johnstan: Ok in that case you will need the power of attorney for the sale to the new buyer to show that the lump sum is actually from the sale of the property. Now it's your share you are receiving so an affidavit would cover that, stating that the funds is from the sale and the amount you received is your share. Okay. Thanks |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Chechem: 9:24pm On Dec 13, 2022 |
johnstan: Sale of property should have a deed like a binded paper work showing the transfer of ownership from the old to the new owner, that's what you attach as proof after stating this in your SOP. The duration of time is irrelevant if you successfully explain how you got the lump sum with receipts.
Good luck. Please, I have thought about this and realized that I didn't give the whole details, so as to get proper advice. The land that was sold was one of my fathers assets, the money to be transferred to my account is my share after it has been shared amongst my siblings and I. The money will be coming directly from my eldest brother's account to mine and I have asked him to make the narration "share from sale of property of father's property... My concern is how to proof that there was actually a sale, so it won't look like its a show money. The documents I can get about the land is the power of attorney between the seller then and my dad. The power of attorney given to the current buyer now was between my eldest brother and the buy, my name wasn't mentioned. I am still confused on how to come up with proof... Please help house... |

Pace6: No that’s not how you’ll do it, that Proof of means of financial support portion, you will merge you statement/s of account, assets and all together then upload it in that portion.
Once you upload one document in any section, you can’t upload another except you want to remove that document to upload another there. It doesn’t permit you to upload more than one.
Goodluck Wow. Thanks |

Another help house, I am self sponsored, although I am gainfully employed but the fund for my schooling will come from a sale of an inherited property. Please, how should I explain this? And which documents do I need to show? Also, must the fund stay in my account for 1 month before I can apply? Or I can apply immediately the fund enters my account...?
Thanks in advance |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Chechem: 7:25am On Dec 10, 2022 |
Pace6: You will need to upload each fill where required. E.g where you have LOA, upload your LOA there, where you have digital photo, upload your passport photograph there, e.t.c
And also for your biometrics and upfront medicals, if you were in living in Lagos or Abuja, you can do your upfront medicals even before submitting your application, but since you have to travel to do your biometrics and upfront medicals together, you can still contact IRCC about your upfront medical via webform, only you’ll have to wait for the to request for the e-medical slip. Which ever hospital you decide to use would have sent it to IRCC.
Goodluck Thanks bro, the old Portal isn't like that, there are some section termed "Proof of means of financial support", here you need to upload many documents such as statement of account, employment letter, assets etc. So I was asking if this section will allow me upload for example statement of account, then click again to upload employment letter or if I am I just to click it ones, which means that I will have to merge all the documents pertaining to proof of fund, then upload it ones. Please those that used the old Portal should help abeg |

Joedave25: @Chechem,
Segment your documents properly and merge in each section before you upload.
You can use Webform to upload additional documents.
You can do you upfront medicals when u come for your biometrics.
I hope this helps. Thanks bro |

Please house, I am using the old Portal to apply, in those sections where I am to upload multiple files, am I to upload the documents individually or merge all the document pertaining to a section into one file and upload once?
Also, I read that one can nolonger use webform to upload documents anymore. I have already planned on doing my upfront medicals when I go for biometrics, then upload afterwards. Please, how do I do this, because I stay in the East, going to Abuja or Lagos twice without having anyone there will be expensive for me, couple with the security challenges. |

Thomsyne: Nah, not necessarily. It is best practice but you have a lot of explaining to do if that is your last resort. Is the account going to be in your name? Is the sponsor a third-party? I have resolved to exchange and pay I to my nigerian account. Thanks alot |

Please be calm, every1 sees yours question and I believe if they have the answer to it they will reply. It was as a result of the urgency |

