typical English man. Rooney was perfect and kagawa flopped. all because they selfishly want Rooney to be happy before the summer's wc. no way can any player be better and more important to united this season than Rooney.

No surprises Ashton has always been a pro Rooney journalist anyway, but to bring down Kagawa at the same time is ludicrous.

coogar: a one-legged RVP is better than rooney as a lead striker. it's not even debatable. the only thing rooney has is pace and pace is useless without a football brain to go with it.

rooney's decision making in the box needs help. sometimes, the difference between missing & scoring are fine details - like doing a dummy when defenders expect you to shoot or thinking out of the box. rooney lacks that intelligence.

a 4 man midfield of valencia-cleverley-carrick-nani.

For me if Kagawa gets a run of games and confidence, he'll even get better.

Kagawa should play behind RVP/Rooney but I enjoyed the Rooney/Kagawa inter change towards the end. It's something that an be built on.

afrodoc: this was one of our better performances of the season albeit against a team in poor form. The defense was okay and not as disorganized as we have been seeing and there was far more movement and sharp passing in midfield and in attacking areas.
The rooney/kagawa combo showed some promise in the last 15 minutes, however when RVP comes back big decisions would have to be made.
IMO since RVP is nursing niggling injuries i would start kagawa behind rooney in the Stoke match with RVP on the bench JUST TO SEE IF THERE IS PROMISE IN THIS PARTNERSHIP.
And of course baba giggs woke up on the right side of the bed today

That is the problem. I dont think DM has the balls to drop VP. If he is fit, he will play at the weekend and Kagawa will make way.

I've always talked about trying different things and the Rooney/Kagawa combo looked promising towards the end

I loved the Kagawa/Rooney link up towards the end.
For me, I still believe Kagawa should be given a run of games in that hole. He is the only specialist player designated for that role in our squad.
