Very good inverter, I've been enjoying mine since 2016 in addition to the ipowerplus batteries. Although, I've not yet added solar to my setup but hoping to do so soon
Thanks

House.

Is this inverter good that it can be recommended for someone? I don't want anyone to come and be locking my shirt after 6 months o.

It's not my battery that is the issue but the inverter. It's a genius inverter and I mistakenly charged it with a small gen which caused something to burn inside it. So I'm looking for a replacement inverter while I take it for repairs.
Does the inverter still charge normally after the incident?

It may be that the charging circuit is affected and does not charge your batteries to full capacity again which may explain the short backup from 12hrs to 4hrs.

Also was the change in back up time almost immediate following the spark in the inverter or was it a gradual thingy? The latter may suggest that the battery is either naturally approaching EOL or the poor charging from a bad inverter charging circuit may have had some not too good effects ok the batteries.

Lollzz... You forgot he stated "at almost 6 months interval"...
Biko, how do you buy Lithium battery package at intervals? Buy the battery modules, then later the box, and later the BMS.... Lwkmd!!!
cheesy He is talking about lead acid bank, not lithium.

saint2ace:
I think the sequence should be battery module, BMS and box, am really thinking of buying my battery pack in that sequence. That way it's easier on the pocket.

Or what would you all advise, jejelaye grin

By the way am thinking of abadoning the box and building a power wall or power box and be getting the batteries lil by lil, I hope the internal resistance won't be a problem for cells of different age and usage?
Look just buy as many cells as you can accumulate (become an accumulator cheesy), then buy the BMS. Don't bother buying case o. Visit your local welder to construct a case for you the size of which will house all your prized cells.

With 2 Taico balancers and 3 HAO2 attached to my 20 x 200ah batteries purchased at almost 6months intervals. Some of whigh are already 2yrs old but never experienced 50% DOD.

Though I acknowledge lithium is is the new template for us but
For some of us who can't afford lithium at a go will have to make renewable work at our pace using lead acid. It still serves me well with my manual Air conditioner working till day break and a resting voltage around 50.1v

So my brother.

Don't loose faith in balancers.
I only hope you did not allow the terminals touch
@Bolded. Do you mean 20 (twenty) pcs of 200ah?

Now I understand your position that you can't afford lithium at a go. grin What is the voltage of your system?

The lithium that will replace 20 units of 200 ah at a go, well maybe Buhari will lend you the money sha.

Bro which type is manual air conditioner? Is it power saving? cheesy

So I thought about the possibility of flexibility for DIYers in the use of the LFP packs. I have 2 packs of 12v that are each composed of 4 pcs CATL 105ah 3.2v prismatic LFP and 12v BMS, though different products. These cells do not require soldering job, only screws and wire lugs to from the pack.

What if there is a way to develop a quick swap reconfiguration to 24v, 36v, 48 and even 72v pack by just dismantling current packs and reconnecting with the appropriate BMS?

I feel this will reduce the headache of getting LFPs that will not support series connection. One can simply re-configure such LFPs with the appropriate BMS.

I'm not willing to try this out now o grin , not until I have spare LFP to play around with. I'm planning to acquire a lot of CATL LFP cells as much as my pocket will allow. Then I can expand capacity or reconfigure as I wish by just screwing in cells into the packs.

I seem to be in the same shoes, got a 12v 4000w pure sine wave off grid inverter from Jumia global, but on testing it the noise coming from my TV speakers was something else. But once I change it back to grid power or my prag inverter the noise disappears.

I'm contemplating returning it back to Jumia and getting a refund, but I need to be very sure before doing that as all my fans are DC fan and I don't have any coil based equipment to further test and confirm.

Can anyone advise on a means of confirmation to know for sure it's pure or modified sine wave.

Attached is a picture of the said inverter.
Please return it. If it's thru Jumia global, then it's likely to be a modified sine wave. It'll have been better if you ordered directly on AE instead of going thru Jumia global. You'd have filed a trade dispute for your money to be fully returned and AE still allows you to keep the item as proper punishment for the seller for selling you a fake product.

As per the way you can confirm if it's pure sine or not, the more accurate method is using a sinusoidal wave meter which is pricey and of course not easy to come across from local sellers. The crude method is the humming sound when appliances like fan, sound system and TVs are plugged in.

I don't know if someone else has any more ideas.

Can you recommend standing fans to use?

My current fan (OX AC 230V 50HZ 70W) makes a very loud annoying noise whenever I'm on inverter (Mercury 1.2 modified sine wave with Luminous battery)
Get 12v DC fans that are available on Jumia and Konga for as low as 14k for the 16 inches blade. They are non-rechargeable but can be hooked to your inverter (via included AC pack) or directly to your 12v battery source or hooked directly to your 50 watts 12v solar panels.

How about his load? Are his appliances energy efficient? eg. He may not be told by his installer to switch to energy efficient appliances. I remember someone talking about a customer not willing to do away with a 600watts TV. Why use 100 watts light bulb when 5 watts will serve same purpose. Implication is I will use the energy of your one 100 watts bulb to light 20 rooms at 5 watts. Dig?

And for those shouting lithium lithium, I forbid you to mention that name on this platform again until I save enough to buy it. Stop intimidating me else I will send the anti spam not after you or invoke village spirits to block sun from shinning on your panels. Lol
Enjoy, my eyes are on you. Meself go join you later than sooner. 350k no be small money, I never recover from lead acid
.
grin lol. Badu belle
I pray God gives you the financial strenght soon to hop on the lithium wagon.