Josh121: I will advice for the money to be sent to your naira account cause you will get more in return, if you open a dorm account, visa officer will calculate with CBN rate and in return short the money but if it sent to your account with a black market rate you will still have something better in your account. My opinion Okay. Thanks |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Chechem: 3:00pm On Dec 08, 2022 |
Thomsyne: It can/will be accepted. The only thing there is, you have to explain thoroughly:
- why the account is new and the reason it was used for this purpose. - why and how the funds will be used to sponsor you - that the funds are easily accessible and are in fact meant for the purpose of your studies. The account must not be 4 months old like the person above stated? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Chechem: 2:52pm On Dec 08, 2022 |
ChiPromise: Whatever account statement you're submitting, the account must be atleast 4months old coz that is the minimum number of months required for bank statement. Okay. Thanks |

Chechem: Please house, I have a question... The sales of land i wanted to use as proof of payment was paid in pounds, into my brothers account, he wants to transfer to me but the rates are so low now and we will lose alot of money if we do. So we came up with an idea for me to open a pounds domicialiary account and he will make the transfer there. But I want to be sure if this would be accepted, because the domicialiary account statement will only show the pounds paid in by him. If there are other alternatives, please advise me. Seems getting help from here is now difficult... |

Goodluck Thanks very much |

Pace6: Since you don’t live in or anywhere around Lagos or Abuja, I’ll advice when you go for your biometrics, you should also do an upfront medicals, upload the e-Medical sheet via webform. This is to save cost of traveling, safety and also lodging in an hotel.
Goodluck Thanks. My challenge will be if I will get a date for medical then that will be close o that of that of the biometrics. |

Jaykeh: It's possible to visit Lagos and do both medical and biometric but there might be a very long period between the biometrics and medical appointment dates for Lagos, I think Abuja has more considerable dates if you wish to return back to east ASAP. Just weigh your options very well. Thanks |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Chechem: 9:32am On Nov 16, 2022 |
Leadforteservic: Yes! You can even do upfront medical before submitting your application. I will advise you do upfront to save yourself the stress and not waste time when the embassy requests for it
If you wait for the embassy to request for it, it's not a guarantee your appointment date will come up early when you book for it. It may even take more than a week or 2 weeks or more to get your next booking and you will wait for another week or 2 weeks or more for the medical sheet to be available. So just do upfront once and upload the sheet to the your page when requested for Thanks |

Goodmorning House, I am yet to apply, still gathering required documents. Is it advisable to go for upfront medicals? Or can I apply and go for medicals later then upload? Or if I don't do upfront medicals, then I must wait for them to send me medical request before I do it?
I live in the East, I am thinking if I can visit Lagos just ones and do both the medical and biometrics at ones. Can this be achieve? Can I apply, then if I am sent to biometric, then I book an appointment for medicals at ones? Can this be achieved? Please help me guys... |

johnstan: It will end In praises . The new portal was introduced during COVID or so, not sure, so it's quite new. My plan was to use the old Portal but had issues with payment back then so i switched to the new portal thinking it would solve the payment. I later figured it was cos I was using a naira card so I stuck with the new portal. If not for the 2mb thingy, the new portal was great, it saved me the stress of filing those numerous pdfs lol. Please, can you help with link of the new and old portal... Also, how did you address your SOP? And to whom was your letter of introduction from your workplace addressed too. |

