SeedofAbraham: Good morning Nairalanders,
I've been having sleepless night recently as I've been confused in decision making due to the fact that I'm not well experienced about Job matters.
I presently got an offer at a State Public Service with GL 8 Salary Scale of 63k+ monthly (though it's poor) but with a rest assured constant Promotion every 3 years subject to success in Promotion Exercise. There's also hope that in the next 18 years, I'll get to the Directorate levels (GL 15 - 17) where the Pay Structure seems better with Jumbo rise compared to the poor salary structure of GL 7 - 14... Meaning that I'll have to endure till then before enjoyment start coming. Please note that in addition to Promotion every 3 years, this State Public Service don't owe workers salary as they pay in due time as we all know that Public Service has Job Security. Also, I hope by God's Grace that I become a Permanent Secretary if I decide to choose this path while enduring the Salary (I can switch to Federal Parastatals if the Job Offer comes up later though).
On the other hand, I'm about to get a Full time Staff offer from a Multinational Company (Headquarter is based in the US) with more than 120k Salary for a start. There's Career growth and the chance of living comfortably & enjoying life is cool compared to the State Public Service in terms of Salary. We all know that Private Organisations can decide to lay off workers at any time as there's no Job Security. Also, I don't know if Multinational Companies usually lay off only Contract Staff or they can decide to lay off Permanent Staff as well... Though, the Multinational Company have a Pension Scheme for their Staff & didn't lay off workers during this COVID-19 Pandemic as they were operating during the lockdown since they provide essential services.
I wasn't born & brought up with a Silver Spoon and I never pray to struggle in life henceforth as Poverty must die. I'm a Second Class Upper graduate with proven abilities and outstanding performance as I'm a Problem Solver.
I need the assistance of experienced Nairalanders as your advice and point of views with detailed explanations will be highly appreciated. I understand you completely. I have someone who had a full staff job in a multinational logistic company, I.e the logistic arm of B.A.T. the pay an an entry level was not that bad, he was living life, but the bottle neck is that he works from 8am till at least 7PM, though official closing time is 5pm, but even at closing time, pressures from all angles will emerge and he must stay to complete it, else, he will find himself to be blamed. Though there's overtime. Basic salary =53, 000 Overtime which was converted to Weekly allowances due to the fact that he is likely to b in the office till 7Pm= 2k X 4weeks = 8000 Miscellaneous 9K Total 70k monthly. Pension is 10k monthly. Its separate from this 70k. BUT This guy has no time for himself, always getting headaches in the office, pressures, and the management are devil's uncles, they easily lay off staff, and once they hear you bought a car or built a house or acquired something large, they will send auditors to you. You may even be transferred out to another place. Lots of his colleagues were fired!!!! Even to go for Job interviews, he couldn't, he became dogged and began to lie with sickness before they will grant him leave. Even when his relation was doing wedding, he was suppose to be s best man, but couldn't because work didnt let him. He was misersble. Note that this company's offices where a Graduate trainee can be fixed in are Lagos, Abuja, PHC, Enugu, Ibadan (other nationwide offices are for non graduates) with that meagre pay as salary. So his state began a massive recruitment and this young guy applied and got the offer. After deduction, what is left of him now is 57k, but now has time for other things, he even traveled to Abuja recently and he constantly kept on traveling. He is free now. Bottom Line... If you know what you want, go for it. The multinational coy will sap away your youthfulness and most times, people leave such places only when sacked. Promotion is either if another is sacked, resigned or dead. Meaning there is no fix scale for promotion. Salary barely increases and they don't use steps as government coys do. You can easily further your edu and obtain your masters, or even be looking for better govt. agencies. So bro, choose wisely and don't let your future be marred with the present. |

spiro4real: Please my dear Nairalanders, I need your advise urgently. I've got 2 job offers from CBN and NIRSAL and I'm confused on the one to take.
Thanks for your honest advise. Actually, I did tried submitting my credentials at Nirsal, but wasn't successful. I have no connection, though I'm from Agbor, delta state, but the cbn governor no sabi me self. Congratulations my dear. CBN pays 180k as basic salary, you receive allowances of over 40k monthly + #1500 for feeding daily. These are aside the 180k. Then a housing allowance/Upfront of about 1.6+m. In Nirsal, their pay is a bit hidden but i must say is far above cbn, the cbn governor's daughter works there, the son of Dogara, the former Efcc boss works there, a nephew to buhari's wife works there too, these were the persons I saw with my coro coro eyes (don't ask how), you'll confirm when you get there. In all, Nirsal is the best paid, it shoulders with NCC. Please if there is a way you can link me up, I would be forever grateful o, man never get job o, na when I go Abuja go hustle for work I see say life ehn, no balance at all |

I have gone through Nwanyiogwashi's posts here I did not see where she requested money from anybody so why calling her a scammer when she did not request for anything, this is how you guys keep pushing out good people out,if not that tammyanybody is mature he would've left like others. The girl you guys were insulting is relation to well known former Nigeria finance minister and Nwanyiogwashi family is also well known in Delta state and Abuja please don't ask me how I know just keep your doubt to yourself,Ogwashi uku in Delta state which is Nwanyiogwashi village is among the first three richest, educated and influential area in Delta state even jay jay okocha is from the same village with Nwanyiogwashi so why calling her scammer when their is no evidence of that here. The girl you guys is calling scammer is the first person to mention that something is happening in CBN and DPR before tammyanybody confirmed it here now ask yourself if she can share legit infor here is she a scammer. Well said brother. In this thread, people show you love when they need favour, and same people will still be quick to judge and call names. How then will she give the counsel again na, ehn? Nwanyiogwashi is a heroine in this thread and I know that wherever she is, she is doing well. |
