Dam5reey:You're still getting it wrong. LFP is not complicated, Felicity messed up by declaring wrong capacity, firstly; and secondly the BMS that failed isn't a nail in the coffin of the battery itself. It's just to replace the darn thing and work goes on. As per the battery that died after 5 days, aside from the fact that the person may have abused the battery, a more plausible and likely reason is that Felicity did a bad job in the battery. If such company can declare false capacity, then I wouldn't take it past them that they could as well package rubbish/substandard stuff in that battery that failed. That being said, no amount of Felicity fails will make me romance lead acid again except maybe for small jobs and experimentations. I like the freedom and rest of mind I have from nursing a battery as if I'm nursing a patient on bed, ensuring it gets the yèyé periodic equalisation or getting worried if it's unable to achieve float in any one day. You will even need to be giving some distilled water as if it's one ancestral diety that receives palm oil drops and libation, haba! s'ógun l'ayé ni? And well, I just took delivery of two more 24v/105ah from a 9ja DIY supplier, one for me use and the other for a friend who also got interested in switching to LFP after his lead has served a little above 2 years. Well packaged even if not at a seeminly industrial look like the Felicity's but not bad nonetheless. Like someone said, if we are to have only battleborn (hear the name sef sound like war, na only warriors like earthrealm fit buy am) available, the closest majority of us would still have gotten to LFP is to discuss it. And even though I can manage to, but I would feel imprudent putting that much down on a product whose price is probably overrated because it's not widely available and because it's from the west. |
adrusa:Wawu! I'm short of words. Not good experience being the lab rat. But you took the plunge anyways, for a lot of aspiring users here. Thanks for that. |
Casemiro:Understanding the use of solar as an alternative energy source can be challenging from the initial state. But with continuous exposure to it and also its use, you will get to understand more and discover that it is not really that difficult. Visit the thread below for more exposure: https://www.nairaland.com/390522/solar-energy-complement-fta/764 |
YourNextLevel:Hi. Visit this thread for great ideas and answers to your question on solar provided by DIYers and people who have had experiences subsisting on solar as their energy supply. https://www.nairaland.com/390522/solar-energy-complement-fta/764 You won't regret it. |
Blueprintz:What I did in my own case are these: • Ensured that the inverter switch is a throw switch kinda (like that type on tonididdy inverter), I avoided an inverter with the soft press switches. • Soldered wires to the two terminals on the switch and ran the wire outside the inverter. These two wires if connected together will equally switch on the inverter since they are directly wired to the inverter switch. These wires form the terminals for my external switch. • I secured a PWM charge controller, not to charge the batteries, but to serve as a low voltage disconnect device. I got a PWM CC that has user programmable settings (load on, load off values can be changed on the controller). These controllers usually have in built relay switches that does that job. This PWM CC will be powered as a LVD using voltage from the output terminal coming from the actual MPPT CC that charges the batteries. The wires run from the output (3rd pair) terminal from the MPPT CC to the battery input (Middle pair) terminals on the PWM CC. • I DIYed a relay switch to be at a Normally Closed(NC) position. This switch has two input terminals which will connect to the "light control" terminals on the PWM CC and two output terminals that will connect to the two wires from the inverter switch. NB: I DIYed this when I got inpatient because of my LVD device order from AE was taking too long to arrive. • The PWM CC Low voltage disconnect and high voltage reconnect was reprogrammed to the desired values. How it works: The output terminals on MPPT CC reflect the battery voltage which is sent to the battery terminals of the PWM CC. At LVD, the light control (3rd terminal) of the PWM CC trips and switches off the relay which switches off the inverter via the wires that run from its switch. At HVR, the reverse happens. The inverter therefore automatically switches on and off a cording to the preset HVR and LVD respectively, a the while the actual factory switch on the inverter will be in the off position and useful only as manual override. NB: I could have bypassed the use of a PWM CC and used the light control terminals on the MPPT CC to control the relay but I disappointedly discovered that the latter does not have an editable high voltage reconnect setting. Disclaimer: The inverter tweak may void warrantee on the item. |
Blueprintz:The LVD device that eventually arrived but not time to fix it yet.

