocked. You cannot claim to want a more harmonious site and then unblock a user that someone has blocked. It means contrary to postulations you want to foster disharmony! It means secretly Nairaland wants conflict. Perhaps it’s good for your site engagement? I rarely get banned by the Bots these days because most of the bans were caused by responses to people who I have now blocked. |
Seun:Allow indefinite blocks. I have a list of at least 20-25 people I have to refresh the blocks every 3 weeks. Or at least give users the option to unblock. There are people on this forum I have no wish to interact with and from the comments from others I am not the only one who feels that way. If you truly want to solve hostility, insults and make the site a more pleasant place dont Nanny state users by unblocking people they blocked. If I block someone , I blocked them for a reason, I don’t want to see their posts or interact with them. When I block someone it means I don’t want to interact with the person, because I want to avoid conflicts, when you force that person back into my space after 3 weeks what it says it that Nairaland actually encourages conflicts contrary to what is claims. Perhaps you just pay lip service to satisfy the authorities but the site actually thrives on conflicts? |
helinues:There are few moments of joy on this platform that beat the green lines that represent blocked trolls.
