Came across the possibility of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles threatening to displace battery powered vehicles. The technology appears so ubiquitous and cheap that it may also become a primary choice for household AE source. The hydrogen fuel (gas) generator can be solar powered and the gas harnessed to turn turbines which in turn power giant dynamos to power loads.

adrusa:Hmmm. E be like say I go start to dey open dispute dey go o. I'm expecting items yet post office has not even called me. Edited: Okay, it's Lagos folks. Anyway sha, na your backyard border dey. |
NoMoreTrolling:Are they really cheaper? Considering the fact that the Felicity offering is 150ah storage, with less usable and the equivalent Chinese offers that I've come across offer 200ah storage (capacity testing result). |
ojeysky:Definitely the surge is something. But it won't matter if the freezers are started one after the other on a proper sized inverter. A small sized freezer will have like 85 watts continuous consumption. A 1.5kva continuous/3kva surge inverter can handle 5 of those when started sequentially, I think. |
whiteMandingo:Yeah. Have two units installed PowMr and one unit spare MakeSkyBlue, all 60amps. I just need a second MakeSkyBlue to pair with the spare one. I thought the floodgates are opened to Nigeria for AliExpress to do their thing, reason I asked. |
alhasanalo:She mentioned 2 yellow bulbs and 2 coloured bulbs. I'll wager those are incandescent lights like 100 watts each or at best 50 watts each. That's not to mentioned the 5 white bulbs she wrote which are likely CFL each likely 25 watts each - that makes 125 watts and then with the 4 incandescent bulbs (400 watts). That totals 525 watts on illumination alone. 525 watts will power 5 small sized deep freezers. |
whiteMandingo:MakeSkyBlue displays the cumulative, which does not reset at the dawn of a new day. So it keeps accumulating until it gets to somewhere 9/9/9/kwh (not so sure right now) something. The PowMr does not display cumulative. But it's cheaper than MakeSkyBlue now which is getting unbearably more expensive for an offering in that range, even for the fact that the two CCs are of the same form factor and similar performance. By the way, did you just take delivery of the PowMr, ante-covid or it has been with you pre-covid? |
acunon:Please can we get the model number to check out the specs? |
areaboyjoe:The man with the neck fulcrum go get lever pass. |
ojeysky:Sadly the vendors of that battery on here seem to be tactically evading that one million naira inquiry - whether it is real 200ah or just audio 200ah. I can see that it's the potential buyers on here that is trying to ascertain that fact for 'emselves. Me I would just be observing like bat (in Fayose's voice) waiting for a lab rat to give the review ![]() |
mctfopt:Would you want one that will be powered by solar? Maybe you can also give the approximate power consumption you will be okay with. ![]() Just joking. But I've used a number of BT earbuds, from the dirt cheap, unpopular brand name TWS that lasted for 8 months to the Bluedio product (with good audio and battery life) that suddenly stopped charging on the 5th month of use and currently with Anker (also good bass and battery) 5 months in use waiting for when it would go kaput, but hoping it won't. |
Leezah:I've transacted with him about four different times. He is reliable with delivery. Products bought from him have so far been working right. Actually the last deal I had with him got delivered about 2 days ago. So I think he still got his mojo. His prices also seem to be very competitively attractive. I think about two other buyers here have given good reviews about him. |
GRACEGLORY:• Screen size btw 32 to 40 inches. • Curved screen • UHD, but FHD is passable. • External AC power pack (rather than the AC cord) • Preferably Sony product • Android OS on board • USB/HDD recording • WiFi • WiFi direct • TV - Phone mirroring • Phone - TV mirroring • Bluetooth • Camera support • AI with voice & motion recognition • Miracast • Freeview • Free to Air with CI card capability • Power saving/Eco mode • HDMI ARC Those are the specs of choice. Thank you. |
acunon:D'you have this, or something like it? |
GRACEGLORY:@ bolded. As a seller, you've laid your hands on a lot of TVs so yes, I completely agree that you're an expert at this. I be like dude wey just dey manage to toast his second lady. I'm no match for guy wey don have leeway with 150 girls. The latter will be a smooth talker and what they call "Yoruba demon". I only need you to use your experience to provide me with a TV that has the specs that I need. I have written it here before but it seems you're yet to get a product that meets all the specs. |
bbally:I believe in this link is the inverter you talk about. https://www.nairaland.com/390522/solar-energy-complement-fta/726#88936520 It charges well when NEPA provides good voltage and charges poorly at low current. If that's the inverter you use, then that implies you have an external charge controller for your solar charging option. 80% DoD is rather pushing it too much. That inverter has selectable switch for 50% and 80% DoD. I suggest you select the 50% in order to ease the usage stress on your batteries. That being said, you did not mention your solar panel capacity nor give any info on your charge controllers so that people can "audio audit" if it is adequately sized to charge your 200ah 12v batteries. You will need a clamp meter to measure the current going thru the wires from your solar panel, or through any wires for that matter. |
