spyglaxx:Now this is funny. ![]() |
chris81964:Holy moly! You mean the real deal? As in the "powerwall" or those of the cars? Those would cost a fortune. Will check your videos later. |
cool318:From dusk till dawn is about 12hours of light, but varies with daylight savings and soltice. You can use 1 watts or 3 watts high power LEDs in parallel combination of whatever number of chips you intend to use. You can use LED drivers (specific for the number of LED chips series-parallel arrangement) or you can construct simple current limiting resistor circuits as drivers. The 1 watt chips usually have a running current of 350mA, 3 watts chips 700mA while both operate on voltage range of between 3.2v to 3.5v. You may or may not incorporate LED lenses or beam diffusers to widen the beam angle of your lights. Your choice of power storage could be smf battery (heavier, cheaper) or lithium chemistry based batteries (cleaner, light weight but costlier). You will need CC specific for the battery types you intend to use. Some CC come with dusk till dawn option where they sense the solar power voltage to determine when to output power to the load (lights). In such case, you may not require photocell. I have tried this before and I wasn't totally satisfied with the set up (due to the limited time I have for leisure from work) so I just went with the simpler options. For the solar stand alone street lights, I purchased some solar light system from konga and just hardwired a LDR for the dusk-dawn cycle. There is one called "saroda" with 6v 3.5watt panel and 6volt output to two 1 watt bulbs claimed to run for 10 hrs on both bulbs after full charge. The batteries are 2200mah Li-ion in 2s 2p configuration. I modded the power consumption of the lights using limiting resistors to further extend the working time to around 16 hours but with some hardly noticeable reduction in intensity of the lights. The panels are placed on top of each pole. For the wall security lights, I opted for 12volt DC set up. Got 12-24volt AC/DC powered lights (the 1 watts type consumes around 0.10A at 12volts producing around 100 lumen). It's made with 5050smd LEDs and is bipolarity, meaning it works in any direction you have the polarity. About 10 of such connected in parallel configuration. Dusk-dawn cycle is via LDR. All powered by a portable 12volt 12ah solar system(20 watt poly solar included) which I got off of konga. I recently changed the source to a Li-ion powered set up. |
pranil:Bless you bro. |
pranil:Thank you. This comes in handy. |
conyema12:You should be able to get replacement fans from your usual computer parts store. Perhaps get a marching voltage, dimension and power from some old scrapped PC tower; that's if you've already diagnosed the fan as the primary fault. |
PrecisionFx:I guess nothing will happen. Yorubas mostly will not protest as long as his guilt is proven beyond reasonable doubt. Ditto Tinubu. His kinsmen will simply tell him to go serve his term and finish it quickly so he cam come home and rest. Even after he must have finished serving his term, ONLY his family will do a homecoming for him. Yorubas as a whole will have moved on with the betterment of their own lives. Examples include Bode George, Afolábí, etc. |
wtracy15:Hmmm. It's funny how they usually exit in some serious manners. Three G-guys all perished in a car crash (Lexus es300) sometime last year, taking a primary school bus driver with 'em. The other day, another one fell from a height to his death. December 2017, another was resuscitated from the brink of death in a hospital after he slipped into a 12 hours coma following an overdose of weed. He kept demanding for discharge against medical advice some 2 hours after resucitation. He said he needed to go get something in his car. He wouldn't even delegate the ward orderly on that errand as whatever it is needed to be retrieved by himself from his car. He eventually got his wish, but I kept smiling all thru his agitation since i could make a pretty good guess why he needed to be discharged to get to his car. |
frinx:Already he has further compromised his chances of getting any good jobs or even keeping same if he gets any with that post he made on social media. These days, people who work with private business should be careful what kind of image of themselves they propagate on social media. Same with job seekers. HR personnels and companies surreptitiously visit Facebook and other social media pages of their employees to see as a means of profiling them. |
valentinenwoko:Do you mean to say 2000 naira? The least charged that i was aware of about two years back was 2,700psm. That includes materials and workmanship. |
