You need to understand that government appoint the VC, Chancellors, Governing councils. Everything still go back to government and governance. In some universities, Electricity bill per year is more than 100m, government is not ready to pay, they are not ready to pay contract workers, not ready to pay visiting and sabbatical lecturers, utilities and many more. When PHCN, Phone networks, transportation companies and all other sectors increased their charges, they were not heartless? Mind you their is different between management of university and lecturers. In many universities, lecturers including professors are always at loggerheads with the management who takes decision.

And the selfish students and their parents say ASUU is only fighting for itself. Now, they'll really see the effect of celebrating the frustration of the people who have been fighting for them.

Right now, ASUU members are gradually telling their national body to cancel all demands related to cost and quality of education and face only lecturer's welfare.
