Hello ,
Please after my interview I got a mail that I was accepted and that I show reply back if I accept the offer which I did but up till now o have gotten any feedback from them concerning my COS.

They will issue you CoS, don't worry. You still have conditions to fulfil. Like reference, Police checks etc right? Once you do that, you get your COS.

Hello UK elders,
Please I need your input. I suppose to post on student visa thread but I believe there are more experienced UK people here.
I got an offer for "MSc Psychology" and "MSc psychological wellbeing and mental health" , which one of the two can I go for that I can easily get job..
Thank you

As a psychologist, I will suggest MSc. psychological well-being and mental health as this put you at a minimum of band 6 position as a CBT therapist or psychological therapist.

With MSc. psychology, you will require specialisation and getting higher pay, a doctorate is required. This degree can get you assistant psychology position of band 4 or 5.

However, some CBT position also request for MSc psychology degree but not all.

Thank you for your response.
Please what if your employer is not ready to issue CoS, can I replace it with proof of funds and like how much am I look at?
got an offer from NHS but they are not talking about CoS.

If you received offer and you're outside Nigeria, don't worry, they will issue you Confirmation of Sponsorship.

It may take 2-3 weeks after you receive conditional offer.

And no, you can't replace POF with COS. POF is proof of fund (money you have to support yourself) while COS is confirmation of sponsorship meaning the employer is sponsoring you to UK and sponsorship doesn't mean money.

Bro pls what are the list of documents you submitted? I have offer letter but no CoS yet. Can I start my visa processing

COS is important as it contains your employer's license number and your COS number.

When you eventually settle down and have a permanent address in Lewis, you should sign up for Loganair’s islander discount. This is available to all islanders and offers them subsidised flights to the mainland. I think the ferry companies also have a similar discount scheme available to islanders.

Thank you. I signed up for Loganair discount while booking our flight.

The maximum amount allowable (tax free) by HMRC is £8,000 however this does not mean that you will receive the entire amount from your employer. The amount you receive will depend on the qualifying expenses you claim for with the relevant supporting documents. For instance if the cost of hiring a moving van is £3,000, your employer will only reimburse £3,000 when you present the receipt. They are not going to dash you £8,000 for jolly cheesy

Also check the policy of your employer as some employers may require you to repay the money if you leave the company or trust within a certain time.

Yeah. I understand.

This would have been helpful to be reimbursed. Flight and accommodation especially. Considering I’m taking the kids.

I’ve spent about £2000 already.

Have u read the relocation policy of ur trust? A colleague of mine just relocated, she was expecting like £4K when we read the policy she’s only entitled to £400

How £4000 turn £400? Lol

I saw for NHS Orkney, their relocation allowance is £8,000 for band 4 and above and I was already thinking I should have applied there.

I will send her another email this night. And if she still did not respond after work hours on Monday, then I will call her on Tuesday.

But during your application did you tell them you were in Nigeria or UK?

Thanks dear

Yes, I did mention I was in Nigeria and they all sent links for MS Teams.

Hey congratulations >> dee1504 and Percaput

Please did they specifically say it will be a virtual interview?

I got shortlisted for an interview on 9th of March and they just sent the physical address, they did not mention Anything about online interview there.

I replied the email telling the lady on the other end that I'm in Nigeria and can't possibly be in the UK for the interview but she has not replied after two days. I'm already upgrading myself taking new courses on Alison.

Did they specifically say it will be online during your own or they just sent the physical address like mine?

Hi,

I remembered while I was in Nigeria, I got shortlisted to attend a physical interview, I simply emailed them suggesting we have the interview virtually and gave my reason.

Although, I had my study visa, however, my flight was scheduled for a later date.

So I'll advise you to email them for an online interview and reiterate you are in Nigeria.

@CheesyTee

Many congratulations!

A few questions

So in summary, before completing your Masters, you will be switching to a Skilled Visa or Healthcare visa? Can you do this in country i.e. within UK or you have to go back to your home country to apply?

What would happen to your studentship? would you be able to continue online or forfeit it? Is this allowed? Would the school allow?

Would you know if a student dependant (not main applicant) can switch to either a skilled or health care visa within UK? What does this mean for the main applicant?

Grateful for any insight you can provide.

Many thanks.

These questions no few at all o.

1. We have had some people share their testimony about switching visa. So yes, it's possible to switch from study visa to skilled worker or health and care visa within the UK before you finish studies (eduted: new rules ni longer allow this).

2. One can choose to either continue studies, defer or forfeit after one receive skilled worker visa. You have a new sponsor (new rules requires finishing uni before switching; 17th July, 2023)

3. I may not be able to give the right answer but according to UKVI, dependants can switch visa.

Would be relocating to Paisley, Scotland. Anyone living there, would appreciate any feedback especially in terms of housing, social life, cost of living, diversity and the accent. Thanks

Paisley is a nice place with diverse culture. Rent is relatively affordable. Not sure of social activities cos Scotland generally no get plenty social activities. But the consolation is, it's close to Glasgow and there are other places like Braehead (Xcite) where you can get to take kids for fun activities like wall climbing, games, movies and the rest.

Cost of living is moderate.

You dey ask of accent lol. I hope your "azzent" isn't thick (kidding). Don't worry, ask if you no hear well, they won't take offence.

Please can you share some insight on how you got a job offer that provides sponsorship.
Will you be ending your course or will your employer allow you to finish?
I'm on that path and it would really be appreciated

Hi, I shared here.

https://www.nairaland.com/6748312/uk-skilled-worker-visa-health/21#109533402

I won’t be finishing my course before switching as the CoS is only valid for 3 months. I, however, may choose to continue my studies online should Uni allow that or defer.

Although, I’ll most likely defer my dissertation.

It basically says you are switching from one visa to another. If it was T4 to PSW and never graduate, the requirements wouldn't have been met.

Yes, starling Bank is okay to show proof of funds, holds the same weight as your BOS statement.

I find that when downloading statements from traditional high street banks, logging in online is your best bet. It is one of the many limitations of their mobile app, compared to pure online banks such as monzo and starling bank. I am able to specify search dates on my business BOS account and download, I'll expect personal current account to have the same function.

Oh. Now I get. I should have tried that but I already moved funds to starling

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think you are meant to use an online print out for visa application. You should phone the bank/ go in person and request a statement for the specified date. The statement should have the bank letter head and the address as well as your home address.

I think online statement is acceptable as well.

My people, Bank of Scotland doesn't seem to have specified dates for the statement. It's not showing months. For instance, if I want to download from Jan 8 till date.

Is Starling Bank acceptable to show Proof of Fund for health & care visa? Thank you.

I understand but what I don't get is why don't like remove these occupied houses from the site? It could be annoying and frustrating. It is well

There is a place to filter out houses that have been rented out especially on Zoopla, openrent and rightmove. If you check the apartments, most carries "let agreed" once it's off-market.

They don't delete because of reactivation when tenants move out, I suppose.

You can imagine. Things are happening now, times have changed, people are a lot nicer. I use to think covid added to the change, but I think it’s just understanding that there is no difference other than complexion. Just ask for help. Glasgow here, you will ask one person for direction, six people from no where will come out and explain one after the other the same or similar to what the first person explained just to make sure you are okay and safe.

You're right. So many times I've met nice people here. They are surprisingly chatty and happy to help any way they can. From helping you navigate your way to giving you names of store to get items for kids or your home as a newcomer.

Work colleagues nko? Nice to a fault.

My Nigerian mind will be feeling compelled to reciprocate the kindness with something tangible. Like Abi they want money ni? lol.
