Another disaster would have been trying to man the aircraft carrier to full capacity with their small navy.
Infact it must surely take their entire navy to man the carriergrin

It would take one bomb to wipe out their entire navy.
This is why I believe that aircraft carriers should be own by countries that can afford to lose them, when you have A.Cs you need to reconfigure your entire navy defense system just to protect the damn things, but who knows maybe they would've been able to handle it hey.

First of, Nobody knows everything, neither did I claim I knew everything.

On the question, you don't go about printing/posting names of heroic soldiers like they're some filthy statistics on the wall. We don't keep scores with dirty terrorists. We make sure we facilitate their meeting with their maker. No question asked.

This is what is important, Dead soldiers are giving a proper military burial, there Gratuities are paid to their next of kin and the state pays for the eduction of their wards, including free medical care at military and government hospitals.

"Gen. Chris Olukolade @GENOlukolade3d
On Honour for Slain Soldiers: We do give due/befitting burials. Publicity is deliberately downplayed owing to sentiment #VictoryforNigeria"

Nigeria has lost around 400 troops since the start of this insurgency.
Henry when it comes to deception I give you an A+
400 really you expect me to believe that, that's sound like your own personal estimation, don't lie to us dude.
Here's a link that says you're lying, your people quickly buried on the battlefield I assume that's to hide to actual numbers which proves that N.A is losing a lot more men than its claiming.

The worst part about this is that none of these claims are made by a crazy journalist who was not even on the battlefields or some beat up commanders trying to bet back their pride, but actually these claim are made by your own soldiers dude your own troops are telling the media that their comrades are being buried in shallow graves to hide the truth. And yet you guys have the balls to claim that S.A is hiding 37 bodies, lol hahahahahahahaha wow SANDF is very transparent when it comes to revealing the truth about our dead soldiers including the ones killed in the most screwed up and careless accidents, we honour them all, and we never leave them behind and we don't prevent their families from taking or seeing their bodies once they get back home.

Lol a "decommissioned" Aircraft Carrier?

With no means to upgrade or maintain it locally that would've been a disaster.

This is what I'm talking about, our politicians love buying old B.S

Centrifude: The real question that we should be asking here is that, how many soldiers has Nigeria lost to Boko-Haram, since one out side Nigeria know how many, because your army only releases the number B.H fighters killed, what are they hiding, why do civilians and the soldiers say one thing, and then Government official come and deny it.

@agaugust & Henry120 Since you guys know everything, why don't you enlighten us and tell us how many soldiers you've lost in the past 5 years? And please don't give us your personal estimations give us proper numbers and Proof.
huh??

"RFI’s special envoy in Bangui spoke to a source who says he was present at the French military base near Bangui where he saw more than 50 body bags being loaded onto a Hercules C130 aircraft sent by Pretoria. He said other bodies were arriving as the 50 were being loaded on to the plane.

The source wishes to remain anonymous.

General Arda Hakouma, who led the Seleka rebel coalition operation to capture Bangui, insists more South Africans were among the soldiers he killed.

“What is certain, I personally, Chief of Staff, chief of operations, so I am the one who directed the battle, I saw 36 South African dead and 22 wounded. That’s for sure, and there were prisoners too, we handed them over to Fomac [The regional African peacekeeping force for CAR]," he said.

Sources in the Central African Republic government and security sector told RFI’s Cyril Bensimon that the South African Soldiers are fighting to protect mining and oil contracts signed by South African companies with CAR president François Bozize."

How come the French troops and their commanders confirmed that we only had 13 dead, if you lived in S.A you would know that its very hard to hide such things from the public.
If there had been 37 more dead soldiers their families would've came out and told the public, 37 dead soldiers would be almost impossible to hide, opposition parties are watching every move the ruling party makes.

MikeZA: They are not obsolete.

They lack stuff like canards and stuff.

They're the same sukhois India downed many F-15s with, during some exercise years back.
Well at first I didn't understand why india would be selling awesome planes like Su-30s until I did a bit or research and I found out that the reason they sold them is that the commanders had realised that they are now obsolete compared to modern standards, and that's why I also consider it to be obsolete in a way, thing is I know the Su-30 is an awesome plane I'm just tired of Seeing us Africans buy stuff from someone's garage sale, or from a second hand store.
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Centrifude(m): 10:32pm On Sep 30, 2014
Henry120: Exactly my point. Operators still miss targets even with all the add on's and accessories. I'm by no means saying accessories aren't important, however, if an Operator or any soldier doesn't practice regularly, he'll still miss his target even if it were only 10 meters away.

