CelebritiesRe: Simi, Jaywon Remixed ‘joromi’ Without Permission – Sir Victor Uwaifo by Chartey(m): 7:59pm On Nov 11, 2017
Simi's song is totally different. I guess Sir Victor Uwaifo himself has not heard the song. Maybe he was just told.
There are so many songs in this world with the same titles which is the only similarity in the two songs.

EducationRe: Winners Chapel To Build A University In Ghana by Chartey(m): 4:40pm On Nov 08, 2017
cstr1000:
lol.
Mr, charley, I would believe that too if I were Ghanaian.
You realize perhaps the oldest church-owned university in West Africa is in Ghana? LFI just don't want to be left out as many churches in Ghana have universities already.
EducationRe: Winners Chapel To Build A University In Ghana by Chartey(m): 4:27pm On Nov 08, 2017
cstr1000:
You are dumb. Who is talking about church here. ?
So 2 world class universities is enough for a nation of 180 million and climbing?
Are countries like south Africa, morocco, USA, Germany, UK, e.t.c. with many world universities for a population they don't have, foolish?
Please tell me, what exactly is the university going to serve in Ghana that Nigeria does not have a greater need for? Are there more students in Ghana, or more paying members or more tertiary educational need in ghana than in Nigeria?
Will it kill you, if Nigeria has 10 world class universities with foreign students pouring in? Is it something uncommon or unheard of?
hakeem4:
if you put the fifth one in Nigeria, it might add more to the economy of Nigeria.
The money for funding this university is likely from the members in Ghana. Do you understand now?

EducationRe: Kaduna Releases List Of Teachers Who Scored 75% In Competency Test by Chartey(m): 7:54pm On Nov 05, 2017
mapet:
This is how some of make ridiculous statements and arguments that beggars logic. If you call yourself a teacher, what competence will be assessed? Is it not your competence to do the job you're employed to do that should be tested?

What is our business with your own shortcomings? If you like get zero in geometry, who cares! People put their children in school to learn, and the people to impart knowledge are abysmally poor...... and you are not concerned?
Because an English teacher failed an exam filled with maths and current affairs doesn't mean she can't teach her English well.

NubiLove:
So you cannot read? It says PRIMARY school and not secondary school.

Primary school teachers usually teach ALL subjects (except french and music)... learn to read before rushing to comment.
There's nowhere in the story where the nature of the exam was stated.
EducationRe: Kaduna Releases List Of Teachers Who Scored 75% In Competency Test by Chartey(m): 1:38pm On Nov 05, 2017
A social studies teacher that was given secondary school mathematics questions to answer will likely fail. He/she solved those things last about 20 to 30 years ago. Let's be honest.
A few weeks back, I attempted some simple geometry and I fumbled a lot before getting the correct answer because I'd forgotten all the principles. I had an A in WASSCE Gen Maths.
Even El-Rufai will fail this exam.
The teachers only NEED to know the subjects they teach very well.
I agree there are some teachers who are not fit for the job but what do you expect when the profession is the least remunerated in the country.
Government should pay teachers well and see the profession become competitive.

It's a good move, but has a ripple effect. The price of meat will sky-rocket in no time
I don't think so, even if it does it will just be transient till people take advantage of higher prices and supply balances demand again. The fish consumed across Nigeria is not got locally, it's frozen, transported and sold. Same can be done for meat

Please I also have someone with similar condition, the mother really needs help, can you please give us the hospital where the surgery was done? Thanks
They can do it in most teaching hospitals around Nigeria. It's not a very rare condition. Just take the child to a teaching hospital near you. All these things are quite common but most Nigerians are really ignorant and these also ignorant bloggers bring sensationalism into it.

How about workplace injury or disability? Say I contracted a disease at work that cost me use of an organ? Can I make a case?
Very strong case.
The employer will have to prove that the condition wasn't linked to your work. And that's a very hard thing to prove for them especially if they didn't conduct any medical examination on you at any point.
Science/TechnologyRe: Cameroonian Man Carved Out A Cooler From A Bamboo Tree by Chartey(m): 9:32am On Oct 29, 2017
Omooba224:
If only African governments can give incentives to the youths, the continent would have become one of the best economy driven continents in the world.. The youths need supports in order to actualize their creativity dreams. If this guy can be supported, this Bamboo cooler can be modernized into an international standard whereby it will serve as a source of revenue to the government in form of export reducing the Balance of payment deficit..
Rubbish.
I'm very uncomfortable when people glorify mediocrity.
Plastic food flasks have been manufactured locally in African countries including Nigeria for decades now.
As a work of art this is beautiful but it doesn't make economic sense to produce this on a large scale as cheaper plastic ones are already being mass produced locally.
Also, this encourages depletion of bamboo forests so it's not environmentally friendly/sustainable.
Not every time "government should support" abeg.

Since you don't attend church then don't say what you don't know. That you observed many churches misbehaving doesn't mean they all behave alike
That I don't attend church presently doesn't mean I didn't attend for most of my life or that I'm not Christian.
Every true Christian should be dissatisfied with the state of the present day church. It's bad, really bad and not what Jesus wants.
CelebritiesRe: Daddy Freeze Disagrees With Ubi Franklin On Tithe Payment by Chartey(m): 5:23pm On Oct 27, 2017

Probably it's because of the church you attend. There are many churches in Nigeria that call altar calls on daily basis. That many doesn't,doesn't mean all do
I don't attend church.

this daddy freeze is an agbaya. Enough of him already. I love the way Timi dakolo handled him. old fool
I hope you are not a Christian. If you are, then you'll know it's a sin to call someone "fool" but it's not a sin not to pay tithe.
Christians nowadays know very little of the Bible. Most are not even qualified to be called Christian but the churches don't mind, there's "grace", just "pay your tithe".
These days tithers are called to the altar every Sunday but altar calls for salvation are so rare now.
The tithes are accepted not caring about the salvation status of the person paying the tithe.
Christianity is dead.

This particular condition requires only ONE test SKIN SCRAPING - To know the particular fungus responsible for such

Following the normal cycle - quite true

Even skin allergies still requires testing sometimes let alone a case of dermatophytoses
I made a statement of fact.
I guess you felt a little slighted by it as a lab person. That was unintended. You didn't need to throw that subtle punch.

They're not really jobs per se. They're mandatory internships for a permanent license to practise.

I would after going for a test, thanks a lot.
There are over a thousand tests existing. How will you or the lab technician/technologist/scientist know which one is relevant to your condition?
Please do the right thing - see a doctor who will diagnose and then tell you which tests you need to do to confirm diagnosis.
It's even very possible you may not need any test because diagnosis for many skin conditions is clinical.
Good luck.

laudate:
Oga, all sorts of patients can be admitted in a teaching hospital. undecided The high-fee paying ones can have their own section, where their cases will be handled by top notch consultants who will give them VIP treatment, and five-star premium medical care. cheesy Another section can offer basic, affordable, quality care to the masses, who can be clerked by interns and used as teaching aids, by the professors. Nothing spoil. sad Don't underestimate the resilience of many Nigerians, who do not mind travelling for miles to get good quality medical care. In Ondo & Ekiti States, as well as the neighbouring Edo & Kwara states, most teaching hospitals lack adequate facilities to offer quality medical services, that are close to what ABUAD Teaching hospital can provide to the citizens. If the state govts are able to put in place adequate health insurance schemes for their citizens, it would go a long way in helping to offset the medical bills that the patients would incur.
And that raises very many ethical questions.
Medical care is not straightforward business.
You simply don't understand this thing enough.
