weirdarkhitekt:I don't normally get IBTC online purchases alert instantly even when there are no system upgrades. So your delay may be the usual delay in alerts as I usually experience or it may be due to the system upgrades over the weekend. |
spinola:There is a similar set up I have mostly powering the house. Hooked up all the lighting bulb points to 12 volts DC direct source (jettisoned all the 220VAC bulb connections). I modded the DSTV decoder and startimes to run on 12 volt DC direct - backup is 10 hours on a single sunny day charge after like 6.5 hours of sunlight. It's only the TV that needs to be on 220VAC. The security lights are class 2 automation that come on automatically at night. The bathroom and walkway lights are automated by PIR sensors that I got 'em routed thru, so that reduces the headache of having to monitor people leaving a hard-harvested energy wasted. Have standalone solar powered standing fans in each room (but nna meeen, that your 16 hours running time claim get as e be o) that run as long as the sun shines and gives between 6-10 hours battery backup depending on the fan speed. Few wall sockets got changed to USB type that connects directly to 5 volt USB output to work some USB powered devices: Phones, tabs, fruit mixer, desk lamps. The remaining wall sockets still maintain their 220VAC source (Generator, PHCN and inverter installed by engineers like geesampower) to power devices that still rely solely on 220VAC. I still don't like the restriction I experience with using the central inverter (it's a small unit for only the sitting room TV). So future plans include: Decentralize the inverter sources just as I did to the light (LED) bulbs. Each bedroom in the house to have a small standalone inverter unit to power the gadgets therein. Ditto the two sitting rooms. I have seen some DC pressing iron and kettle listed on Konga et al. I plan to give the products a try. Initial plan was to get a solar water heater (an overhead tank cum cooler that uses sun's UV rays to heat its content). Those ones go for around 400k on Konga. Change the pump to those solar powered ones. Of course that costs a fortune. Solar refrigerator - also cost a fortune. I don't know what geesampower has to say about that decentralization of a central inverter source idea. Do you think it workable? The link shows how I did some of the moddings for 12volt DC direct. https://www.nairaland.com/2777363/aluminium-stone-coated-tiles-things/3#45057032 NB: It's not primarily a thread for solar stuff, but the link will take you straight to the post on the moddings. The picture shows one of the modded 220VAC LED light to run 12volt DC.

Lstar4real:Alright. I guess the links I copied were those of the pictures of the items rather than the full page of the listing. I will re-confirm the 1688 links and give you the valid ones. But what about the AliExpress links? Those ones should open. Abeg, help to treat those ones. Thanks. |
gidimasters:My subscriptions on glo has always been 2k5 for 4.5 gig, always unusable. The last one, I was able to use only 200mb outta 4.5 gig before one month expiry. Na that day I enter airtel office complete MNP form and within 24 hrs, I was in Airtel realm. Useless glo called me 2 weeks after to know why I had ported; good thing, I simply rattled my "trials and tribulations" using their network for calls and data. Several forfeited business calls, epileptic signals and frustrating HSPDA data. The Custocare agent didn't even know what to say. I guess she knows that no amount of apology or promise to improve services will get me back. |
ceaser:I haven't gotten your quotations to these inquiries. |

KolaShangOne:Eeya. Sorry about that. Life goes on jàre. |
44chux:Bro, a number of gadgets that are powered on 120/220/240VAC now sustains on 12volt direct DC. Technology and research is continuous. There are 12volt DC blenders, 12 volt DC irons, kettles, pumps, even 5 volt DC (USB) gadgets too exist. So a low voltage household refrigerator these days doesn't have to necessarily function with a compressor. Solid state devices perform the functions of cooling. There was an LG battery LED TV marketed in Nigeria few years ago. It was one of my favorites. It was however alleged to have been killed by generator suppliers. Typical of some terrible and selfish Nigerians. |
pragmatistm:I made some solar products purchases from a seller on Konga. He included fliers of the products he sells in the package sent. There is a DC refrigerator listed in the flier. I will take a snapshot and post it here soon. NB: It's a Solar refrigerator. But I believe it sustains on 12 volt battery source as back up as shown in the picture.

