Apologies ahead if I'm derailing the thread, bit my intention.
Please those that have been able to successfully switch from Study Visa to Skilled worker/Health & Care visa (before finishing studies), how long did the decision take?
I'm about to make payment for the family and would like to understand the process. Did you do another biometric (I'm in Scotland, will I travel to England for that?).
Thank you. |

dee1504: Congratulations. Your CoS is supposed to contain the duration of your contract. If it doesn't contain it, you can send a mail to your HR about it. It would be rectified. Thank you. I have emailed the HR about that. Although it's a permanent position but better to clarify than make assumption. |

I just realised I didn't need NARIC after all as I already have CAS that mentioned my level of English.
I have requested for cancellation.

My people, abeg help check screenshot. It's a conditional offer though and my study visa expires in Jan 2023.
Question: The clause "It is your responsibility to ensure this eligibility and entitlement is maintained throughout your period of employment with NHS Western Isles" dey confuse me.

Viruses: I understand better now after reading @LagosismyHome's comment.
You need a letter from your school stating that English is the medium of instruction. It will be issued by your school's registrar and addressed to NARIC. However, your school will not send it to NARIC themselves, they will send it to you then you will scan it and upload to NARIC.
I think you are better of with IELTS, just register for the next available one if what you want to use it for is time-bound.
I did IELTS and NARIC but I used the IELTS because before NARIC came out owing to my school's delay in issuing the said letter, I had already applied with IELTS and my visa was even out seff. Thank you for your response. It's not time-bound and Canada don make me get PTSD for IELTS |

Akorkor: For me, I uploaded my B.sc & one MSc. Didn’t upload the second one due to long process of getting proof of English from the school. And NARIC responded within 4 working days which was surprising because this was December period and by the way, it was standard. Thank you for your response. I will just upload the degree that I've got proof of English for. It will definitely take time to get proof of English for my BSc. |

Zimzee: Hi everyone, I just came across this thread and I was so fascinated as so many questions on my mind were answered here, however, I still have few things I want to clarify. I am currently on a student visa in UK September 2021 batch, studying msc psychology (Conversion). I did sociology and anthropology in my BSC and I don't have work experience in that regard. Meanwhile, I am currently working in care home here the UK. I want to know how I can utilize My msc degree to get a sponsorship job here, please @cheesyTee, @dee1504 and @Uzland, I know you guys a well experienced in this journey. I am a bit confused as I have read that msc psychology conversion can only fetch me band 4 job. Please what are my options. I want to start exploring them early enough as I don't want to pay £2000 for PSW if I don't end up getting sponsorship job. Is it possible to switch on this new launched pathway of care giving? With your MSc Psychology conversion, you will need a specialisation course. Some got for Clinical Psychology while some take another diploma in CBT. However, some band 4 assistant psychology positions are permanent, you may start with that. I have also seen a band 5 Assistant Psychologist position under councils like Orkney and Highland. |

Viruses: Maybe things have changed or I don't understand you properly. When I did mine, I gave them cert and transcript, they evaluated and gave me proof of English certificate. I wasn't the one that gave them proof of English. Nonetheless, uploading just your highest qualification should be fine. Thank you. I think things have changed too. I'll upload my highest degree. |

Viruses: Are you talking about getting NARIC proof of English proficiency? you need to upload your certificate and transcript. If you create a free account and login, you'll see the checklist of required documents. Thank you for your response. Yes. I have uploaded the required documents. They also requested proof of English to be uploaded. I wanted to know if it's okay to upload just Msc. instead of two degrees. |

Hi nairalanders, I've been reading about switching from student visa to skilled worker visa. I got NHS offer (band 6) as a psychotherapist.
I am September term and they're still doing some background checks so it's may take 4-6 weeks before I receive an unconditional offer.
I'm looking to switch even though I'm yet to ask for COS. I'm waiting to receive an unconditional offer before asking. |

Thank you. As I mentioned, I am on a student visa and I came into Uk in September 2021 for MSc. Health Psychology. I have MSc. Clinical Psychology from Nigeria already with experience as a clinical psychologist too. I was previously focusing on assistant psychologists, healthcare assistants and support workers positions because getting a job as a clinical psychologist requires a doctorate and HCPC registration. I started checking vacancies in my field because my experience working as a carer with an agency wasn't something I wanted for a long-term purpose. I then realised I was qualified for the position of a cognitive behaviour therapist considering my previous masters and work experience from Nigeria. Some required HCPC registration while some doesn't. I got several "following your application... we regret to inform you..." mail I realised it's better to go to rural areas (at least for me) than focus on NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde or West of Scotland and other popular places. I got an interview invitation to come in person but I requested a virtual interview instead. The rest, they say na story. And here we are... dee1504: Congratulations ma'am. Your patience paid off. Welcome to the NHS.
Kindly share your experience, so that other PSYCHOTHERAPISTS can learn i.e B.Sc, M.Sc, other relevant qualifications, how you applied, any tips for applications, etc |

Got my conditional offer today! CheesyTee: Hello guys, I am a student in Scotland and I applied for a job as a Band 6 psychotherapist position in NHS. I was called about 3hrs after my interview and since then, it’s been radio silent.
I’ve called the HR department of the hospital and they said they’re waiting for the Director to sign off on some documents.
The wait since December is killing me. |
