You cant write the script. Football is not for the faint-hearted.
Congrats Citeh.

StarBoard: Maybe I'm wrong, but i don't consider the Sunderland, Everton and Arsenal games vs City as being "jobs"for the simple reason that we were TOP when City played them.Going by hindsight, United would still have been top if City had won those games.
Now we need City to slip up at Newcastle to leap-frog them into top spot. That is a job.
We hardly have had the rub of the green when in this position:
2010:Liverpool vs Chelsea, needing Chelsea to slip up.Chelsea eventually won the title.
2002:Arsenal vs Spurs, needing Spurs to beat Tottenham.Arsenal eventually won the title.
I'm sure a scenario played out like that in 1998 as well, although Arsenal beat us at OT in the run-in but it was like 6 games to go.
It's looking ominous. Whenever we've surrendered the lead and pointed to games we expect our title rivals to lose, the rivals almost always win.
Teams did us a favour also when Citeh was top otherwise we wouldn't have leap-frogged them to go top. They were leading by 5 or 8 points at one point also.
Yes our chances are very slim, that I agree but it doesn't mean it cant happen. Plus even with that we still need to win our own games regardless. So yes, its looking ominous.

My name was mentioned,bruh.
I haven't given up all hope. But from the standpoint of 3-3 1/2 weeks ago, I think it's shocking and a rather damning reflection of the state of our team that we could give up a lead this large in April. We thought he'd triumphed over us and our criticism when Arsenal beat City, but he's been shown up as vulnerable and lacking in ideas. And I'm supposed to join in the bandwagon that won't criticize FErgie when it's obvious he's been getting selections wrong all season long and buying the wrong players in the close season.
My criticising should ot be seen as not being supportive.Loyalty does not mean I shouldn't say what's wrong in the system, and in our case, there's plenty. We've taken several steps back from 2010/11.
I mentioned your name simply because you seem to always come back with this "I told you guys so" comments. That is how it's projected to me but I might be wrong on that.
Thing is we already know about the frailties in this team since the beginning of the season but we still have to support them.
Of course we are allowed to say what's wrong with the team/system/selection etc and we have all criticised Fergie at one point or the other. Even after the team news came out on Monday, a couple of people already came here to attack Fergie including myself but I still supported the team during the game.

Fergie is just a stubborn goat. That is why I believe Fergie needs a stronger assistant that will at least challenge some of his decisions, particularly with team selections. Mike Phelan just accepts anything Fergie throws at him.

Blackburn Rovers of 1995 cannot be said to be the best team in the land at the time.Sure they had Shearer and Sutton, but where did they finish the season after?

Meanwhile the Mail is reporting that a deal is almost done for Kagawa.Let's Sell Anderson.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2139361/Manchester-United-set-sign-Shinji-Kagawa.html
That Blackburn side might not have the best individual players but they had the best team to become champions - they finished top at the end of a season where all the teams played 42 games, that cannot be down to luck.

Kagawa will be a good addition but I dont believe in transfer speculations anymore not until I see the player at Carrington with Fergie and David Gill putting pen to paper. cheesy

StarBoard: Funny you decide to task me on my position.
Everyone here wants to obviously avoid the elephant in the room.
And since starboard is reacting following a rather sorry loss to our biggest rivals, everybody is pointing fingers at me.
So be it.
WE have now fallen from a position of having one hand on the EPL trophy 3 weeks prior to the derby to asking Newcastle to do a job for us.As if they are contractors.Meanwhile, folks here are refering to Newcastle beating Chelsea and holding out hope.

And we're supposedly the fantastically superior team.
As per getting behind the team,I have said before that I'd like to be proved wrong, but even if I am,there is nothing impressive about our displays since 2008/09. WE have had a sprinkling of great games we played, but we've been less than spectaculat in general.
It's not always the best team that wins.Have that in mind.
At some point, one team will do a job for another . . . its gone both ways this season.
Sunderland, Everton and even Arsenal did a job for us, the same way Everton, Wigan has done for Citeh.
I am not pointing fingers at you per say. Have you lost all hope on the team already?
What I'm saying is: We already know our team is weak in certain areas during pre season, Fergie wanted to buy but he goofed and he didn't, what should we now do? Should we stop supporting them cos of that?

