The order, reportedly secured from a Rivers State High CourtWhy a Rivers State High Court and not a Federal High Court which has jurisdiction over the NASS? |
Interesting...!!! |
OrlandoOwoh:Section 147 (6) An appointment to any of the offices aforesaid shall be deemed to have been made where no return has been received from the Senate within twenty-one working days of the receipt of nomination by the Senate. That would amount to an affront, disrespect on the Powers of the Legislators. Secondly, if he is rejected, the Senate will put the President on notice |
zik4ever:Seriously and both parties are refusing to shift ground |
If from what we heard earlier that the Senate Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition Committee had suspended the investigation into the Petition against Amaechi is true, then what would it take the Committee Chairman and members to just put on one page as they did for the nominee from Kaduna State that was changed to Gombe State that Amaechi's case is in Court and as such 'is hereby cleared and presented for screening' by the Senate? Haba, that would be the simpliest and overnight thing to do...!!! The true picture of things from my opinion is that Amaechi's Screening is deliberately being put on hold until the matters before the Senate Committee are investigated and authenticated. If Amaechi claimed that the case is before a Court, he may have furnished the Committee with Court details and these would need to be checked or investigated. My Take…!!! The case that was in Court and had already been determined (which was instituted by Amaechi himself) was the legality of the RSG or jurisdiction of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate the activities of the Rotimi Amaechi’s Administration during a specific period of years. The case has already been determined by a competent Court in Rivers State. Amaechi lost and is yet to Appeal that judgment. Ameachi later filed a suit in Court against the State PDP Chairman and PDP for labeling him a thief (Libel & Defamation of Character) requesting Billions as damages. Case File has not been assigned, parties have not been served etc. No Court has given any order barring anyone from investigating or petitioning Amaechi and as such the Senate Committee is mindful of these and must act accordingly without fear or favour. Meanwhile…!!! If the case against his corrupt allegation was before the Court, the Judicial Panel of Inquiry would not have sat, concluded its sitting and submitted its findings to the RSG. It would amount to Abuse or Contempt of Court. If the case was in Court, the RSG would not have issued a White Paper on the Judicial Commission of Inquiry's Recommendation. Conclusion Ameachi has questions to answer period...!! His screening and confirmation is now a case of conscience, integrity and morality by the Senate and the Presidency. Judging by Political manipulation however, he may have his way now but he should not forget the old adage "99 days for a thief, but 1 day is for the owner of the house" |

abdulahi001: When the State Governor (Former Governor Wamakko who was just sworn in then) opted to personally attend the unveiling of one of my numerous projects in his state, the NYSC Coordinator told me "its beyond the power of a Corper to host the Governor of a State" I mentioned it to the Protocol Officer from the Governor's office who had contacted me, and they had to back down even though the Governor still sent a representative to grace the occasion together with his Press Team. On your Bolden comment, do not under-estimate the power of our minds cos when there is a will, there is always going to be a way. Trust me...!!! |
In anticipation of a possible rejection by the Senate of former Governor Rotimi Amaechi as a Minister of the FRN, some big wings of Rivers APC are jostling or seriously shopping for his replacement as an alternative plan (Option B) in case his maneuvers fail to scale through the Senate. Amaechi is said to be eyeing former Senator Magnus Abe as a possible replacement. Others in APC would have preferred Dakuku Peterside, but the argument in the camp is that Dakuku's name being sent forward would mean admitting defeat to Wike even before the Governorship Election Tribunal would have delivered judgment. In Bayelsa State, the Names of either of the two contestant to the APC Guber Primaries that lost to Timipre Slyvia may make the list. Timi Aliabe or Preye Aganaba as a reward for hard work. |
Boomboost: I can give you step by step procedure on how to go about it including letters to NYSC and the Fundraisers Measure the distance (km) of the Road and its economic viability...!!! |

Barring any last minute plan to scuttle his Ministerial Ambition, we have exclusively uncovered a clandestine plan by the former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi who is seriously consulting with a team of Lawyers (All SANs) to file a Suit in a Federal High Court Abuja to stop the Nigerian Senate from entertaining any petition against him from the Integrity Group stressing that he had earlier filed a case in Court against the PDP (Which the PDP Senators in Rivers represents) & the Integrity Group and that the matter was still pending in Court. More details coming shortly...!!! |

