Buhari just showed that ElRufai is an ingrate and a man with no integrity or loyalties. I love the part where he said I will never turn my back on a party that gave me 2 terms in office...a clear shade to ElRufai who would never have been a governor if not for APC. |
AMINDA:they are not mutually exclusive. He can decide not to support Tinubu and still be a loyal party man. By the way he didnt support anybody. |
madridguy:a man of honour! |
SadiqBabaSani:Oga that one is politics 103 or 104. Politics 101: your ability to deliver votes determines your relevance. Politics 102 (Nigerian version) before you appoint someone make sure you know the skeletons in their cupboard! |
Nasiru, you never enter one week you don dey scatter the party? |
obyno82:Like I said the problem with people like you is you hat once you face one direction, there is no fact no credible source that will make you see reason. I gave you 2 credible sources, even posted snapshots because I know people like you don’t verify links if one just posts the link. If the world bank is not a credible source then I rest my case! |
BabaIbo:Remind me again which case are you talking about? |
How does a 3 lane road turn into a 4 lane roundabout? |
Obasanjo should tell us the road he built anywhere in Nigeria in his 8 years in power. |
obidark:At least you were humble enough to ask unlike others who comment on what they know nothing about. Nominal GDPis the actual raw GDP measured and unadjusted. So if you produced $400b worth of goods and services that is your nominal GDP Real GDP is your GDP adjusted for inflation. As an example inflation is 30% If sell 1 car today for 10m and 1 sell the same car next year for N13m. Under nominal GDP it may appear my GDP has increased to N13m but the reality is that 13m only reflects increase in prices due the inflation of 30% in reality my GDP has not changed so in real GDP we adjust the inflation of 30% and we get real output of N10m meaning no growth. Real GDP measures real actual growth not inflated figures due to price rises due to inflation. Finally we have GDP (PPP) which is purchasing power parity. Since every country uses different currencies but GDP is calculated in dollars for comparison, PPP is used to adjust GDP to factor in differences in what a dollar can buy in different economies. For instance $1 will buy you. almost 2 liters of petrol in Nigeria but in the Uk it will only buy you 1 liter. Similarly $10,000 will get you a luxury 5/6 bed rental property in Nigeria but you will NOT be able to rent a room in a shared house in London for the same amount. So PPP is used to adjust for the value of a $ in different countries because the purchasing power of $1 in one country is different from the purchasing power of $1 in another. Think of it this way, nominal is how much physical dollars do you have, Real is the actual value of the dollar and PPP is what the dollar can buy in your country compared to other countries. |
AMINDA:Did we complain to you? Do you see the state house of assembly being demolished, violence, allocations seized? Instead you hear the economy is growing every day. Run your area as you deem fit and if you don’t like as we do things in Yoruba land you are free to return to your no gree for anybody zone. |
obyno82:Your problem is poor education or a stunted brain or both. The article clearly states GDP (PPP), my post that you quoted clearly states GDP (PPP) and you are here talking about real and nominal making stooopid comments asking daft questions? If you don’t know what GDP (PPP) is shouldn’t you google before responding? The only sensation is the level of dumb products of our educational system. |
blackgold2018:Go and sit down, Heaven will not fall! Like. Wike said na only ijaw get militants? The contract to secure pipelines no be ijaw man get am. We warned you that this was a foolish move 2 years ago and I am telling you if he is impeached Heaven will not fall. He deserves to be impeached! You people are so focused on bravery and cowardice narratives. Let me explain something to you. Knowing when not to fight is the real bravery. Because it takes a real man to know that. It is children that can’t control their ego, pride and emotions. |
Auspicious2018:Who told you I am a lover or hater of rivers state? I just find the power play interesting and the buffoonery on display by the Fubara camp.. I have no business with Rivers except the entertainment and the brazen stupidity on display, the penchant for violence and the gra gra without brains. |
stanluiz:Wait nah! Shebi it was only last week the Supreme Court affirmed the lawmakers? Fubara is a dead man walking. |
stanluiz:Mhen you people are stooopid. It’s not even worth making any further comments. |
Auspicious2018:Oga stop all this Nzogbu Nzogbu. What has he acheived? Now he is at the mercy of the assemblymen. What has he acheived? Clap for himself and his supporters. He will be impeached. He should govern with his bravery when he is impeached. Too much emotion and gra gra too little intellect and strategic thinking. |
RevDesm0ndJuju:He was allowing that red cap fool from imo and other eediots to deceive him now he is seeing spirits! How do you demolish an assembly complex? |
mrvitalis:I suggest you take a refresher course in economics and learn the difference between nominal GDP and GDP ppp. Even our nominal GDP is far above what you quoted. Nigeria’s GDP (PPP) is over $1.4 trillion according to the world bank’s own figures and other reputable sources.