johnstan: My timeline - First time self applicant - New portal.
*Upfront medicals - 22nd June *Application - 5th July *Biometrics letter came 8th July *Biometrics appointment - 14th July *Medicals updated - 19th July Medicals update change from "we are yet to receive your request" to *we did not receive your request". I panicked and sent my e-medical sheet like 5 times via webform and email before it was updated. *Biometrics updated - 22nd August. Then the long wait *Eligibility started - Oct 26th after over 13 weeks I applied. *Bvl dropped - 14th Nov *PPR - 15th Nov.
My documents: *School's LOA *Letter of introduction from my office *Job appointment letter *Office ID *4 months pay slip *Birth certificate, NIMC slip and passport *POF - N1.5m *Pension certificate *Waec certificate *Nysc certificate *High school certificate *University certificate *WES evaluation report *Police clearance certificate.
Sponsors documents (mum and bro) *Their passports *Their work appointment letters *Their work IDs *Their affidavits and ordinary signed letters of sponsorship *POF (N10m and N5m) *Irrevocable power of attorney for the only landed property we have *Birthday certificate of all my siblings *Several family pictures.
This application was just God. My first post on thread 21 is attached to show you how nervous and scared I was. I made up my mind and started the journey in May 2022, got admission 3 weeks into the month and came to Nairaland for visa application advice. I went through several threads before arriving at thread 21 and I was immediately discouraged with the documents I saw people packaging. People had landed properties, business/personal/sponsors accounts with tens/hundreds of millions as turnover and balance, gift deeds here and there, affidavits of different kinds, scholarships etc, so I spent the entire June gathering the documents I could. I had over 30 supporting documents so shrinking it to 2mb was no child's play. I eventually did and uploaded without checking it. I checked afterwards and realized that half of documents were blurry and unreadable, I almost died lol. I just left everything. I'm not a spiricoco person but I don't doubt the God factor so I prayed the little I could every morning till PPR dropped. My take away: Your documents and packaging are important but at the end it's God so don't get carried away with self confidence and don't be discouraged as well, put in your best and leave the rest to God. I had up to 15 SOP drafts till I couldn't draft any more and used the last one to apply so don't underestimate the power of your SOP and do a good job with it.
How do I submit my passport, please help. Congrats brother, I tap from your grace. Please the power of attorney, is it the whole pages you uploaded or just the front page? |

Exline101: Is PPR, I have been a silent reader and it won’t be nice if I fail to share this great joy with my Nairaland family .
Timeline ;
I will say I’m a third time applicant though first was a visiting visa around 2018 and I was denied based on financial status and assets.
Second application which is for study and that was when i got to know about Nairaland Travel section and I messaged @Anon123 and asked him to guide me through with my application . Then we submitted on 5th of April 2022 after two month, 8th June hot breakfast was served and we applied for gcms immediately and it came out around 29th of July :
Refusal reasons: unexplained lump sums and also the VO stated that the cooperate account statement provided that I did not explain relationship b/w the employee/employer .
What we did different : I paid additional tuition of 9500$ with the previous deposit of 2000$ making it a total sum of 11500$ ,I also went to bank requested for a reference letter stating that am sole signatory to my cooperate and savings account and also added few sales receipts /invoice of my business then we re-fired on 21st of August and PPR dropped on 10th of November.
Documents submitted
1. Letter of acceptance 2. Tuition receipt 3. Marriage certificate 4. Cac certificate 5. My wife’s cac certificate 6. 2 power of attorney of landed documents 7. Property valuation certificate 8. Tenancy agreements from my tenants 9. Sales receipt/invoice from my business 10. Police clearance certificate 11. Cooperate and savings account statement 12. My 2 kids birth certificate 13. Family pictures
I want to specially thank God almighty for making this Canadian dream a reality. I give him all the glory and also i want to thank @Anon123 for pointing me at the right direction and also all the gurus in the house . To the PPR hopefuls keep the faith alive it will surely end in praise . Amen
What is bothering me now is that I can’t find my biometrics receipt anymore though will be doing walk in passport submission since I live in Abuja until I get there this week will find a way out . Please for land documents, is power of attorney enough, I am looking to do survey in my case. |

jaydave: Your bank statement of atleast 4mnths Evidence of your work and every evidence that serves as source of income flow into that bank statement The receipt of property sold and all d papers of d property As a self sponsor u will show evidence that u hv d total money for d duration of ur stay available and accessible OR you show proof of 1yr stay in canada as requested by Cic for ur category and further show evidence that will satisfy the VO that there would be subsequent flow of income to you during ur stay in Canada without necessarily working in Canada . If you have any other asset in your name I can add them too The gurus here would also weigh in later I bliv, and you can also check on cic website for their requirements regarding POF Thanks brother |
