Car Talk / Re: How Much Is Car Papers Renewal In Your State? by Charles545: 4:44am On Dec 30, 2023
joyandfaith:

Proof of ownership is a latest development. It is about 1k and yearly.
Police clearance is new digital central motor registry, about 5 to 6k but not yearly.
From a WhatsApp page
Nigerian Police is at it again. This time around is what they call Police Central Motor Registry Information System (CMRIS). It costs 5k and it is yearly thing (was introduced by Tinubu). A friend and colleague of mine parted with 40k for not having it when he was stopped at police check point on a highway somewhere in the Southeast. They collected the 40k with abeg. Something that would have been done with not more than 6k. If you have not done yours, it takes about 20 minutes to do it online with the following information, your NIN, email address, phone number, vehicle registration number, the chassis number, the engine number, the vehicle colour, year of manufacture, model, make of the vehicle etc. Just go to NPF CMRIS https://cmris.npf.gov.ng/
follow the instructions to create a profile and make payment. The certificate will be sent to the email you provided. Then go to a business centre and print out a copy shikena.
The breakdown of the cost is as follows: Fee – N5,000.00, VAT – N375.00, bank charges - N190.00, printing about N200.00, total cost about N6,000.00. The beauty of it is that you can do it at the comfort of your home any time any day. Don’t fall a victim and spend unnecessarily with abeg. Do it now or meet someone who can do it to help you out. If you go to licensing office or police stations to do it, they collect as much as between 15k to 20k. Where Police demand for this is where they know that you do not have a choice (very lonely place and they know that you are at their mercy) other than to part with your hard-earned money. If you claim ignorance, they have a copy to show you there. They no dey smile o. Tell others cos information is power and many people are not aware of this and are falling victim every day.

The police does not have business with such.
It is a fraudulent venture as it is not part of the police duties.
I wonder what this country is turning into.

Go and declare him winner, since you're the INEC Chairman and the constitution at the same time.

You have a brilliant submission and I wonder why everyone is misinterpreting Section 299 of the 1999 CFRN (as amended).

Section 134 of the constitution states that a candidate will be declared winner of a presidential election if he has “(a) he has the majority of votes cast at the election; and (b) he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja

One quarter sir.

Thank you for the response

Please read below:

A candidate for an election to the office of President shall be deemed to have been duly elected where, there being more than two candidates for the election-

(a) he has the highest number of votes cast at the election;

and

(b) he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

What is one quarter of 100?.
The bold and red colored text is decisive.

Thank you for the timely response!

00FFT00:
You must secure 25% of the votes cast in 24 states and FCT to become president.

Tinubu FCT Score:

90902 / 478923 * 100 = 18,980.......

= 18.9%

Atiku FCT Score:

74199 / 478923 * 100 = 15,492.......

= 15.4%

Basis:

Section 134 (2) of the Nigerian constitution.

You must secure 25% of the votes cast in the FCT. Tinubu and Atiku failed to meet this requirement.

Please for the sake of clarity.
How did you arrive at 25%, did the Constitution expressly mentioned the "25%"?

No court, no person nay organisation will grant this killer man bail

mu2sa2:
The law says he's innocent until proven guilty, even as he committed the offence in the presence of witnesses and he himself isn't denying culpability. Now, he will be charged to court and the lawyers will defend him vigorously. The case will go all the way from the High Court to the Court of Appeal and in about 8-10 years ends up in the Supreme Court. If you're thinking the culprit doesn't stand a chance of eventually getting an acquittal, there's no need to call you, I'm sorry, a mumu. He may even be admitted to bail while the trial lasts. Let's also not forget that even if convicted, if he can connect the dots getting a pardon in Nigeria isn't rocket science.

When the same young people are going home, will they close their eyes?
As a matter of fact, I don't see anything wrong with, what they are wearing..... except you are expecting them to wear sack......

If you read in-between the lines, you'd see where I mentioned "Environment".
The young people are there for a particular purpose which is to acquire knowledge and anything devoid of that is a distraction.

If you work in a corporate environment, you'd know that... The first picture especially (sic) is very inappropriate in an environment where you know that the young people lack the capacity to control what they see, be it a female or the male gender.

What is wrong is wrong!

It is morally wrong for the purpose of the environment where you have young people staring continuously for a period of about 45 minutes minimum.
