Car Talk / Lasg Vis Text Message: How Accurate Is This? by cevek11: 6:15am On Dec 09, 2023
Hi Guys,

Someone got the text below from VIS on a car that had been sold, and new documents processed, over a year ago (i.e. August 2022)

LASG VIS
We kindly request your cooperation to enhance Lagos State. You can settle the fine for your Vehicle 'XXXXXXX' at http://payvis.ng and avoid potential enforcement measures. (Together for a Better Lagos) For inquiries, please call +234 8129 9371 74

QUESTIONS:
Is this just a generic message sent to all vehicle owners who haven't renewed their papers for over a year?

Is there something that the previous owner could have done to notify the VIS of change of ownership?

How does one proceed, after getting this message, to dispute it

Diagnosed again and something else popped up. This was fixed now another is popping issue the issue still persists

Stop wasting money on guess work and stop gambling with what the problem might be. Take car out for proper diagnosis/scanning that will show you straight where the problem is.

My Corolla 2003 is slow to gain acceleration once I come to a full stop while driving.

Could it be the gear; the power in gear one not enough?

Or can it have something to do with the brain box?

Car Talk / Re: Faded Plate Number An Offense? by cevek11: 9:54am On Apr 17, 2021
How much does it cost to reprint, and where is their office in Surulere

Natmvaa:

Well, very sorry about that experience you had.

Having been with MVAA for quite a while now, it's important we note that driving with faded no plate is an offence because it's meant to be clearly visible especially at night when faced with light ray.
In fact, it's important that your no plate is always visible whether at night or during the day.
Reason is that most times, security agencies may not need to stop you since they can verify your vehicles details with your no plates.

Even the machines mounted for verification of no plates, they won't be effective with a faded no plate.

About the quality of the no plates, I believe there isn't anything that is perfect. No matter how much of a quality you produce a product, it will still loose it's quality in time. So, if you are driving with a faded no plate, please visit any MVAA office for a reprint of your no plate to avoid any harassment from the security agencies.

Hope this helps in clarifying this issue.
Thanks.

Blame bank for pos business. Its an abused of cashless policy which is supposed to be point of sale and not an atm. The banks introduced it
Business / Re: Who Regulates The Pos Agents? by cevek11: 1:53am On Apr 03, 2021
And the banks are immune to this risk?

smatt1711:
Pos price charges can not be uniform just as all bank charges are not uniform , this is a private business ,if the price is not good to you then check another place , the major determinant in POS charges are the locations and the risk of handling cash in that location , if I am charging you 50 naira for a example and one day thief's attacks and I loose my 100k, how long will it take me to cover that 100k and still maintain normal life with 50 naira charge , handling cash in nigeria is a very high risk .
Business / Who Regulates The Pos Agents? by cevek11: 6:06pm On Apr 02, 2021
The photo was seen at a POS agent's location... tomorrow somebody will say banks are charging us anyhow.

Are these charges not supposed to be uniform?
