Growing up my brother played Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam) almost every day. I fell in love with Cat Stevens the moment I heard his voice. his songs have such a sentimental significance as he brings good family memories. Cat Stevens converted to Islam but his music still continues to inspire generations. In fact I remember singing this song at a school concert. Memories sure don't leave like people do. Love him

a) Its not like you as a regular user (like me) have been granted any rights or privileges when we sign up to post.  As soon as you comprehend this concept and accept the notion that you are kind of here as a "guest", you will begrudgingly accept some of the things that happen to you here -- such as banning, delete posts, moved posts, etc,   just remember without Seun and the Moderators - it would be chaos in here.

(Talking to myself) - I enjoy browsing, learning and contributing when I can to this forum.(even when I am on vacation) I haven't had any personal issue with any actions made by the forum staff, but one never knows when I might feel strongly enough to not be rational with a rational decision made by said forum staff and get myself some banning.

Humans are fragile creatures. Some people do and say things that may seem silly to others, just to fit in and be one of the crowd. We should be careful how we treat them, all it takes is one word to destroy them and make them feel worthless,( EVEN on forums where they can't even see you )  The saying 'ignorance is bliss' can sometimes be true but we have to learn the difference between ignorance and ignoring, we all live in the same world and should care for each other and there are enough hard knocks in life without us purposely adding to them.

The United States is considering taking part in talks with elements of the Taliban in a sharp change in tactics in Afghanistan, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday citing unnamed officials.

"Senior White House and military officials believe that engaging some levels of the Taliban -- while excluding top leaders -- could help reverse a pronounced downward spiral in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan," the paper said on its website.

The report said the new approach was contained in a draft recommendation in a classified White House assessment of US strategy in Afghanistan. Talks would be led by the Afghan government, "but with the active participation of the US," it said.

The final White House recommendation is expected next month after the US presidential elections, the report said.

Earlier this month, Afghan officials met with former members of the Taliban government in talks in Saudi Arabia.

The Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan has grown steadily despite the presence of tens of thousands of international troops helping the Afghan security forces. There is consensus that the violence will not be ended solely through military means.

The Taliban ruled from 1996-2001 using a restrictive and extremist interpretation of Islam before being overthrown by US-led forces.

On October 8, General David Petraeus, incoming head of the US Central Command, said that attempts were being made to open talks with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Petraeus used a similar approach in Iraq, where a US drive to enlist Sunni tribes in the fight against Al-Qaeda in Iraq helped sharply reduce the country's violence.

Who knows where all of these efforts will lead? Are we going to witness a "new era" of possible cooperations between obviously two different people? If Allah wills it, the topography may change, once again. Allah says in His Book, " They plan, and Allah also plans. Allah's plan will always succeed!" David may just be wrong, yet again.

A woman selling her body for money is more like prostitution.  Prostitution is a federal Crime and I hope you are not encouraging it.  I guess some women become prostitutes out of poverty, and the lack of other opportinuties, some do it because they like it, I suppose. there's probably a variety of reasons however, i still ask myself WHY do prostitution. The risk of AIDS.

I love strong black women (like me ).  A strong black woman is one that holds her head up high in the face of opposition, and presses through adversity.  So all these women who are whinning about their men treat them bad, they have to do all the cooking while the husband lie in bed, hit them  blah blah blah. . . . is just beyond silly excuses.

I don't depend on no man.  I was taught to work hard to get what I want.  I must admit that my mom bought my first house when i was in college but everything else I work my ass off for it.

Maybe that's why guys are intimidated by me .

I don't think a country has cornered the market on dominance. The fact that a man is dominant doesn't pertain to where he is living  -  It depends on individual personality

First to answer why there is only one God - Well, our God is a big God and fills every place at the same time hence there's no room for another.

don't you think that your question "so who created the creator of earth?" is illogical.

Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world,  from everlasting to everlasting you are God - Psalm 90:2 - (seems to point to Gods origin as being unidentifiable, no beginning)

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth  - Genesis 1:1 -  (Right away this should tell you that God was acting before time and he is making reference to the creation of time)

But forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. - 2Peter 3:8 (shows God as being outside of time)

God created the universe (everything which has a beginning has a cause)
God has no beginning (so doesn't need a cause)
We all know that things do not come from nothing, so if God is a "something" then He must have a cause as well, right? and since God doesn't fall into the created or existence category then He is uncaused and uncreated - therefore God exist.

Evolution does not even attempt to explain the origin of life, while creation does. i just don't understand how people walking around here believe we came from a big bang theory. tell me, when you see a beautiful building or something, do you stand around amazed thinking, "Wow!!!! this building really evolved into something beautiful" or do you ask "Who designed this place?"

I may have my own ideas of a good wife but how does a guy expect his wife to be? what would be the expectations?

Firstly, I'll never be a mistress or as they say a concubine.

the person in the story don't see marriage as a must in real life but funny she daydream being someone's wife   Maybe because she is so independent.  Oh yea, love is a choice.  Lets take arrange marriages/internet hook-up as an example -  they may begin without love, but they can produce it in their relationship.  This person who you will know is ready for the challenge of an intimate relationship can be anyone, really anyone at all.  I do not think that there are any two people who are simply incompatible by nature.  The incompatibilities come from not being ready yet for the commitment.  This will cause disaster even between two very compatible personalities.  The whole idea is that if both parties are willing and able to to work hard for the success of the relationship, no matter what, then it won't matter if they are compatible or not - they are going to make it work.  Maybe she just need the courage to say what's on her mind. Crazy isn't it?