kingi777:So sorry about your loss. Many in Nigeria believes the disease isn't real even if the disease burden appears lighter than malaria that kills more in Nigerians and the African subcontinent. With that unbelieving mindset, a lot of Nigerians have thrown caution to the wind by refusing to adhere to precautionary measures, endangering themselves and other innocent Nigerians in the process. Amongst the elite and most especially the political class, they have taken their own folly an extra notch by turning the situation into a looting venture, lying brazenly to the public that billions of naira have been expended in palliatives and construction of either non-existent or non-equipped isolation centres. As if that foolery isn't enough, some have taken it further by slashing 25% of their state's civil service salary teeming it a "mandatory donation" for palliatives towards less privileged in the states while some have barefaced my tagged it a lie and refused testing and protection for the health workers in their state domain. I'm writing about that imp in Kaduna state and that sadist in Kogi state. Well, there's more. The FG has just reneged on her signed agreement of improved hazard allowance for frontline covid health workers and other health workers at large. I hope the citizens will not revel in calling health workers names when they start industrial action in 12 days time. The government was supposed to have fulfilled her promise about two weeks ago. When questioned, they grumbled that they are broke. How da heck d'you expect citizens to believe that gibberish when days ago you approved NASS 200 billion budget and 27 billion naira NASS complex renovation while in the same breath you slashed the education and health budgets? Who does that? |
Fhuuls passed it because Buhari agreed to leave their 100 billion house budget untouched and also approve the 27 billion naira renovation money; all at the expense of the health budgets and education budget. Covid-19 the current emmisary of pandemic, you're seeing this now o. These are the people you're suppose to target and wipe off the earth. You spared them with the hope of giving 'em a second chance, now they are mocking you again even while you are still alive and kicking in Nigeria. |
Casemiro:You want to use solar to charge it, right? Since the AC charger than you bought with it broke and you intend to go with solar charging, you'll require solar panels to achieve that. But you can't plug your panel into the battery terminals just like that, you'll need a solar charge controller (hereafter referred to as SCC) in between the panel and the battery. Now majority of SCC are designed to follow some charging pattern that is meant for lead acid batteries. Charging patterrn of lead acid chemistry is quite different from that of lithium. The maximum voltage values for charging the batteries too are different. So if you need to do that of lithium, you will be better off getting an SCC that allows you to edit/programme/change values to the parameters that is perfect for lithium, 14.4v maximum charging voltage in this case. That lithium battery in the picture has four terminals - the two input terminals and the two output terminals. The SCC goes into the input terminals and the output terminals is for your appliances. |
PrecisionFx:First it was, there is no sexual immorality but sex. Now it's there is no genuine Christian, but Christian. Your choice of complicating simple concepts na wa o. |
Casemiro:Just get a 12v solar charge controller that has user adjustable values and edit the max charging voltage to 14.2v. You can connect the controller to a 150 watts panel. |
aizakun:It won't be lower than what has been prescribed. But lower loads will make you enjoy things more. |
mctfopt:The heating unit usually have a different switch that enables its control by choice. Flipping that switch on can increase the total consumption to as much as 850 watts. However the freezer compartment alone is usually below 100 watts There was a time I had to go hunting for one. I checked a shop that had up to 30 different brands. The least freezer compartment consumption I could find was around 89 watts. I just dropped the idea of acquiring one. |
aizakun:Your LED TVs consumption are usually twice the inches size at full blast, so except they all have power saver (energy saving mode), then you are in for some power guzzling. 65 inches smart - Approx 135 watts 43 inches smart - Approx 80 watts 32 inches - Approx 70 watts Ceiling fans - I don't have much idea about those. Energy saving bulbs: I'll wager those are CFL. 18watts in 12 places is a whopping 216 watts For your bulbs, I'll suggest you jettison those CFLs for LED bulbs. 5 watts LED bulb equates about 18 watts CFL in lumen. So your 12 bulbs in LED will give you like 60 watts which is very manageable. Your watts total around 345 watts (approx 350 watts). You even get to reduce it further to less than half of that if your TVs are power savers. I also believe not all appliances will be in use simultaneously, maybe one TV at any one time will be working. |

mrkings84:Not a bad exposé. Reservations about the bolded, it needs a caveat. Between a married couple, there definitely can arise the fear of unplanned/undesired pregnancy post-coitus if there was no contraception observed. Even the news of a missed period can also be depressing for the said couple. That does not qualify 'em as sex thieves. So you may want to edit that. You did not add "the possibility of contracting STIs". This also applies to even married couple including but not necessarily if infidelity is a trademark in their union. So there is no hard and fast rule about that too. PrecisionFx:Sexual immorality is the "selling off" of sexual purity and involves any type of sexual expression outside the boundaries of a biblically defined marriage relationship (Matthew 19:4-5) ... Culled from the net. Immorality implies going against what is moral. Moral is what appears upright, that ordinarily