Ikinternational:Try to use your brain (you do have one) and remove emotions when commenting. Hopes first term Election had nothing to do with writing election results. His second term election the fraud (writing results) was detected but he still won even after they are cancelled. Which is my point that with BVAS and EC8, you cannot sit down in a room and write results without leaving evidence. As for Rivers, please show where APC got 88% in Rivers presidential election. Last time I checked he got 44%. |
ibechris:This mythical Northern vote and the idea that a small subset of the North determine the fate of Nigeria will be demystified once and for all in 2027. Below is the reality of Nigeria.
|
seyigiggle:When you see a handle on Nairaland with yoruba in it. Just know it is an IPOB member. So myopia is not his behest problem but lack of brain cells. |
He deserves to be impeached! Heaven will not fall! Though I can understand why they may decide not to. |
Maxymilliano:Everybody wrote election results in the past. Even Awolowo was not immune to writing results. I stress “in the past”. It is almost impossible for you to write elections today without leaving evidence that’s why all those fictitious million votes from Akwa Ibom, rivers, Borno etc have disappeared. |
Mynd44:This is how I see their plan: Obi will remain in LP Atiku will remain in PDP ElRufai will try to pilot the affairs of SDP. The 3 parties will present a consensus candidate for president. That candidate will be Atiku. They will fail! Atiku as presidential candidate is why they failed in 2023 and it is why they will fail in 2027. Atiku as presidential candidate means every Northern PDP governor has no path to the presidency for 16 years so already there is a problem for Northern PDP governors like Bala Mohammed. Atiku as presidential candidate means loss of support of southerners PDP governors. So Atiku will again split PDP votes. SDP has little influence politically and is merely a platform for ElRufai to leave APC and save face by not joining PDP. So that leaves Obi and LP. Joining the coalition as a VP will alienate some of his supporters leaving him with mainly the core Ibo elements. Those non Ibos who naively thought Obi was different will now see him in partnership with Atiku rubbishes his constant efforts to seperate himself from the “culture of criminality”. The long and short as relates to ElRufai is he neither removes votes from APC nor adds votes to the coalition. He is not a politician with followership. He is not a Kwakwanso! |
gigabyte13:PDP was always a flawed party. They are not inherently democrats. They are a creation of the military and they operate by via command and control, imposition, impunity and writing results. The minute there was a serious challenge to the status quo and they were compelled to aact in a democratic manner due to a new strong opposition, they fell apart and they cannot recover. The reason like I said is because they are not inherently a democratic party. You can think of PDP as the political party of the pre 1999 military mafia. They have the military DNA. It worked while the opposition were weak and they were able to impose and rig. That’s the fundamental problem with PDP. As soon as it became difficult to rig, they started to implode. The main difference between PDP and APC is that the typical PDP member will scatter things for the party if they don’t get their way whereas you are more likely to see the. APC man lick his wounds and work for the party……and before you mention ElRufai, ofcourse there are exceptions to every rule. If you look at the core of APC, they have been in APC (AD, ANPP, APGA, CPC etc) even when they weren’t in power at the center. If you look at the core of PDP in their glory days, the majority have defected, are serial defectors, or engage in anti party activities. If you look at the few sources of strife in the APC, they are largely ex PDP members. |
richiemcgold:Very likely events have overtaken the lawsuit but lawyers have not been instructed accordingly. |
nairavsdollars:No worry yourselves about UK, they are fast becoming an inconsequential sheeeethole country! |
Stolen:Typical exchange on Nairaland: Me: Muslims have always been allowed to marry 4 wives. It’s not a new thing! Daft Nairaland poster: U sef who told you to marry 4 wives? Me: did I say to this eeediot that I am a Muslim or that I have 4 wives? Abeg let us stop this experiment of teaching our students in English as it is clear they do not understand English and cannot communicate effectively. |
This is not new. It has been required for ESTA to the US for Visa waiver countries eg UK for years. |
The case is before the judiciary, it is now beyond what the senate can investigate, so the idea that Akpabio is presding over his own case is ridiculous. |
Indigenous languages should be the primary language with English as a mandatory second language. No nation has ever become great with another man’s language. |
xpressionx:Look for and Watch the interview of Cletus obum on Arise. He explained it so brilliantly that the 2 arise TV interviewers were speechless. And even I who thought they disobeyed court order realized one needs to be careful when listening to lawyers on TV. Just as in a court one lawyer will argue one way the other will argue the other, lawyers are merely giving opinions and often their opinions are not thorough. |
nedu666:You people must always get emotional and situate every discussion outside its frame of reference. If my my money is stolen and I take it abroad (assuming I can because it is harder to take money abroad) I won’t care because it was stolen money in the 1st place. The reality is that with international money laundering laws, most looted money is in Nigeria sitting in dollars waiting for an opportunity to launder it either into Nigerian assets or for elections. When was the last time you heard about a Nigerian public official caught abroad trying to move dollars or buying property in Ghana, SA, London or Dubai? It’s happens but it a lot lot harder. Ordinary £5,000 international transfer, your UK bank will ask you to explain where the money came from. If you even attempt to pay in cash of £5,000, I can almost guarantee your account will be closed. So long as the intent is to use that money in Nigeria, one day they will have to convert at a loss. As the the unpatriotic whose money was legitimate, same story, they will convert to Naira one day and take the L! |