Everybody likes to see troops in fancy tactical gear, I know I love it a lot . It's always "sweeter" when they're Nigerians.
Yeah Skills and good training are what makes an Operator really "look Cool", what I've noticed about the Seals or S.A.S is that those guys actual give up protection *heavy armour* for high-tec gadgets plus its much easier to shoot and move around when you've just got your battle jacket a helmet and good combat skills.

Angola is seriously arming up ey. Almost upgrading everything, but I'm not feeling the Su-30s they bought from India ey, those were already considered to be obsolete by india.

Henry120: The point is special forces operators dress up in a manner they are comfortable with. Not always in tactical gear.
Yeah my point exactly, that's what I was trying to explain to that other dude, Heavy armour and a lot of tactical gear doesn't make an operator better than anyone else, All those pics he posted were just for Show, those guys probably don't even dress like that on actual deployments.

Helmoed Heitman actual acknowledges that there might be repercussions for such a deployment but I like how he said that even though this whole ish might come back home, the troops deployments will be much faster.

I hope Nigeria also joins in, because we need everyone to take part in this numbers do count.

denisfidha: What I haven't been able to figure out is with Africa Stand by force and with the Intervention force Brigade, how exactly will they be able to be deployed? Because basically the Intervention force is a rapid deployment force deployed to avert a major crisis.... So what will be the threshold for there deployment? Every country in Africa has its own army that can atleast try fight its own enemies. I don't see a place in time where the AU or UN reacts quickly to a crisis with all its politics and bureaucracy . Eg. is South Sudan, even after more than 10,000 civilians are killed, no intervention has been deployed to date, even after the UN camps in S.Sudan were attacked by rebels, the two waring sides are still setting the conditions for dialogue..... huh
Dude when it comes to the matter of how they are going to be deployed I'd be lying to you if I told that I knew how's that's going to workout.

Most African Countries have serious issues when it comes to rapid deployment, we don't have those major heavy lift capabilities. And let's be honest what good or right thing has the U.N ever done, they deploy late and they just watch as civilians get killed.

The way I understand it is that ACIRC is going to be a South African led force which includes Countries like ude Algeria, Liberia, Sudan and Uganda. Its said that these Countries have invested a lot of money into training the troops they are going to be contributing to the force, With South Africa being said to have spent over R4 billion rands which is around $363 million. So I don't think they'd spend that much money on training troops without coming up with a serious plan to help them deploy those guys.

But all we can do right now is just speculate to how things are going to go down, until the actual thing happens, because no one is releasing any kind of substantial information.

Can't you read you dumb*ss? I was quoting the title of the Article.

That link said "About 1 500 South African soldiers are preparing for combat against some of Africa’s most deadliest Islamic militants, as part of the African Union’s (AU) African Capacity for Immediate Response to Crisis Force (ACIRC)."

Which means they are going to war with Africa's most deadliest Islamic Militants, regardless of where they are.

When the U.S. Said that they were launching 'A War on terror' they didn't specify the name or location.

Mi-35 best attack heli in africa?
have they forgotten about Algeria's 'Superhind Mk-3' which was upgraded in S.A and is a direct competitor to Mi-35 and some consider it to be better than the Mi-35.

Not forgetting that ATE also produces the Superhind Mk-4 which is way better than the Mi-35. So if there was a shortage of attack helicopters in the S.A.A.F we'd buy more from local companies, which are way better than what N.A has.

First pic: Algerian Super-Hind-MK3

Second pic: ATE prototype. Of the Super-Hind-Mk4

As African Union still cannot trust SANDF to fight war alone due to poor war record....

Adds Liberian army to list of SANDF's next leaders .

South Africa accepts offer in desperation to gain a little experience of combat which it does not have.

AU concerned for inexperienced SANDF's safety, adds superior Algeria to the leadership list.

Lol Nah I highly doubt that its a real operation our guys don't actually use the Uzzi they only train with them, kinda like that whole thing of learning how to use different weapons just incase you encounter them during operations.