to you as a higher being with an inbuilt sense of dileanation between what is just and what is not, are able to decipher even if you don't act along with it. Sex is a deeply intimate experience that you ordinarily will wanna gift to someone special. That special status is a desired reciprocity. Anyone can become special at a point in your life, but that does not really give the assurance that that special someone cannot dump you the next day. But a way to give yourself some assurance is thru the social contract of marraige. That is why you will ordinarily be comfortable to/wanna display your sexual ravenousity with the person who has agreed on that contract with you. Can you still get dumped despite that contract of marriage? Heck yeah! But half assurance from a marriage is better than no assurance from a random individual who has not seen himself/herself committed to you in a form of contract higher than mere acquaintanceship. |
ojeysky:I actually wonder if a mod is behind the bans. If it was a programme then I have not been banned for posting NL links. But if you're banned for that, then that is selective and it's either the ban is by a sicko mod or the programme is going berserk. I noticed that bans can also be earned by typing something as harmless as Lion EighteenSixFifty in numbers. And of course posting other numbers from solar calculation sequentially also does. We work with numbers on this thread, so any sensible mod should know to make exemptions by now. |
earthrealm:Don't migrate yet o, biko. You're not alone in the frustration. I feel it's the mod that is in charge of this thread that should do the needful. If he is part of active users of this thread and has not seemed it fit to do the needful, then I'd say he/she is one sadomasochistic scum and a sicko. But let's cut him/her a slack and assume that they're not aware that the roBOT they programmed has apparently evolved to break the rule of "harm no human" for a while now. Don't know how to ping dem mods. |
"I Killed Him Because of The New Car He Bought" -Friend of Kidnapped Man Who Was Found Dead View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Total Post View 47 views Killer of the young Nigeria man, Micah Isaiah also known as Leo who was murdered after being kidnapped early last week has been found It was gathered that the sad incident happened on May 12, around Willow Wood hotel in the Imo State capital, Owerri. It was reported that the deceased was said to be a good friend of his alleged killer and had rendered a lot of help to him while alive. According to finding of the Investigations conducted, the killer friend got jealous after Leo bought a brand new Lexus es350. The friend, however, decided to kidnap Leo and then took him to Anambra State, where his Lexus es350 was sold and made away with the valuables of the deceased friend. The suspect, that is, the jealous friend, confessed he hired people who appeared in military dress code and abducted his friend to their scene of crime. The jealous friend who knew the whole plan all along was sitting with his (late) friend when the fake military men kidnapped him. The culprit confessed that on getting to their scene of crime in Anambra, they smashed his head with a very big stone visible at the scene which has been censored and cropped out. https://www.operanewsapp.com/ng/en/main/-i-killed-him-because-of-the-new-car-he-bought-friend-of-kidnapped-man-who-was-found-dead?news_id=00dc0e95c947d3a18087380c672ab3c2&news_entry_id=25070578200520en_ng&open_type=transcoded&request_id=DETAIL_EXPLORE_5b87f429-54f2-4825-a5d0-e14366733a98&from=news

iscom:How much for PEA 40k man?
|
Very sick government administered by sickos. Corona should have given that dude a wisp of its unpleasant smell to inhale and just show him the younger brother of death rather than sparing him by hair's breadth. I'm sure if that happened, he'll never think of prioritizing NASS inflated and unnecessary budgets over that necessary and non-negotiable education and health budget. |
ojeysky:Did you speak to 'em in Chinese or Mandarin? Cos this one that they understand your displeasure at them when you screamed ![]() |
tonididdy:Maybe you'll check it with another power source that may have the correct frequency. A NEPA source in another or a different generator. In worst case scenario, I think you may get an external AC charger and use it on your batteries while you keep your inverter to do its own thing. |
ojeysky:Good. I had doubts if the 24v/100ah will do fine on AC. The AC is the reason I got it and the set up will most likely power the AC only. Maybe occasionally other appliances like water dispenser or an extra fridge if it can give that allowance. But mainly it's for the AC. How long d'you think the backup after sundown from 24v/100ah will be with your kind of AC? And the number of panels that'll be required? There's a 60A MPPT on ground, thinking of getting one more in case panel requirements exceed that allowable by one pcs 60A MPPT. Also there's a 1200w/2400w pure wave on ground. |
ojeysky:Neither an increase nor an overhaul. Just an extra system. Meant for a different 24v system. The 12v LFPs are still very much in active service. 16 cells? That means your bank is 24v/200ah. I had it in mind it was 100ah all this while. My question on your experience with your use of the LFP and MPP with an air condition is still unanswered. |
ojeysky:Congrats on the free upgrade. Meanwhile I just finished my order for 24v/100ah LFP about 36hrs ago and now you're just coming out with this. Na wa for you o. But I think if you are able to get more 3.2v/100ah prismatic LFPs (I strongly believe that's what your pack is made of) and a 48v BMS, you should be able to reconfigure your battery to 48v. Were you able to use the MPP and the LFP battery with air conditioner satisfactorily? |
viazi:Just get in touch with @ "Justcallmenuel". Guy seems to have very competitive pricing of his items. I believe you'll get a fair deal on LED bulbs from him. |