helinues:Imagine those who bought @N1900-2000. Some are still holding not knowing it was an aberration and we will never see Naira at that level again. When it gets to N1200, they will all panic and sell their $s causing Naira to rise even further. Fair value of the Naira is somewhere between N800 and N1200. Anyone who understands finance and simple economics should have started to liquidate any cash dollar holding the minute Dangote refinery started functioning. |
ufotunang:That’s a different matter. She was suspenders for breaching the rules of the senate and bringing the senate into oppobrium. She was not suspended because of the accusations of sexual harassment. The matter of sexual harassment will be determined by the court. |
109 senators, 50 senators from 7 different opposition parties, 37 from your own party, 3 other female senators! None supported you! Sometimes you need to be able to read the room and realize you messed up! |
EponObi:I said it in several threads that Natasha has done a disservice to women. People are too simple minded to understand the implications for women. The man effectively said he is sorry he helped her get a position she did not deserve and wasn’t entitled to as a 1st term senator. Sensible men are going to be cautious helping women on the ladder and giving them opportunities as a result. |
Adebishow:exactly, the court is the place to resolve the matter! i like what 1 senator said " the senate president is the 3rd most powerful person in Nigeria and any, any senator can find himself a senate president" so the conduct of senators is important. if a senator is guilty of sexual harrasment, they should throw the book at him by the same token a senator cannot be shouting and behaving in such an uncouth manner like natasha and if she cannot prove her allegations they should throw the book at her! |
X |
Bigboytinz:s if you listened to what the members of the opposition said, what the senator from Kogi said, you will know it is herself and women she disgraced. |
I am watching the whole thing on YouTube, forget whether you are a woman or a man, apc,PDP Labour or whatever. This is a moment of shame for her! Your Kogi caucus apologizing for her behaviour and stating she has always been causing trouble amongst fellow senators, the opposition leader apologizing for her behaviour. Nobody speaking on her behalf. All are not opposed to her suspension, one even saying he is opposed to any leniency. the kogi senator even apologizing for lobbying Akapbio to make her a committee chairman when he said she was a rookie....saying he regrets it. He said she rained abuses him and his mother. It is shameful! Dont be pushed by the devil! |
She came first time and disrupted the senate because she failed to observe procedures. Then she tried to blackmail the senate by presenting a petition and could not even follow the procedures for laying petitions. Like someone asked, even if she doesn’t know, does she not have aides? |
Sobalim:I hope you know the chairman of the committee and the person who recommended her suspension is a LP member? |
Fantastic! She thought the senate is a place for social media skits! |
Gudiza:If there is one thing about me I verify before I post, I slipped up this time because like I said, this info was from The mouth of the deputy chief whip of the senate . Oga I am not interested in emotion and not here to debate conjuncture. I have never been accused of sexual harassment because I am careful in my interactions with women. The problem with Nigerians is they are always unable to seperate the facts on ground and introduce their biases. I am simply interested in facts instead of trial by media. You say you were sexually assaulted and you say you have evidence. Provide the evidence and let us have peace. I am not interested in he said she said. |
Gudiza:. I am responsible for what I said and any errors in them, I am Not responsible for you misconstruing what I said. Six children from different fathers is not the same as six children from six different fathers. In any event it appears, it may be 4 children (not six) from different fathers. However my comment was based on a fellow senator in no other than the deputy chief whip who came on AriseTV to say she had 6 children from different men. Be consistent, she is supposed to be a lawyer but she clearly goofed in 2 weeks on basic parliamentary proceedure? Because someone is a lawyer doesn’t mean anything. I am a qualified civil engineer, I never practiced, a lot of what I learnt I have forgotten so if I make comments about road construction and you take it as gospel the joke is on you! The only thing we agree in is he who alleges must prove and for me the book, the kitchen sink and all closely available materials must be thrown at whoever is wrong in this matter! |
Gudiza:You say she is a mother of 3 adult children, she had a baby for her present husband recently so that is at least 4. Akpabio is not my principal. You can’t on one hand be saying “say no to rumour” while at the same time pronouncing guilt on a man based on unproven allegations. You can’t on the one hand pronounce guilt on Akpabio based on previous unproven allegations of sexual harassment and ignore that Natasha has a documented history of making false sexual allegation claims the most famous of which was against Reno. If character and previous behavior is being called to question, it should be called to question on both parties. If he is guilty throw the book at him but don’t destroy a man because you are a woman and you can divert attention away from your failings on the seating arrangements by bringing up trumped up charges of sexual assault. He who alleges must prove! |
Ojuntana:When you see my name just walk on by, I am only interested in engaging intelligent people. A trait you have shown you do not posses. |
This is not a partisan statement but in a sane society, Fubara would be jailed for life and all his personal assets seized. This is the kind of executive recklessness that exposes governments to future lawsuits like the pi&d, ogun state plane brouhaha etc. However because of the strategic importance of oil to our economy and because he is an ijaw man he won’t even be impeached. You can ignore any “official” communication from any appointee that was not properly confirmed that does not favour you because it has no legal backing. That person does not exist in the eyes of the law so the content of his communication is null and void! Can you imagine the implications? |