Petititons against Amaechi – My Humble Advice To the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions |
Petititons against Amaechi – My Humble Advice To the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions |
Petititons against Amaechi – My Humble Advice To the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions Recall that immediatelly after the Presidentail Election in Rivers State on Saturday 28 March 2015, while the results were being colliated, the All Progressive Congress (APC) petitioned the then Chairman of INEC; Prof. Attahiru Jega insisting that there was no election in the state. Jega after receiving the petition in his wisdom and considering the essence of time, dispatched some three wise men to Rivers to ascertain the true situation on ground. These wise men concluded their findings and thereafter adviced the INEC Chairman on the way forward. The Petition did not see the light of day, it was thrown out. http://www.informationng.com/2015/04/why-rivers-state-election-was-not-cancelled-jega.html Same way, the petitions against Amaechi should not be politized in the Senate Chambers as some ‘dishonorable’ Senators shouting No! No!! No!!! attempted to do to the disgrace of the hallowed Chambers on Tuesday. Firstly, as Senators who understands the Senate Standing Rules, shouting No! No!! No!!! in an attempt to surpressing a Public Petition is as shameful as the word ‘shameful’ can be spelt and a serious No, No for Honorable Senators to be seen doing on live broadcast. Secondly, attempting to Silence Senator Sekibo would amount to attempting to silence the Voice of the People of Rivers State whose Representative in the Senate had been duly acknowledged and granted permission to speak by the Senate President. Thirdly, attempting to silence a Public Petition without even citing the content of the Petition goes to show that those APC Senators are only interested in playing dirty party politics with the lives and dignity of Nigerians a case in Point here, the good people of Rivers State. Today we are talking about Rivers State, it could have been any other state including the APC controlled states. Are they saying openly that public petitions should be slaughtered on the alter of Politics? Commend the Senate President’s Approach. Well, at this point I will like to commend the Senate President’s approach which also proves that Dr. Saraki is not a Senate President of the APC but of Nigerians. His matured handling showed that irrespective of Party Affiliation, every Public Petition to the Nigerian Senate should not be politized and must be given the appropraite attention it deserves no matter who is against or for it. The Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions was directed to look into the petition which was the right thing to be done according to the procedure of the Senate Rules on Public Petition. Kudos to Dr. Bukola Saraki…!!! Posterity will salute your kind someday…!!! Advice to The Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions The Senate Committee members should come to Rivers State immediately, meet with various stakeholders to prove if the Petitions as alledged are authetic or not then advice the Senate as part of the Committee’s task which includes recommending to the Senate from time to time such administrative actions as it may deem appropriate to establish and enforce standards of official conduct for the Senators. The Committee can come as a whole or form another Sub-Committee to visit the State or invite the petitioners to Abuja, look into every allegation details by details before the Screening of Ministerial Norminees will commence and advice the Senate if Amaechi should be invited for screening or be declined. My Humble submission. CharlesPhc |
PMB's Presidency and Petroluem Ministerialship proves it has always been about the Oil. They want power cos they want to share the Oil Wells among themselves and their cronies...!!! Remember he was the Minister of Petroluem Resources Under OBJ in 1976 and then the Chairman of PTDF Remember former Governor Amaechi fell out with GEJ over Oil Well dispute |
Nigerian Political Play. Amaechi swore over his dead body that Wike will never govern Rivers State; Wike won - Politics Amaechi Vowed to support any party that would unseat PDP and GEJ in 2015; Amaechi won - Politics Wike plans to ensure Amaechi does not become Minister in the current administration; ? - Politics The evil that men do will live after them. Amaechi, Wike and PMB should consider at the long run actions/decisions that will better the lives of Rivers people and not all these political nonsense going on. |
If after all the wait these are the best 'saint' PMB can offer then we'd better look elsewhere...!!! |

size40:Found out the expected or supposed protest is actually planned by APC members who feels Amaechi should let Tam David -West be appointed Minister while he (Amaechi) should be appointed an Ambassador |
“While the Command respects the individual’s right of peaceful assembly, What right does the Nigerian Police, Rivers State Command have to stop the Rivers Citizens from expressing their displeasure if they so wish? Are we in the Military Era? The duty of the Police is to ensure violence free protest by seeing to it that both camps aviod any act that may breach public peace during the protest and not to warn that people should not protest. |
Amaechi is holding PMB and APC to ransom. They have no choice but to compensate him after spending billions of Rivers Money on them for election |

The Nigerian army on Sunday said it has begun investigations into some names of suspected Boko Haram sponsors in connection with recent suicide bombings in the Maiduguri and plan to expose them soon. The commander, Operation ‘Lafiya Dole,’ Maj.-Gen. Yushau Abubakar, gave this hint while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Maiduguri. Said he: “We searched the houses of suspects and certain items that we recovered in the vicinity gave us some clues. “Investigation on those that we suspect are either participating or hiding, fueling or conniving with those that carried out those acts is ongoing,” Maj. Gen. Yushau Abubakar told journalists on sunday. “They will be exposed in due course.” At least 10 people were killed and 39 others wounded when four suicide bombers detonated themselves outside a mosque Thursday night in the Sajeri area of Maiduguri. The attackers were young girls and suspected Boko Haram terrorists, Nigeria’s Defense Headquarters in Abuja said Friday. The Nigerian military has since launched a probe into people believed to be sponsoring the attacks. At least 117 people were killed in a wave of violence in Maiduguri on Sept. 20, Abubakar, commander of “Operation Lafiya Dole,” which means “Peace By Force, said “the recent spate of attacks was aimed at diverting the Nigerian army from achieving its goal of defeating Boko Haram before the end of the year”. He urged Nigerian citizens to report any suspicious movement within the region to security agents immediately. “We are doing as much as we could to ensure that we completely eradicate the insurgents as quickly as possible, because we are aware of the timeline within which to complete the task,” he said on sunday. “I want to assure all that for every second that passes, we get more committed to fighting the insurgents; we cannot be deterred.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/10/we-will-soon-expose-boko-haram-sponsors-army/ |