How Fraudsters Among POS Agent can use your ATM without OTP to Withdraw Money from your Accounts opera.com May 10, 2020 8:02 AM I am a mobile money agent that operate different banks POS. A lot of customers always run to my office when been frauded in one way or the days. I help people in logging dispense error and fraud complains to banks on their behalf, from there I have gained a lot of experience about different method that fraudsters use to withdraw money from people's account Today, I let you know how fraudsters among POS agents can withdraw money from your bank account using your ATM without any OTP pins Some POS Agent are fraudsters and some still sell your bank details to Fraudsters Here are the methods they use. 1. When you get to a fraudsters POS agent. He will tell you there is no Network on his POS. 2. He will ask you to let him use his phone to withdraw money for you using online wallet (Quickteller, Opay, WalletNg etc) 3. He will collect your card to input your card details into his wallet to add your card. check below what details of your card he will input. Interface for WalletNg Interface for Quickteller wallet funding Interface for Opay wallet funding 4. After input of your card details including your Security, ATM card number, ATM expiry date, Your Date of Birth. He will try to save your card details. 5. After the transaction is successful, the money will enter his wallet and give your Cash and return your card 6. First transaction on a card the bank will send an OTP to your phone to authorize the payment. 7. When you become his loyal customer, He will be using the app to withdraw money from your account. 8. After several withdrawal on your card from the app. The app will recognized your card as an authorize card holder anytime he wants to withdraw money and it will not send OTP to your phone again. 9. Them he started withdraw small amount of money from your account like N100 for you to keep thinking it is from your bank 10. That is many people always see debit alert of small money they can't claim at bank on their account. 10. Imagine he do that for 20 customers per day that is N100*20=N2000 on his wallet per day. Please, don't allow any POS agent to withdraw your money using his phone. if there is no network on POS, wait till there is network BN or kindly go to bank to withdraw your money. Kindly share this good information with people around you to protect their money. |
acunon:Is the remote control included? Does this have Bluetooth in addition to the WiFi? |
JUO:A friend got a 42 inch "dumb" (non-smart) Hisense TV. Also on solar, he went Hisense because I got energy efficiency with my own Hisense. Sadly his Hisense does not even have anything close to energy saving. I was shocked and angered at the same time to know that Hisense could produce such stupid specs in a TV in 2019 irrespective of it not being smart. But my own energy efficiency is Top notch sha. That'swhy it's good to buy from walk in stores armed with kill-a-watt meter. |
Barezzi:If the OS on the TV is android, Plex should be available for installation from the play store na |
microgiant:Yeah, that adjustable backlight should do the magic. But the best objective way is to go armed with a wattmeter. It is the cheapest, others - Sony and Samsung are between 30% - 50% higher in price microgiant:That's the challenge with online purchases. Many of the vendors don't even know the importance and necessity of their diplayed products being energy efficient. Even when you visit the ones in walk in stores with your wattmeter, they look at you as if you want to perform some miracle. |
mctfopt:That's interesting. Didn't know that TCL is such a popular choice. My reservation though is that the quality of TCL products that will be produced for Nigerians and West Africa at large will definitely be substandard to that produced for North America. This is the same story with Samsungs and LGs produced for Africa. But it's actually settling to know that TCL is a popular foreign brand. I had always thought that it is just some roadside Chinese cheapo like them "Djack, Hiview, Armani, MasterChef" and co TVs. |
ojeysky:You mean deliveries are now taking place? My orders are still in "stuck mode" o. 17track did not show any activity in movement at all. But the post office have not started functioning yet na. |
omotoda:What's the size of the TV? Model number? Price too. You will only be able to objectively tell the effectiveness of the "power saver" if you have it plugged into a wattmeter while you activate the option. In the absence of a wattmeter, you may subjectively be able to tell by the longer backup time of your battery. It's good to know that TCL has that option. I have been wary of non-popular names in TV since when I purchased a 42 inch LED TV-decoder combo startimes. It consumed 69 inches and it had no power saver! I mean what nonsense was that? Even an 11 year old 32 inches LG LCD has power saver. Stuck with if for almost a year, I had to gift it out when I couldn't even get a buyer for it. |
ojeysky:Was this AE order? |
microgiant:The TCL that consumes 135w at full blast may be okay on only one condition: if it has "energy saving" option. With that option, once activated, the consumption may drop to as low as 25 watts depending on the size of the TV. 55 inch Hisense smart that is 125 watts at max consumption drops to around 25 watts at highest power saver. I use 60% power saver and that consumes around 30 watts. The remaining 100 watts can better be channelled to powering other vital appliances instead of just wasting it on TV alone. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THAT TV (ANY TV FOR THAT MATTER) WITHOUT BEING SURE OF THE POWER SAVER OPTION. Better still if you have a wattmeter handy at the point of purchase to determine the consumption at different scenarios. I know most large screen LG, Samsung and Hisense have that option. But I can't tell for TCL since it is a new brand trying to penetrate the Nigerian market. |
And things used to be sweet. Only in our wildest dreams can it go back to that.
|
ojeysky:This is not a palatable speculation. |
ceaser:Okay. Thanks. Does it have Bluetooth? |
acunon: ceaser: acunon:From that link, it is stated that it has no in-built camera but what was not stated is if it has camera support (for external camera) Also it seems not to have Picture-in-picture (PIP) feature. No Bluetooth Also is the backlight adjustable? |