Hopefully the lowering price keeps its trajectory and naira does not further plummet against the dollar. And of course may vendors not flood the market with fakes so that the lithium experience is not bastardised for everyone.

I have been thinking about implementing a config like this for some time to save on upgrade costs and also just for the heck of it.

It should work reasonably well if you use the PylonTech to drive the system - one source of control.

The other LFP bricks are just connected to the battery bus with no comms between them and inverter or GX.

I would oversize the other cheaper battery bank a bit to allow for quality control variations and so that the PylonTechs never discharge into the generic battery e.g match 48v 400Ah of PylonTech with 430 to 450Ah of a generic LFP
@ bolded makes a lot of sense.

If the alternator has been changed to a good one then the issue may be somewhere else. Just incase attached is how to disconnect the alternator from power supply. You can do it at night, if your level remains the same in the morning then it's not from the alternator. You then need to trace via the fuses. Here is a good URL that explain that process, it can take as fast as 5min or as long as a couple of hours depending on how fast you detect the culprit.

Not really an answer, just sharing.

I got to know a reputable seller on Alibaba from a Solar forum and the cells have been tested to be full capacity by multiple buyers and were recently confirmed to be manufactured by EVE a reputable battery maker.

These prismatic cells are 3.2v 280ah at about ₦33,000 each, so around ₦264,000 to make a 24v 280ah ~7Kwh battery weighing roughly 45kg.

The issue is shipping.

I chatted the company about shipping cost and their rep advised me to wait till miday before making any purchase as shipping prices are very high at the moment due to covid.

But I estimate shipping to cost between ₦90k and ₦150k, depending on if naira regains or losses value and if global shipping costs drop back down

So everything would be ~₦390k give or take ₦30k, plus a BMS @ ₦25k

Alternatively there is the Felicity 24v 200ah ~5Kwh battery which can be gotten locally at around ₦340k ~ ₦350k, need for BMS.

But I haven't really seen any review of it.

So my options are 7Kwh @ ~₦415k ± ₦30k or 5Kwh @ ~₦345k
EVE is also a good product, like prismatic CATL.

should I say she wasn't councilled very well, immediately she got to know, she stopped living, stop taking care of her health, like exposing herself to malaria, though she feed well, took her drugs, she was even buying her own drugs, she doesn't go to hospital, she later got married, gave birth to a child, the marriage n birth things,i think weigh her down too much ,when she has being the breadwinner of her home, though she had a feɗ govt joɓ,we still lost her.
Indeed it can be a very depressing and challenging state, with all the stigmatisation and unwarranted social distancing. Having a positive outlook to life despite being HIV positive is important.

Usually the health facilities organise group meetings for PLWHA in in such fora, pxs share their experiences and challenges and how they overcame it. These serves as props and encouragement for some who may be giving up. Couple of them find love in such forum and get married, even inviting the medical team to their weddings.

Another important thing is that the managing team should identify closely with them and avoid being judgemental as much as possible. A positive px once confided in me that she had believed all her life that the health workers assigned to see them are themselves HIV positive and she thought that was the reason why they could comfortably attend to them without stigmatisation.

Once again, my condolences.

I think you can do that if you buy a 24v BMS or an 8s BMS and disconnect the BMS that came with the pack, you can then connect all the 8 cells in series. Just trying to help. The OP the ball dey your court grin
You're very right. That would be easy for someone with some handy and DIY experience. And especially easier with the 32650 and prismatic cells which require more of screws and metal bar conductors to build the pack.

32650s that lack screw contacts and 18650s will definitely prove challenging except one has spot welders, itself another pricey acquisition.

@ OP ameh99, you have not answered the question posed to you o.

Getting married does not guarantee a 100% safety. If one of the partner gets infected thru the various ways available (wrongly or innocently), the other partner is at risk.

What would you say about Health Care Workers who got infected from patients in the line of diligently discharging their duties? D'you want 'em to blame God?

Unfortunately that serving senator has just been placed in a vantage position and given the power to spread this thing generously. Worse still if he is the type that has sworn to make sure as many as possible must be in his shoes by hook or crook, then you can be sure that every dang lady that crosses his path will not escape being laced with the virus. Then the guys that hump those ladies are in trouble; if she decides to have a baby, the baby too is in trouble of being born with the virus.

The senator has the money to lure them to bed, the influence to force those of them that put up some resistance, and the virus to give to them. That is a dangerous corktail.

Sorry about the loss.

What happened that you eventually lost her? Going by your narration that she was not happy, did she default the use of her medications or did she stop keeping her clinic appointments?

Ok. You're right. I don't know why he wants to act like all is cool with his aunt. Without the drugs she will die and it's very expensive if not for the benevolence of those developed countries. But now that US is withdrawing it's aid to WHO it may affect some of these NGOs and funds may not be available to purchase the drugs.
Nature abhors empty space. If US steps out, other countries, especially ambitious China may step in to fill the void. In fact, due to the corruption associated with HIV funds in Nigeria, some sponsors have stopped giving funds for a while now. But things are still running although suboptimally, still better than nothing.

What I'm not sure of is if China will be as reasonable, humane and benevolent as the USA in dictating the terms and conditions in such instance.

CML patients, Diabetics, hypertensives, sickle cell px and a lot of peeps with chronic illnesses take medications every blessed day. So also there are birth control pills that are taken daily.

In fact, there is now an FDA approved drug for HIV that is one monthly injectible. You get the injection once a month, so you're saved the daily routine of oral medications.

In case you have reservations about that too, know that there are diabetics that take insulin injection every blessed day. Also there are women that take monthly injections for contraception.