ibkgab001:That's interesting. Are you a member too? Highly suggestive from your use of the parlance - "belong". Perhaps the group is ideally meant for good, but the powers therein may have intoxicated him so much. I've heard so much about the subject's despotic rule. I believe peeps here will be eager to know what gives him so much impetus to do all the wrongs he does. More please. Waiting. |
Akshow:Sorry friend. Demand for those too have increased, so is the price. It is prohibitive ![]() |
RichYoungNigga:You wouldn't care if this country goes to the blazes just so to gloat "I told you so". What selfishness! All because of one person's unholy ambition. Nigerians are indeed their own enemies. |
refreshrate:Hehehehe . Dude, you be yèyé guy o. |
ChukwuIbrahim:That is the absurdity I worry about in Nigeria and Nigerians. You try to ease pains, a few disgruntled freed Mu'fuckers will find a way to make prohibitive profits at the expense of the Nigerian people and regulatory bodies, either true bribes or ineptitude look the other way. Don't be surprised if all the fuel stations in a particular community form an association where they agree "not to compete", that is, sell fuel at "the same price" irrespective of where it is sourced from and also in unison reach an agreement to tamper with their gauges in order to maximize profit while sanctioning whoever breaks the agreement with all forms of deterrents possible - financial, physical abuse and even spiritual (jazz) attacks. There is this gas station owned by a woman (Bo*a*) that chose to stand out as reasonable and honest among the independent marketers by selling her commodities at 86.50 NGN and even goes as far as routine checks of her gauges to ensure the gas attendants have not tampered with it. She faces daily harassment from other marketers for daring to be different. Even the police she reported a case of death threat to could not guarantee her safety |
sexymonkey:"Poolani herdsmen" will be waiting for you there. Hehehehehe. ![]() But jokes apart, I think some form of subsistence farming is in order. Been encouraging peeps to do that ever since the January 2012 fuel subsidy removal by GEJ. As at then I had a small garden that provides basic daily groceries needs for a family of 6 members. You still needed to outsource your rice, yam bla bla bla sha. |
impartialspec:Eeya. Poor you. |
AleAirHub:AleAirHub: Giving monopolists headaches since 1900 ![]() |
989900:Abeg, how are we supposed to seek redress for this deliberate banditry ny Stanbic? I have been to the customer care desk to query them on this issue. While the online Custocare agent appeared to be apologetic and promised to look into it, the one across the desk jn the banking hall was telling me rubbish, playing too know. Had to lecture him with hard evidence on the places where stamp duty applies. He stupidly still wasn't stirred. |
Yeah. My next topic to hit front page will be like: "See the black widow spider a Nairalander killed on his wall." By the way, the OP should have picked a flute, a harmonica or something and play a tune. That could have been on beautiful Nagin you just murdered there. |
EasternLion:I'll wager the teeming buyers in Lagos have also relocated to Aba to ensure being around the sellers always. A wise trader will not do that. Best they can do for now is have branches of their outlets there. Expansion is the key, not relocation. |
bennito:I think only Glo has that wonderful offer. Unfortunately for them, their data connection is wack on most days. Airtel offers only data gifting (via credit or from your own data allowance) |
AleAirHub:Thanks. Got it. For the 24 volts solar operated gate openers, the links are mostly of mains (220 volts) operated and also use rack and pinion as drive. The option is to get one that uses Chain and sprocket drive mechanism and also powered by 24 volts solar with/without back up battery. Another variant has the option of being able to switch power between AC and DC. There are a couple of these on Amazon. Can those still be found on 1688? |
haibe:The question was if every windows phone out there has scratch resistant screen. I answered in the affirmative and gave reasons. I have seen several android devices from many OEM that you cam barely see thru the screen because of several scratches from use They are touchscreen devices for goodness sake, ain't no way they won't be exposed to scratches from swiping gestures, but you need a great screen to withstand that use. That was what I pointed out that your average windows device provides. NB: The 4 year old L1020 camera trumps the shooters on every available phone out there. The L1520 has a very good shooter too. The respect of Nokia when it comes to optics and its algorithms for smart devices is not mere mouth. |
Ay04z:ShareIt Xender Both in the store. |
haibe:Yes they do. MSFT has minimum requirements in standards that they give to those that intend to install the WP OS on their hardware. If you can't meet the minimum standard, MSFT will not grant you the licence. |
jimohibrahim:I believe the appropriate response is "Bing to know more about her" |
sonnie10:The heart is to the left bro. The stab is on the right. Only a very long tool would navigate that distance, except the victim is dextrocardiac. |
pragmatistm:But those ones still run on AC, meaning you will also need an inverter. There are refrigerators that strictly run on 12 volt/24 volt DC. All you need to have 'em running 24/7 is like 150 watts solar panel, solar charge controller and your 100ah deep cycle storage cells. |
dhardline:Could it be those that have always made lives difficult for teeming Nigerians by hoarding and selling PMS above the regulated price? Karma may be a bad guy. |
dynamix101:Once or twice before when I got my items in a major post office, I was issued authentic looking receipts (looks like a bank cheque slip from a distance) for such monies. Hence I decided against querying 'em for such charges. At the outposts/local post offices however such receipts have not been issued to me (those charges are decided at the major post offices, scribbled on the packages and the items dispatched to the local post offices). I want to assume such charges are arrived at by weighing the items. The least I've been charged is NGN100. |
Please can you give the quotation on this: http://awp.m.etao.com/h5/m-super/detail.html?id=526495020585 Send to: smartintelle at gmail dot com Thanks.