valentinenwoko:That's alright if that is what your budget can handle. I have been to couple of houses where that obtains, even using asbestos sheets in place of PVC for other rooms. But i realize that the PVCs fall off with time (although i have seen poorly anchored POP ceiling collapse too after about 2 years), and bearing in mind that POP is getting cheaper since a lot of people now provide the service, you may still try to save some more movies to do POP in other rooms. |
Angelawhite:Issokay o. |

kiekie1:Oh, okay. Mucho graçias. |
pranil:Plasma TV na terrible power hugger o. Recently changed LG 42 inch was rated at 600 watts. Do you also place the fridge on solar comfortably as you do the deep freezer? Someone advised me that it is better to have freezer on solar than a fridge cos the former starts up at more frequent times than freezers do, the compressor thereby drains more stored power from high start up currents. He gave the same arguments for air conditioners placed on solar Inverters. Is this argument very valid in your opinion? Opinions of other pros in the house are highly welcome. |
pranil:The links you provided do not appear to put the price and there is no way to place orders from the link. Are these product available on the common online malls (k*nga, J*mia and the likes) where orders can be placed. Please give the info. Thank you. |
kiekie1:So you place both ACs simultaneously on your set-up? |
makavele:Bro, I'm still temporizing o. Wanna get it all right and be dead sure before i start connecting stuffs. ![]() |
bigrovar:Noted. Is it with a 24 volt set up? How many amps of battery and solar panels? Thanks. |
ruggedtimi:Aside from the compensation, you could make a fortune out of selling space debris, i hope you know that. There's a show called "Space dealers" for auctioning space debris. Before i release anything at all, I'll make sure i first steal the technology behind it. That's the most important. |
stephleena: iksman2002:For fcuck sakes, can't you decipher a simple sarcasm when you spot one? Your emotions and sentiments are on serious overdrive that you can't even pause for a second to know who speaks or what is spoken. If it's real warfare, you'd had already rained bullets on stephleena (your fellow IPOB agitator) simply because he/she wore the enemy's uniform for reconnaissance. Haba! This same untamed adrenaline laced approach used by IPOB made them the super villain in all those drama. They ended up making more enemies for 'emselves. A better, more reasonable, subtle and diplomatic approach may have made them the heroes of the day but no, everybody that does not align with their hate propaganda is maligned, abused and termed animals in the zoo that should be killed. How the heck do you expect me to support your cause, no matter how little, when you have already declared war on me by calling me an animal? Tah! |
wink2015:But i don't think that is what he is doing. Presently, the general consensus in the South West is that Buhari can no longer be tolerated. I'm sure Tinubu has felt that pulse and made his decision in line with it, but he is only playing along with Buhari. |
Angelawhite:Really? Any iota of empathy? |
shallysgirl:Warned against what sef?! Wetin sef?! Is this too hard to understand? You see this and a few others are statements common to die-hard proponents of the immediate past regime: We/You we're warned. We must continue to suffer it together, liquidation dance, etc. They are chants reserved only for quitters, losers and the defeated. How then do you get the strength to push on when you already put yourself down? There was so much rot and sleaze going on in that administration your man was not ready to address them. Nigerians in their millions begged and called on him to restore sanity into his government but he turned deaf ears. In retrospect, Jonathan placed Nigerians in this predicament. If he had been the very good president that Nigerians wanted him to be, no Buhari from Jupiter would have unseated him. The citizens can no longer tolerate the nonsense from Jonathan and he was eased out, simple. Sadly, there was no third or fourth credible and popular candidate to widen choices. Buhari that was to come on board deserved a chance like every Nigerian just like GEJ was given a chance 6 years and 4 years before then. Right now, Buhari has not proven to be really outstanding just like GEJ did and the general consensus is that he can no longer be tolerated. From your leanings, and emotionally driven affiliations and comments, you are actually the one with the penchant to play the tribal and religious card.