I want to see you support the team a lil more. We are all in this together, we are all hurting but Fergie doesn't send any of us.

In a league where you play 38 games, only the best team can win it . . . even if its on GD.
A cup where you play just 6/7 games - the best team doesn't usually win.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 9:10am On May 04, 2012
All these epistles are now getting over-flogged.

It's like Starboard just likes to come back to say "I told you so".
As United fans, we are all hurting but even if we rant from now till the next century, there is nothing we can do about it.

From the start of the season, we already knew we needed to beef up our CM but we didn't. Only Fergie can explain himself on that.
Coming here to say we have loop-holes in our squad doesn't cut it - that has been apparent from the pre-season.
So when the season starts - should we now form a protest and not support our beloved team?
If we win the league, why shouldn't I celeberate? Afterall the best team wins innit? Whichever team that is top at the end of the season is the best team even with GD, thus deserved to be congratulated. This is not a cup competition like the CC where Cardiff can get to the finals.

There are still 2 games to go so its not like its dead and buried even if the chances are slim. This is football.
Let's get behind the team until its mathematically over please.

At least he could use that to mask his quality but he's lost a yard of pace and even his energy levels are not as high.[/quote]Spot on!!! Plus he lacks balance as well. . .he falls over too easily and his ball retention is poor.
He cant even be match fit. When was the last time he kicked a ball? undecided

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 3:00pm On Apr 22, 2012
Total madness.

At 4-2, Fergie should have taken Welbeck off for an extra midfielder and make it 5 in midfield.
Everton should be given some credit too. At OT with 2 goals down, most teams would have given up but they kept on pressing.

I can't wait for next Monday now.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 9:05am On Apr 17, 2012
Welbeck's problem s naivety and a little bit of inexperience.
He works really hard for the team and his link up play in the attack looks good . . . his movement helps him get into really nice positions but his finishing is appalling.

The good thing is he gets into those positions in the first place, so he's getting chances. He just need to work extra hard on his finishings, I think he should be staying behind after training with Chicha so they can teach other how to link and finish. grin grin

I think Fergie made him play too much game this season as well due to the fact that Berba must have offended Fergie cheesy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 7:49pm On Apr 16, 2012
Any contact is not a foul otherwise we'll be having 10 penalties every game.
The degree/impact of the contact is the issue.
All players know that if they don't go down they won't get the penalty so they exaggerate the fall, which is what Young did.
Diving is when there is no contact at all.

That is what you call a 'soft penalty' because its open to interpretation. Some refs will give it and some won't.

Well done Wigan! We were outplayed in every department until the last 10 minutes.
We just couldn't cope with Wigan's 3-5-2 formation.

We played better when we lost 6-1 to Citeh

coogar: Manchester United to sign striker Bidemi Afolabi

The 16 year old who has scored over 30 goals already this season is set to sign for the Manchester club. He is known for his aerial ability , pace and his prowess in front of goal. His style of play is similar to that of Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
He plays in the Combined Counties Football League .He was born in South Africa but moved to Ireland at a young age.
The Clongowes wood front man is considered one of the most promising strikers in Ireland.
Standing 6 ft 4 he terrorises defences. He can only improve from here.

chamotex, this kid is the real deal!
A friend told me about this but I thought it was a joke.
I'll do my research on him.

I think linesmen should be getting these sort of decisions correctly.
It's not a difficult decision at all. . . Young was at least a yard offside, it was clear and the linesman was in a good position.
Whether Young went down easily or not shouldn't even be a debate - he was offside regardless.
Feel sorry for QPR though.

it's the best football tackle i have seen on tv in the last years.

i was like dayyyyyyum!
How do we keep doing it late in games though year after year.

I think Starboard needs to re-assess his stance. I don't care if we are playing crap or our squad is shyte, if we win it this year it should be our greatest achievement in terms of winning the league.

Coogar if you had told me 4 weeks ago that we would be 5 points clear at this stage, I would have told u to F@rk off!

Great team performance . . . patience was the key.
Apart from Chicharito and Welbeck (when he came on), every one else played brilliant.

Our fans were amazing tonight . . . I heard them singing from the first whistle to the last.