Joining from where? |
Penguin2:what a load of nonsense! both your falsehood over why AlMustapha was freed but your weak attempt to justify any part played by Fubara in the looting (if any) of state resources. FYI obeying an illegal order is no excuse in the military or in the civilian courts. In factby training, soldiers are obligated and duty bound to disobey illegal orders. Al mustapha was freed because the appelate court determined that the case was not proved beyond reasonable doubt at the lower court. Now I know you are not a right thinking human being. good night! |
spiSeyi:what Fubara is trying to do but clearly lacks the intellect to pull it off |
Penguin2:please try to read an understand. i am responsible for what i post, I am not responsible for your inability to understand. its very simple. he was the Accountant general under Wike. I repeat accountant general. No looting happens without the accountant general and the commissioner for finance...remember when Fashola said "I dont sign cheques"? Whatever deals they did they did together so he is no saint. People are only speculating (perhaps correctly) but why cant he come out and say so himself? Why is Wike himself so sure of himself? what does Wike have over him that even aty the threat of impeachment Fubara cant talk? because he knows whatever they did they did together. So all this narrative about treasury doesnt hold water! Also it means he knew beforehand what kind of person he is dealing with and agreed to whatever deal they had. its not about right or wrong if you are not comfortable with tha raagement, either dont agree to it or resign and if you decide to fight make sure the odds are in your favour. They are both thieves. this is about control of the state...dont start a war you cant win or are not equipped to win. simple! if you want to govern according to your way, then win an election on your own merit. otherwise you dance to the tune of your Godfather. I am not saying it is right but that's the reality of politics in Nigeria and in fact everywhere. In the Uk the labour party dance to the tune of the trade unions, in the USa the democratic party dance to the tune of the labour unions. In America both parties dance to the businesses that donated to their campaigns...... he who puts you in power tells you what to do in power. The only difference is that in Nigeria one man can singlehandedly put you in power. al this pontificating and sanctimony...we are talking about 2 crooks...none of them is a saint this is not about the people of Rivers. Even the so called elders of rivers are most disappointingly taking sides based on who is lining their pockets. This is not about good governance nor is it about the people, this is about the aligning and disaligning of different political factions for capture of state resources and foolish is the man who thinks otherwise. |
Educationalserv: Educationalserv:the fantasist petrol attendant cannot even spell trafigura. twice so people can see it wasn't a typo petrol attendant who doesn't know what a single train refinery is doesn't know all refineries blend, thinks he can bamboozle people or win an argument by name dropping trafigura! olodo atole! |
Educationalserv:In your dreams. The most you will ever get to petroleum products in your life based on intellectual content of your posts is your current job as a petrol attendant. And if you spend all your time posting instead of attending to motorists you may get sacked. since we are playing fantasy on Nairaland, me too I own 3 oil wells. eeeeediot!!! ...and By the way it is Trafigura |
Educationalserv:That’s why you are probably a petrol attendant somewhere. Unemployed poorly educated graduate who couldn’t get a proper job. You asked for examples of Kelvins lies, I gave you 2. You didn’t address that, Instead you started talking about Tinubu and Rano. Is that the topic? Illiterate! Oga this is the internet, anybody can claim to be anything. convince people by the superiority of your posts and arguments. if you have to come online to say i am this and that, you are lying. it means your have reached the limit of your knowledhe and intellectual capacity and you want to bulldoze your way by claiming to be what you are not. When someone posts you will know this person is knowledgeable but you dont even know what a single train refinery is or what blending is and you come here making claims. what a foooool I hope they have paid you for the month, because i know petrol attendants dont earn much. |
Educationalserv:1: you actually are a MUMU. 2: ALL refineries blend. You clearly dont know what blending is. All refineries have blending plants because the raw product of the distillation can be off spec so you blend to get the required spec. That is the kind of term kelvin uses to deceive gullible ignorant poorly educated people like you. sometimes you have standalaone blending plats that buy raw stockfeed and blend but alll refineries blend. 3: I am against all those companies you mention who still import but that is no excuse for Kelvin to come on TV and lie. his case is like a man who knows someone stole from him and then lies to implicate the person. 4: Dangote has a problem because others still import, i am against importation but that is no excuse to lie. 5: i dont have to engage kelvin, he has already exposed himself or else this article would not exist. Finally go and fix your English |
Educationalserv:Nigeria should not be importing full stop. The topic was Kelvins tainted credibility. If you want to be an eeediot, feel free but not on my own time….I am not here for propaganda or prejudices but facts….good day! |
Educationalserv:The guy is a propagandist for Dangote. I am all for Dangote and I believe we have no reason to import any petroleum products at this moment but this Kelvin guy is just dishonest with his commentary. The thing is he doesn’t need to lie, The Dangote refinery sells itself. Kelvin just damages his reputation and I used to take him seriously when he first started his commentary. The fact that newspapers are writing articles about the credibility of his comments says it all. |
Educationalserv:Nigeria does not have enough crude to give Dangote because we have forward sold a lot of our production. Dangote refinery is a single train refinery. I assume you know what that means. All refineries blend. That is part of the propaganda of Kelvin and his paymasters. |
Educationalserv:i'll give you 2 first he said it was a lie that the refinery was working, then he went on and on about Warri not producing PMS and that NNPC was lying.....NNPC clearly stated from the start that Warri is not producing PMS yet yesterday he claimed NNPC were lying about the 84million barrels of crude they supplied Dangote. Wheras NNPC clearly stated in their press statement that the 84m is the total they have supplied and of that, 45M of which was under the naira for crude swap. Kevin deliberately made it sound as if NNPC claimed the whole 84m was naira for crude. Even an elementary school student given the statement as an english comprehension assignment knows NNPC did not say 84m was naira for crude and they specifically said 45m was naira for crude. the guy has no credibility. i am sure he is being paid First pic is press release by NNPC , second is reaction by Kelvin

i switch off whenever i see that Emmanuel guy on Tv, he is so shamelesss! i used to take him seriously but it is clear he is acting on a script. Nothing worse than a dubious intellectual hack using technical jargon to deceive the uninformed. |
