Ayyomrond: O.P VERIFY YOUR NEWS BEFORE YOU POST TRASH.THIS IS THE NEWS WE RECEIVED FROM OUR ACTING V.C WHO IS CURRENTLY ON A VISIT TO USA GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM PROF OLUKOYA OGEN TO ALL ARBICANS Dear colleagues, Greetings from Chicago, Illinois. Hope all of you are well. I am fine here and the weather is superb. There is tremendous progress regarding the grant and other proposed collaborations. Meanwhile, this is to quickly clarify our University status. Contrary to the news making the rounds, the FG has not outrightly reversed our status, but only puts its implementation on hold, ostensibly, pending the enactment of the necessary legal frameworks by the National Assembly. Authoritative sources from Abuja and a scanned copy of the FG memo sent to me expressly says ''Put on hold' and not 'reversal' This is in order to follow due process and to make budgetary provision for the new universities. Staff and students are therefore urged to remain calm so that the legal stage could be fast tracked with the same tact, vigour and speed that brought about the initial Presidential pronouncement last May. The Chairman, CoDs, Dr Gbade Ikuejube, has been directed to continue to oversee the affairs of our great institution until my return next week. Sincere regards, Prof Olukoya Ogen. Prof Olukoya Ogen is currently in the United State of America (USA) and he also in talk with some Universities in USA on ways to collaborate with AFUED. A 20 Million Dollar Grant is also on the way. The Professor of History is expected back to the University Next week. Which University pls? Am 4rm Alvan. Thanks a lot! |

Built2last: The hatred people have for Fani kayode and PDP will not allow them read what he said in the above article and the sense in it.
I know Junaid will not make such senseless statement during GEJs time but now that PMB holds sway. we should expect that.
below is my earlier assertions on realisation of Biafra and eventual breakaway of Igbos from Nigeria. If Igbos want to go. whats the big deal. all these attention and palpable fear of Nigerians on Igbos is becoming too much. haba. If they want to go, lets free them peacefully. all these Igbo and Biafra news is becoming boring.
I think that the governments move against Radio Biafra is coming rather late and giving it all the publicity they never had.
I am not one of those who fool themselves that Biafra will not be realised one day. History has it that those who have been held as slaves or third class citizens always gain freedom. The Jews gained freedom from the Egyptians after 450years, Indian got independence from Britain, 1948 the Jews stubbornly carved out a state for themselves in the middle east. The black Americans now vote and contest elections. The scotish will break away from the British someday..its just time. The followership of Radio Biafra is crazy and if the agitation has not died 40years after the war. It wont die again. White Americans told black Americans that they will remain in perpetual servitude. Today history and time has proven those white Americans wrong. Pro-Biafran groups are doing all they can to gain global world leaders attention and trust me they are gaining momentum. The last Biafra day celebration accross the globe gives credence to this. BBC, New York Times and Jerusalem Post has reported in Biafra in the last one week. Thats a reach out if you ask me.
Here is my proposition. I will not tell Igbos to go or stay. It is their right to choose what they want. As a matter of fact the push by many people for them not to go is giving the struggle much more popularity. There was war in Nigeria years back with a monumental pogrom that left many Igbos dead. Nigerian state must not pretend all is well and keep moving ahead. There is need for a reconciliation and assimilation meeting between the state of Nigeria abd Igbo leaders. Ask your Igbo friends at work if they truly will desire to leave Nigeria. 8 out of ten will say yes. The more reason i think the agitation for Biafra actualisation will not die.
The Niger Deltans who were cold enemies with Igbos are gradually aligning and having clandestine meetings. Veraciously clamping down on Igbo Biafra will not work. The support and sponaorship is high and we must not pretend that the inventive power of the Igbos will not help them in this Radio war. How about NBC licensing Radio Biafra with a Different name like Radio Igbo or something else.
I write this because i have the deepest concern for what will become of our great country Nigeria in the coming years if its not well managed. I am married to an industrous Igbo woman who has given me 2 sons. I asked her on bed last night if she supports realisation of Biafra, she said she will sponsor yhe agitation when the time is right. My wife has never mentioned Biafra but its deeply seated in her. We are both highly educated and understand rights. She and my two sons are all i've got. The Irish marry the English, yet the Irish is planning to secede, so, don't crucify me.
There is need for a wound healing meeting now before its too late. We will appear delusional if we think that the Nigeria of 1960 is same today. History has a way of proving those who say things are impossible wrong. Some people said PMB will never become Nigeria's president again. They said he was old, he is a dictator and all sorts. Today he is the president. Biafra will be realised if Igbos are not fully re-integrated into Nigerian politics and all the hate against them stamped out. God bless you a million times over my dear brother! U've said it all, let those who have ears hear! Signing out! |

Toks2008: Desperate for a husband
For many years i never knew how ladies in their very late 20s,early 30s and late 30s feel when it comes to the issue of settling down with a man until recently when i had the cause to really get close to many of them.
Yes many of them will always insist that marriage is the least of their worries but deep inside, most of them are hoping desperately to have a man to settle down with and my acquaintanceship with some of them made me decide to write this short piece hoping that when they see and read it,they will come to understand that their desperation is self inflicted and until they learn to put themselves at a vantage point, they will only hope and wish for a long time that a man comes their way.
I have witnessed many deliverance session for ladies all in the name of looking for a husband but after a close look i come to realize that they are their own problems and this is as a result of the society that have brainwashed them and rather than dealing with the problems, they end up running from from one prophet to another and from one deliverance service to another and some have become a shadow of themselves as they turn to emergency sister dressing like masquerades, going without earrings, make up and even on low cut all in the name of looking for a man.
Please when next you see such ladies, help me inform them that deliverance won't solve their problems and even when we know that there are spiritual hindrance to getting a spouse, most times what we need is a re orientation of our minds, ways of life and culture.
1.Many ladies will not say yes to a man if you are not ready to do traditional wedding, legal wedding, white wedding, blue wedding... Please tell me how easy you expect to find a man in this harsh economy.
2.As an Igbo lady, you are naturally at risk unless you drive it into your man's ear that in your own family they don't ask a man for crazy bride price otherwise you will only see men come into your life without discussing marriage and you will think its a curse from the village but its only as a result of the funny belief that Igbo ladies are expensive to marry.
3.How many ladies can start a life with a struggling man? I guess part of the prayer point during deliverance is that GOD should bring a ready made man to propose to you.Mumu
4.Funny doctrinal belief is another hindrance and many ladies who run to conservative churches in the bid to have a man end up in more bondage.I had a lady friend in her 30s who i admire so much but she goes to one of this conservative churches and there was a time i was so sick and i was expecting her to visit but she never did and when i told her i was angry, she was so quick to say she can not visit me at home and i was like FOR REAL? Even a sick guy? i even told her that she would have at least come in company of a friend and i lost interest in the friendship instantly and i wonder how she will get a good man with that mindset.
5.Rough past is another hindrance and many ladies just believe that if a man loves them the past does not matter.
6.Lack of wife qualities is another issue and i wonder how a lady who does not have the required quality to be a mrs to a man will be desperate fore a man because even if any man comes,he will eventually leave you until you work on yourself.
The bottom line is that many ladies we see in churches today who tend to be looking for a husband are their own problems. So stop been desperate and work on your mindset and you will be surprised that in no time,a good man will walk into your life and marry you. How can I generate 25000 Euro with zero capital? Pls connect me on @dbigcee4real, my twitter handle. Thanks man! |
