TheGuyFromHR: So your one year of residence starts from the day you came to the UK to live under whatever resident visa you had before you switched to the Skilled Worker visa. Alright, thak you. Make I book test |

AKALAMAGBO: I’m not sure it’s valid since you’ve been in the UK more than a year, I saw this online today, so I might be right… You can ask DVSA Oh! Thank you for this |

ugoonuoha: Hi, please can I PM you about the re-apply process? What happens to the original application fees/IHS? Mine is 10 weeks and counting! When you reapply, you will be asked if you have a pending application awaiting a decision and prompted to provide UAN/GWF number, if you select yes. The old application will be nullified, I am not sure what happens to the previous IHS after biometric as I didn't pay (applied for Health and care visa). But the visa fee for old application will be forfeited. |

Can I still drive for 1 year with Nigerian driving license since I switched visa, although i have never used it to drive before now? I have provisional license and passed theory test. I am taken classes and I have 8hrs training already.
I am considering driving with the Nigerian license for a while before I take practical test |

CheesyTee: I got another CoS from my employer. Reapplying for another skilled visa and withdrawing the old application.
I will be opting to use ID check app and priority service because I am not sure of dates available for physical biometric (my patience is running thin and waiting 3-4 week for biometric date fit make me lose it).
Fingers crossed. Got my Skilled Worker Visa (H&C) decision today at 7:58pm. I am over the moon. I am glad I chose to reapply after waiting over 6 months. |

Thiago6: I greet the house oh. Please, is it possible to send funds from a Nigerian dollar account to a bank account in the UK?
If it's not possible, what other alternatives do I have to transfer money from Nigeria to a UK account? I'd really appreciate a reply. Thanks in advance. If you have a dollar card, you can use PayPal to send money to your UK account. |

kode12: Using biometric apps, I know people who got their response within 3days after they'd done the BRP scanning with the app and picture taken. This is student visa season, so even with priority, I'm not sure how much faster you'd get a response. Even before student visa, Ukraine applications took the front seat. The UKVI also experienced technical issue with application submitted between mid march and May. I sha know I won't have to wait another 7 months like I did for standard application. I intend to apply alone get decision before applying for dependents. |

kode12: If you're using biometrics app, why are you going for another physical biometrics capture? I haven't heard of anyone else switching visas who have had to do that. You just scan your current BRP with NFC, take a photo etc. that's it AFAIK I was considering doing super priority which was why I mentioned physical appointment and not sure of closer dates for biometric. |

CheesyTee: 6 months since I did biometric to switch from T4 to Skilled Worker Visa
I just wan vent.
UKVI keeps saying there us a technical issue with application. I had to email HR to ask if they can reissue CoS so I can reapply for work visa and pay for priority this time.
Nothing yet from HR as they needed to contact UKVI too. I got another CoS from my employer. Reapplying for another skilled visa and withdrawing the old application. mizGene: I did, got BRP after 3 weeks even though I paid for priority.. You are instructed not to travel out whilst the application is being processed. Not sure if there is a way around it... Please when did you receive decision mail with priority? I am thinking of withdrawing my application and reapply to pay for priority service. My standard application to switch from t4 to Skilled Worker Visa is now over 6 months |

HollyMadison: Hello elders and advisors.
In applying for skilled worker brp, my friend made a mistake and ticked that the company will sponsor her living expenses…. Today makes it 9weeks since she applied and she hasn’t even gotten decision.
Also, month ago , she wrote a letter explaining the mistake she made and attached my statement on her application.
Please what can she do to salvage the situation? Did she upload bank statement? You can do a paid call if the application is from outside UK |

Shallypop: Hi all! I applied for Healthcare tier 2 visa and the application is yet to be out. My student visa is valid till next year before applying for the Tier 2 visa. I want to withdraw my application. Will I loose my student visa if I withdraw my application because I saw on UKVI website that I will loose my status if application is withdrawn? Only if your current visa status expires while waiting for a decision. You can withdraw your application. |

kode12: Hi people, I've got a question that has always been at the back of my mind. Asking oyinbo might be a bit awkward but I'm sure naija should understand. Why are there so many kids in the UK with autism or on the autistic spectrum? It almost seems as though the Brits consider it a badge of honor saying their kids are on the spectrum or to use it to claim disability.
I've seen a lot of kids who the parents claim are on the spectrum and honestly, they seem cognitively okay, and if it were naija some proper brain resetting beating every once in a while will likely realign the child, but the parents here just seem to use "on the spectrum" as a pass to allow the kids become uncontrollable and something a complete nuisance.
Is there some kind of inherited genetic predisposition for brits to be on the spectrum or is that just some quasi-cultural thing that has become part of the medical norm for doctors to just label the kids as on the spectrum?
##Or is my perception on the matter just skewed because Nigeria doesn't do enough testing to determine if kids are on the autistic spectrum or have cognitive disabilities and just assume the child is a "dullard"? It is called a spectrum because autism is different for everyone. Some people can be on the spectrum and be high-functional while some may require social support. Also, have you considered the possibility of where you work as a reason you see many cases of people on a spectrum? Perhaps, you work in health or care settings... |