chuckjonesautos:Did you really get what everyone is saying? Kanu went about it all the wrong way. Ain't nothing wrong with agitation, but it has to be done reasonably and with moderation, not calling your potential supporters animals and rooting for their elimination. The first and only time I heard radio biafra was when I was in Onitsha for a charity health awareness organized by some young western elites for the underprivileged in some parts of the east. Out of boredom, I tuned the radio on my mobile phone and was shocked by what was being broadcasted. Listeners called in and perpetuated the same air of hatred and disgust with their contributions. Hausas, Yorubas, in fact all ethnicities in Nigeria save core easterners weren't spared the curses, abuses and vituperations. I had it recorded (about one hour of the broadcast) and immediately uploaded it to my virtual drive for future reference. Radio Kudirat was established by the Yoruba elites to fight the Abacha junta. Then it was a fight for the interest of Nigerians, not westerners, against a dictatorial regime and that was why it was a success. The radio even gained much traction amongst the Northerners. I'm sure if peaceful disintegration or at best, regionalism had been included in the broadcast agenda then, it would gain as much traction. OPC was seen as a Yoruba diplomatic movement albeit with a militia tone to it. Afenifere was strictly diplomatic. Both aimed at pushing the interest of Yorubas in National integration and pushing for regional governance of the various federating units, eastern region included. When it became apparent that both movement are getting militaristic to the detriment of the interest of Yorubas having been highjacked by some undesirable elements, Yorubas in their entirety called for their conscription. No one shouted ethnic cleansing from the mountain tops. No one blamed other ethnicities for the loss of vision that led to their loss of relevance. When Gani Adams faction of OPC tried to play the same game of pipeline protection that the Niger Delta militants play with GEJ to enrich 'emselves, yorubas were the first to publicly distance themselves from such sham, entreating the FG instead to rightly empower the nation's maritime security forces to do the job. Of course now the two movements have regained some of their relevance amongst yorubas and may regain their lost glory if they reposition themselves for national interest and regional empowerment. The point I'm trying to make here is that your opinion is too sentimental driven. You won't achieve much with that. Best you will do is make more enemies as many will see you as u serious just as it happened here with BankeSmall's opinion. |
klax:Bless you. |
Adebowale89:Finally a reasonable response. I couldn't agree more. Sentimentalism shuts out sanity in reasoning out issues. That Bakare was once the running mate of Buhari does not imply him to be taciturn when the latter is erring, most especially when such errors endanger Nigerians who he has sworn to protect. I am so distraught when I see some people blame those that now condemn PMB simply because they supported him in the initial stages. Such attitude is so pedestrian. The rule of life is simple: First we are humans before any ethnic, racial or religious affiliation. Our religion should indeed be "Humanity religion". Once you understand that truth, undue sentiment will be done with and it won't matter to you if your blood brother was the president as you will readily condemn him if he is shirking in his responsibilities to the citizens. This same Bakare, Soyinka et al damned ethnic and religious affiliations and stood by GEJ against the Yaradua cabal and ensured that he (GEJ) was rightly made the president. Would any reasonable individual devoid of undue sentiment still expect the same support when it becomes apparent that he has lost his ways and kept at such despite all entreaties? Hell no! So he was rightly removed for someone else to take his place. This new person has lately displayed serious level of ineptness and reasonable Nigerians are counting his days in office. But some funny elements filled with bile because their man was voted out will keep blaming Nigerians for changing their mind, even to the extent of promising to still vote for Buhari come 2019 in order to ensure, in their own words, that the suffering continues. I mean who thinks primordially like that? It's sickening to say the least. |
I'm just pissed off right now. I watched the video and realized that this is simple technology which every Nigerian with bright mind can conceive and construct if the environment is an enabling one. The government that should be responsible for human and capital development drive to encourage our teeming youths with ingenious minds to come up with beautiful ideas as these are the ones that will dole out billions in taxpayers' monies to purchase these basics. I expected to see something from outta this world in the video, but I was just angered instead. The link below is a construct for low energy, low cost DC powered cooking hood (kitchen hood) that one of ours thought out. It is an impressive work. https://www.instructables.com/id/Cooking-Hood-Design/ The problem of Nigeria isn't exactly the followership, but bad leaders that allow the citizens with potentials to rot away. |
Mintek:You should get his sarcasm nau. |
GoroTango:I'm sorry you had to think this way. It's seriously erroneous assumption. With the spate of security problems and challenges in this country that some northern elements has proudly claimed responsibility for, and the taciturn attitude of the president to bring such elements to book, you can be sure that his loyalty lies not with Nigerians that voted en mass for him. Nigerians in return will make a statement in the polls. And i tell you that southern interests or not, PMB has lost his steam and will be rightly kicked out. Even the anti-corruption crusade upon which he rode to victory is a farce three years in retrospect. |
